Beware; this is not SportDogs material, received Guardian Brand. The wire and flags are aftermarket and box did not contain all items listed in kit. I can not locate any description of the wire gage, so I'm not sure what I received. Very, Very disappointed!

I purchased the wire and flag accessory kit when I purchased the Petsafe Sport dog electronic containment system because I wanted to make sure I had enough wire during installation. I did have enough wire with the start up kit (fenced in approximately an acre) but will save the accessory kit in case I ever move or need to replace the existing wire. I am very satisfied with this containment system and wish I went through the trouble to put it in years ago. Both of my lab mix male dogs (1 year old and 10 year old) were trained in just 3 days after installation. I live in the country and the dogs were starting to bark and chase after the bikers, joggers and most recently the neighbors this system totally put a stop to all of their attitude and now they just bark a bark of greetings from behind their invisible fence.

We LOVE our SportDog underwire kit! We ordered this a year or so ago. It is doing GREAT! Our dogs were in for the "shock" of their life. We showed them the boundary and it only took one little buzz to get their attention. We have a lab mix (85pds) & a weimaraner (95 lbs) and both of them are quite obedient when it comes to the boundary now. When we first trained them we took them out and walked them to the lines. We had the flags up and everything. One of them eventually crossed and thats all it took. Mind you, for the next week we had to CARRY them outside. They were so scared of being shocked. It just took some time for them to realize that they wouldn't get shocked unless they heard the beep and felt the vibration. They became comfortable in our front yard after about a week or two. It took about a month for them to realize the back yard is safe. And THANK GOD after about four months they decided to go back in the field. (That is where they used to poop, and after they became scared started pooping in my front yard). We have three acres of land, but live on a busy four lane highway. It is so nice being able to let them out unsupervised to play and do their business! They have actually learned the complete boundary on their own. I don't care where my husband and I walk, they know exactly how far to walk (flags were taken down a long time ago) and stop. They've even become comfortable with the vibration. They know thats when to back up. It doesn't scare them, but they know to back up. Now the beeping noise is a different story. They know at the end of that beeping is usually a shock. They are PETRIFIED of ANY noise that sounds like it! We hear that TONE often while watching TV and our poor Weimaraner (95lbs Mind you) jumps on the top of the sofa against the wall and starts shaking. I guess its the same pitch as their collar, but it scares the devil out of him. He thinks he's about to be shocked. So, as you're reading this.. you're probably thinking.. Geez.. they shouldn't have put the setting so high. lol.. No, our BIG dogs are just Little babies. We've had our dog's collars on the 2nd setting. I think there are five. We've had it on level 2 the whole time, and have had no need to increase it. My husband gets mad at me because sometimes I will let them out without the collar on. Doesn't matter. They aren't going close to the boundary line. Thank you SportDOG for making me life so much less complicated!!

I ordered this for one of my Chihuahuas who weighs 3 pounds, 8 ounces. It fit him perfectly. The product is well made and has a very secure velcro closure. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and doesn't slip or move around. I just ordered a second one so I'll be able to always have a clean one. I use panty liners (cut in half) to line the tinkle belt and cut down on when it has to be washed. Because the XXS are SO tiny, the company even included an extra Tinkle Belt in the XS size to make sure I had one that would fit my dog, said to donate the one that didn't fit to the Humane Society. First, I bought this one because it was suppose to fit my male chihuahua who measures just shy of 10 inches around the waiste. Precision Pet Little Stinker Housebreaking Pet Pads

The photo being shown for this product is of the carton that holds 100 count. Besides the photo, there is no mention in the product details of the number of pads in the package. I therefore only assumed it was what was shown in the photo. It seemed to be a great deal and was also shippable under Amazon Prime. However, upon receipt of my order today, what was shipped was the package with only 30 count. I will be returning it back to Amazon tomorrow. Needless to say, this is a gross misrepresentation by the seller and tarnishes the Amazon Prime brand.

The previous reviewer does a disservice rating these pads on the number of pads in the package, rather than on the product. These are the best pads I've found so far. They absorb more liquid than the many other brands I've tried, minimizing tracking. I highly recommend them!

The colors are great and I love the collars but the handle that everyone is raving about on the leash frayed in just a couple weeks. Kinda dissapointing.

