Was looking for a light weight training lead longer than the 30ft found in most pet stores. This product is perfect for recall training at distances. Cotton material is light and doesn't tangle up in itself. Would certainly recommend this lead and Grooming for prompt shipping.

We bought this leash for our Australian Shepherd. He needs some work to do and plenty of exercise, but we have no nearby enclosed areas for him to run around in. Fortunately, there's a nearby clearing, but we wanted to keep him on a leash for both legal and safety reasons. (There's a street nearby, though it's usually quite calm.)

This 50' lead allows for us to throw the ball a reasonable distance while still holding onto it, or a bit farther while still being able to step on it or grab it if necessary. I think that if I had one comment about it, I'd request a slightly larger clip, but that's only a minor complaint. It fits securely and we don't mind getting it dirty since it's relatively inexpensive and easy to wash.

This is a good training lease. The material dries easy, since my dog loves the water. It is a bit slippery to hold onto and will burn you if the dog runs, so make sure you have a firm hold on the loop at the end.

It was perfect for my mutt. He's quite big and heavy, but this leash was durable enough to handle him. Since he likes to stray too far at times, it was a good thing to have around for walking on trails or exploring wildlife. Very good purchase.

I read the two comments about the PetSafe radio-controlled wireless fence system which uses RE-67 6v batteries and was completely puzzled by their reviews. So much so, I was compelled to give my review.

Firstly, I have been using the PetSafe RFA-67 batteries in my dog's collar for 5 1/2 years, and they never give out in just 2 weeks. Perhaps the person actually bought some other brand and wrote a review here? Over the years I have used them, they have consistently lasted 3-4 months each. I never remove them from my dog's collar and my transmitter is always left turned on. I do, however, only put the collar on my dog as I let him outside, and remove the collar when I let him back in the house.

Secondly, the collar has never just randomly shocked my dog. The only time time this could happen is if you were to load your dog inside your car while he is wearing the collar. The metal car blocks the signal so in essence it is as if your dog has moved outside his containment zone.

I think the PetSafe system is fabulous for situations like mine, when you have a large property that you want your dog to have partial access to and you don't want to dig out a trench to lay the wire.

We planned to train our dog to the system when he was 4 months old. In preparation for it, we never allowed him to go outside what would be the containment zone (so he was always on leash in our yard prior to training him to the PetSafe system).

We've been using this system for about 5 years for our lab and love it. We were able to fine-tune the settings so that we can keep him JUST where we want him he can't go past certain spots inside the house or outside. And we can change that area if needed. It's also extremely convenient that we can bring this along with us when we travel or he stays with my parents he knows by now exactly what the beeping means and figures out his new boundaries extremely quickly and is never shocked, even when in a new place with a new "safe zone". In fact, I don't think he's been shocked more than twice with this.

We now have another dog and will be buying a 2nd collar for him.

The one downside to this that we have noticed it seems that cars can affect the wireless radius. When we park our cars in different spots in the driveway sometimes it "pushes" the radius in. Again, the dog hears the beep and figures out his radius has changed though.

I don't normally do reviews but I felt as though I needed to speak up here. This unit has given our beagle harrier his freedom to run around in our yard. We live in a deed restricted community that only allows 3 ft high fences--which our dog could easily jump. Now with this fence, he knows his boundaries and stays in the yard. And when we had the old style in the ground fence, if he ran though the barrier, he would not want to come back for fear of being shocked again. With this unit, it actually encourages our dog to come back into the safe zone. He has only tested this once....chasing a bunny. As he left the safe area, I called him back. He turned back around, ran to me and learned that he could safely come home with no fear of being shocked. I have not had any problems with the batteries either. Ours usually last about 3 months before I have to change it. I buy them here on Amazon because they have the best prices around! It sounds like (in another review) that their actual collar may be malfunctioning. We did have to get a new collar for our dog because the clip broke. However, we did not have to get a new receiver (found on the collar). We just bought another regular collar and my husband attached the receiver to the new collar. Another bonus, my brother-in-law also has this wireless fence for his dog and when we go visit (3 hrs away), we only bring our collar and both dogs are free to run around his yard. (Our dog just follows the lead of their dog and somehow "knows" where the boundaries are.) Same goes for when they come visit us! This is the best wireless fence ever!

