My cat was diagnosed with vestibular syndrome. Basically she couldn't keep her balance due to a disbalance in the inner ear. It can be caused from anything from an ear infection to a tumor to what most cases are: idiopathic. (In otherwords, no cause found.) Mostly happens to older dogs but sometimes cats. Luckily, she aced the other tests and ruled out anything major. Most idiopathic cases resolve in days to months.

The first week she couldn't co-ordinate herself to stand much less walk, so I used the Advance pads for her to lie upon while I was at work and couldn't help her to her litterbox. Since she couldn't do much but roll around to right herself I wasn't sure what to expect when I got home. I was very pleased that the pads are nice and big and quilted but was worried she'd still be dirty and ready for a bath.

These pads worked great.

They wicked the moisture away so well that she stayed dry and odor free even when laying directly on the pad. In fact, I could only tell there was pee in the pad when I picked it up and it was heavy (and no, it never ran from the pad even when I carried it by the corner). As for the poops, she'd sort of roll them up in it afterwards =)

She's doing really well and slowly getting better everyday. We still use the pads just in case.

During her rehab I ran out of Advance pads and bought Hartz on sale. Hartz might be ok for some uses but much smaller and not as thick. They didn't work for us. I ended up going back for the Advance.

I have used these for years and the really pick up the moisture. I prefer the ones that come wih blue pattern under the white because you can tell each time the pad is used.

Highly recommend. However, be awary what sid you are placing up as the back side is so good at not letting moisture through if it is up and not the paper side, the puddle will just sit there until you soak it up with paper towles.

An excellent product! My dog has to take medication for a heart condition and it causes him to produce excess urine. We have tried many different brands and types of pads and these pads are the only one's we have used that actually absorb and retain the urine without making a mess everywhere. I wish the quilted part of the pad extended to the edge of the liner on all four sides instead of two, but other than that, I haven't found a better pad.

I just had a litter of pups & these pads worked pretty well until the amount of pee increased & then it would soak through the pad & my floor would get wet. Guess I will have to try another brand.

Stay Off Mat

I ordered 2 stay-off-mats and now I'm ordering 2 more. I have a cat with behavioral issues that was getting on my furniture and spraying it. Fortunately, I caught it on time and cleaned it immediately. So to avoid this mishap, I started to use training pads everywhere he did his thing. It was becoming consistent and annoying, so I decided to try this mat. Lets say my 2 sofas haven't been attacked since. I've tried feliway, composure, a calming collar, and putting litter boxes where I know he may go. Nothing worked.

Well, to make my story short I really like them and they are working. My only issue is they are a little small, but for the money I can't complain.

The reason, I gave it 4 stars is because based on the picture the mat looks much deeper but it's not it's 47"Long x 8.5"deep.

My dog used to jump up on my table or desk when we weren't home and chew up my glasses or whatever else might get left up there. We came home one night to find it on the floor, with a few scratch marks on the desk but I don't think she has been back up there again! She hates that noise!

I bought 2 of these to try to train my cats to stay off the couch and the counters. They take one 9v battery to operate and have an on/off switch. I should have looked at the dimensions and actually got a ruler out to see what 48 x 8.5 inches looks like but i went off the picture on the box which is greatly embellished. This thing is Small. I overlap two of them for the seat of the couch but the size is actually pretty good for the counters.

on two of my cats it is still very effective but the rest of them have gotten used to it i suppose. Now it just annoys me. when they jump up on the mat an annoying high pitch sound goes off and doesnt stop until they get off but im finding that all but 2 of my cats just sit down on it and look around like, "whats that noise?" it does make me get up and remove them from the surface they arent supposed to be on but it no longer scares them.

My boston terrier hates the sound so much that he will jump and get scared but then its like he gets mad and wants to eat the thing...barking and nipping and carrying on.

Im glad i bought them because it does work on some of my animals but make sure you know exactly what the size will look like and do not go by the picture on the box!

Two Door Gold Wire Dog Crate

Got this crate recently as we needed a second. Second door may be handy depending on crate location. Very sturdy and made in the USA. Not sure if other reviewer had a fluke piece sent since the pan in ours has rolled edges and no sharp spots.

