We purchased this and just put it together. Easy to assemble. Made well. We adopted a shelter dog and we're having some marking issues. Only when I go to do something else. We put his kennel cage inside of this along with his dishes and he went right in , likes it . When I go out was concerned about him getting to his water . He can do that now.

He never wants to eat and he instantly went to his food dish and emptied it. So he is liking having his own space.

Love this pet pen. Easy to assemble and light weight. No pinching your fingers like with wire pens. Can use all panels or make two small pens (of course one would not have a door).

I got this for our gal. The first thing I did was buy an extra panel, I do not recommend that. It made the pen less stable and my girl knew too as she tested it. Otherwise then that with out the extra panels it is perfect.

My new puppy has her own space. Delivery was amazingly fast. The only reason I gave it 4 stars it's because it doesn't have a floor. But given its flexibility and ease of use I do love this product. I use 6 panels instead of the 8 and she loves her area and she's made it her own.

I found this pen to be excellent for whelping maltese puppies and keeping them safe and contained until they had new family homes. The price also is reasonable compared to others and you can change the shape and size of it to accommodate your needs. Right now a German shepard 3 month old puppy is in it and it is still holding up but I do not recommend it for larger breeds. I plan on whelping puppies in it again. Great product.

Since we bought this containment system we have been delighted to find our rescued Staffordshire Terrier, Elli (Pit Bull to the uninitiated) now knows her limits. Even when outside with my wife and I, she will not leave the limits we set for her with or without the collar. We live in the country and did not want her to wander into the cow, or horse, or alpaca pastures that surround us. We know she is safe from road traffic but has plenty of room to roam when she is outside un-attended. I purchased this collar for my dog that has the proverbial selective hearing. However, I was unaware of a major flaw when I purchased this set. There is a 5 second delay for switching on the handset when it goes into sleep mode.

As anyone will know when using these collars, timing is critical to correct unwanted behaviour. When the handset is not used for a few minutes, it goes into a "sleep mode" & to re-activate it, you have to hold down one of the buttons for approximately 5 seconds for it to switch back on again.

I thought the set was faulty until I contacted the seller, who explained this is what happens. This is the response I received from the seller: "If the remote turns into sleep mode, you must press on the "mode" button for at least 5 seconds to activate the remote"

Therefore, to me, any correction was futile as the unwanted behaviour had already happened & correcting my dog after the incident achieves nothing.

If they could resolve this sleep mode on the handset, this would be a good little set. As it is, this set is ineffective, in my opinion, unless you can constantly press the mode button to prevent it from going into sleep mode.

In fairness, the seller was extremely helpful & courteous & gave me a prompt refund, which is why I gave this product 2 stars rather than 1.

I just wanted to share my experience, so that others did not have to go through the same problems I did. I have now spent a little more & purchased the Petsafe Yard & Park Remote Dog Trainer PDT00-10603 which is absolutely superb & far superior quality. You can buy these for $60 (inc. shipping) through a well known auction site.

This product saved a dog. We got our dog from the humane society. He had been taken from a pound the day he was to be uthanized. He was the same mix (bassett/Corgi) as the dog our kids had grown up with and passed away. We picked him up and quickly realized why he was at a shelter. Hyper, distructive... would run and thought any sort of reprimand was play time. He chewed up leather boot and tore up a room of carpet. We tried to take him back but they could not take him. This colar was our last resort. After 2 days he is becoming the dog we knew he could be. He is allowing us to bond with him positively. We are no longer just punishing him. He does associate the controller with the shock but not the colar...we have only gone up to 25 on the colar (100available) this product has literally saved this dog...it stopped the cycle of behaviors and was exactly what we needed. For the price it was perfect. I do not know about the longevity but I do not think we will need it much longer.

I just recieved the item in the mail today. Everything came brand new and was wrapped nicely. Putting the collar together was quick and easy, the one thing i would have liked was to have the instructions include a page about putting the collar together. its very self explanatory, so it was no problem for me, but for others who are less adept at any sort of assembly, it would have been nice for them to have thorough instructions included. As soon as I got the collar I put it together and programmed the remote to act on one collar since I only have one dog (but the remote works for two). Its very light and I was almost worried it would be cheap, but I feel confident it will hold up. It works nicely too, i tested the setting for shock on 2 (1-100), on myself, and it works without causing pain.