My dog is a stubborn puppy that is now contained to 180 ft area where he can run and play and just be a puppy. I had trouble with him running away to chase a squirrel or rabbit and getting distracted and not coming back. Or he would run away and jump on people walking by to greet them. With the fence we no longer have these problems. The training was very informative and we followed it as directed. However, level 3 didn't do a thing for our dog. He just shook his ears and kept on running. We had to keep retrieving him on leash and bringing him back into the containment area. He realized that after he ran thru the fence it would stop shocking him after a while and he would just keep on going but was scared of the noise because the collar keeps beeping. So we set it on level 5. He ran thru the fence again to chase a car then got shocked, he yelped pretty good this time, we took him back into the containment area and he NEVER tried it again! Now the sound is enough to detour him from running thru it. Even for a rabbit or squirrel he won't go past the fence. He is a happy puppy that can run, chase animals, dig and play in the creek but most importantly he is now SAFE! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Simply, this system is easy.......easy to put in place and easy to train the dogs. I have a 1 year old JR and a 10 year old Shepherd. Both had the basics down in two days and were trustworthy on it by the end of the week. We've been using it almost two months and I'm considering putting both their collars on tone only. The area the dogs have to roam in is actually quite large, I didn't visualize so much freedom for them. The older dog is having some problem relaxing in his new area and stays pretty close to the house but is slowly venturing further out. Four years ago, I purchased the PDT00-10603 generation of this product and I continue to be an avid consumer of this product. I am pasting my prior review below. But, I would like to provide an update on concerns over cruelty, which I go into with the prior review.

I use the trainer to control my dog during hikes and it works. When I pull it out and place the trainer on the counter, my dog jumps up and barks with excitement. While it charges, she lies down and "baby sits" the charger. This demonstrates, in part, that Tobi does not have any issues with this device or concerns over cruelty. It's a great tool!

Subject: Wonderful tool; fixed a critical issue

My wife and I love to hike with our German Shepherd. However, her (the dog) behavior had become an issue. Whenever, she sees another dog or horse, she loses her mind, and we lose control of her. We did not want to resolve ourselves to hike with her on a leash.

Now that we have this device she "comes" on command, and not on the second or third time we call. She comes the first time, and to my hand. Now we can hike with her, and gain control when we see dogs, horses, and those who do not share our enthusiasm for dogs.

I like to add this devise is not cruel in any form. It has a dial of 8 settings. I tried it on myself. I could not feel "1" at all. "2" and "3" tingled. "4" felt uncomfortable (not painful), and that is where our dog is set.

The only issue is at home. We have an "invisible fence", which works on a very similar principle. The issue is that when I "beep" her or "zap" her at home, she becomes very confused. Hence, we only use it primarily for our hikes, which was our desired goal anyways.

The conclusion is that I highly recommend it for hiking or rather "off-leash" walks. You may have mixed results at home, if you have an "invisible fence". Although without the "invisible fence" issue, I believe it would be very effective for any sort of training.

Bottom line is that it works and I wish had I bought this tool earlier.

My rescue dog is a Flat Coated Retriever. She has become more and more disobedient over the months since I have gotten her. I love her very much, but was at the end of my rope and was ready to return her after she repeatedly ran into the 55 mph road right off my acreage. She also found it necessary to run into the farmers field adjacent to my yard so she could entice the neighbor's 3 border collies in an aggressive attempt at dominance. Although I have huge yard, it would not be cost effective to fence in 12 acres. Let me also say that my dog KNOWS the commands, "come", "sit", "stay", "drop it", and "no". She would obey these commands indoors, but once we got outside, no amounts of cut up steak would entice her into obeying if she had seen or smelled a squirrel or rabbit. I had also attempted to change her behavior by asserting my dominance as the pack leader. If she disobeyed me, I would immediately tell her "NO", and make her lay down on her side for 10 minutes while I held her there. Obviously, this only worked sometimes and was difficult to do if I had my 3 year old with me outside in the snow at cold temperatures.

