I tried this product to stop nuisance barking at the door when doorbell rings. If you follow the training tips that they provide before you use it, you cannot fail. You do need to periodically enforce it and go back to the initial steps to ensure the dogs continue to be affected by it. It does seem to work well with multiple dogs as long as you train each one individually before using it. I recommend it highly!

Over the last several years it seems like I have become somewhat of an amateur dog-trainer. I work with 6-7 doggies on a regular basis. I am a big proponent of clicker training and use it almost exclusively. The only problem that I have with it is that, although it is great for reinforcing positive behavior, it's not always successful--at least for me--when trying to curtail negative behavior. The shake trainer operates on a similar principle as clicker-training so I thought that I would give it a shot.

The conditioning portion of this training program is extremely simple. However, that is where I ran into some problems. The first two dogs (a Yorkie and a Miniature Blue Heeler) took to it right away but my friend's smooth-coat Dachshund was very frightened by the shaker and I could not continue working with her. Whenever I pick it up now she runs away and hides.

The next dog that I tried to work with was a large, kind of wild behaving, pit bull mix named Bowzer. I have worked with him using clicker trainer just a little and I thought that he would be a good prospect for the Shaker. When I first shook it he tore out and hid behind some bushes. Although he has known me for quite a while he suddenly became afraid of me and it took a while for him to get over it. However, his "sister" is a yellow Lab mix and it worked perfectly on her.

Beyond the initial conditioning I have found to Shaker system to be very effective when combined with consistent and firm vocal commands. I use it mostly for stopping the dogs from barking at strangers and other passersby and it has been very effective. I will continue using it and I will recommend it to others.

I received the Shake Trainer on a Friday and by Sunday my Chahuahua had stopped barking, really. She didn't bark a lot like some Chihuahua's, she did not bark at the doorbell or noises outside but she would sit at the patio door and bark at birds, squirrels, wind socks, pretty much anything that moved out there. But not anymore. She will run to the patio door like always but she does not bark she just sits and watches. I would recommend this to anyone. I still can't believe it but it's true. I have not heard Chica bark for days, really amazing.

We purchased this to stop a tightly wound Australian Shepherd from barking; she barks whenever anyone walks by the house, comes to the house, stays at the house,goes in the pool, leaves the house...you name it, she barks. And, in many instances, her barking can last for hours. Luckily, I only wasted $15 on this item since I purchased it thru Saveology. We watched the DVD and followed the instructions to a T.

The first time I shook the device per instructions, she ran off. Wow, we thought, maybe something will work. Within about 10 minutes,she started barking again. I picked up the device, and she ran off and stopped barking. We were in shock! But, a few minutes later, she started to bark again, I picked up the device, she kept barking. Shook it, kept barking. And, that was about the end of it. Never again did it work.

I am not sure if anyone mentions it in the reviews but this product does not emit a painful, high pitched sound like you may think instead, it is a ridiculously loud metal container that seems to be full of rocks. It is not only annoying as can be to humans, it's probably just a stupid annoyance to my dog, too.

We have three dogs, two of them puppies. Getting them to listen, and stop barking was impossible. The constant noise was driving us nuts.

I received this at work today, a mere 4 hours later...peace and quiet.

My husband and I watched the DVD, followed the initial "set up" training instructions separately for each dog, and then used the shake trainer only when needed. I have never, ever seen anything work so quickly. We've tried bark collars, treat and clicker training, yelling, spray bottles, time outs, literally everything you can think of, and none of it has worked. I initially had my doubts that this would work, because we tried coins in a can before and it did nothing. I don't know why this is different, but i works.

At this point, all I have to do is show them the shake trainer and the barking and other bad behavior stops immediately.

If you're frustrated and have tried everything, I highly recommend this. It's like dream!