I put it on my dog, who we cannot break of jumping on people and doors (chewing EVERYTHING and digging also), and on setting 2 she was already catching on. I'm very happy that such a low setting is teaching my 1 year old hyper lab to mind her manners around people. I have a hard time teaching her by raising my voice, and it makes me uncomfortable to raise my hand to her or discipline her psychologically in a way such as cesaer milan would. Such methods simply DO NOT work with this dog! She is smart, too clever for her own good, and she knows how to call the bluff. It was very upsetting to have to decide to get a shock collar, but I'm happy to think she wont need it for long, I used it once as she jumped on the door (which she continously does and scratches it) on the low setting and she immediatly put her ears back and sat down. since then, it has been 35 minutes since I used the collar and she is behaving wonderfully.

I hope it works as effectively when she tries to run up to strangers, she loves to be pet, but she makes a strait beeline for people-even across the streetand it can be scary for us and to folks who arent comfortable around dogs. They don't realize she just wants to play becuase she has such intense energy! As long as it keeps her safe from destructive habits, keeps her from running towards strangers, and helps to keep her from running in the street, I think getting this collar will be worth it! The functions all seem to work, but if i have any other comments about this collar and the remote I will udpate!

This product will work good, but I had to take the batteries out to reset it everyday. I am on my 3rd collar, the plastic on the side that hold the collar will break. Both of mine broke within 2 weeks. The lack of instructions is frustrating.

Biggest issue is that it shuts down with lack of movement, and to restart, you have to remove collar, unscrew pins, open box, remove a battery for 15 seconds, reinstall the battery, reassemble the the unit and replace it on dog.

Easy Walk Harness - Medium, Black

This helped me train my dog to heel off-leash. If you understand how to train your dog, this will be an amazingly helpful tool.

However, I found that the adjustments slip very easily. This caused the front chest strap to fall. If I pulled when it fell, I'd be pulling on my pups legs, making him trip.

You CANNOT use this as an everyday harness. It's not made so you can yank on a dog that is constantly pulling. If you do this, you'll run into the "my dog walks at an angle" problem, and find the straps loosening up all the time.

Also, a warning to people with dogs with deep chests relative to height i.e. Boston Terriers, Frenchies, Doxies, Pits, etc. Your dog won't fit the harness so well. It'll take a lot of adjustment, and you'll never get it the way the picture says you should, so don't even bother.

Let me preface this review by saying that this is not a full time harness. This is simply a training tool that will teach your dog to walk nicely on a leash.

Before trying this type of harness I had tried different types of training methods on my hound mix and different types of collars, yet my dog would just pull until the point of hurting himself. I figured that I had nothing to lose by trying this harness and it seemed more humane than many of the other training methods.

After using this harness for the first time, I saw an immediate difference. Pulling ceased to allow him to move forward it allowed sideways movement which was not his goal of pulling. After about a month of consistently using this on walks his desire to pull had drastically reduced. After 3 months of this collar on walks, his desire to pull was reduced to such a degree that I don't have to use it anymore.

Essentially, this harness is a means to an end. If you use it with training in mind and are firm and consistent with your training, then it works great within a few months. Now, I have him back on a more conventional collar and he doesn't pull anymore.

Our 1yr old Boston is a terrible puller. I had tried a different harness that while comfortable for him (and much better then a regular collar), did absolutely no good with his pulling. Purchased this item to help me train my new shih tzu puppy Chewy to ring a doorbell when he wanted to go out. It was great fun and Chewy along with my other dogs learned quickly. In 10 minutes he learned to stand on his hind legs for a treat. With the small ball he learned how to ring the bell in about the same amount of time. The wires are almost 2 inches apart.. that wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to touch more than one wire at a time to activate the mat.. my cat and dog don't even have to try to jump over this, they can just walk right over it because the width between the wires makes it nearly impossible for them to touch more than one wire at a time... I wish it had said something in the description about having to touch 2 or more wires, the pictures show a gap between the wires but I figured it was ok since touching one would be likely.. touching 2 though... the paw would have to be huge, and then if that was the case you have a big pet who can walk over the whole mat all together..

I tested the shock, it's mild enough to not cause any pain but startling and just a tad uncomfortable, I think it would work to deter pets from sleeping on a couch or something. But it didn't work for keeping pets out of a room or off the counter tops for me..

Also, it takes 3 AA batteries, not a 9volt as advertized. I've only had it a day so I can't attest to the length of time those 3 AA batteries would last.