I have to say that, for some reason, there is a general societal consensus that shock collars are bad. I subscribed to that until I adopted my Flat Coated Retriever. I had successfully trained an Australian Shepherd and thought getting a rescue dog would be the same amount of ease to train. I was wrong. My rescue dog was a 3 years old retriever with an unknown history and didn't have one ounce of shepherd tendencies. She is a hunting dog and likes to chase EVERYTHING that moves. After reading an article online written by Lou Castle, who is a police dog trainer, my mind was changed. I highly recommend his website to anyone wanting a well trained dog using "ecollars". […]. Needless to say, I got this shock collar and it changed my dog in 1 day! The first day I used it to stop a chase into the road and to stop the aggression with the neighbor dogs. I also learned that my dog had already been "etrained". Once I used the shock collar, she was a velcro dog, continually heeling at my side. It was magnificent.

Finally, for anyone wanting to buy a shock collar for their dog. There is definitely a right and a wrong way to use a shock collar. Please do your research before you decide to correct behavior. You have to give an alternate command when you shock so your dog knows what is expected instead of the bad behavior. When my dog starts chasing, and is given a light shock (we only need to use the sound now without the shock) we would say "come" at the same time so she would know what to do to make the sound/shock stop. Once she takes 4-5 steps toward me, the sound/shocks stop and she is praised when she gets to me with a pat on the head and a few "good girls."

We got a young female hound mix from the ASPCA, and couldn't keep her in the yard. You know hounds: nose down and they're off. A neighbor suggested a radio collar.

We bought this one. I didn't go through the training regimen. She was too timid to work with. All we did was walk her around the yard on a leash some, giving the negative tone and negative voice tones when she tried to leave the boundary. Within two weeks, I started using a long lead and giving a low setting shock along with the negative voice. Within a month, she ran free with the collar and no lead.

It has been 8 months since we started with this product. We shocked her maybe 10 times TOTAL on setting 4. For the past 6, she hasn't left our property. We put the collar on every time she is out and not tied up. She rarely even tests the boundary, but a negative voice is enough to break her from a scent, another dog, or a person and have her head back to the middle of the yard with her tail tucked. She walks right along the unfenced boundary but doesn't cross. I've even taken her to a public park and she listens to the tone and negative commands. She comes when called.

Great product. Use the collar right; making sure it is snug and the electrodes are on the skin, so a low dose is felt. Use TLC with the dog. There should be no need to shock many times.

I ordered this as a replacement due to running the remote for the last unit through the washing machine. It was sufficiently close in price that I just bought a whole new set rather than replacing the remote. I was quite pleased with the original unit and this would give me a spare collar and charger.

I could tell on unpacking it that things had changed and the collar appeared to be more cheaply made now. After using it for a month the battery life on the collar started to degrade rapidly. The prongs on the charging unit broke and would have rendered things useless if I didn't have the charger from the old unit. Now the collar won't charge at all, just three months after having received this new unit. It appears that they've cheapened the build quality a great degree on this product and I'm horribly disappointed. I would not recommend this product at all and I'd be suspicious of anything that PetSafe is putting out these days.

We have a 65 pound, very stubborn dog that will only listen when he wants to. We had put him through obedience classes and while I think they were great he only listened to commands when it was convenient for him. This product has changed all of that and he is now very obedient. The first time I used the product I had to turn it up relatively high before I ever got a response from him (6). But after only one time of zapping him at that level I have never had to zap him ever again. Now just the warning sound and he will listen to any command I give. He does get scared when I put the collar on him but it is just a mental thing and I hope to break him of this. So I would take the advice of others here and put the collar on 1/2 before and 1/2 after a training session and do fun activities with it on so your dog doesn't associate the collar with negative feelings.

I like the quality of the product as everything feels really sturdy and doesn't feel like it will break. The fake-leather collar is sturdy and very adjustable. I like the option to only give a warning message as I don't want to zap my dog. The charger will charge both the collar and the handset at once and no batteries are needed (This is essential). I don't have any battery issues like other people have reported and the charge seems to last forever.