This is a dangerous product DO NOT BUY IT. Unlike other crates that we have purchased, including some from General Cage in the past, the edges of the metal pan are not rolled or finished and have sharp edges. The corners of the metal pan are not even folded over but are instead just the cut joints of the sheet metal. A dog put in this crate is going to cut their feet on these edges! Even the people putting the crate together or transporting it could cut their hands on these edges. I am incredibly disappointed in the shoddy work.

Moreover, the picture for the crate on the Amazon and the General Cage sites does not show the actual crate pan with the dangerous edges but instead shows nice, smooth rolled edges. This seems like deception to me. We had purchased products from General Cage before and I wonder what happened to this once-reputable company.

My two poodles are pad trained. I have been upset because the pads I have used for four years are no longer available. I decided to try these pads. I have to tell you when I took the first one out of the package I thought it was disgusting looking. I put it down and my dog used it OMG it looked so nasty! I've been using the simple solutions original training pads and when I saw these, I absolutely LOVED the idea of saving space in the landfill and ordered these immediately since my puppy was already using the original pads with NO problems. Well...these turned out to be a total disaster because these have small black specks in between the liners that it attracted my puppy to dig these out and therefore was shredding these pads to bits. I couldn't get him to stop and after almost a week, I went back to the simple solution original training pads. Our 10 year old shih-tzu's back legs became paralyzed within 2 days of receiving his annual shots. He began to walk like a drunken sailor & within a few hours couldn't move his back legs, but could feel deep pain. Our vet said he might need surgery. I didn't like that idea so she treated him aggressively with steroids, muscle relaxants and pepcid for 36 hours. He didn't improve so we decided on back surgery & were told his chances of walking again were 10% with the aggressive treatment & 85% with surgery. We usually keep the sling on him when he potties...of course, he pees on it, and the sling needs to be laundered before we can use it again. I decided to cut up a puppy pad & duct tape it around the sling! Problem solved. The pad easily slips off the sling when I need to change it. His sling has never gotten wet again. This is the only brand of puppy pads I've ever used so I can't compare them. However, these pads are doing a great job keeping the sling dry; I don't notice any pee odor on the pads. The use of these fencing systems can be an emotionally charged topic. If you're like me, you've already tried several options to contain your dog and resorted to this for his/her safety. I wanted to write a review and share my experience for those of you who are trying to decide (like I was for months). In short, I do recommend this system.

I have two miniature Dachshunds who weigh 11lbs. and 14lbs. They are young but the elder of the two began to run and the other followed. They were certain to be hit by a car.

I chose the ultrasmart system because it is the smallest collar on the market that is rechargeable. So far, it's been three months and they haven't needed a charge.

Installation; It was easy. The wire only needs to be burried between 1 and 3 inches. I needed to bury about 750 feet of wire. I had an electric edger but discovered the secret after about 75 feet. For $30 I rented a gas powered edger. I ran the edger in one direction to slice the ground and pull the edger back through the same cut cleaning it out. Using a wooden paint stick, I burried the remaning 675 feet in two hours. Also, I used a power drill to twist the wire for those areas where you want the signal to be cancelled so the dogs can run through. Don't get me wrong, this installation is an all day project but the gas edger made the hard part easy.

Training; This product has you install the flags for the dogs to visualize the boundary and you start off with plastic contacts in the collar so they will not get a correction, just an audible tone. The dogs both picked up on the tone and I was able to teach the retreat pattern pretty well. We did this for the recommended amount of time when we changed plastic contacts with the real ones. I put the collar on the sensitive inside of my arm and walked through the boundary so I could feel the correction myself before putting it on the dogs. Startling Yes, Painful No. I would describe it as an electric pulse that you may get during a physical therapy session.

Now for the hard and controversial part. Your dog will get a correction. It will frighten them and no matter how well they know the retreat pattern, it goes out the window. KEEP THE DOG ON THE LEAD so you can control the situation. Both my dogs yiped and jumped, I had to pull them back into the safe zone. This is where I began to question my decision to use this product (but not to worry, in the end this was the best decision since deciding to have the dogs). My dogs where not only aware of the boundary but afraid to even step 3 feet away from the house. What really hurt was I noticed a considerable change in their demeanor. Instead of being playful outside they were cautious. I spent the next week outside playing with them in the safe zone to restore their confidence. It worked.

My system has been installed for three months now. In total, each dog received three corrections each and we went through a short period of timidness. Now, my dogs run free throughout the yard and play. It's awesome. It's exactly what I needed. I do not need the collars on them anymore, they know the boundary. I will use the collars when they will be outside for a long period but I've replaced the metal contacts with the plastic so if they inadvertantly wander they get the audible tone only and they will stay in the yard.

