We use the pet corrector spray to stop our Westies from barking at the fence. They are only 15 lbs, so we do not want to use more aggressive methods of control like shock collars. The 200ml size is wonderful because the smaller cans you get at the store just don't last very long. This product works reallly well for one of our westies, but the other is less affected by it. I purchased pet corrector because my 3maltese "were" barkers. Since I have used this product they are 99 percent better. All I have to do is give them a sound and they stop barking. I have used everything from bark collars ( which I hated) items ingested (some of which made them sick) and items put on their food. I have tried everything. I am now trying them on other behaviors that I am not pleased with and I do expect it to work just as well as it did on the barking. I bought a small can at the KC PetExPo just to try it. I have three, a chi, minpin mix and a mutt that I rescued. If the door bell rings they throw a fit. When in the yard and see someone they bark. You name it they bark. Just one hit of the product and they shut up. Only after a week they are getting the message. They seldom bark at all. The two older ones have it figured out. The younger one will look back at the house and think about it awhile and all I have to do is step out with the can in my hand and she will not bark. In fact I will hiss myself and they get the message. It works well with my biter as well. He likes to sneak up on visitors and nip at them from behind. Just hit a shot and he backs off. In fact he's not even interested in biting now. He's a minpin so he's a little more determined. Great product does not harm mine or their ears. Just a quick a note to help clarify that this item does have both zippered top (mesh) panel and zippered bottom (canvas) panel. Many reviews of similar products describe velcro used on the bottom. Perhaps this is a different item, or has been modified by the producers. So far my 8 month old has not figured out to chew or scratch through this, though she clearly could if given the inspiration and a few minutes of concerted effort! Having said that, I intend to monitor her in this very closely to be sure she understands it's another version of "kennel" before attempting to leave her in this pen with less supervision (she has already learned not to destroy her wire kennel and bed). This pen allows a little more room to stretch than the kennel, so I'm hoping it will be a nice option when visiting "grandparents", the office, etc; but I do not plan to leave her in it for long periods unattended -I doubt it would be secure or safe enough for that. The pen collapses easily and fits into a flat carrying case comparable in size to an artist's portfolio -there are no poles or frame parts to disassemble, simply unzip and remove the top and bottom and fumble a bit with collapsing the panels until you figure it out. Included illustrations are barely helpful. The pen provides good visibility and ventilation via the large mesh panels and ceiling. The canvas is not terribly heavy, but looks like it should hold up to moderate usage while keeping the pen light and portable. I would have preferred they use heavier zippers but so far they are holding up OK. Overall the pen is spacious, with plenty of headroom, highly portable and a great price. Seller shipped out immediately and it arrived within a few days.

This is the second dog playpen in our household. We wanted the zippered bottom because our dog used to pull up the Velcro bottom in our existing playpen. Unfortunately when we took this playpen to a friend's house, as we attempted to collapse the playpen, the zipper went past the zipper stop and detached completely from the playpen. Also, our 15 pound dog escaped the first time she jumped it just fell over. We had to add rocks to hold the pen in place and keep her from escaping. Our old playpen looks similar but is heavier and does not have this problem (instead she pulls up the Velcro bottom and sneaks out).

This was perfect for training my lab puppy, we would use it inside of the house while away at work, it leaves enough room for a small puppy pad and puppy bed and our puppy really enjoyed being in it, however it des take up a good bit of space so i wouldnt use it long term, he is now 12 wees old and we have him in a kennel but still take this when we travel and he has never tried to get out of it. over all is was a great purchase for the price and shipping was fast.

At first, we thought this harness was great. Our dog who usually pulls like a mack-truck slowed-down quite a bit due to the restraints that went under her front legs. However... when we took her on a short hike, we realized later--to our dismay--that it would pulled her hair and created sores under her arms and where the straps pulled through the ring at the top of the harness. She now is still recovering two weeks later with 4 huge scabs where the harness rubbed her. Ps--it has nothing to do with the size adjustment on the harness.

