I started off using newspapers and decided to move to training pads. My puppy was not automatically attracted to these pads which is why I deducted a star. It took the constant effort of moving her to the pads even after she'd had an accident to get her to use them. I think once she uses them the scent attracts her back. The pads are absorbent, and I use the large pad for the puppy to give ger the ability to reuse it since there are not very many in the bag, which is why I deducted another star. No issues with tearing or leakage. Overall, they are a big improvement on newspapers, but I will try another brand to get a better comparison.

I ordered this for one of my Chihuahuas who weighs 3 pounds, 8 ounces. It fit him perfectly. The product is well made and has a very secure velcro closure. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and doesn't slip or move around. I just ordered a second one so I'll be able to always have a clean one. I use panty liners (cut in half) to line the tinkle belt and cut down on when it has to be washed. This product is extra tiny, exactly as promised. My DH has a very small 3lb Chihuahua PSA and this is the first product we have found that actually fits him! However, be forwarned, there is not much extra fabric on this vest to put additional patches (unless they are quite small) We already had a 2.5 inch patch which will not fit, but were quite pleased to find that this vest comes with a small patch! My little jack/corgi mix loves to chase/catch frisbees and the best frisbees are the ones you have to tug for. She loves these! While tugging with her, the disc makes a popping sound that drives her crazy. Thrown these things fly as well or better than a plastic disc. They are easily caught too. They float and when you get them wet or saturated with water they actually fly a little better by adding some weight. The most fun we've both had was throwing them on a windy day. If you throw the disc into the wind and it helps to have a wet disc here, at just the right angle, it'll come back to you just like a boomarang, actually better than a boomarang. Increase the angle of your throw, and it will fly forward and then come back and sail right over your head landing several feet behind you. My dog is so intent on that disc that she'll run forward track that the disc is reversing and follow it back, catching it on the fly. These discs fade if left outside and eventually after many months of tugging and general wear will start coming apart. My dog's discs usually last for a couple of years before I have to replace them. These things are stitched with what looks like fishing line and the outer ring is a plastic tube covered by the canvas material that makes up the disc, so they are tough and will take alot of abuse.

I have two Cairn Terriers and this is without a doubt their favorite toy. It's soft enough for the 11 year old and tough enough for the 2 year old. They love to fetch it as well as play tug-o-war. We love that there is minimal chance of damage to television monitors or other household items due to the rubber ring that maintains its form.

As far as durability, we have to replace it about 3 times a year because of wear and tear exposing the rubber ring. I would not recommend it for aggressive chewers. Otherwise, I highly recommend this dog toy!

This toy is fantastic. The size is perfect for my small but athletic Boston terrier (14 lbs.). It is easy to throw even for those of us who have trouble throwing the plastic kind of disk. My dog never saw this. I took it with me on an international trip as a human toy, and played with it with friends. We loved frisbee in the water, where it floated, and it soared well when thrown. My husband and I were looking for a way to keep our cat off the couch and another chair in our living room because she'd taken to urinating on both. This is the only product that worked in keeping her off the furniture. Its genius is its simplicity: no chemicals, no electric shock, no gates, no behavior therapy. Just a pad with a loud sonic alarm. We've purchased two in 6 months -it has saved our furniture. And it's one of the most affordable options in pet deterrents out there.

The pads have actually altered our cat's behavior. After a few weeks we were able to remove them from the furniture and the cat still stays away. If we make any changes in the home (move the location of the litter box, rearrange the furniture, change litter brands, go on vacation), we reintroduce the Sofa Scram for a week.

We used the first Scram on the couch and were able to hide it zippered inside the long couch seat cushion. We were a bit concerned that the cat might learn to step around the Scram we placed on the chair because it was visible, but no -she was not that smart. Cats jump onto the furniture, they hear the alarm, they run.

I love it.

This product is almost like the heart of a smoke detector except instead of detecting smoke it goes off when there's pressure on the mat. You can see the 9V in the video and hear the beep is somewhat similar (but monotone). You can also see it takes a little more pressure to set off on a plush cushion but there's no way a pet could lay on it without it going off.

I've also used ours on a deep picture window sill and it keeps the dog from jumping his front feet on that when neighbors are out (german shepherd likes to keep tabs on everyone!)

One of our dogs isn't terribly scared of the sound but doesn't want to set the mat off. The other dog doesn't want to be anywhere near it. Neither dog wants to lay on the couch with this thing on though so it's effective for both.

UPDATE: We are dog-sitting my sister's 14 year old black lab while they move and have a baby. This old, old dog has lost much of his hearing and the noise doesn't seem to bother him at all. It is alerting us when he gets on the couch which makes it easier to train him to stay off it (while we're home) but is not acting as a deterrent the way it does with our own two dogs.

This works great to keep the pets off the couch. Once it stopped working, I took it apart to find out why. The small wires that connect the 2 foil pads together break from rolling up he mat for storage. So, if you plan on rolling it up a lot, plan on it breaking due to wire fatigue. If you plan on keeping it unrolled, should work forever.

