The system is absolutely terrible. I set it up and tested both collars with the light tester that comes with it. I let the dogs out and my Austrailian Sheppard was zapped in the middle of the yard. The setting on the control panel was on the lowest width it could go, any lower and it would have been turned off. I would never recommend that anyone ever buy this product.
This does not work on a big dog. We put the collar on him and he just scratched his neck when it shocked him and it didn't make him get back in the boundaries. It may work on a small dog but not big dogs.