SENSE-ation No-Pull Dog Harness - Medium/Large (Wide) Black

After blowing through just about every device in the book to get my young, drivey American Staffordshire Terrier to walk without dragging me or my husband down the street, I can reliably recommend this product as the best of all of them. It doesn't irritate the skin like a pinch collar does, and it's more effective, because it doesn't rely on a pinch that some dogs (like mine) can't even feel. It directs the dog, and they don't seem to be able to resist.

I also tried the Easy Walk, mostly because I gave my first Sense-ation harness away to someone who was rescuing a pitbull puppy, and Easy Walk was the only front-attachment harness my local pet store carried. Now I'm back online ordering the Sense-ation. It fits better, has fewer moving parts (no shoulder buckle and no martingale front) and the webbing seems to be softer and more durable.

This is the harness used and preferred at our local Animal Care and Control in San Francisco. Because the clip controller is at the front of the chest it makes it very easy to control the dog. Even a big dog walked by a volunteer is in control of that volunteer; if he lunges at another dog or to get ahead he will end up flopping over before he pulls his walker off his or her feet. We use it by clipping the harness to the collar (we use a martingale clip collar). This is the best!

Although I do really like this product, especially compared to a similar knock off that we bought at a fair last year, it still does not prevent a large dog from dragging you. Granted, I have two very large Alaskan Malamutes (100 lbs and 120 lbs) and I'm very petite, so if they want to get at something, they will drag me no matter what I'm walking them with; although it might be with much less force. When they are not trying to get at another dog/animal, they are much easier to handle with this harness. Overall, I do like this product and the only way I will walk them is with one of these harnesses.

We have been using the Sense-ation harness for one year now and it has worked very well with correcting our dog's tendency to pull ahead of us as we walk or run. We had, previously, used two different brands of head collars (e.g., Gentle Leader) with mixed success: uncomfortable and jumpy in the beginning, settled down wonderfully for a few months, then slight but uncharacteristic "rebellious" behavior and willingness to tug back on the leash despite attachment to head collar. Our Labradoodle would also paw her face over and over with the head collar on and for a while when removed. I would surmise that it was irritating her.

However, she, immediately, took to the Sense-ation harness and did not show any resistance or irritation to wearing it. Not tight, not loose and she seemed not to even notice that she was wearing it. Holding a short leash was enough for her to "sense" the tight leash needed to be slackened, so she would pull ahead very little or not at all. Whether it was discomfort or other sensation she felt, I do not know. But it works... right from the get-go!

She responds to a curt but not loud, "Hey!" So, in the beginning, just a slight tug on the leash while saying "Hey" was enough to "tell" her to come back a bit and pull abreast rather than forging ahead. After a while, "Hey" was enough. Every so often, if she keeps abreast, a gentle "Good Girl" reinforces the behavior. With squirrels, I wouldn't place a bet yet as she displays distinct hunting behaviour (stalking, pointing).

We clean/disinfect the collar by:

-soaking 10-15 minutes in a mixture of water (1 qt), dishwashing liquid (1/2 tsp), distilled white vinegar (2 tbsp), household bleach (2 tbsp) (do outdoors if good ventilation is not available)

-vigorously shaking/agitating for about a minute while soaking

-rinsing well in fresh cold water

-hanging dry (in front of a fan works well)

I have a bouncy, 60 pound boxer dog who needed a little more guidance during our walks. At first, I was really excited about this harness...previously relying on a choke collar was no longer effective, as she would choke herself trying to charge at other dogs. The harness seemed to work well, making it easier for me to control her and she no longer tried to walk in front of me. But now, just a couple weeks later, I am seeing areas of wear on her body. Most notably, there is a rough spot on the back of her right elbow where the large plastic buckle rubs and there are large spots on her shoulder blades (where the fur is beginning to fall out) where the front strap rubs. I would say that I have the harness adjust to a loose setting, so I am disappointed to see these areas starting to develop. I bought this harness because it claims to be made specifically for breeds with shorter hair/sensitive skin...yet it seems that the only strap thats softer is the belly strap, and the rest of the harness is made of rough nylon. Guess I'm still on the hunt for the perfect harness...

I think this is a good product. Has both stimulation mode and just vibration mode which is great. My dog barks at vehicles with loud exhaust and other random things, when he first barked with this on the freaked out that it 'corrected' him. He learned very quick as in he almost now thinks its punishment in a way if it's on so he knows not to bark.

