Silent Dog Training Whistle
Buy Silent Dog Training Whistle Now
This is a great whistle. It is easy to change the pitch. You can hear the whistle it is not 100% silent, but to your dog it sounds really, really LOUD. I just got mine and am teaching my dog to come from long distances without me having to yell. This is not a magic whistle you must train you dog to listen...NO MAGIC...Read Best Reviews of Silent Dog Training Whistle Here
Right out of the packaging, my small dog became hyper-attentive when I blew the whistle. I gave her the verbal "come" command and then blew the whistle. When she came to me, I rewarded her. It took about 10 15 minutes to have her "come" with the whistle only.My dog's recall is difficult when she sees a biker. However, today, when she saw a biker and ran after the bike, I blew the whistle and she returned. She doesn't even do that for the verbal "come" command. There's something about this whistle that is commanding. It works at a much greater distance than I can yell.
As for the noise it makes, I hear a little air being blown through the whistle, but no high pitched sound. It seems decently built, but I probably would not put it on a key chain or carry it in a pocket with a lot of keys.
What a wonderful tool.this is a fairly good whistle. i say fairly because it isn't silent, but it is pretty quiet. after you've trained your dog to respond to it you shouldn't have a problem getting your dog to come to you after it dissappears somewhere.

Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Cooling Vest for Dogs, Ice Blue
Buy Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Cooling Vest for Dogs, Ice Blue Now
My 15 year old golden retriever is now wearing this vest for the 3rd summer in a row. When she was 12 she started overheating to the point of almost fainting. She would throw up and be ill the rest of the evening during our hot DC summers. I bought the swamp cooler vest from REI and it's literally saved her. Without it we'd be stuck inside all summer and not getting any exercise. I soak it really well before going to the dog park and she stays cool the entire 2 hours we're there. Once we're home I take it outside and throw it over the deck railing to dry. About once a week I throw it in the wash with other clothes. The coat looks and works like brand new after several summers of use.Read Best Reviews of Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Cooling Vest for Dogs, Ice Blue Here
I live in Southern Arizona, and this coat works well for hikes and walks. It stays cooler longer than other coats I have tried. The length is a bit short, so maybe order one size up for bigger dogs.Want Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Cooling Vest for Dogs, Ice Blue Discount?
I purchased this for my English/French Bulldog/Staffie mix. She had difficulty walking in temperatures above 75 degrees. She would have to stop and "frog out" in the shade for 5-10 minutes during our walks and she had a very difficult time breathing which made me nervous. A 45 minute walk became a 1.5 hour long walk because of her need to stop and regulate her body temperature. I decided to give this cooling vest a chance, though I was quite skeptical since I always thought that dogs could only regulate their body temp via panting. I bought it in April and have used it several times since then, but refrained from writing a review until I could put it through the test. The final test came today when I took her to the park and let her run on her 50 foot lead. She ran...and ran...and RAN. I had to give her a little time out b/c I thought she might die in the 103 degree index. Granted, we were only out for about a half hour and we didn't run the entire time (I don't have a cooling vest for my own body), but her body under the vest was cool to the touch and, if I had let her, she would have kept running. I know she would not have been able to do so if she didn't have the vest on. I did re-wet the vest once during the run even though it was still wet. I didn't want to risk letting her body temperature rise since it was really hot and humid.Long story short, this was worth the money. The ONLY complaint I have is that it is light in color and it does get dirty. But, since my dog's nickname is "Dirt Dog" due to her propensity for finding and rolling in dirt and/or feces, I have thrown in the towel on caring about her appearance. I can tell you that her face was full of joy as she ran full tilt through the vast field in her sky-blue cooling vest with her human panting and sweating 50 paces behind her. Totally worth the money...

Halti Head Collar Black Size 1
I bought this Halti on a recommendation of a dog trainer friend. Let me tell you--it WORKS. I went from ripping my arm out every walk to being able to enjoy walks with him. He pulls once or twice at the beginning of the walk and that's it. I am even able to walk him and push the stroller. That's something I could have never done in my pre-Halti days. A must for any dog with walking issues.Oh my gosh, I wish I had purchased one of these leads years ago. I have two terrier mix dogs, one puller and the other stops to sniff everything. I bought it first for my puller and it worked so quickly that I bought a second one for my sniffer. The label says it all, "Enjoy walking your dog again." I have never enjoyed walking them so much. I did classes with my sniffer but still she stops and if I don't pay attention she stops and my arm gets jerked.
My only complaint would be that they need to make a smaller size. I got the smallest one they sell at PetSmart but it's still a little big around the neck. But it works for what I need and I'm totally happy.