Premier Gentle Leader Head Dog Collar

This thing is AWESOME!! I have a very boisterous 136 lb male Great Dane. Even though he has been through obedience school, and obeys very well on command while indoors, it is still VERY difficult to control him when he gets excited on walks. Put simply: the dog is much bigger & much stronger than I am & as is common with Danes, does not realize his size or strength. With just one lurch from his excitement over a squirrel (dog, butterfly...whatever the stimulus is for that day), he can & has pulled me to the ground. Believe me: we've tried everything to remedy this & all else has failed. After expressing concern to our Veterinarian, he suggested that I purchase the Gentle Leader. It was the best Vet advice I've been given to date. I no longer risk getting pulled to the ground, or becoming a human kite everytime we go out. Maddox now walks right beside me, and listens to my commands with just a very, very gentle pull to the leash. His mouth is able to open freely & he is even able to take treats while the collar is on his head. Since he's more obedient, we go out more & for longer & more exciting excursions each time. If you buy this, definitely watch the DVD. Don't assume that you can just put it together & train your dog yourself. There are some really helpful & important tips on how you should handle your dog while on the leash. These tips *could* make or break your dog's response to the collar. Also, I do recommend going to a professional obedience school if your dog has obedience problems. Especially if you are dealing with a large dog. The Gentle Leader has been a phenomenal supplemental tool for us in the areas that could not be cured with regular obedience training: such as going on walks. In my opinion, the Gentle Leader, nor any other peice of fabric or leather, does not solely take the place of obedience school (atleast in problem dogs or large dogs) for this reason: Just as the animal must be trained, so must the owner. If you do not know how to handle your dog, nothing will help you. The training you both get from obedience school will make the Gentle Leader that much more effective.

One thing. As for the comment that this collar is cruel & a torture device, I have one word: RUBBISH. It is a far, far cry from a pinch or choke collar, and is much more humane than just being passive & letting the dog get gagged by his regular collar while he drags & endangers not only his owner behind him, but himself, as well.

The Gentle Leader should not be confused with other head collars like the Halti. It is FAR superior for any dog breed or temperament.

I've trained both my Golden Retrievers as well as the dogs of several relatives and many friends over the past six years using the Gentle Leader. With the possible exception of toy breeds, this is a God-send for any dog owner with a rambunctious, head-strong or hard to handle canine or if you just wants more control without the extra work and even trauma associated with neck collars in general.

I had my first Gentle Leader dog and then my second, walking and STAYING at heel, sitting automatically upon stopping, turning both left & right and no longer lunging, pulling, jumping or straying...and all within less than 15 minutes for EACH dog! Golden Retrievers are, of course, wonderfully easy and willing to train anyway, but this was SO incredibly fast, it was almost like watching some magic trick being performed.

It was my vet at Fort Lewis, WA who first taught me how to fit the collar and use it. Application is simple once you see it done for the first time. Just place the nose strap short of the flesh on the nose (allowing the dog to breathe, eat, drink and even carry items) and tightten the head strap about one finger tight behind the ears (base of the head, really). This gives you control (nose strap) and the dog a sense of well-being (head strap). Nothing at all is on the dogs neck or throat. I strongly encourage you to have someone experienced with the Gentle Leader's use show you hot to fit it properly the first time.

For all dogs I've since trained or assisted in their training there has been the short-lived "leader dance". This is where, after placing the leader for the first time, the dog hops in the air and then bows to the ground all the while with both front paws over it's nose while trying remove the collar. As you continue to give short firm tugs on the collar while continuing to walk the dog, the dance quickly disappears within just a few yards. I was amazed at how consistant this behaviour and its let up always is.

The leader basically uses the same physical restraint that a mother dog or pack alpha male uses to control a puppy or young dog. A grip over the nose and pressure at the back of the neck. It's purely coincidental that it looks like a horse halter.

The control comes from the strap over the nose. The leash clips to the bottom of this strap (under the lower jaw). A short, quick (but not violent) tug on the leash leash brings the entire head under control. The head follows the nose and where the head goes, the body must follow.

There is NEVER any need for jerking, pulling or strangling of the dog. There is never leash rope burns from having the dog take control and lunging away with you. Your arms stay in their sockets, palm blisters are a thing of the past (especially if you use a cotton leash, or at least a leather one...NEVER use chain or poly-fiber leashes).

Some breeds with huge necks and a high pain tolerance, such as Rottweilers, are easily and gently brought into line. My brother's was 2 years old and completely out of control. He was at heel, sitting and turning within 5 minutes or so and after I turned the dog over to my brother for about 15 minutes I took the dog back and let his 6 year old daughter lead him around. My cute tiny niece was less in control than the dog, yet they both performed as a team with ease.

The coolest thing about the Head Collar is how the dogs get really excited when they see it, knowing that it's going for a walk, training or just out in public. They LOVE the Gentle Leader.

