I bought this crate because my 40 pound Aussie had bent some of the bars on a lighter weight metal crate. This was billed as a heavier duty crate. The wires are much thicker than some of the cheaper alternatives. For a normal dog, this would be a fabulous crate. My dog was able to bend the bars, unlatch the bottom latch, and bend the door enough to get out. I think that if the latches locked a littler better, it would have at least slowed her down. I will be looking for another crate but will hopefully bend this one back to a normal shape to use with another dog.
We purchased this crate for our Australian Shepherd puppy. She is now 5 months old. We are using the divider and this is easy to adjust. With the divider cutting the crate in half, we cannot use the side door. The crate is easy to fold and set back up again and would be easy to travel with, although we haven't taken it anywhere yet. We did find that the Petco fleecy mats designed to be put inside seem to run a little bit smaller then we would prefer. The crate is durable and does not seem to have any sharp edges. Our two year old son has even enjoyed opening and closing the doors and climbing inside. This was just what we neede.