This product has made a huge difference with our family. It has removed a lot of worry, frustration, and stress with our dogs.

Sorry for the long review. I want to get two points across 1) Installation is easy if you spend the $30 and rent a gas edger. 2) The training will tug at your heart strings when they first start getting corrections. Not only when they get corrected, but their demeanor afterwards. But persevere they do get comfortable with the boundaries are soon back to themselves playing, but not running away :)

Wow, this unit really is smart. Or is it my dog that's smart? By following the training process advised by the innotek DVD and written instructions, everything went according to claims. Several of my neighbors installed this and it seemed to work very well for them, so I was convinced this would work for me. Sure enough, 2 weeks later, the dog will not cross the boundary for other dogs or people. Awesome! by the way, she's a 7 month old 50 lb Labradoodle.

We purchased Innotek ULTRASMART IN GROUND PET FENCING, back in May, we have two mixed breed sisters. We were so tired of tying them up! Whenever the door opened they would dart out the door. Overall I am very pleased with this product. It took about six hours to install on a 1/2 acre lot. I used a straight edge shovel. I did not splice the connecting wires to the loop as indicated in the directions, as I had to use additional wire, and needed to use one of the waterproof splices for that purpose. I simply made sure I had enough wire to reach the unit inside the house, and then I cut a slit into a wooden wedge and secured it in the ground approximately three inches at the point of the loop before twisting the wire with the drill as directed. This seemed to make more sense anyway, rather than cutting and splicing unnecessarily.

The training process went fairly quickly, as my Vizsla soon understood the boundaries. I did have an issue with the collar stretching a bit, which resulted in no shock being delivered when he ran after a robin in the next yard. Fortunately I saw this happen, and after tracking him down, I tightened the collar, widened the field, and set the level to medium. He does not venture near the boundary now. The collar has loosened again, so I would recommend checking the fit each time you put it on. The collar issue is why it doesn't get five stars.

We put this in about six years ago after getting a crazy $2,300 quote from a local company! I put this in myself with a little help from my wife and it took a full day for my 1/2 acre backyard. With the adjustability, this lead is always a great length for our walks / runs. It seems to have been well-made. I found out the clips are even switchable if you find a design you like better from Red Dingo. The padding in the handle is a VERY nice, VERY comfortable feature. I bought this one over other leads, however, because of the reflective surface (note that the reflective surface is on only ONE side). It seems like the reflective surface has gradually "dulled" out, and it doesn't seem as effective as it was when I first purchased it (more than six months ago, used daily). If the reflective surface wasn't part of the equation, this lead would get five stars, hands down.

At first glance I loved this collar. It is very attractive and I like the 1-1/2-inch width. The first few times we went for a walk it was great. But I have dog who loves water. When the collar gets wet the plastic slide can and does move making the collar too big. The reason we have our dog in a martingale type collar is because he likes to back out of collars and it is a real hazard. My dog slipped right out of this collar and started to run. Thank goodness we were able to catch him before he reached the street. RC Pet needs to change the plastic slider to stainless steel. I do love the collar and didn't want to waste money so I stitched the collar so the plastic slider can't move.

Our Bichon really likes these little treats. We use them as a potty treat. We like that there are no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

The reason I'm not giving this product a 5 is I'm not quite sure what it means when the package labeling states "manufactured in the USA." It's unclear to me whether that means all the products used in the treat also are original to the USA. Since the labeling is unclear, I'm not willing to give it a 5 until I know more. WOULD GIVE THIS A ZERO if allowed. Today this product malfunctioned and repeatedly shocked my dog, which provoked a dog fight with my other dog. As I write this, I have just finished cleaning & dressing puncture wounds & will have to make a trip to the vet for a thorough examination. It will be who knows how long before the dogs will reach their previous comfort level with one another, if ever. It's just a good thing I have never left the dogs alone and unattended when wearing these collars. First thing after breaking up the dog fight, separating into closed-door rooms and assessing the damages and cleaning & dressing wounds, THESE COLLARS WENT INTO THE TRASH.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: This might have worked well if the directions had been correct. The directions say to start at lowest level, which I did. After researching the use of these types of collars, I found that starting at the lowest level and working up only serves to gradually increase the dog's tolerance to the corrections as the levels are raised. I can't really comment on its effectiveness (if used correctly and not according to the directions that came with it) because as a result of going by the directions the dog's tolerance level increased so even the highest setting became ineffective. I might wait until some months have passed and try again, only correctly this time, and then update these comments. The collar's pros are that it is very lightweight and easy to adjust the size. Took a couple minutes to locate the itsy-bitsy lever inside the battery compartment that adjusts the correction level; that could have been marked better, either in the instructions or on the unit itself.

