PROS:It's double ply.
It feels sturdy.
The material is a soft nylon.
It's comfortable in your hands.
I have much better control over my dog.
The length is perfect & doesn't drag on the ground.
CONS:
It's heavier than your average leash*
It may feel bulky to some people*
*These are not really CONS to me but I thought I'd point them out.
Prior to this leash, I was using a regular 3/4" wide by 6 ft long leash. While it was good enough, it felt just a bit too long. I also briefly used a retractable leash and enjoyed the freedom it gave my dog however, I wasn't a fan of the thin cord that looked like it would one day inflict some pain on anyone who crossed its path if my squirrel loving dog decided to go chase one down.
I don't think it's necessary for dogs under 25 lbs. I think standard leashes would work fine for those dogs.
