Silent Dog Training Whistle

I feel this whistle is advertised poorly. From the deceiving review it appears that the whistle will only produce very high frequencies that the dog can hear but the neighbors will not. Part of this is true, however I believe that this statement misleads the customer into thinking the whistle operates only in this high frequency register such that humans can not hear it at all. This is not the case. The whistle produces a very breathy awful sounding tone when blown that makes it annoying to use. The product itself is pretty cheap quality as well.

My hearing is exceptionally good. Everytime I blew this whistle I wanted to go somewhere. Seriously, since my dog has unimpaired hearing I simply set the tone to its highest pitch. Then I started by blowing it in the house and rewarding my dog when she realized where the sound was coming from. Gradually working distance into the training we ended up outdoors, still increasing the distance while decreasing the food reward. Now she comes anytime I use the whistle with no trouble. Yes, some people (me) can hear the highest tone. So what? It just means you have good hearing! Congratulations! But be careful how forcefully you blow it. You may not hear the increase in volume but your dog (and the dogs in the neighborhood) will. And it can be painful, so use it judiciously.

This is a great whistle. It is easy to change the pitch. You can hear the whistle it is not 100% silent, but to your dog it sounds really, really LOUD. I just got mine and am teaching my dog to come from long distances without me having to yell. This is not a magic whistle you must train you dog to listen...NO MAGIC...

Right out of the packaging, my small dog became hyper-attentive when I blew the whistle. I gave her the verbal "come" command and then blew the whistle. When she came to me, I rewarded her. It took about 10 15 minutes to have her "come" with the whistle only.

My dog's recall is difficult when she sees a biker. However, today, when she saw a biker and ran after the bike, I blew the whistle and she returned. She doesn't even do that for the verbal "come" command. There's something about this whistle that is commanding. It works at a much greater distance than I can yell.

As for the noise it makes, I hear a little air being blown through the whistle, but no high pitched sound. It seems decently built, but I probably would not put it on a key chain or carry it in a pocket with a lot of keys.

What a wonderful tool.

this is a fairly good whistle. i say fairly because it isn't silent, but it is pretty quiet. after you've trained your dog to respond to it you shouldn't have a problem getting your dog to come to you after it dissappears somewhere.

I purchased these "puppy" pads for my handicapped, incontinent kitten for diaper changes and to line his bed with. The size was perfect for both jobs and the absorbency was better than I expected. These pads are better and much less expensive than the ones I bought at WalMart.

As for the person who left the one-star rating, I don't see in the description where the pad "calls" to the puppy and wasn't aware that technology, as good as it is today, would lend itself to verbal communication between plastic-lined material and a canine.

This is the 4th brand of wee wee pad I have purchased for my 7 month old puppy. The first one has added attractant to help train the puppy. It worked well, but very expensive. After my puppy was trained, I switched to another brand that does not come with the attractant, and therefore less expensive. I found later an ad from a medical supplier that offers doggie pads with a deep discount well, the pads were cheap but they are not absorbant at all! The poor puppy got wet paws. I learned my lesson Polymer technology is the key it turns water into gel which keeps the surface dry and locks in any odor. These pads work very well so far, and the price here is the best that I found among the brands that use polymer technology.

I feel like I am on a never ending quest for the right pads for my 2 Yorkies. Nothing ever seems to work that great. For years we were using the Arm and Hammer pads and when they switched from blue to white, they suddenly became just plain terrible. So I decided to try these... They worked great. They absorbed very well and the urine didn't spread. For the first time in a long time, the dogs didn't get any mess on their feet. The only negative is the size. I wish they were the 24 x 24 inch size.

Found these at a local discount store (much better priced there; half the cost!) and absolutely love them. Way better for the environment than disposables, not to mention safer for the pups (2 yorkies) as they can tear apart disposables and ingest them. (They also look much nicer than having a white paper pad w/ pee marks all over it) Have even gone to other stores, just to see if I can find more of them. They wash up well just remember NO fabric softener. We've been using them for about two months and still look great. I'd highly recommend them. Also, the size 24x24 is just right for us, as it's works well for two small dogs (we change them daily) and fits perfectly at the end of the dog crate/run. (BTW I do keep an old towel underneath it to protect the hardwood floors not b/c they leak, but because on occasion the dogs like to "go" right on the edge of the pad.)

This is an excellent product, you still need to use the disposable pee pads, but overall this was a good product. Holds the pee well, washes up good, the puppies use it and it has proven itself to be a good product if you have puppies.

Gentle Leader Easy Walk Harness - Petite/Small, Green Tweener

I've just received this, so I've only managed to have my little guy on walk with this once, but it seems to work very well. I do have to say that, I feel it may work better on smaller dogs (though they make them for larger).

I used one of these on my doberman (who used to walk superbly on leash, but had gotten a bit obstinate in her old age)and it did not seem to work very well. As tight as I would have it, it would still seem to just pull to the side, but she wouldn't come with it.

