Cat & Kitten Repellent

Cat & Kitten RepellentI am currently 'owned' by 9 cats and 3 dogs... I have tried MANY different products for MANY different obstacles over the years, and I have to say that I am BEYOND IMPRESSED with this product!!!

My current ongoing (10 year) battle has involved me fighting against the cats for the rights to the X-Mas tree. Last year was THE WORST--they tore off, chewed-up, and played soccer with the ornaments--and then bent and knocked down branches while attempting to 'nest' in the tree... I was officially dreading the holidays this year, and I was more than tempted to not even bother putting a tree up at all.

I finally decided (against my good judgment) to try yet again to enjoy the holiday festivities and traditions with a X-Mas tree.

I rigged it up 3-1/2ft off the ground, on a corner cabinet, and then wired it to the wall.

They got into it anyway.

I bought carpet runners, turned them over poke-side-up, and made a blockade around the tree and surrounding furniture.

They still got into it.

Finally--denying the cats my ultimate surrender--I decided to try a spray repellent (although I was leery to try it after reading quite a few negative reviews).. This was one of my last hopes..

I sprayed 'Keep Off' under, around, and behind the tree for the past two nights. It does have a weird/unpleasant odor, but the smell had disappeared by morning.

Apparently the odor is much more offensive to them than it is to me, because I am thrilled (and a little surprised) to say that it has been over 48hrs--and not ONE SINGLE ORNAMENT has been touched by the cats!!!

9 Cats .vs. 1 can of 'Keep Off' = I WIN!!!

This has never happened before!!!! My cats and I thank this incredible 'X-Mas saving spray' for giving our household a chance at a happy holiday!

I will be buying this product for the rest of their 9 lives. :)

Sincerely-

Jessica Rymarz and Our Crazy Cat House

This product should be listed in the category of Human Repellent. It smells *awful* and....it gives you a raging headache the minute it hits the air. Meanwhile, the cats are blithely strolling up to smell the furniture in question, sniffing inquisitively, and then blissfully scratching away. It's like a comedy routine.

If you don't want to end up clutching at your forehead while listening to the (now very painful) sound of claws on furniture, I would advise against trying this product.

Trying to keep two cats off the furniture. Bought this and it does indeed work for 2-3 days anyway (Maybe its because the cats are just stubborn little things.). It does have a weird odor that is a bit off-putting but the cats definitely do not like it and will avoid. If you're spraying this in a small, enclosed area like an office, open a window or get air freshener...

The smell of this will have your cat running in fear. If you take your cat over to test this out, be careful that its back claws don't puncture your skin as the cat tries to flee in panic.

Yes, it smells bad but you don't need to use a lot. You can spray it around the base of furniture to keep your cat from getting to the cushions, or in small amounts around flower pots, etc. Just remember to respray because it wears off.

This is the same product as FP REPELLENT SPRAY CAT&KIT 6OZ but the manufacturer gave the can a "new look!"

While this stuff does smell quite unpleasant, it isn't unbearable for me, and my kitty absolutely hates it. Sometimes I'll spray areas of our carpet where I see her scratching. And while it does repel her, the effects don't really last that long, and I usually have to end up spraying twice a day. I do spray quite generously. It does work at repelling cats from certain areas, and I will keep repurchasing, until I can find something a little more long-lasting.