Key on sizing: it just says YS300 over 10 lbs. YS500 over 20 lbs. may dog is 35 lbs so I order YS500, way too big. YS500 probable should say over 60lbs. They both have straps you can cut which are long, my dogs neck girth is 24" and the YS300 strap had 6+" left.

We got this collar because our 7+ year old lab mix was barking so much, she was driving everyone crazy, including our 3 other dogs. She has always been a huge barker but she just got to the point where it was really intolerable. All the behavioral methods we tried weren't working, and I tried those other methods for a year before trying this! This collar was recommended by our dog trainer specifically because it has a vibration only setting. The first day, I set it on vibrate because she was trained to an invisible fence pretty easily so thought it might work at that level. She noticed it but kept barking, so the next day I turned it up just to the next level. She barked, it zapped her, she cried, then she shut up and she hasn't barked for the past two days. I have it back to the vibration only setting because I don't want her to cry, and she seems to have gotten the message. So, although I have only been using this for a week, I think that if you need to get your dog to be quiet, this will do it. She is a 60+ pound dog with a big neck, and it fits her just fine even though it says small to medium size.

Our dog is small (12 pounds) and I had no problem cutting the collar down to fit her. I only had to set it on 2 in order to get her to quit barking. I tried this product to stop nuisance barking at the door when doorbell rings. If you follow the training tips that they provide before you use it, you cannot fail. You do need to periodically enforce it and go back to the initial steps to ensure the dogs continue to be affected by it. It does seem to work well with multiple dogs as long as you train each one individually before using it. I recommend it highly!

Over the last several years it seems like I have become somewhat of an amateur dog-trainer. I work with 6-7 doggies on a regular basis. I am a big proponent of clicker training and use it almost exclusively. The only problem that I have with it is that, although it is great for reinforcing positive behavior, it's not always successful--at least for me--when trying to curtail negative behavior. The shake trainer operates on a similar principle as clicker-training so I thought that I would give it a shot.

The conditioning portion of this training program is extremely simple. However, that is where I ran into some problems. The first two dogs (a Yorkie and a Miniature Blue Heeler) took to it right away but my friend's smooth-coat Dachshund was very frightened by the shaker and I could not continue working with her. Whenever I pick it up now she runs away and hides.

The next dog that I tried to work with was a large, kind of wild behaving, pit bull mix named Bowzer. I have worked with him using clicker trainer just a little and I thought that he would be a good prospect for the Shaker. When I first shook it he tore out and hid behind some bushes. Although he has known me for quite a while he suddenly became afraid of me and it took a while for him to get over it. However, his "sister" is a yellow Lab mix and it worked perfectly on her.

Beyond the initial conditioning I have found to Shaker system to be very effective when combined with consistent and firm vocal commands. I use it mostly for stopping the dogs from barking at strangers and other passersby and it has been very effective. I will continue using it and I will recommend it to others.

I received the Shake Trainer on a Friday and by Sunday my Chahuahua had stopped barking, really. The first time I shook the device per instructions, she ran off. Wow, we thought, maybe something will work. Within about 10 minutes,she started barking again. I picked up the device, and she ran off and stopped barking. We were in shock! But, a few minutes later, she started to bark again, I picked up the device, she kept barking. Shook it, kept barking. And, that was about the end of it. Never again did it work.

I am not sure if anyone mentions it in the reviews but this product does not emit a painful, high pitched sound like you may think instead, it is a ridiculously loud metal container that seems to be full of rocks. It is not only annoying as can be to humans, it's probably just a stupid annoyance to my dog, too.

We have three dogs, two of them puppies. Getting them to listen, and stop barking was impossible. The constant noise was driving us nuts.

I received this at work today, a mere 4 hours later...peace and quiet.

My husband and I watched the DVD, followed the initial "set up" training instructions separately for each dog, and then used the shake trainer only when needed. I have never, ever seen anything work so quickly. We've tried bark collars, treat and clicker training, yelling, spray bottles, time outs, literally everything you can think of, and none of it has worked. I initially had my doubts that this would work, because we tried coins in a can before and it did nothing. I don't know why this is different, but i works.

At this point, all I have to do is show them the shake trainer and the barking and other bad behavior stops immediately.

If you're frustrated and have tried everything, I highly recommend this. It's like dream!