I got one of these for my first dog and liked it so much got one for my second dog as well. The Red Dingo brand is by far the finest quality I've seen in nylon dog collars ,harnesses, and leashes. This leash has padding in the handle which makes walking the dog so much more comfortable. It aslo is adjustable to size which is nice when you want your dog close, or you feel like letting them roam a few more feet away from you. I highly recommend this product!

Also not that the picture for the purple leash looks pink... it's not pink. It's a true purple like the other products mentioned above. I knew this when I ordered because I view better product photos on Red Dingos website.

I have this leash in two sizes (for my two dogs) and I love the soft handle and the fact that it adjusts. The short length is perfect for jogging in a crowded area and the longer length is great for a "go sniff" walk. My only complaint is that the handle is starting to fray and it seems like this is a fairly common complaint.

I bought this unit for my 4 yr old boxer and his boxer husky mixed pup; out of the box I charged the first one up for the first of three 5 hour charges it asks to do for the initial use.I put the collar on the boxer and adjusted it to snug fit. Then put the second receiver on the charger for 5 hours; he instantly started behaving different as he had an auto shock collar that I had borrowed from a friend; the story behind him is that he will go into a barking frenzy when anyone passes by or the high school begins to shoot off the track and field gun or announces stuff on the football field. He litterally barks at everything and wont stop even after the person or object has passed our yard 20 minutes ago... I put this collar on him and he was mostly obedient; no longer barking at the windi wanted the remote so i could train him to bark at the things i dont mind and of importance (he is to protect the yard by letting people know hes there, bark at the birds to keep them out of the yard, and bark when someone knocks on the door; since our rental is very long and we dont have a door bell. I put it on and immediately he was being trained to only do such things and i instantly rewarded him for doing so. When the rare occasion he got to barking for more than a few good barks for passers by i just beeped him and the confusion stopped him, when he wouldnt respond i turned up the dial and did it again; if he didnt respond i lowered the dial and tried vibrate (if no response; i then issued a low shock) by this time he is in a frenzy bark and increased to lvl 7 and shock (a good yelp but absolutely no barking) since ive only used a 7 lvl shock on him twice he has never gotten out of control in any sort of frenzy since. The puppy however is much like his father and will continuously bark and wont stop even by vocal command; snugged the collar on her and the beep is usually enough to stop her; but when the rare occasion i have to shock her she never yelps and is confused by the shock and stops her actions all together; when inside for inhome training she responds very well to the beep, but the shock she yet again will stop and instantly return to my side never yelping even on lvl 7 (assuming length of coat is the reason but dont want to give her a shave to make best contact) i know she feels it because her tail goes between her legsi dont want to shave her because her weight also worries me; if I have to shock her at lvl 7 i dont want to possibly hurt her or put fear in her about her master.

The collars are very effective; syncing them with the extremely basic instructions is a bit annoying at first (absolutely dont try to sinch with the remote on 0; if done pull the battery from the remote which will desync)

turn receiver on the select which dog 1,2, or 3 you want the receiver to be set to; press any correction button. if you screw this up; turn off receiver by holding down the power button for three seconds and it will beep loud. Then turn it back on the exact same way you turned it off and repeat step on the one you want. if you turn both on they will both sync to that one button. If you sync one to #1 and want to sync 2 to #2 leave #1 on and turn on #2 and sync it

#1 on sync to remote light 1

#2 on (dont turn #1 off) sync to remote light 2

it says you will have to do this everytime you charge (incorrect; its everytime you turn the receiver off)

I wish it came with another charger for the second receiver.

this product is very good and one of the best ive seen; stand alone time seems to be about 5-7 days with turning it off at night since your only supposed to have them on your dog for upto 12 hours since the can get sores from the prongs.

I did not receive the second set of prongs for each receiver... i dont know if im using short or long; all four sets received are all the same... unlike my last auto correct collar; pretty sure this was their bad.

I recommend this product to everyone since it can control 1,2, or 3 dogs and it wont correct at the same time like the cheaper models. The newest model has an auto feature but is more than the price of a double unit...

Syncing is a little annoying everytime but once you get the hang of it; it is sooooo simple if you dont have the remote set to 0

Purchased this item based on features and price, both of which seemed to meet my needs. HOWEVER, the manual (translated from Chinese I assume) is difficult to comprehend and requires multiple readings (for me at least). It's poorly organized as well and there's no warranty or contact information. The website listed doesn't exist and there's no warranty/registration card. So, if it ever malfunctions, I guess I'm on my own. Had I known that, I would have purchased another similar product.