The Gentle Leader is only used for training or control. The dog STILL wears its own neck collar, but only to keep his tags on, since dogs don't normally come with pockets.

The Gentle Leader is also a huge facilitator for "off-leash" training. The dog is so comfortable in taking properly given commands on leash, that doing so "off-leash" seems to take only one half to one third the normal time I was once involved. That, my friends, is a super endorsement, alone!

One last caution...I pray you are in no way a person who "stakes" out a dog for ANY reason. Regardless, the Gentle Leader should NEVER EVER be used to keep a dog attached to a stake or wire run. Running out to the end of the line and coming up short by the neck/shoulders is one thing with a neck collar. Staking a dog and KNOWING that a head collar will actually jerk and twist the head to snap the neck is nothing less than cruelty, if not out and out murder. Use the Gentle Leader ONLY with a leash with YOU on one end and the dog on the OTHER, please.

I have used this particular head collar on four different dogs with mixed results. Please note that all dogs were slowly and carefully desensitized to the Gentle Leader head collar, as directed by trainers and the training materials included with the head collar.

The first was a dog-reactive dog.

The collar did discourage pulling under low stress conditions and made pulling less painful. It allowed for greater control of the dog. However, if the dog was not kept soundly distracted he would return to fussing over the nose strap. He became so frustrated by the collar that he would rub his face on the concrete, claw at the nose strap, and come away bleeding. I returned to desensitizing him to the collar, assuming I had not given him enough time to adjust. I found myself spending more time training him to accept the collar than working on modifying his unwanted behaviors.

The second dog was a fearful dog.

The dog would completely shut down whenever he wore the collar away from his safe zone. We spent more time trying to desensitize him to wearing the collar outside of his safe zone. Because he would shut down and stop responding we could not get any results.

The third dog was a confident, social dog.

This particular dog had pulled his whole life. To my knowledge, no one had attempted to discourage the pulling behavior. I noticed improvement as soon as we left the yard. It didn't just lessen the pulling, it stopped it.

The fourth was an untrained and social puppy.

Not accustomed to rules or boundaries, the puppy was constantly testing the limits of the collar. If he was not properly engaged in training he would return to pawing at the nose strap, hindering training. Distraction caused by the nose strap was lessened by padding the nose strap with faux fur. He was doing fairly well on the collar and with training. One day, another puppy approached and he began that endearing puppy wiggle, wagging his tail so hard his whole body shook. Without warning, he lunged forward. Despite being on a short leash, he hit the end of the leash hard enough that the collar jerked his head sideways. He let out an ear-shattering yelp and acted subdued thereafter. For safety reasons, we discontinued the use of the head collar.

Pros:

Gives greater control to the dog handler, regardless of the dog's size and the handler's strength.

Lessens or eliminates the pain and discomfort the handler experiences when dogs do pull.

Discourages pulling.

Can be used with either traditional punishment based training or progressive reward based training.

Will not choke the dog when used with nose strap

Cons:

Requires time for dogs to become accustomed to this training tool.

Requires careful adjustment of straps -improper fit impedes training.

Can rub hair off and/or cause irritation if worn or fitted improperly.

Capable of injuring a dog that lunges or does "zoomies" while worn and leashed.

May cause fearful dogs to shut down and inhibit behavior change.

May exacerbate reactive or aggressive dogs' unwanted behavior.

The nose strap may irritate the dog, requiring padding to be sewn on by owner.

The nose strap is not durable and can be easily destroyed by chewers.

Dogs CAN learn to ignore the head collar and pull anyway, meaning you will still need to teach the dog how to walk with you.

Short-muzzled dogs may find it easy to remove the nose strap.

Results vary.

For successful training, I recommend developing mutual respect and trust with your dog. With mutual respect and trust there isn't anything you can't accomplish with your dog.

If I can teach my dog to walk nicely with me, ANYONE can. Don't give up!

I previously purchased a pronged collar to aid in training my 1yr old pit bull. That felt cruel and painful, so I purchased the Gentle Leader Head Collar on a recommendation from an employee at a local pet store.

It came with a 15 minute training DVD which demonstrates, put it on, and fit the collar and some property training techniques. We spent about 15 minutes, putting it on, and getting the fit just right and letting her get used to it before we headed outside. As the video suggested, I had several treats which helped putting it on the first time. The collar fits exactly as advertised: it doesn't choke, and allows her mouth to open and breath without restriction.