The concept is great. It REALLY helped discipline a hard-to-train dog.

However, the quality is poor. We actually purchased two (two dogs) and within a month one of the charging connectors was bent. Every time I wanted to charge it, I had to get out a steak knife and straighten the prongs out. They eventually broke off completely and that is how that collar broke.

Also, BOTH collars had problems with the on/off button jamming. After about 2-3 months (with part-time use) I had to jam a pen in the button to turn it on/off. This worked for a few weeks until the pother collar eventually jammed completely and now cannot be turned, that is how the second collar broke.

Overall, incredibly disappointed with the quality. With this price, I expected MUCH better. I am emailing the company today to see if they will replace them (and will update this review). However, I am still concerned because both collars had the exact problems in just a few months. We always made sure the take care of them as this was an investment over our budget. Also, we only used them part-time, I am sure they would have lasted less than 2-3 months with regular use.

Never used training collar before for my dogs. Hated the idea of it, but no fences here in the country and lots to hurt a small pup out there. Once the collar was on tight enough (too loose at first because I was being too careful), she got the message. She listens to all of her commands much better (without wearing the collar) and has ALWAYS come back after a buzz and most of the time before with just a command. This is huge. We can keep our dog safe and can go back to leash-free play! On the negative side: The collar seems to need to be charged far more often than the directions suggest.

We purchased this in hopes to help calm our dogs down. They are great dog, but still have a lot of "puppy" in them. I mostly use the "beep" feature, that's enough to make the dogs realize that we do not like their current action. The remote and the collar stay well charged, they stay charged for over a week.

I've tried many different types of treat bags. The ones that look sort of like a hacky-sack and are supposed to attach to your jeans or other pants by a velcro tab or a clip? They last about six months if you're lucky. They are cheap and it shows in the performance. Another problem with those is that to open them you have to use a drawstring, which you have to remember to close. I have often bent over and dumped a ton of treats out because I forgot to pull the drawstring closed. The old carpenter's apron is also cheap, works okay, but has the same problem when you bend over, and I don't know about you, but I often go places after working with my dog and end up in a retail establishment wearing a treat bag. The carpenter's apron is not a good look. The last bag I bought before this one was slightly less expensive and sounded great on paper (or on screen) but it's spring-loaded opening was so tiny I could hardly get my hand down inside it to retrieve a treat. It was actually painful to use, and drove me back to my carpenter's apron. Better to look like a dork than to feel like I'm feeding a shark all day just to get to the treats. So I came back to the bag I'd owned once before (my dog managed to get my old one about four times and finally killed it). This bag is also spring-loaded, but when open there is ample space for your hand and the treats. It's easy to pop it back closed with one hand, which is important, because we know where your other hand will be (on the leash). It is big enough to hold a good session's worth (or a walk's worth) of treats, and it is attractive enough so that if you end up wearing it inside a store, it looks like a fanny pack or purse. The mesh pocket on the front I've never found to be very useful because it's too loose to keep a grip on anything, but as a whole, this is the best treat bag on the market that I've seen or tried.

And the colors are all nice, which is icing on the cake.

I've had several different treat pouches, and this is probably my favorite. I've been using it for probably 4 months now, and I'm very happy with it.

The hinge is what makes the product. This one stays open when I want it open and stays closed when I want it closed. I bought another similar bag at the same time for my husband (different brand, solid green canvas with the same hinge), but on the other one, the fabric is so stiff that the hinge doesn't work as well as this one and tends to close when I don't want it to.

Very happy with this product. Only slight drawback is that there is really no outside pocket for things like your ID or keys. The mesh pouch on the front is a bit flimsey, and I've had my clicker fall out of it on several occasions. There is a fabric divider on the inside that velcros closed so you could put something small in there and have it be separate from your treats.

