I picked these up one day at PETCO and was amazed. My two dogs went NUTS over them. If they even hear the bag they come running. Whoever came up with this recipe knows what dogs like! One of my dogs is older and can't chew as well and the softness is particularly great for him.

I have a JRT who is very picky about treats. He loves these. I like that there's no corn syrup here as in many soft treats. The best thing about these is they're soft enough to mold around his pills and he just gulps them down!

I have a 10 year old, rescued, toy poodle and apparently his previous owners taught him to beg for people food. I do not feed dogs people food but I feel so bad when he sits in the floor and begs while we eat dinner at the table. So I bought these to give him when he begs. He also has tooth issues, so I needed them to be soft. He liked it and wanted more, but he seems to like another one (of the same brand) better that is chicken liver flavored. My only issue is I paid 8 dollarsish for these on amazon and found them the day before my delivery arrived at Petsmart for less than $5. Will be purchasing there from now on.

I eagerly awaited this dog whistle. I was disappointed though when my dog did not react to the whistle. I had thought dog whistles couldn't be heard by human ears. This one sounds like a regular whistle. Also, I'm not sure what warrants the price given that it looks like a 50 cent product.

I've been using the simple solutions original training pads and when I saw these, I absolutely LOVED the idea of saving space in the landfill and ordered these immediately since my puppy was already using the original pads with NO problems. Well...these turned out to be a total disaster because these have small black specks in between the liners that it attracted my puppy to dig these out and therefore was shredding these pads to bits. I couldn't get him to stop and after almost a week, I went back to the simple solution original training pads. I was disappointed as I hate the idea of filling up the landfills with these pads that don't degrade like the eco-care.

Our 10 year old shih-tzu's back legs became paralyzed within 2 days of receiving his annual shots. He began to walk like a drunken sailor & within a few hours couldn't move his back legs, but could feel deep pain. Our vet said he might need surgery. I didn't like that idea so she treated him aggressively with steroids, muscle relaxants and pepcid for 36 hours. He didn't improve so we decided on back surgery & were told his chances of walking again were 10% with the aggressive treatment & 85% with surgery. We were told to get the house ready for him to come home...which meant a place to keep him confined for 4 weeks. We are using an old play pen that isn't safe for children, put a 4" thick orthopedic mattress in it, filled the empty space with boxes so our dog won't fall off the mattress, put an old shower curtain over everything & tucked it in...so he can't slip into any space and hurt his back or legs; put an old rug on top of the shower curtain and two puppy pads on top of everything. It turned out that he's never messed in his bed...and I found another use for the puppy pads.

We use a sling to hold up his back half, otherwise, he'd fall down. We usually keep the sling on him when he potties...of course, he pees on it, and the sling needs to be laundered before we can use it again. I decided to cut up a puppy pad & duct tape it around the sling! Problem solved. The pad easily slips off the sling when I need to change it. His sling has never gotten wet again. This is the only brand of puppy pads I've ever used so I can't compare them. However, these pads are doing a great job keeping the sling dry; I don't notice any pee odor on the pads. The pad catches all his pee & none of it drips onto the ground...so I'd say these are very absorbent. I get 4 sling covers from one pad. The size small sling for our Tzu measures 15" long x 4.5" wide. These puppy pads have proven to be invaluable & have saved me from doing endless loads of laundry, and buying more slings.

He learned how to ring these bells within 15 minutes of hanging them on the door and he could not have been prouder of himself. However, after going to the grocery store for an hour and coming home, we found the yellow strap of the PoochieBells chewed in half and laying beside a big pile of... well, you know. This product shipped VERY quickly. These look attractive hanging on my doorknobs. I was worried that my extremely active chewer might gobble these up, but she hasn't tried chewing on them at all. Well, I have to say this is a really good deal. I have just had to replace the batteries in the handset. I put new ones in the collar at the same time. Another Amazon dealer MYBATTERYSUPPLIER has a great deal on batteries and free shipping. You will need to order two cards as they have 5 on a card and the handset uses two at a time. Not connected with either company, just a happy customer.

The people complaining about short battery life are probably not using this correctly. I use this daily and it only takes about a 1/2 second click to get the dog's attention. Once you have that, then you can instruct with a command. I think people must be using this thing like a club and beating the dog up with it. Don't forget that after a battery change you need to "link" the handset and collar so save the instructions.

The 300 Meter range is well believable. I am only guessing the distance but around 900-feet has worked several times, thanks largely to the 12v handset. In transmitting, voltage is everything. Once he was chasing after three Coyotes and had I not had the control, he would have been a goner with several Coyotes on him. Fortunately after a quick zap he turned and ran back to me.

A couple of minor dislikes. The standby period on the handset is very short at about 2 minutes. The collar has a movement sensor so it is on all the time the dog is moving. To revive the handset you have to hold down a button for 10 seconds and that can be a long wait when you need it urgently. I now check the display and if it has just gone off, a quick click of the Mode button revives it instantly. I'd like to see a switch or a longer shut-off delay.