This is not the collar for me (my dogs actually).

I have tried at least five different training collars for one or more of my five dogs since 2006. When I first saw the Aetertek I was intrigued it claimed to be well made, controlled up to three dogs independently with sound and vibration control and seven levels of shock. It also had a much cooler looking handset compared to those cheaper two dog Chinese units. So I got one four months ago.

In all fairness let me list the good points first.

1 It is well made and while I have only had it for four months it seems like it will last a long time.

2 It came with a nice cloth case.

3 The time between recharging of the collars was sufficient for all day use with recharging nightly.

4 It really does all those things advertised. Mine came with two collars but you can get a third if you need to control a third dog.

5 I have not tested the waterproofness but the collar units look tight.

6 The vinyl plastic collars are heavy duty and the hardware is good quality with heavy chrome plating. 1st class if you like vinyl.

Now let me tell you what I do not like about the Aetertek the cool looking handset is difficult to use. I stopped using it because of this.

If one of your dogs is getting into mischief and needs prompt correction you have push the tiny little button on the side of the handset to cycle through dog 1, dog 2, dog 3 until you are correcting the right dog. If you are in the sun the tiny LED's are hard to see.

Then you have to decide whether to use the ultrasonic whistle, the vibrator or the shock.

If you choose shocking you then rotate the wheel to select which of the seven levels of shock to apply.

By this time my dog has turned over several flower pots, eaten the neighbor's cat and is bounding gleefully towards traffic. Meanwhile my other dog starts acting up. If I am lucky that dog's unit has a higher numerical value so I do not have to cycle all the way through the menu again to correct that dog.

By now I am beginning to appreciate the dorky looking handset of the cheaper units. The cheaper unit is bigger, the buttons are bigger and there are only three well laid out, well-spaced out buttons for each dog. I can jump from dog 1 to dog 2 in a microsecond. You don't need seven levels of shock. Two is enough. The cheaper unit worked better for me.

There are other minor complaints about the Aetertek but they are not important. The handset makes this product useless to me.

In summary this is an idea that sounds better in theory than in execution, in my opinion. Until the designer comes up with a simpler more ergonomic handset this goes back in its nice cloth case and in the drawer. The replacement for my old less expensive, dorky looking 2-dog training collar just arrived.

The aetertek 216s-550s works well. The collar is cheap and will need to be replaced and the battery life is poor. If you do not want to have to remove the collar all of the time and charge the battery I would recommend something else. If this is not an issue, then this unit will work. The unit will get my hyper cattle dog attention.

Easy Walk Harness - Large, Red

I've used an Easy Walk Harness for my 4-year-old Labradoodle since he was a puppy, and still consider it the best! It allows the human partner to be in control, without choking or hurting the canine companion.

I love this harness. My dog is a very energetic 3-yr old, 70lb lab mix, and this is the only style harness that prevents him from pulling. I live in Europe and this harness is only available from the UK and the US (that I know of). I've shown it to our veterinarians and the local pet store, but they are oblivious to why attaching the leash to the front makes an instant change. This purchase was for a friend's dog a 9 month old golden, at least 80 lbs and his owner is eternally grateful. Having this harness is saving my friend's back, literally. Will never buy another kind of harness again.

I bought a different type for my smaller dogs and loved it, but they don't make a size to fit larger dogs. This one works similarly in that it is comfortable for the dog and works on the premiss that when a dog's weight is pulled off the front paws s/he is submissive. Works well.

I first used this on my dad's 90 lb ridgeback who I walked with my 85lb dog. Needless to say, if they saw a squirrel I had to run after it as well and it was of course a huge risk if we all had to run in the middle of the road. The dog can still pull with this, but he hasn't been able to have more control than me with this harness. I now use it on a 50+lb hound mix puppy I just rescued. I first used the gentle leader for her since the shelter was using one, but she would spend most of the walk trying to get it off and since she has droopy eyes (a hound) I didn't think it was good for her to be rubbing her paws near her eyes so much since she could get an infection. So I got one of these harnesses for her as well. I find it works just as well as the gentle leaders, but the dogs don't seem to mind having them on as much as those. Keep in mind that they tend to love to chew on the strap on the front if they can get their mouth around it (i.e. in the car etc). Both my dad's dog and her have chewed through them. So keep them supervised if you keep them on when they're not walking for some reason. Also, for my dad's dog the chafing of the straps caused his hair to be shorter in some spots, but I haven't noticed this on my new dog.