Now on my little 7lb Chi, it works as it says it should. I actually wasn't even going to purchase one of these again, until my dog trainer demonstrated on my Chi.

Also, fitting seemed to a problem. It took 3 tries to get the right size. Although the petite lists inches up to 16" girth and my dog is 14", the petite was too small. SO, I tried a small, lists inches from 15", but figured if the petite was too small, well...that was too big. So I finally found the "Tweener" size petite/small and that one works.

Try them one BEFORE you buy if you can!

The only downside is I could see her backing up too close to and edge and overshooting the side, which rabbits are prone to due to the way they urinate. I've tried all brands of indoor potty pads. I have 5 indoor dogs, so potty pads are a necessary for us. Even though all my dogs are small, the other brands can only hold one or 2 uses before they spill out onto the floor. These are huge, very absorbent and work great. Overnight, my dogs can use it if they need to and some of them always need to. It doesn't leak out onto the floor, even if used 5 times.

We chose Wiki Wags when my fiancée was moving in with a 5-year-old Chihuahua mix who has a tendency to mark unknown things major concern for an entirely new place. We settled on trying these due to the sanitary/disposable design. Yes, they are similar to "extra long" baby diapers with a reinforced attachment tab that is more like Velcro than conventional sticky tabs.

The product has worked great. "Hercules" (the dog) peed in it all of once, and simply wearing the wrap has been enough to deter him from even attempting to mark. Although he spends most of the time out of it, he wears it whenever freely roaming the house. We use a different wrap every 3-4 days just to be sanitary.

We received one package from this reseller that had 6 wraps missing their tabs. One email to customer service at wiki wags had a new package shipped out to us the very next day! It's great to see a company that willing to stand behind their product.

I have a couple of male chihuahuas in a battle for who rules the house, leading one to start marking everywhere the other one plays, sleeps, etc. On top of that, he was a rescue that had not been house trained for the first two years of his life, so he had fairly regular accidents even before the marking began. I was looking for solutions and didn't like the idea of the non-disposable bands which require panty liners and continuous washing, so I decided to give these a try. So far, they are working great. Unfortunately, my little guy keeps going (I had hoped maybe they would deter the behavior, but no such luck so far). However, at least the problem is contained to the wikiwags no leaks or smells and they are so easy to put on and take off. The only negative (other than your dog looking embarrassingly silly) is the price. Given that my dog is in the first few days of use wetting 1-2 per day, these may quickly become cost prohibitive and I might have to settle of the washable ones. However, if your dog is more deterred from marking when wearing a band, such that these would last longer, I would highly recommend them! It is nice to be able to wash dishes, work out or run a 10 minute errand and know my floors and furniture are safe.

I have 2 small males and one female. The wraps worked great for keeping my guys from marking the house or store when out and about. Also they helped when my lady was in heat. Keeps the guys wrapped up, good job. The Velcro type tabs are a nice touch to easily take the wraps on and off.

I have a 6 lb Chihuahua that I recently adopted. He was 3 years old and intact so he was marking all over the place. I tried the Simple Solutions wrap from Petsmart as a quick fix but he knows how to twist and turn and get out of it easily. I then bought the Tinkle Belts off of Amazon but it slides back and then doesn't cover his peter.

The Wiki Wags fit him well and even though he can still figure out how to get out of it, it is less often. Some of the tabs haven't been the best and have fallen apart but they still work rather well. The tabs are the reason for it only being a 4 star. I usually get a day or two out of one if I make sure to take him out often. I like when he does pee in one it quickly absorbs and he is not stuck in the wetness. He did get fixed last week and I am still able to put these on him without it interfering with his sutures.

Now I only wish they would make them a little more stylish. Maybe some different colors or a jean fabric look.

!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!8/1/2012

My parents took a 2 month trip and left their Havanese with me and he is has been anything but easy to deal with. Not sure what his reason but he has decided my house is the place to pee. So since the Wiki Wags worked so well for my Chihuahua I bought them in a size small for my mom's dog. They do work and I'm happy that it completely contains his pee no matter how much he goes. I let them out every two hours and in most cases he still pees in at least one diaper a day. At first I bought one to make sure they fit, he went through them rather quickly so I bought 3 more packs. The new packs had very inconsistent manufacturing. I just started the third pack and in every pack I've had at least 80% of the diapers poorly made. The tabs are placed on the diapers in all directions and in different positions so it makes it hard to have a consistent fit around the dog. The name portion has been peeling off as well. I really wish they would take more care in the way they make these, they were perfect at first but the more I buy the worse the gets. Unfortunately, while my mom's dog is here I have no choice as my fiance refuses to let him lose in the house without a diaper and the cloth washable ones he wets through. At $13.99 a pack I think these are way over priced for the lack of quality as well. Luckily my Chi has stopped his marking and my mom's dog will be gone in a couple weeks and I will be done buying these diapers.