Hartz Home Protection Pads for Dogs

I have two chihuahuas. There is no way a chihuahua can hold it all day, either in a kennel or out. Their little bladders are not big enough. Plus, they do not like cold weather or rain and getting them to potty outside is an effort in futility. I have tried every puppy pad at the local retail stores and figured out these were the best. They are quilted so they do not bunch up. My youngest dog cannot chew them up like she does the blue ones. Why they chew them up, I have no clue....it's a puppy thing! The most important thing for a wee-wee pad is that it not let any liquid seep through and ruin the hardwood floors. This brand allows urine to seep through almost immediately. They are also slightly smaller than other brands we have used. Still looking for a brand that does not allow ANY seepage. This doesn't seem like much to ask, but so far all the brands we've tried allow leakage because the plastic is porous.

I have been using the Hartz Training Academy Wee Wee Pads for almost 3 years for my Chihuahua Dacshund mix. I love them and she loves them but unfortunately no more. Initially you couldn't beat the price. Walgreens always had the 50 pre priced pack for $10. Now Hartz has added another element to the wee wee pad (ANTI BACTERIAL). I bought one pack and wasted a good ten dollars. At the moment I opened this pack I smelled a very strong disinfectant odor eminating from the bag. Sure enough the new anti bacterial is saturated with this smell that offends me and I surely wouldn't subject my dog to it. Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Deep Purple

I have two wire-haired mixed breeds one 12 lbs and one 25 lbs. After reading reviews I thought I'd found what I needed to stop the dogs from pulling. Unfortunately, it's not working as well as I thought. First problem was the fit. It has been extremely hard to find sizes that fit. If it fits in the girth, it's too big in the chest. If it fits the chest, it's too small in the girth. Most places only carry Small, Medium, Large, etc, even though the harness comes in tweener sizes petite/small, small/medium, etc. Pay very close attention to the chest measurement, as well as the girth. My dogs both have smaller chests and muscular girths. edogsncats have all the sizes, is sold on Amazon, and posts all the measurements you need to know to help get the correct size. Unfortunately, I didn't see that until after I purchased a harness for each somewhere else (which are being returned). I am not sure even a tweener size will fit my smaller dog. I ordered a small and the chest strap is large and droops, but the next size smaller is an inch too small in the girth. The harnesses also may work better on taller dogs than a shorter one. The D ring for clipping the leash is only about 6 inches off the ground for my dog. The leash gets caught under her front legs, and sometimes gets wrapped around her neck as we walk and she moves from side to side. Several times she has run to the end of the leash and the harness has flipped her onto her side. So I most likely will go back to the harnesses where the leash attaches hook on the back. It may not stop pulling, but it is easier for walking. I am waiting to get the small/medium size for my larger dog and I hope it works, although I don't know how it will be to have one dog with a front-lead harness and one with a harness that attaches on the back if it does fit.

This size fit my lanky, 20 pound mixed breed dog nicely when tightened to the smaller end of the possible settings. Her measurements: chest = 21 inches; neck = 13.5 inches.

I'll add pictures and update the review on performance once I have time to use it more extensively.

I have a 6 yr old Chow mix and a 4 mth old Husky puppy. My Chow got the hint right away. But my Husky not so much. Husky's are bred to pull so it can be a challenge to get them to stop. This did not do it right away. The first time I put it on her she still tried to pull, but since it kept pulling her sideways she also started screaming as we were walking down the street. LOL. However, after a bit of leash training with my trainer we did get her to walk better on it. It has improved and she seems more comfortable in this harness instead of her collar or reg. harness because it does not choke her when she does pull. If you have a real bad puller I would probably recommend a head collar instead of this. I think the results really depend on the dog.

We chose Wiki Wags when my fiancée was moving in with a 5-year-old Chihuahua mix who has a tendency to mark unknown things major concern for an entirely new place. We settled on trying these due to the sanitary/disposable design. Yes, they are similar to "extra long" baby diapers with a reinforced attachment tab that is more like Velcro than conventional sticky tabs.

The product has worked great. "Hercules" (the dog) peed in it all of once, and simply wearing the wrap has been enough to deter him from even attempting to mark. Although he spends most of the time out of it, he wears it whenever freely roaming the house. We use a different wrap every 3-4 days just to be sanitary.

We received one package from this reseller that had 6 wraps missing their tabs. One email to customer service at wiki wags had a new package shipped out to us the very next day! It's great to see a company that willing to stand behind their product.

I have a couple of male chihuahuas in a battle for who rules the house, leading one to start marking everywhere the other one plays, sleeps, etc. On top of that, he was a rescue that had not been house trained for the first two years of his life, so he had fairly regular accidents even before the marking began. I was looking for solutions and didn't like the idea of the non-disposable bands which require panty liners and continuous washing, so I decided to give these a try. So far, they are working great. Unfortunately, my little guy keeps going (I had hoped maybe they would deter the behavior, but no such luck so far). However, at least the problem is contained to the wikiwags no leaks or smells and they are so easy to put on and take off. The only negative (other than your dog looking embarrassingly silly) is the price. Given that my dog is in the first few days of use wetting 1-2 per day, these may quickly become cost prohibitive and I might have to settle of the washable ones. However, if your dog is more deterred from marking when wearing a band, such that these would last longer, I would highly recommend them! It is nice to be able to wash dishes, work out or run a 10 minute errand and know my floors and furniture are safe.