It is a bit large for my Jack Russell female. But with one extra knot it fits her fine. Next time I will order the 0 size. I'll keep this one for my male who's head is larger. I'll work with her on this one for a while. You did warn me though and the quality allowed me to Macgyver it.Great product. Works amazing. And it was very inexpensive. I am so glad I found it on here. I almost paid $20 for one and then found it on here. Very satisfied.I don't think this is even a genuine halti.came without packaging and fit my dog very awkward. You are better off going to the pet store and spending more on a real halti.Sunday, May 4, 2014

Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Deep Purple
I'll add pictures and update the review on performance once I have time to use it more extensively.

I have a 6 yr old Chow mix and a 4 mth old Husky puppy. My Chow got the hint right away. But my Husky not so much. Husky's are bred to pull so it can be a challenge to get them to stop. This did not do it right away. The first time I put it on her she still tried to pull, but since it kept pulling her sideways she also started screaming as we were walking down the street. LOL. However, after a bit of leash training with my trainer we did get her to walk better on it. It has improved and she seems more comfortable in this harness instead of her collar or reg. harness because it does not choke her when she does pull. If you have a real bad puller I would probably recommend a head collar instead of this. I think the results really depend on the dog.Read Best Reviews of Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Deep Purple Here
I have used easy walk harnesses on my other dogs and love them. However, the small/medium size was just slightly too small for my dog, and the medium is slightly too big for her. The seller's return policy stinks though, so it wasn't worth the hassle of paying for the return, and the 20% restocking fee.Want Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Deep Purple Discount?
Bought this for our in between dog and doesn't fit as well as I'd hoped but the small was to small, the medium way too big. Works pretty good though and like it much better than traditional harnesses.Thursday, January 23, 2014

This product is so awsome! Ya know how sometimes your 130 lb. Dog wants to walk you? Well, when he tries, your hand won't have rope burn from this leash. It's easy to grip and no pain at all. Very ingenuious too, Save the earth and our hands all at the same time. Awesome creativity to the inventor and the guy smart enough to invest in him.Read Best Reviews of Cycle Dog Reflective Dog Collar - Recycled Bicycle Tubes Here
Sturdy, dries fast. Bright color is fun and reflective stripe is a great safety feature. I like it is made from recycled materialNOTE: I've had this product for a year at least and wanted to mention that it is very stretchy Our dog pulled his head out of the collar a couple of times. Just keep this in mind if your dog pulls a lot, you may need to connect your leash to a different collar or harness during walks so they cannot escape. However our dog also got out of our yard late at night (gate was left open on accident) and the collar reflecting was the only way I could see our black dog in the dark to find him!

Our dog loves the water. His previous collars we would have to wash weekly due to the stench the collar would retain. We have had this collar now for months and have not had to wash it. Smells like the day we got it. Great product! The bottle opener is a brilliant idea too! Very pleased with this product!Tuesday, October 29, 2013
Excelvan Remote Control Dog Training Shock Collar for 2 Dogs with 100LV of Shock and Vibration, Rech
In all fairness the item worked exactly once before it quit,
The remote quit adjusting the level of stimulation the 2nd. time I tried to use it, it stuck on (0) so it will not correct the dog in any way. This is a good price for a good product although it is not rechargeable nor waterproof it has three choices of correction. A noise, vibration, and shock. The Vibration the Shock have different levels you can choose from. There is also a light to test if the receivers are working. The only problem, other than it doesn't recharge, is that there is no on/off switch so whenever you move the receivers they turn on and if you are not pressing the buttons on the remote it turns off and it takes a second to turn back on. It is a little annoying. But for the price its still good.I purchased this item initially, got it on time, it didn't work at all. Nothing would charge and it just continually beeped at me. I contacted the seller and I returned it at my own expense. I received a new order and much to my dismay, the same thing. I unfortunately did not read the other customer reviews before my purchase. I was told again to ship it back, but forgoing paying any more out of my pocket for a useless item. It sits in a box, I just haven't thrown it away yet. I after all I spent about $50 on it, I should at least be able to stare at it and have it annoy me. : ) Do not purchase this product, you will not be happy. I have ordered hundreds of things through amazon, and the sellers that list on here. I have never found such a rip off.Remote didn't charge. At first collar works great but when the remote needs charging it wouldn't charge at all. Maybe an anomaly in the making