The other thing is the battery cover on the handset keeps falling off. I now have some sticky tape to hold it on. Not that big a deal since it looks like I am getting about a months work out of a set of batteries, I can afford an inch of sticky tape each time.

I still rate it at 5-stars.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: May 26th, 2011

Really fast shipping to my PO box. Instructions are clear and easily readable. I bought this to replace a $140 Name-Brand one with rechargeable batteries. The built-in battery in the collar died within 3 months and Name-Brand wanted $40 for a replacement as batteries have no warranty.

This unit came with all the batteries needed and it was ready to use in about 2 minutes. Make sure you FIRST read how to "link" the handset with the collar. It is simple to do, but will save frustration if you do not first link the two things electrically. To check the "link," press the "Mode" button for Vibrate and set the level at 10. Press the "Launch" button and watch it dance on the desk. If it doesn't dance then go back and "link" again. You will have to link with every battery change on the collar, but not on the handset. It's a single button click so no big deal.

I set the Static level to 5, put my fingers across the pins on the collar and pressed the "Launch" button on the handset. There is a tiny delay, maybe quarter of a second then the zap. It comes with a test light but I like testing these things with my fingers to see how high or low the numbers adjust the intensity. I figure if I am going to zap the dog it is only fair I get the occasional zap too, albeit at a lower level than the dog.

Both collar and handset have auto-off. You need to hold down the "Mode" button on the handset for 10-secs to wake it. The collar needs a little shake, just picking it up is not enough to wake it. Once it is on the dog it will be no problem wake up or stay awake. :)

I attached the collar to the dog (stubborn 80-lb Lab-Pit mix, but the sweetest guy) and off we went. I set the handset at 20 and gave a burst. The dog was startled but did not yelp. I went up by 10 until he yelped and then came back 10 and left it at that setting.

Normally I don't need to use the zapper as he responds to voice and treat commands really well, but we live out in the country on 160 acres with rabbits, snakes, lizards, mice, gophers, Coyotes etc. Unfortunately they are all too much of a distraction for the dog so I need the zapper for those times just to grab his attention. We did some training and he responded brilliantly with three rabbits and the lizard we encountered.

If you have never used or been shown how to use these types of trainers please go to YouTube etc and watch some videos as they need only be used very sparingly. They are used to get the dog's attention, not to punish him/her for not doing something. Treats are used to get them to do whatever you want them to do. So, basically it is Zap, Command and treat on completion. Most times the zap will not be needed unless they have lost focus. A dog's attention span is 1 second or 1 step whichever comes first.

It's only been two days, but already I am happy to give it five stars. I have no problems recommending this unit and the Amazon retailer.

I ordered this collar set and was dissapointed to find that it only worked up to 16 inches from the transmitter. I contacted the seller through Amazon email and I must say they were very polite and very cooperative. I had to pay for return shipping and, once received, they sent out a replacement set. When I received it, I found that it didn't work at all. It would not pair up with the receiver. I am once again in process of returning it and possibly getting another. Once again, they are very helpful and friendly, just not sure about the quality of this product. I will update again once everything is exchanged.

Works ok but collar has to be just right to get the shock to work. Vibrate works better. Main complaint is that it says both parts are powered by AAA batteries, which isn't true. The collars are but the remote is powered by 2 4A76 6V batteries. The ones that came with it lasted 3 days of moderate use. It turns off on its own so the remote was probably on less than an hour. Went to 6 stores, including 3 specialty stores, and can't find the batteries to power the remote. I found them online but now I have to wait a week to get them. I wouldnt buy this again just for the hassle or at least buy extra batteries when you purchase the system.

The remote that goes with this collar is very cheaply made and has some inconvenient features. The remote turns off after 2 minutes of not being used to conserve battery power. This means that the next time the behavior occurs and you need the remote you have to hold the button down for 3-4 seconds to turn it on AND since the button which turns it on is also the same button which changes the stimulus mode (i.e., beep, vibrate, or shock) every time you turn it on you have also changed the mode. So not only do you have to wait 3-4 seconds to turn it on but you also have to scroll through the mode options (another 3-4 seconds) to select the one you are using with your dog before you can deliver the stimulus to correct the behavior. We have a large, beautiful black and tan GSD. He is warm, loyal, loves all kids, protective (of course) and very very strong. We are training him in a different way.

He didn't understand it at first but immediately he got it. It is easy to make comfortable and it seems to fit as well as some of the $100 or more harnesses. This will likely last a few years, maybe not a decade but it is of pretty good quality. It makes our family outings with one of our pets more enjoyable and even helped him tone down his excitement WHEN THE HARNESS IS NOT ON. I was worried it would be too small but any regular large dog (Danes, Rots, Mastiffs, GSD's, Labs, etc) should be okay. Not sure a Tibetan Mastiff or St. Bernard or BARKLEY (from Sesame Street) would fit, though....good luck.