I have 2 small males and one female. The wraps worked great for keeping my guys from marking the house or store when out and about. Also they helped when my lady was in heat. Keeps the guys wrapped up, good job. The Velcro type tabs are a nice touch to easily take the wraps on and off.

I have a 6 lb Chihuahua that I recently adopted. He was 3 years old and intact so he was marking all over the place. I tried the Simple Solutions wrap from Petsmart as a quick fix but he knows how to twist and turn and get out of it easily. I then bought the Tinkle Belts off of Amazon but it slides back and then doesn't cover his peter.

The Wiki Wags fit him well and even though he can still figure out how to get out of it, it is less often. Some of the tabs haven't been the best and have fallen apart but they still work rather well. The tabs are the reason for it only being a 4 star. I usually get a day or two out of one if I make sure to take him out often. I like when he does pee in one it quickly absorbs and he is not stuck in the wetness. He did get fixed last week and I am still able to put these on him without it interfering with his sutures.

Now I only wish they would make them a little more stylish. Maybe some different colors or a jean fabric look.

!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!8/1/2012

My parents took a 2 month trip and left their Havanese with me and he is has been anything but easy to deal with. Not sure what his reason but he has decided my house is the place to pee. So since the Wiki Wags worked so well for my Chihuahua I bought them in a size small for my mom's dog. They do work and I'm happy that it completely contains his pee no matter how much he goes. I let them out every two hours and in most cases he still pees in at least one diaper a day. At first I bought one to make sure they fit, he went through them rather quickly so I bought 3 more packs. The new packs had very inconsistent manufacturing. I just started the third pack and in every pack I've had at least 80% of the diapers poorly made. The tabs are placed on the diapers in all directions and in different positions so it makes it hard to have a consistent fit around the dog. The name portion has been peeling off as well. I really wish they would take more care in the way they make these, they were perfect at first but the more I buy the worse the gets. Unfortunately, while my mom's dog is here I have no choice as my fiance refuses to let him lose in the house without a diaper and the cloth washable ones he wets through. At $13.99 a pack I think these are way over priced for the lack of quality as well. Luckily my Chi has stopped his marking and my mom's dog will be gone in a couple weeks and I will be done buying these diapers.

I can now only recommend them in an emergency situation but would continue to look some place else if you want quality.

I have used this product for several months on our yorkie. He weighs 14 to 16 lbs. He is 14 years old and has a slight incontinence problem when he sleeps. The small size just fits him. We do have to make sure it fits snugly around him or he does wiggle out of it if he has a restless night. I like that they are disposable. This device definitely will make a dog avoid what you want them to. In fact they are scared witless around it. I use it to keep my 100 lb. German Shepherd away from the goat pen gate because his prey instinct is a little too high, and there have been damages to the animals. But, especially on anxious fear biters like GS pups, I would never use this for anything that involved people, children, babies or anything the dog might be involved in for work. Never use it except as a last resort and for a serious problem. The dog will get very neurotic if you do. You will need to buy the box of extra cartridges because you will have to repeat this intervention every so often.

My wife and I did not buy this from Amazon, but we did acquire one recently to help curtail barking at the window when someone walks by.

We have a 4 y.o. shepherd mix and an 8 y.o. collie mix. The shepherd is scared of just the Pet convincer being in our hand, and if we click the safety lock she gets away from the window immediately. The collie takes a bit more to break his attention, but a short burst of about 1/2 of a second is all it takes to make him jump and run from the window.

We have a Norwegian Elkhound-known for their barking. We have tried the zap collar, citronella spray collar and training even bribary with his favorite treats. Nothing helped us with his barking. This Pet Convincer is truly worth the $... I seriously doubted it when I was ordering it but, we have spent so much on other ways that didn't work so what the heck.

Although I know the Pet Convincer is intended to be used to curb unwanted behaviors in one's own dog, I bought it to repel off-leash dogs who are allowed by their owners to come barreling over to my dog and harrass him while he's minding his own business on our (leashed and legal!) walks. Spray repellents can be tricky on windy days, ultrasonic devices bother MY dog as well as the problem dog, but this device suits my needs totally. Note: I did some positive reinforcement training with my dog to desensitize him to the noise. Now when a furry tornado comes our way, I turn to face them, hit the trigger (the sound is like a forceful snake hiss ) and I stamp my foot and that's usually enough to send them back the way they came and we can enjoy our walk in peace!

I bought this collar because it seemed great, and it really is a lovely collar but NO release clasp! You have to make it as large as possible, slip it over the head, and re-tighten it... every time. That's a deal-breaker for me, but I realize that it isn't for everyone. The overall quality is superb, otherwise; very strong and sturdy, and the designs are quite vibrant. If you don't need to take the collar off often, and the max inches would fit around your dog's head, it would probably be a good collar for your pet.