**WARNING: If your dog will be swimming or getting wet with this collar on, DO NOT BUY IT!** More info below.

I recently had a very expensive training collar set die on me and, not wanting to spend another $200 to replace it, I bought this as a stop-gap, seeing as barking is usually coupled with my dogs' bad behavior. If anything, I could fake them into thinking I was always watching their bad deeds. And it works like a charm! They could swear I'm omnipresent wherever they wander.

First, these collars come with cheap non-alkaline batteries, so buy decent batteries when you place the order. Once you install alkaline batteries, these collars will last a good long time (at least two weeks).

The directions are not very helpful for these things, but the adjustment screw varies the shock level, not the bark detection level. Apparently bark detection is hard coded in this collar. Luckily, it is nearly perfect in detecting true barks, and the rare times it has a false trigger, it just sends a warning beep, not a shock, on the first detection, so your dog isn't punished for wearing a collar while being a good dog.

On the note of warnings, this collar has a great warning system, which goes from a quick warning beep on the first bark, to a long warning on the second bark, to a shock and beep on the third. Granted, a determined barker will figure out two barks are always "allowed" before a shock, but for my dog he found counting was just not worth the effort and became a nice, quiet dog any time the collar is on. Note, this collar will not detect growling, so they can still be dogs and alert you, just without a house rumbling bark like my lab has.

**IMPORTANT!! The collars themselves are NOT WATERPROOF, which is where the real trouble comes in. If your dog gets wet while wearing this collar, you have a very real chance it will short it out. This alone wouldn't be awful, but these don't just short out and die, they short out and go into a constant shock cycle, shocking your dog over and over until you either figure out what is wrong and remove it or the battery dies!! Note, it can take up to two hours for the batteries to die while in the shock loop! Imagine being electrocuted for two hours straight!

**ALSO IMPORTANT!! If your dog ever goes swimming with this collar on, the same shock loop WILL happen, and the collar will never recover, even after being dried out. I made this mistake, drying out my last collar, only to have to going into t random shock loop a couple of hours into my dog wearing it. He started to hide next to me with his "I'm sorry!" look, and I didn't know why.. ends up he was in a shock loop, yet the collar wasn't beeping to warn me it was happening! VERY, VERY BAD!

If, however, you plan to use it inside, or at the dog park, or while walking in areas where your dog can't swim, then this collar is fabulous for a very low price. I highly recommend it for anyone with a "yipper" type dog, as your neighbors will thank you for it. Nobody wants to listen to a neighbor's dog bark incessantly. Be a good neighbor and buy this, or a waterproof version of a bark collar.

Berk collars such as this are a win-win for everyone, including your dog, as it won't get animal control called on it.

Our first order never worked, so we swapped it out with a replacement. That one would not hold a charge.It completely died after one bark. Not sure what the issue is, I have had this collar before a few years back and it was great but now that I replaced it with the exact same thing, the quality really went down. 2 defective collars?!These are just plain junk! It's unfortunate because they used to be great collars, whoever is manufacturing them now killed a once awesome product

Sunvalleytek BK017 Anti-Bark Shock Collar

I bought this because it was cheap and I never intended to shock my dog, I just figured I might have to because he barks all the time and the nieghbors hate him so much that they put him inside my house when I leave. THEY dont have to clean up everything he destroys which is WHY he is outside. Anyway. I got him this:Pettag Large over 25# Dog Sonic & Vibration No-Bark Collar and he didnt care, so I put this shock collar on him and he got the point and now I can use the non-shock one. I didn't notice anything bad about this one except that its cheaply made, but its cheaply priced so DUH. But it does work, surprisingly. And I havent seen it false trigger. It only has one dial, I think it says it has two, but it adjusts the sensitivity and it works best on about medium I'd say, otherwise whimpering sets it off, turned all the way down and his barking WONT set it off. Try it out its cheap.