I set it up right away and put my puppy on it and she went to the potty just like that. It took me a week of taking her to it before she went to it on her own but she used it every time I took her right away. The Green color is just as pretty in person too! To clean it I just lift the crate poor in the sink, rins with water, spay all in one on it, then just dry it off with a napkin. Super easy and fast clean up. I keep her potty in the bathroom at home but it when I go to family and friends houses I bring the potty with me and she uses it just fine. I just put her on it and make her sitt on it for a couple of minutes. I added a pic of my puppy Avah using it under the product pic on amazon!!!

It does not work and they don't take it back. Do not order it because it is a waste of money. I am very dissapointed and so is my dog! We tried everything to make him go on it and he is totally avoiding it. It is made of plastic and if you have a dog that goes outside, this is very artificial feel to it. My dog goes on grass, on concrete, on snow, everywhere except on this hard plastic that smells like plastic. I tried to spary it with diiferent attracting sprays and it does not work. I am dissapointed that they don't take it back. They don't stand by their products. That is not acceptable when people have choices.

I tried the biscuit variety of this product, but my dog didn't like them, so therefore she mostly wouldn't eat them, therefore, the lawn still had brown spots. I put the liquid in her food, split between the morning and evening feeding, and I haven't seen a new brown spot in a long time (although I am still patching the old ones). A previous reviewer mentioned putting the liquid into their dog's water. I can understand that not working, as the liquid doesn't smell very good. I mix canned food with dry, so that may help my dog get past any objection she might have to the smell or taste of this product.

It works. My lawn's brown spots have disappeared. But my dog doesn't like the taste...I don't like the smell. I mix the liquid with a couple of his doggie biscuits and give it to him between meals. That seems to work and my grass is greener. Now to deal with the dog pooh....

i had a problem at 1st but i contacted seller & they were quick to help me! the collar is working to train Daisy (5m old pit bull mix) to STOP jumping on counters & table. she is stubborn but a quick learner. when i shock her she looks around quickly to see where it came from. it interrupts her bad behavior & i can tell her "no jump"

my hubby calls it the nazi collar :(

we dont have it on her when she goes outside or when in her crate or sleeping on the couch. out of 100 levels of shock, we have it on 13, so that tells u it's not inhumane. besides, if she isn't cured of the bad behaviors now, when she is full grown pit bull, it could be a real problem if she is still jumping on everything. then it would be inhumane to have to take her back to the shelter that we got her from...

Manual is very short and to the point. To me that was very good, All I needed to know. I only wish you were able to charge two items at once. You will have to charge one at a time when your product arrives. Not a big deal since you didn't have it in the the first place and it makes you read the very short manual and get familiar with the items.

The transmiter/remote feels cheap. But it works. I have friends that own pet training products that cost double this and feel the same... for the recievers, they feel a whole lot better / sturdy. You are able to program each one to its own channel 1, 2 or both on the same one. They each can have there own settings for static and vibration. The recievers go into stand by mode if your pet is not moving... there is a green light you are able to see along with a red motion type of light. If and when you are done training your pet you can turn off reciever by using paper clip and pushing small button via water tight hole that is pluged with rubber stopper that you have to remove and replace every time you want to do this.

I purchased this based on a few things, friends of mine have training units that eat up batteries, they have to pull there batteries when there done traing there pets and keep buying them, This was rechargable, says waterproof, water resistence will be good enough for me, but seeing how the reciever has rubber around vital screws looks promising. Has LED for static testing, two prongs, collars, all you need for one pet or two, yeah it was cheap, but it WORKS.

Bottom line buy this, buy the most expensive one you can afford, just save your pets.

the remote control does feel like a very cheap made product. but overall the remote does what it is supposed to do and that is work. had only one problem so far the smaller connectors for the shock sensor (only one set) did not work at all. even with the test light it did not do a thing. but the other three sets work just fine. this product is great for the $ I put it on my 3 year old german shepherd that likes to test his limits and after two days of training with the shock sensor i dont even need to shock just a lil vibration to correct him. even has worked good with my 10wk old lab. two collars for a third of the price for one. cant beat it and it workd great. just wish could charge more than one thing at a time.

would defintly recommend.