This bag is quite large and you can fit several ziploc baggies full of treats. It does have a seperation so there are places for high and low rewards. My main complaints: 1. No place for a clicker, etc and yes the outside mesh pocket is useless. 2. The waist strap does not fit all! I had to return it because it didn't fit. 3. The second one I ordered broke as soon as teh spring was used once. I am afraid that it will just break again if I buy another one. However, if you have large hands this is a great bag and as long as it isn't broken it will stay open/closed until you change it.

I've used an Easy Walk Harness for my 4-year-old Labradoodle since he was a puppy, and still consider it the best! It allows the human partner to be in control, without choking or hurting the canine companion.

I love this harness. My dog is a very energetic 3-yr old, 70lb lab mix, and this is the only style harness that prevents him from pulling. I bought a different type for my smaller dogs and loved it, but they don't make a size to fit larger dogs. This one works similarly in that it is comfortable for the dog and works on the premiss that when a dog's weight is pulled off the front paws s/he is submissive. Works well.

I first used this on my dad's 90 lb ridgeback who I walked with my 85lb dog. Needless to say, if they saw a squirrel I had to run after it as well and it was of course a huge risk if we all had to run in the middle of the road. The dog can still pull with this, but he hasn't been able to have more control than me with this harness. I now use it on a 50+lb hound mix puppy I just rescued. I first used the gentle leader for her since the shelter was using one, but she would spend most of the walk trying to get it off and since she has droopy eyes (a hound) I didn't think it was good for her to be rubbing her paws near her eyes so much since she could get an infection. So I got one of these harnesses for her as well. I find it works just as well as the gentle leaders, but the dogs don't seem to mind having them on as much as those. Keep in mind that they tend to love to chew on the strap on the front if they can get their mouth around it (i.e. in the car etc). Both my dad's dog and her have chewed through them. So keep them supervised if you keep them on when they're not walking for some reason. Also, for my dad's dog the chafing of the straps caused his hair to be shorter in some spots, but I haven't noticed this on my new dog.

For dogs 25# or larger this is a very good leash that holds up well to the amount of use I get from leashes as a trainer. It's too long and heavy for smaller dogs, though. The 6' length is, perhaps, a bit too long if you are still training your dog to walk with the leash loose. If your dog is a puller, you still need to use a no-pull harness such as EZYDog's Chest Plate harness or a Wonder Walker. The nice thing about bungee leashes is that they don't get caught underfoot which is especially nice working with a smaller dog. There are bungee leashes less expensive and a little shorter but I tend to go for higher quality because of the heavy use I get from dog products. This one is heavy duty, for sure. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I thought the price was a little on the high side.

I agree with the other reviewer that it is flimsy material. It's like umbrella material. However, I knew this when I bought it. We have a husky/lab mix, she is about 40 pounds. We used it to help keep her quiet at night when she is supposed to sleep. It did it's job well for 2 months.

She would pick at the edges she could get and once she pulled enough the velcro that keeps the sides together (3 pieces on each corner side) would just easily pull apart. She pulled the entire thing in her kennel when we left last week for a few hours, and when we returned she was uncovered, and had literally ripped the entire front flap off the cover.

Yes, it is her fault, however, this could be made more sturdy. We know dogs chew, and are going to do whatever they find interesting. My suggestion would be to have the back completely stitched so there is no flap (our kennel has one door) and to have zippers on the front flap so there is less ability to easily undo it and pull it in.

We are going to look for another cover, but overall this one did its job well for 2 months.

This product was poorly designed. A thin material that had velcro to attach the sides together. When the front or side was open as it was designed to be, the panel was placed across the top of the crate and exposing sloppy seams with lose threads all over. Furthermore, the fit was not exact. It was about 2 inches too short and didn't go to the ground to cover the entire crate.

I returned the product without any issues.

I have to say I am surprised at the poor reviews on this crate cover. I have two already and just ordered a third! I love them, They are light weight and easy to store. They clean up well and I love the Velcro corners. They fit the crates well and do everything I could ask of them! Great product!

This is the only toy that has stood the test of time with my rat terrier puppy. He has made a very concerted effort to chew if up like he does his other toys. To no avail. It is a great toy for Harley which he does play with often.