Once we got outside, she knew exactly what to do! Because there was no tension on the leash, she was able to detect the slightest pressure to know that she was not doing what I wanted. She was very attentive, and I was able to reward her several times along the walk, when she stopped on command.

Positive, painless reinforcement is definitely the way to go. We've only had this collar for a couple walks, but so far it seems to be a winner.

Despite what the previous two reviews say, I have found that this product WORKS! I have an 85 pound German Shepherd who loves to chase squirrels, and he is able to easily pull me off my feet when he wants to chase one. "Leash training" just did not stick with him. Perhaps I wasn't consistent, but it became a chore to take him for a walk and so I started to not do it. This ended up creating even more difficulties!

Contrary to what earlier reviewers say, if you fit the Gentle Leader to your dog correctly it does *not* apply constant pressure and is *not* like being mouthed over the muzzle by another dominant dog. What it does do is allow you to control the dog by its nose, rather than by its throat. This has huge advantages: A) the nose and bone are composed of bone under the Gentle Leader, as opposed to soft tissue (like the windpipe), so if the dog does run against it no damage is done; B) the nose does not have the large amount of muscle that the neck/shoulders have, so the dog is less inclined to pull against the halter; C) when a dog pulls a leash, his/her attention stays fixed on the object it is running after when a dog pulls against the Gentle Leader, the dog's face (eyes and nose) is turned back to you, allowing you to recapture/refocus its attention. Think about it, would you try to control a big strong animal like a horse by putting something around its neck/shoulders? No, you use a harness!

I like this product so much I am getting 2 more (one has worn out with time 3 years and we have another dog as well). It allows me to control my dogs easily, and I don't have them gasping and pulling against the leash.

I have golden retrievers, and one of them needed this. Badly. It has completely eliminated his barking, at least when I'm home and from what my neighbors have told me. Unlike the Cairn terrier in the other post, my golden has decided he's not taking ANY chances, so if the collar is on, he's quiet. I have no idea if the battery is dead, and I rarely attempt to refill it.

I'm guessing the success of this really depends on the dog, and how badly it feels the need to bark.

I hate to admit that I used the bark shock collar years ago on another dog, and, while it was effective, I felt it was cruel. I never feel guilty about using this one. In fact, it was funny to watch his reaction the first few times he got sprayed.

We have a 7 lb Maltese who barks quite alot. We've tried shaking stones in a can, spraying water in his face, smacking newspaper on a hard surface....none worked! This collar does work. The first thing I noted was how poorly the adjustable collar was set up. My cairn terrier immediately was able to undo it and get it off--after which, he began to chew it up. To deal with the bad neck circumference adjusting mechanism, I used a very small plastic tie instead, and trimmed it short with the sharp side facing out. This did the trick, and since my dog was the only one who would ever wear it, I didn't have to worry about changing the length again. I also did the same operation for my father's 6 collars (same brand) for his large Bouvier dogs. The spray mechanism is rather big for a small cairn terrier, but it does work and doesn't seem to be too weighty. Caution: whistle in the speaker of collar to test if it works each time. My dog is smart enough to check for himself and will bark himself silly if the citronella has run out (which it does a lot!!!) or the battery is dead. Keep extra cans of citronella and batteries on hand, or you will regret it. I use this collar on my dog daily, so I check it each time because my neighbors are raw over his incessant barking. Works great! I have never used a shock collar, but this collar really helps my dog. Especially at the dog park when they get fixated on something or some dog and I need an easy way to get them to refocus.

Please do no think this means it will help a dog with problems at the park though. Mine are well trained but one is old and hard of hearing and the other is a young rescue. I made sure they are not aggressive and listen to me, but at big dog parks where they can separate easy it works for me.

The skinnier one is plenty strong enough for just about any dog. Might want to use the wider one on a dog that is so big and strong s/he wouldn't otherwise know s/he was on a leash.

EzyDog Chest Plate Harness

As a trainer I try to experience as many different products because no one product is right for all dogs. This harness is a very good harness for walking a dog that is fairly well trained to walk loose-leash. I wouldn't recommend it for a hard-pulling, untrained dog. For those a well-fitted head collar or a harness on which the leash attaches to a ring on the chest rather than on the back is best.

This company just doesn't get it, though. They don't package any instructions or illustrations that give the owner instructions on how to properly fit the harness. It isn't terribly difficult to figure out, especially if you are a trainer who understands what it takes to control a dog. But, someone who doesn't have that type of education or experience might not understand which straps should be adjusted a little tighter or looser than other straps. They might not understand that it is best not to leave a harness on a dog all day.