I have two dogs, a mini pin that only listens when he wants to and a long haired chihuahua who has hissy fits. Both came from shelters and both attended basic training class and excelled at class.

I wanted something to help me get their attention when they wouldn't listen or were having a hissy fit but didn't want to hurt them in any way. Tried training leashes but worried that these might hurt their necks. Based on the reviews on Amazon I purchased these. The dogs love them and wait in the morning for me to put their collars on. I can regulate the level of vibration and it can be set to a very low level which is good for small dogs. I seldom have to use the shock for the hissy fits because the vibration gets his attention and then I just tell him to sit. These gave me the help I needed.

I purchased the two pack because I have two dogs and this enables me to control both with one control. They are rechargeable and I do recharge often because the dogs wear the collars all day long. Think this is a great product.

I bought this collar for my 50lb pit mix, I had to add a link to lengthen it but the small size is way more effective than the larger ones and it stays in the right place just behind her ears. This is the only collar which keeps her from pulling my arm out of the socket, I never have to use corrections, it just uses her natural weight and instincts to correct herself. I actually now walk her off leash even on the street and she will stay at a heel by my side because I was finally able to teach her the boundaries on walks. I would highly recommend the small size even for large breeds because with more smaller links it is more effective and makes your dog look less intimidating to others.

There are people who give these collars a bad rap but when used correctly they can actually be much more humane and natural than a head halter which often rubs a dog's face raw and makes them feel trapped. This collar appears to sum like spikes pointed into a dog's neck but really they are at an angle and just apply pressure when your dog pulls. They should fit snug behind the ears where it will not be pressing on the throat at all. It should not dangle or slide around at all which could be dangerous if it were caught on something. And I would never leave it on my dog while she is off leash either.

One more thing, Herm Sprenger is the leading brand for prong collars. Don't bother buying slightly cheaper ones. They will fall apart and the metal ends are blunt and not rounded like this collar. Also, the quick release style has come undone on me before so it is best to get this type which is only a tiny bit of extra effort to get on and off, it is especially easy in the small size. It also has a gap in the center and the links on either size point up which a nice new style addition.

I bought this collar for my Rottweiler puppy, and it's great. She's stubborn and extremely strong, so it's a must. When I use the collar, I have total control. The fact that it's fairly easy to adjust by adding or subtracting links is a definite plus when the collar is used on a rapidly growing puppy.

My only complaint was with the delivery. I live in Costa Rica, and the product was shipped via DHL who doesn't deliver to post office boxes. There was much confusion as DHL wouldn't deliver to my home address either as it's a rural address. Furthermore, Costa Rica DOES NOT have addresses. The collar was finally delivered to a local restaurant where I was able to pick it up. The shipping charges were high and that service was poor. Amazon had no edit on the post office box address either, so I had no idea. Prior shipments from Amazon always came to my PO box, except, of course, when they were lost in the mail. DHL may be a good solution to that problem, but they need to establish a central drop if they don't offer home delivery, or establish an arrangement with the post office.

I have Standard Poodles which normally are NOT pullers. However, I have had two who have been. NEVER will I use a chain link CHOKE collar on any dog. This pinch, used properly, MADE CORRECTLY (like the Herm Sprenger), works well with gentle corrections. Under $20 and I used it a totally of 3 training weeks with the new trainee. All done with it and his understands not to pull.

Please use any training collar with respect. Use it on your arm first. Understand the pressure. Use it correctly, high on the neck, with gentle corrections. Remember, they are corrections in training!!!!!!!!! Gentle, gentle, gentle with treats and love and fun.

Also, use a good, quality product. Not cheap junk. There is a difference.

From the first moment I put this collar on my dog he walked very nicely, unlike his usual lunging and yanking. After our third walk I removed one link from the collar and I feel it fits better, but with or without the link, his walk behavior is very different than before the collar.

The pinch parts are nicely rounded and do not irritate the skin, or dig in, or make any marks on his skin. He doesn't mind having the collar put on him because he knows the collar means he'll go outside. It's a great training device, and a wonderful device to use for dogs who lunge and pull on lead.