Remote Control Dog Training Shock Collar for 2 Dogs with 3 Levels of Shock and Vibration
This unit arrived very quickly, and works perfectly at a good distance according to the included and my own test lights. The quality of materials isn't quite the same as the 'name brand' unit I purchased last year for 3x the price, of course, but this one works. The high priced one didn't. And I got two decent quality collars.
The unit I purchased last year arrived defective, was replaced, and the replacement unit lasted about 2-3 weeks. Yes, it was constructed of better materials, but that didn't keep it from sitting on the shelf. I was finally told the (rechargeable) battery had gone bad. I didn't buy one.
I've read the other reviews here that battery life is short on these units, but for the price I would have paid to replace the battery in the more expensive unit I purchased an additional 20 batteries for this unit. More than enough for the training I'll be doing.
For basic training under normal conditions, this unit seems to be a very good deal for the price. If you're not a trainer and you'll only be using this to train your household pet(s), there's really no need to go with the much more expensive units. Packaging is great and the unit works, and for this price I could buy one a year and come out farther ahead than I did with the other systems. You don't always get what you pay for.
I'd have to recommend this unit for the casual trainer...
--------------
Update:
I've been using these collars for about a month now, and have to say they're as good as I thought when I initially received them. Though the quality of construction isn't quite on par with the much more expensive units, I haven't had any trouble with them on two active outdoor dogs.
They continue to work well, and the 3 level shock range is very adequate. At first I was removing the collar batteries when not in use, till I realized there is an automatic shut-off feature if the collar remains motionless for more than two minutes. I don't understand other complaints about battery life. Though they're not rechargeable the collar batteries do last a good length of time, and they're inexpensive and easy to order.
Basically (and what matters most to me), is that I had nothing but problems with more expensive units but have not had one problem with this item. After a month of regular use I'd still have to recommend this product for the casual trainer...You cant find the batteries to it in the stores, and they are just way too expensive to order online. Its worth buying a more expensive unit with normal batteries, because the batteries that come with it go dead really really quick. Within a week we had gone through all the batteries that came with it.

This came in a really nice package almost like a gift box. It had extra accessories which I didn't expect and I am sure will be useful (two extra waterproof battery hole covers, two extra electrodes, 6 batteries). The collars are easy to adjust in size and seem to be comfortable. The remote is nice although it has a cheap feel, I have had no problems. The plastic shocker doo-dad is smaller than I expected and has rounded edges so is less bulky than others available and appears more streamlined. The settings are markedly different and while I am still getting the hang of training my younger dog with it, the older dog has pretty much ceased from his habitual barking habit. The only reason I did not give 5 stars for this product is the batteries only last a few days to a week and it's not like we use it constantly or anything. Good thing these batteries can be purchased cheaply at the dollar store!Mine went through the first battery in less than a week and then within the second week stopped working. The lights still worked, but they no longer vibrated or shocked. When I tried to exchange them thinking mine was just a lemon (I'd read a couple reviews on here saying that their first set didn't work well, but the company sent them a new one and it was fine) only to find out that I can only receive a refund. Oh well, a refund's better than a poke in the eye. (By the way, I'm guessing it's a manufacturing defect/quality issue because I was only using one of them, the other was still in the box, yet both of them were broken.)I have a male Siberian Husky pup (8 months) and an older female Cocker (both fixed). I thought this set of collars might help me break them of some annoying behaviors. When I tested them out of the box, both collars gave a fairly mild tingling shock when using the lowest setting but the devices have 3 levels of shock. I tried them on both dogs and, while the cocker seemed to respond slightly to the collar at first, the Husky never did. I started with the lowest shock, then got stronger when he didn't respond until I was always hitting the highest level. He never even noticed the collar... I tried making sure the prongs were in contact with skin, fresh batteries, etc. He never once responded to the collar.
After a couple weeks, I finally took the collars and tried the shock myself. Even with fresh batteries, both collars had totally stopped working. The LEDs would go solid and you could hear something click inside the collar when triggered, but there was no shock even at the highest setting. I had to return the devices.