The harness, itself, seems to be well constructed. I downgraded my rating because there are no instructions for more inexperienced owners to refer to for proper fitting, which is extremely important when working with dogs.

I bought an XL for my German Shepherd (85 lbs) and a LG for my Rhodesian Ridgeback (76 lbs), both have sensitive skin. This harness is soft and has enough padding and comfort that it doesn't irritate their skin at all. Being that my dogs are also male and are very active I love the sporty look of this harness. The padding of the chest plate on it is also soft enough and can be molded to fit your dog's chest as well. There's also a lot of room when you undo the buckles which made me happy because my GSD is a BIG bog and he's nowhere done growing yet so buying something that he can grow into is what I was looking for. The fact that it also reflects in the dark is an awesome bonus seeing that we sometimes walk our dogs at night. And I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about it touching the dog's genital parts because that's absolutely ridiculous and false. The harness doesnt fit anywhere close to the dog's genitals. My guess is that the reviewer was trying to be funny or bought the wrong size for their dog. All in all this is a great buy for your dog. Not only does it look good but it does its job as well.

My 68 pound German Shepherd would exhaust me during our walks using either a regular collar or a Martingale collar. My husband kept pushing to purchase a prong collar in an effort to control our boy, but I refused to put one on him (he's 18 months old and a gentle giant). I keep the front loop that goes over his head snapped, so all I have to do is slip it over his head and have him lift his right leg through the right loop behind the chest plate(easily done and he's almost at a point where he'll do it himself) slide the open end behind his left leg, bring it up his side to his back and connect to the female end of the buckle which is next to the d-ring. It may sound complicated, but it's not I simply wanted to detail the steps, and it has become a simple motion.

I think the chest plate is what performs the magic. It's quite substantial and measures 11" long by 3-1/2" across at its widest point at the top, is not irritating and does not impede his gait. I believe the pressure he feels on his chest when he starts to pull keeps him in check. With a normal collar, he would constantly pull(which was probably only succeeding in making his neck stronger and stronger); and if he spied another dog ahead of us, I lifted off like the Flying Nun! People would ask "Looks like he's taking you for a walk again?". Those days are over, thanks to the EzyDog.....my left knee, foot and elbow couldn't take the strain and abuse of the constant tugging anymore.

The materials are sturdy, especially the d-ring to which you clip your leash. It's even easier to clip your leash in with this harness because the d-ring is on the top of the dog's back, not under his neck, lost in the fur, as sometimes happens with a regular collar.

By the way, I had also purchased the 6' long Gentle Tug leash in red which has a stretchy 1' long band sewn into the red nylon to absorb shock for the times our pup would lurch forward or quickly change direction. It's the perfect complement to the EzyDog Chest Harness, though you can't leave slack in the leash or his leg will tangle in the leash loop closest to his harness.

EzyDog also makes a bungee type leash, an extension and a life vest. I've purchased the leash/extension for my son to use when he goes long boarding with our pup and will review it in the future. The life vest is on back order so I'll review that piece of equipment once received and we have a chance to go to a local pond for a game of fetch with his new floating Frisbee......our pup seems to need as much gear as a new baby!

This is a major improvement over our previous basic harness, which always irritated our dog's skin. This harness has a nice padded chest plate which forms to your dog's shape within a few uses. I bought this primarily for use with the Walky Dog Hands Free Bicycle Leash. I also use it for walks (recommend EzyDog Cujo Shock Absorbing Leash, 40-Inch, Blue which has really cut down on pulling as it corrects the dog gently). The Ezy Dog harness also comes with a seat belt attachment, but I haven't had the chance to use this yet.

The Dog Outdoors has many great youtube reviews on these and other products (this is where I ended up purchasing the harness and other items). Great high quality harness and would recommend to others.

Though I have not experienced any reduced pulling that other people have attributed to this product, it is still a great harness which is what I was looking for.

My Bull Terrier is about 40lbs and is always hard to find the right size for her because of her unique proportions. I ordered the Large and it was perfect. The straps are adjustable so you can custom-fit it around the dog and I have little worry that she can wiggle out of it. I think the quality is pretty good and seems to fit comfortably (other harnesses tended to pinch the dog or be too tight around her giant chest).