Inexpensive. Cheap isn't a word for this item. It does exactly as advertised. It only took one static shock to convince my dog that something very uncomfortable will happen if you keep barking after the warning tone. When the tone goes off, Chloe calms right down. There is a thumb wheel adjuster on the colar. I found that the best way to adjust this is to hold it and bark at it. Keep incrementally moving the wheel toward the maximum setting until it goes off when you bark. I put a very small piece of Scotch tape over the thumb wheel to prevent it from moving. This method will preclude any false alarms to the dog. Before I started using the tape to keep the wheel in place, Chloe somehhow did something that moved the wheel to its most sensitive setting. It would sound the tone when she would bite on her food. The poor dog stopped eating. Use the tape. I recomend this product. Looks cheap but is actually inexpensive.

LIKES; The least expensive bark shock collar I found anywhere. The collar for the money cured my barking dog issues, DISLIKES; The collar gives dog a longer than expected warning tone so dog learns to bark till the tone goes off.

Premier Collar, 1-Inch

I chose to return this collar. I purchased 3. I have 3 dogs with thick necks, but small heads. I wanted a collar that was comfortable for daily wear, but that the dog couldn't back out of on lead.

If I had intended to only put this on my dogs for walks, and then remove when we got home, then this would have worked. The collars did feel very solid. Although, the adjusting needed to fit the neck properly would make frequent "ons and offs" kind of a pain?

However, my intent was to put it on, and leave it on. Two problems I didn't like-

The premier collar has a fairly large choking loop. So much area was taken up by the choke loop, that I would worry about my kids accidentally hurting the dog by tugging too hard. In all fairness, this may be solved by my getting a smaller size? My dogs measurements were just on the edge between medium and large.

I considered sending it back and trying medium...because the price is really quite fair, and the quality great. But, this brings me to problem 2.

There is only one D ring...and it is, of course, on the choker loop. If you put the Dogs ID on that, it causes the choking loop to hang down. This seemed dangerous to me. It would clearly get caught on stuff and have the potential to choke the dog.

But, the price is right, and the quality good. (although, I did notice the 1 inch collar was better material than the 3/4...the latter seemed to be "snaggy") I reviewed the product description and found the collar was described perfectly. I guess that I just didn't know what I was looking for until I tried it on the dog, and found it did not suit my purposes.

I was able to find a Lupine collar that was perfect. Also, of course, on Amazon :)

Our dog had a medium-sized Premier collar before and we encountered problems taking it off every night -clearly, it was just a bit too small for her size (she's approximately 40 pounds, medium-sized). For this collar, I decided to measure her neck according to the instructions and she fell in the very high end of the medium collar and the low to medium range for the large collar (so, easy choice -large collar it is!). Unfortunately, because she's still a fairly small dog, the 1-inch size is a bit bulky for her and we have to tighten it to the max to keep it on (and it's still a bit large).

All that being said, I haven't seen her slip out of the collar yet and it's holding up well despite several runs in a creek and through the woods. Would definitely buy again, but next time hope they have blue in a 3/4"!

The martingale feature just doesn't work as well as a chain martingale collar. It look goods but just isn't as functional as I thought of it.

My pup and I love everything Zukes. We were big fans of Zuke's Mini Bakes so we thought we'd try this new Zuke's product. We ordered the Very Berryz flavor and we were not disappointed. The ingredients are great and about 50% of the items on the ingredients list are organic, which I love. My dog enjoys these treats and happily trains with them.

The one issue for us is that they are a little big. My boy is 15 lbs and it takes him too long to eat one of these (when given whole) to use effectively for a training session. So i have to break them up before a training session which I find a little difficult to do the cookies are a bit hard and they crumble a bit when broken. For larger dogs, I imagine this would not be an issue. In other words: Zuke's (if you're listening) I'd love to see this product in mini-bakes formulation! i have posted photos of the size difference of this product versus the mini-bakes for reference.

Also of note, this box is 14 ounces versus the 16 ounce box of mini-bakes. The cardboard product boxes are the same size, but the weight is clearly labeled, so it's not that I feel misled, but wanted to point out that you are getting less product.

Updated to add that my dog loves these treats so much, that after examining the ingredients and finding them to be vegetarian, both my partner and I tried a little piece of the treat! i was surprised that they are not especially sweet even though they have molasses in them. It reminded me of the crackers called Wasa Crisps.