I recommend only the Herm Springer collar because used carefully it will not hurt the dog.

My wife and I love pets and we treat them like family members. They sleep in our beds, eat with us, and travel with us all over the world. We spare no expense on the best food, vet care, toys, healthy treats, clothes, etc. So we were very reluctant to even consider a shock collar but our newest puppy has been very stubborn and hasn't responded to the normal training methods. After doing a lot of research we finally decided to try this collar.

Our dog is a 10-lb. 6-month old matli-poo so he is pretty small and thin but he is at least a bit bigger than a yorkie or chihuahua. When we first opened this collar it appeared to be a bit too stiff and rigid to bend around his small neck, however after we adjusted the buckle and trimmed it to size then it wasn't too bad. We can use the quick-release buckle to take it on or off as designed, however it is a little akward to bend the stiff collar band around the hinged metal buckle while you snap the plastic buckle in place, and the fine fur from around his neck often gets stuck in the plastic buckle slots so we have to be careful not to pinch his fur. Once it is on properly then it fits him ok but it is obviously harder for him to sleep or lay down with it on so we take it off when he is napping or in bed for the night.

We read the instructions at least 3 times from front to back, charged the remote for 24 hours, and then installed the battery in the collar. It fired right up with the blinking green light and completed the self-tests just fine. Then we stuck the collar against our own skin and tested the various shock levels to make sure they wouldn't hurt him. The 0, 1, and 2 settings were so mild that we could barely feel them so we were relieved and not worried at all about using it on him. Then the big moment of truth came: we put it on him for his first training session. Wearing it didn't seem to bother him at all and it didn't take long for him to misbehave. At the first sign of bad behavior we called out NO! and issued the warning beep. He ignored us just as before, but then we called out NO! again and hit the shock on level 0. He didn't react to the shock at all so we tried again on level 1 he only barely noticed but continued his bad behavior. Finally on level 2 he immediately stopped his bad behavior and did not return to it again. He didn't yelp, bark, or cry but he did stop his behavior and shake his head a little as if confused. After just a few shocks for bad behavior on level 2, we now rarely need to shock him for real. He has learned that the command NO! is to be taken seriously, and if he ignores our command then we give him a warning tone and it turns him into an angel. So the collar really does work, and it is humane and harmless, so we would highly recommend it as a true miracle... but there is one issue which is a big problem...

We intended to keep the collar on our dog for somewhere between 4-6 hours each day during his most active periods. We would only need to issue a warning tone or shock maybe 3 times throughout the day and the rest of the time the collar would be turned on but idle. The instruction book says that if you leave the collar turned on continously then the collar battery will last about 2 weeks. This was fine with us, but in our case the first collar battery which came with the unit died after just 2 hours of use. The light on the collar goes from blinking green to blinking red to warn of a low battery, and then just a few minutes later it goes to solid red and the collar shuts off indicating a dead battery. If you turn it off and back on a little while later you might get a few more minutes out of the battery but then it dies again. So we figured that our unit was shipped with a bad battery, maybe from sitting in a store warehouse too long. I called the manufacturer and they were super nice. They sent me a whole new unit along with a prepaid return shipping label for the old one. The new unit arrived and looked just like the old one. We anxiously charged it and tested it as before with good results, but then the collar battery died again after just a few hours of use.

Now I must say that I am a very technical person. I often build and repair my own electronic devices so I know a lot about these things. I am not someone that puts the batteries in backwards or has trouble charging products. After seeing the second collar battery die so quickly I went back and read all the instructions yet again to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I checked the battery and collar several times for any defects. I searched the web for any similar problems. The only thing I found was a tip on how to modify the collar battery holder so that you can replace the battery yourself instead of buying their expensive replacements. So I modified my battery holder as shown, which was very easy, and then I purchased a dozen high quality photo batteries which are specifically designed for professional cameras and dog collars with a high power drain. The new batteries arrived and I tested them each before using them every one was fully charged. The modification worked great and the collar fired right up with the new battery in it, but once again the new battery only lasted about 2 hours. I cycled through 7 more batteries, all of which were brand new Energizer brand, but all of them died after just 1-2 hours of use. And I am not talking about a lot of beeps or shocks here. We would only get maybe 2 warning beeps out of it in the 1-2 hour period and then it would be dead. Most of the time we never even used a shock at all.