The only thing I would change is to reinforce the rings, my dog pulls so hard I have always felt more comfortable using harnesses with double rings or considerable reinforcement. I haven't had any issues with the ring, just sayin' it would be an added bonus.

If you have a Bull Terrier you need this harness. There is a little picture of a Bull Terrier on top, so everyone thinks it's a custom-made harness for my dog :) I liked the product so much I bought the matching collar.

I have a Black Lab Mix, who is black from tip to toe. As the days got shorter, it dawned on me that I need to keep him safe and visible!

I looked around at a lot of collar options, many of which were similar to glow-sticks. I wanted something that would last us many years, and since this has a replaceable battery I see that happening.

Getting the collar on him is a snap, literally. It's just a regular snap collar. I love that there are several options of the light, including just staying on. I love this collar, and have already recommended it to several friends. Let's just hope it stands the test of time :)

UPDATE! I've bought 4 of these, 2 were red, 2 were blue. 1 red one broke within 6 months, and now a blue one has broken in 4 months. The red one stopped working completely (changed the batteries and everything) and the blue one has 1 working light and the rest are completely dead. At first if I twisted the blue collar I could get the other lights to briefly work but then they would go out again. This indicates to me very cheap wiring. I already knew it was of cheap construction at the battery casing, but now with the light issue I know the wiring is really poor. The sad part is I only used these on walks and never attached a leash to them. So for the wiring to become disconnected or severed just from my dogs walking around in them really indicates very poor quality. I would not recommend this product at all anymore. I've changed my rating to 1 start because of that.

It's very bright and seems to be of pretty sturdy construction (metal clip). Its a bit hard to press down and activate, but I like that because that way my dogs wont deactivate them by running around. I've had them for about a month, and so far a very solid product. I'm thinking about buy 4 more and attaching them at 3 points evenly along a collar. That way they're lite up from all angles. Its probably over kill, as 1 really does the job....but its just something I'm thinking about.

This is the 2nd LED dog collar I've bought in the last year and I am quite pleased with the blue version. The first one I purchased was the red version of this collar. I really prefer the blue to the red, as its MUCH brighter. Having 2 golden retrievers their fur has a way of obscuring the lights. With the blue version the light has no trouble being seen, even through the fur. I found the red ones to not quite get the job done because of the fur issue, thus that's why I bought the blue version. Even without putting either collar on my dogs the blue version is still much brighter than the red.

I walk both my goldens on a trail along a local bayou at 5am, way before the sun comes up. These suckers really help me see where my dogs are while off lease (no worries, no roads or cars anywhere nearby).

Only 2 negative things I will say about them is they really go through their batteries at a decent rate (usually last around 3 maybe 4 weeks 1/2 hour walk every day) and the battery casing is made out of cheaper plastic. I highly recommend buying the 'Bluecell 25 pack of the CR2025 lithium button cell battery' sold on amazon (buying these type of batteries in stores is MUCH more expensive!!). Its a pretty easy deal to change the batteries out...you just need a small phillips head screwdriver (the size that you would use to work on the inside of a computer) to remove the screw from the plastic casing and then put in 2 new batteries. I use the screwdriver to push out the old ones and slide the new ones in place. Just be careful with the plastic casing when you're putting it back together. As I mentioned its pretty cheap plastic and can break if you manhandle it...plus the wiring seems delicate as well. The hinge that keeps it together at one end is a plastic bar that fits into a plastic fitting, so if you don't have it set correctly when you screw it back together you can break the bar. Its really not a big deal at all if you just take your time and be careful with it.

I only use this collar as a light device, not a primary collar, so I don't attach leashes to it. I still leave my dogs other collars on and attach the leash to that. I don't want to risk the chance of putting additional pressure on the collar with having a leash attached and my dogs pulling on it (usually only when they see a cat or squirrel). I'm not saying you couldn't, I just haven't tried to because I want these suckers to last and the only reason I have them is for a light device.

UPDATE! For whatever reason these blue LED collars batteries last WAY longer than the red LED collars. I have no idea if they started putting in better batteries from the start or what. But I've been using them daily now for just over 3 months and haven't had to replace the batteries yet. I probably will later this week as it seems like they're slightly less bright then when I started. But still, its a HUGE improvement over the red LED collars I had before.