The collar is good quality,but you need to order 4 inches longer than your dog's neck size as the collar is measured from tip of tongue to tip of buckel. The 20 inch was too short for dog's 18 inch neck.

Its important to note that this collar is measured end to end and not from buckle to middle hole like some collars. This means it is much much to small for my little guy and returning from Aus will be a pain. Its also very very stiff to when received and I wont find out if it will soften over time. I have no idea what the leather has been rolled around, but what ever has been painted over the back does not really look like it will last on long, though for all I know it might. Have given it 3 stars as it is still what it says it is just not what I was expecting that meant...

Other reviews had said this ran small, so I ordered the larger 20" for my dog. Collar arrived from one of their suppliers, not directly from Amazon. It barely reached 19" to the very tip of the leather, the other inch was the end half of the buckle! The first hole was more than 2" from the end, and on this buckle, when buckled on the first hole it barely fit under the buckle and stuck out you needed to go to the 2nd hole before it went through far enough to lay flat so you end up with only a 16" collar.

Thank God for Amazon, and their wonderful return process!!! You click a few buttons, print out the return sheet, and they automatically schedule UPS to come to your home for pickup the next day with a return label, postage paid. A few days for them to get the item back, a few more days and my credit was done, postage and all. Sure does take a lot of the pain away from the disappointment of a poorly designed product. It's great to know whatever I buy here they guarantee, even if it was from one of their suppliers. I have already purchased 5 or 6 other items since this one ...

This collar is pretty small. Needs to be used on pretty small dogs. The 12" is measured from the beginning of the metal clasp to the END of the collar. The last hole is likely 11" from the end of the clasp and 10.5" from the beginning of the leather. I returned this because I need a collar that is bigger. My dog needs 12" from the beginning of the leather to the hole. Amazon took care of me though, so i'm a very satisfied consumer.

These rolled Leather collars are made with some serious hardware and I have found thru the years the rolled leather least interferes with any dogs coat. My still overly rambunctious yellow lab Buddy pulls on his lead to tow me around the block, but the collar shows no sign of stress or strain. (I wish I could say the same about my arm!).

I ordered this from England because it's hard to find different sizes and colors from US vendors. It took a long time to get here, but I expected that since it had to cross the pond. For the first few days it was great my puppy didn't pull and was much easier to control. But, now the nose strap has come apart and we're again left with a standard neck-only collar. I think I'll try to sew the Halti back together, but I'm really disappointed that it didn't hold up well at all.

I will swear by this! I have a VERY mentally head strong and strong pulling lab/golden mix that is 50 lbs and drags me around like a rag doll, even after walk training classes. I bought the size 3 for my 80 lb lab and it fits well. She use to drag me around the neighborhood and I dreaded our daily walks. After comparing several head collars I decided on the Halti because of the padding on the nose part and the safety mechanism that allows you to attach it to the dog's regular collar--in case your dog manages to get the Halti off. The Halti is an excellent product. My dog no longer pulls and walks nicely. I'm looking forward to longer walks when the weather gets warmer. The product comes with a pamphlet that teaches you how to get your dog use to wearing the collar by rewarding the behavior with treats. It was simple to follow and within 15 minutes my dog had no problem with wearing it. I highly recommend this especially for those with large dogs.

We've experienced nothing but success with Halti products over the years, using them on multiple dogs in our household. Follow the instructions in the package, and be patient... dogs don't like things attached to their heads or faces, but with gentle guidance and a supply of desirable treats, they will accept the Halti, fairly quickly.

Placing the Halti on the dog is similar to bridling a horse; the desire to lead the dog by the head is the same as leading a horse. Your dog will most likely paw at the bridle, trying to remove it... don't let him/her do this.... it seems once successful, they manage to do it more quickly the next time.

My biggest suggestion would be to rinse the Halti after every use, particularly if your dog drools excessively. The bridle fabric will absorb the saliva, and eventually this will cause rot and premature product failure. Simply rinse thoroughly in cold water and drip dry.

Our most recent purchase was a gift for a relative with a rambunctious large dog... a golden retriever that is difficult to control and walk for an older woman. So far, she's reported success with this item, after a bit of training. Hopefully this will prevent her dog from pulling on the leash, potentially causing her to fall and become injured.

I bought the Halti hoping to stop my Siberian Husky/Malamute from biting the leash and walking me. He HATES the Halti and spends his entire walk trying to pull it off of his face.