So we have now tried two brand new units and roughly 10 different batteries, and the collar itself works wonderfully well when it works, but the batteries die in just a few hours of idle use. This is totally unacceptable but I had to wonder why more people are not complaining. Other people talk of days, weeks, or even months before their batteries die. So I called the manufacturer back again and they are sending me out a new factory battery for free to try in this second unit. If it lasts a long time then maybe we just got really unlucky and had 10 bad batteries in a row, but somehow I think the collar is too blame. Perhaps a small percentage of units have a short which drains the battery too fast, and if so then I will exchange my collar a third time and hope for the best. But if the new battery doesn't do the trick and the third exchange fails then I will go for a refund and buy a different brand. We are really sold on using this type of product if it will only work for more than 1-2 hours per battery. I will update this review when we find out what the answer is.

Update:

I just received a new replacement battery from the manufacturer. We installed it and turned the collar on then immediately put it on our dog for the evening. It worked great for about 4 hours but we only had to press the warning tone button 4 times and we never used the shock feature at all during this period. I did notice the low battery indicator coming on near the end of the 4-hour period but it was still working when we removed it. We turned off the collar and removed it from the dog when he went to sleep. The next morning we turned the collar back on and put it on the dog when he woke up, but it only lasted about 1 hour and then the battery was completely dead. So a brand new battery only lasted a total of 5 hours which included only 4 warning tones and no shocks. This is very poor battery life and is not even close to the 2-week average life which is mentioned in the instruction book. And a new battery normally costs about $10 so this would cost $2 per hour to use the collar not to mention you would have to replace the batteries all the time. No thank you. We really like the way the collar fits and works when the battery is good, but the battery life is just way too short and replacements are not cheap so it is going back for a refund. We will look for a different brand with better results.

This product has two problems. One,the collar is very rigid. I have a 11 lb. yorkshire terrier that has a small neck. When you adjust the collar that small it becomes oval, not round and leaves gaps around his neck. I have to buckle it too tight to even get contact on his neck. It ends up choking him. Two, the collar itself is not rechargeable and you need to special order batteries for it. Also have to make sure that you turn it off when you are done, otherwise you'll get very little use out of each battery. I have two Innotek collars for two large dogs and these are fully rechargeable, waterproof and you can use any collar you want (have to make holes in it). I wish Innotek would make something this small.

This is a very nice collar. The remote is rechargeable and with a simple mod generic batteries can be used in the receiver.

It looks like high quality construction and the buttons are ergonomically different so you can tell which is which without looking at them. It has only three buttons, good tone, bad tone, and stimulation. The stimulation is controlled by a dial.

I self tested the collar and could feel level one. Level two would definitely make me comply. Why do they need waterboarding when they could get the job done with electric collars?

I have this collar and the Innotek SD-70 lap dog trainer. While the lap dog trainer comes with a dvd, the Petsafe comes with a pretty good manual.

This just has a better look and feel to it that the boxish Innotek. The stimulation feels similar. The Petsafe level one is a bit more subtle than the Innotek. Level 4, the max on the Innotek, is stronger on the Petsafe. Frankly I don't even want to think about higher than level four on bare skin. I was able to tolerate all the way up to level 8 through clothing.

The unit looks like it could take some moisture. I like that it has a flashing light on the transmitter and the receiver so you have an idea

if it's working or not.

It's a good starter unit with minimal levels and range. Also this has a bit more range than the Innotek.

I've since moved on to Dogtra and Tri-Tronics and have used the Sportdog Field Trainer 400. I stopped using Sportdog as I felt the stimulation was too harsh. Tri-Tronics Flyway G2 has a small enough receiver that it can be used on a small dog and that's what I'm using on our smallest dog. I'm using a Dogtra 282 NCP on our slightly larger chihuahua mixes and consider those units to be superior in every respect to the Petsafe offering. Also the tones I felt were a waste and not sure a dog knows the difference between a good tone and a bad tone. The Dogra has a page function which is a vibration however I don't use it as it can freak the dog out more than a nick.

After the initial battery ran out in this product, I purchased a new one. About 5 minutes after I turned the unit on and it began flashing red, then went to a solid red light on the unit. Thinking it was simply a bad battery, I purchased another one. The same thing happened. Contacting support resulted in me being told that for $45 they would replace the unit.