This collar was awesome when I took it out of the package and put it on my dogs. It is bright, colorful, LED, and has three light settings. I was so excited (being a sucker for flashing lights). However, the on/off button was poorly located. Everytime my dogs scratched, layed down, played, etc... they would turn the collars on themselves. The batteries lasted almost a whole week. Ok I understand that when you leave something on, the batteries run dead. So I gave the collars the benefit of the doubt, and bought new batteries. Each collar takes two batteries at $1.50 a battery. I replaced the batteries and much to my complete disappointment, one collar had only one LED work on it. The other collar didn't work at all. My inspection of the collars concluded that with all of the playing, scratching, etc... the battery compartment was easily compromised, being made of thin plastic. This more than likely allowed water/dirt inside the battery compartment, shorting out the electrical wiring. Will not buy another one. This is a cheap, cheap, cheap collar until they relocate the battery compartment (on/off button), and make it out of something a little more durable than thin plastic.

This product works well for what its designed to do, absorb doggie mess. It has helped us train our dachshund puppy to go outside better, but there's one problem. He loves playing and digging in the grass. Therefore, he also loves digging and playing with this pad because its "grass scented". I'm sure not every dog reacts this way, but ours did. I think it helped him know to go outside when we take him out, but we'll change to just a normal pad when we run out of these, and hopefully stop some of the digging and shredding we're dealing with now.

For one reason or another, my dachshunds seem to stand with their front paws on the edge of the pads I lay down for them, and when they do their business they end up just catching the edge of the pad or marking the carpet just inches from it. I struck on the idea of using one of these pads for its strong scent attraction properties, surrounded by relatively inexpensive unscented pads (I use Prevail pads, also available on Amazon). The first time I tried this one of the dogs (I presume it was the 8 week old puppy she's the digger) ripped the Nature's Miracle pad to shreds. However after putting these pads aside for a few weeks I tried again, and it worked. When we get home from work now the Prevail pads are soaked. Interestingly, the Nature's Miracle pad is often untouched.

This is the first scented pad I've tried that my dogs are very strongly attracted to. The pads themselves are relatively small, so if you plan on using them by themselves or if you have a larger dog, you will probably end up laying down several at a time and running through them fairly quickly.

The world is a funny place...glue that shouldn't stick sticks to the point of tearing the product...and glue that SHOULD stick, doesn't! While unfolding these pads, the little bits of glue used to hold the folded side in during the folding/packing process at the factory..hold so tight that I had to manually pull each glue spot apart...and many times, it tore the pads. If you didn't try to unstick it, and just laid it down, it had a hump in it...a hump any puppy would spy and grab to play with it. Normally I like Natures Miracle products, but I bought a different brand of pads when these ran out. Sorry Nature's Miracle....get cheaper glue that doesn't stick so well! :)

When we adopted our super-fluffy mutt, his foster mom referred to him as "Mr. No Neck" and suggested we use a Martingale collar. This one is much better than the Premier collar he came to us with. It's thicker, so I feel like it's less likely to choke him or cause tracheal damage, and the material is much finer and better quality. He's worn it for over 6 months now and it still looks brand new; no wear or fraying at all. The only thing that bothers me is that there's no place to attach the tags to keep them hanging straight down. If you put them on the second metal loop, they shift way off to the side once a leash is attached. I wound up attaching them to the plastic slider piece that keeps the doubled-up nylon together, and his tags still hang lopsided, just not quite is much. I wish there was a way to evenly space the leash loop and the tags.

This collar to me looks like a very good quality collar. I am using it for my greyhound which as many of you know their head is shaped so a regular collar they would just slip out of. I was very impressed with the texture of this collar, it feels like a rubbery type material that I feel should last a very long time. I am very happy with this product.

Canine Equipment Technika Martingale collar is excellent for loose leash walking training and for dogs prone to startle. My dog is easy to startle and the martingale prevents her from backing out of her collar and running off. It is built well with high grade webbing and hardware. My German Shepherd loves to gnaw the ends of bones and sticks. And he loves to use his front teeth to shred ropes and soft toys. I thought I had found a soft toy that he could toss and flip around inside the house, and would hold up better than a plush or rope toy. Alas, I was wrong. He quickly shredded the ropes that were woven through the rubber pieces, and left the rubber laying there once it came apart. It LOOKS stronger than regular rope toys, but it is only as strong as its weakest link.

My 90 lb. Golden Retriever liked this rope, but not as much as his other ropes. Maybe it was the black things in the middle that turned him off. In any case, the rope is not as durable as it looks (with the black rubber). It was destroyed within a week.