I can now only recommend them in an emergency situation but would continue to look some place else if you want quality.

I have used this product for several months on our yorkie. He weighs 14 to 16 lbs. He is 14 years old and has a slight incontinence problem when he sleeps. The small size just fits him. We do have to make sure it fits snugly around him or he does wiggle out of it if he has a restless night. I like that they are disposable. Halti Dog Harness, No Pull Dog Harness, Small

I am a dog trainer, and had this harness recommended to me over the easy walk one by premier. Having tried both now, I have to say I like the features on this one more. The harness is padded on the sides when the easy walk one is not, and has two points of attachment for a leash verses easy walk's one. I also appreciate that once adjusted, this one actually stays adjusted. The easy walk one would always slide down in front because the dog I was working with would try to pull and the harness would come loose in front. This one has stayed in place very well so far, and also has a clip to attach to the collar if it ever did loosen and start to slide down, which holds it up in place quite nicely. I will definitely continue to use and recommend this no pull harness.

I have a very energenic Boxer, 1 year. We have tried the prong collar, harness', the head collar..nothing worked. When I brought this home my husband said "we already have that", he was wrong. I'm not sure how it works but the fact that you can attach the lead to the front really helped the pulling problem. My only complaint so far is that the box didn't have a size listed. It's a little big, pulled to the tighest settings. The main thing is, so far it works. My husband runs with our boxer and was happy with the collar results as well.

Recently we adopted an eight month old stray from Puerto Rico (Sato.) Straight off the plane he was twirling on the leash, standing up on his hind legs trying to greet every dog he saw, chasing bicycles, skateboarders, street cleaners anything that moved! His behavior improved during the first month but he was still pulling me down the street like a little devil dog huffing and choking on his soft collar whenever we went for a walk. I felt something more was needed but I was reluctant to use a choke collar on a 22 pound terrier.

In the past I had a terrier who had learned how to back out of his collar and harness so I was particularly attracted to the Halti because of the safety strap that attaches to the collar. I'd also read about another brand that can chafe the pup's skin so I felt the Halti's padding was another plus. I did feel they could've used heavier weight webbing. For example, it's not as thick as the webbing on his 14 inch nylon collar.

The first time I used this harness the difference was like day and night. After the first tug or two he realized pulling on the leash wasn't going to work anymore. Suddenly my little Devil Dog was walking like a well mannered gentleman! Adjusting the size, (I bought a Small) took several attempts and I still don't seem to have it exactly how it appears in the photos. It seems to have a tendency to ride up behind his legs.

Despite the fact that I only put the harness on the pup before we left for his walk, removed it immediately upon return, and never left him unattended while he was wearing the harness, or allowed him to wear it in the dog run, after about 9 days of use I discovered he'd managed to chew almost all the way through the front strap in two different places! I do like the product and it does exactly what I wanted it to do. Maybe I need to order a couple more.

I love this collar. It is the only one that I have found which my 2 dogs can not "back out of" if they get freaked out by something. Is is super easy to walk both of them with one hand, I was shocked. Unlike, the last review, I have found that it does loosen up a bit but it does not stop the effectiveness. I am going to actually bring it to a shoe maker to get a stitch or 2 put in so that I do not need to tighten the front. I have a Goldendoodle and a Siberian Husky. It is also the only harness which does not make my husky pretend that she is pulling a sled.

Ours is a rescue dog who is as finicky as we've ever seen... and his breath becomes a problem. Luckily he LOVES Yip Yaps! They are like candy to him and they do give temporary relief of his 'dog-breath'. And our order through Amazon was the least expensive (by far) way to get this product.

This product has changed over the years... we don't feel for the better. They used to be denser, crunchier and more to the container. Our dog still enjoys them but does not 'freak out' for them like he used to.

I was a bit skeptical when we first saw these in PetsMart. My dog is still young and has not yet experienced TRUE bad doggie breath, but I'm fighting a war before it begins. She absolutely loved it, and it made her breath smell just like fresh rosemary. Now anytime she is even in the deadest of sleep and she hears that tin jingle she comes running.

Also, I've noticed that it doesnt only fight the breath on the spot, but usually we give her 2 at a time, as treats for a trick or two, and we've noticed her breath smells great for atleast 2-3 days

Our dogs still love them and beg for them, but they don't do a thing for their breath. In the past the Yip Yaps were white and had a peppermint smell to them. And now they are brown and have a meaty smell. I really don't like the change that was made. But as I said our dogs still love them. I would no longer call them breath fresheners. If anything, they add to the bad breath.

Yip Yaps are difficult to find in our area; and when I do they are expensive. The price was a bit less than what I would pay if I could find and that included S&H. The order came very quickly and I had no problems with the seller. Actually got a discount card to use with my next order! I would definitely check out their store next time I need something for our pets.