It's ironic. Petsafe has a great little training collar here... almost. It fits our small dog well, and it works great ... for about 3 hours. Then the battery is dead. Problem is, the batteries cost around $10 each. Nice. So your dog training with this collar works out to be about $3 an hour, which is absolutely ridiculous. Because of the horrible battery life, I have to recommend against this product. As expensive as it is, they should have put a little more engineering into the battery and collar arrangement. The fact that the battery is not rechargeable, expensive, and short-life means this product is a definite, definite, DO NOT BUY.

I got this leash over a year ago for my Grandpa's dog, who is over at our place about 1/2 the week. This leash is wonderful, the gripper is nice and big and easy to use. It is adjustable without the retractable thing..(I hate those they seem to break at all the wrong times). The clip at the top doubles as a handle, and it is especially nice for my grandpa so he can hold it better. I often hook it to my purse if my hands are full, too. Used with two small dogs. The dogs were using "pee pads" ocassionaly. They did their business ok but when the pad was washed it too a long time to dry the dogs would not go no the wet surface. Also, if used in a confined spot there was a stog urine odour even though it was washed daily.

We are back to the "pee pads" and the two Potty Patchs are back in their boxes.

I was really hoping this would work with my 2.5-3 month old miniature schnauzer. The one pro that I found was that my puppy would consistently go on the potty patch and treated it like it was the grass. However the engineering of it is BEYOND terrible. I would like to think that most people know that puppies chew and bite and pull on things. If you are using this to train your puppy and can watch him/her at all times, it could probably work well. But if you are leaving her alone with the potty patch, it could potentially become a big terrible mess, like it did for me for the 2 weeks I tried it. My puppy pulled all three parts apart from each other because they were so easy to separate. The 2 top pieces seem to just sit and wiggle on the plastic bottom. I even tried creating little holes in the parts to tie them together. I also tried buying industrial strength velcro to attach the parts together and to the floor as well. My puppy easily chewed through the artificial grass each day when I returned home from work, she had chewed off another square inch of grass with the grass all over the room. The three pieces were scattered and the grass was flipped over. Inevitably it was poop and pee everywhere as well.

If anything I hope the makers of Potty Patch think of a way to use better materials and find a way to keep the 3 parts removably attached to each other. Another very important note: this is NON returnable/refundable.

I bought this to help my aging dalmation while we were at work. Although she has NEVER been one to chew things, the "grass" was lose (some even fell out during assembly). The potty patch spent its last night in our house about 2 weeks later when I came home to find my dog gagging and handfuls of "grass" strewn about. Fearing she was choking, I grabbed the leash and keys to get her to the emergency vet when I saw that the "grass" was actually wound around her teeth. Her gums were irritated for days. If you love your dog, explore every option (or none at all for that matter). The potty patch is both dangerous and cheap. I've learned my lesson.

We bought this, excited our schnoodle and shih tzu would have a place to potty other than on our kitchen floor while we're gone. So far the parts all slide apart too easily, and the only use the Shih Tzu has made of it is to use it for a nap pad.

We've tried putting a pile of their poop on it and rubbing the top of it in a pee puddle of theirs, but they ignore it.

I should have known better....not worth the money. I could have boughten a piece of grass carpet and put it on a boot tray!

My dog is afraid of it because it moves all over the tray and makes noises. Maybe it would be OK for a puppy that you are just house breaking, but not a dog that is trained or used to something else.

My breeder starts potty training on the spotty and recommended that I continue. The spotty pads really absorb liquid and locks in the stink. I threw away the artificial grass and my puppy goes directly on the grid onto the absorbing pad. My Maltese stays inside, never have to bring her out to use the bathroom and get all stinky and dirty.

We bought these to use in the Spotty Training Place which, as an aside, we love. This is the only pad on the market that fits the Training place from end to end and assures little to no mess in the base of the Training Place. However, they are not as absorbent as some of the higher quality pads and, at least for our 8 month old Havanese, does not last a week. Two to three days at most and afterwards, the pup won't use it, I suspect because of the smell. As soon as we replace it, he goes back to using the training place religiously. So, we will continue to use it because it is the only pad that fits the tray but wish it would last longer.
