Dog Supplies Pet Corrector Training Spray 200Ml

Dog Supplies Pet Corrector Training Spray 200MlWorks great! I just wish it was refillable. Exactly as described. Great deterrent for excessive barking and other habits you may want to correct. Humane and non-painful. Perfect! At the local dog boutique a 50 mg size of same thing costs $8 plus tax (7%) so this was a bargain! Thank you!!

We use the pet corrector spray to stop our Westies from barking at the fence. They are only 15 lbs, so we do not want to use more aggressive methods of control like shock collars. The 200ml size is wonderful because the smaller cans you get at the store just don't last very long. This product works reallly well for one of our westies, but the other is less affected by it. Like all other products, you won't know if your dog will respond to the sound, until you try!

My two three-year old Tibetan Terriers were unwelcoming hysterical barkers whenever anyone came to the door or entered the house, scaring the bejaybers out of friends, service people and kiddies. Just ONE blast of the Pet Corrector accompanied by an emphatic "Oh, No" ended this unacceptable behaviour after which they received a treat or an enthusiastic "good boys." Now, if they chase the cat, bark at the neighbors, etc., I just pick up the can and everything calms down. We can now sit on the front porch together enjoying the scenery, no longer terrorizing passersby. Thanks Pet Corrector our lives have been changed for the better.

I purchased pet corrector because my 3maltese "were" barkers. Since I have used this product they are 99 percent better. All I have to do is give them a sound and they stop barking. I have used everything from bark collars ( which I hated) items ingested (some of which made them sick) and items put on their food. I have tried everything. I am now trying them on other behaviors that I am not pleased with and I do expect it to work just as well as it did on the barking. If you have any doubts about this product, please give it a try and see how FAST it works. Bring it in the car also or on walks. You don't need but 1or2 squirts and it gets their attention. Most humane item yet GREAT

I bought a small can at the KC PetExPo just to try it. I have three, a chi, minpin mix and a mutt that I rescued. If the door bell rings they throw a fit. When in the yard and see someone they bark. You name it they bark. Just one hit of the product and they shut up. Only after a week they are getting the message. They seldom bark at all. The two older ones have it figured out. The younger one will look back at the house and think about it awhile and all I have to do is step out with the can in my hand and she will not bark. In fact I will hiss myself and they get the message. It works well with my biter as well. He likes to sneak up on visitors and nip at them from behind. Just hit a shot and he backs off. In fact he's not even interested in biting now. He's a minpin so he's a little more determined. Great product does not harm mine or their ears. It just breaks their attention span so you can say NO and they understand.

Super Pet Puzzle Playground

Super Pet Puzzle Playground, 60 PiecesOverall this is a good product. When assembling, I ended up having to superglue the peices together to make it hamster safe. (Make sure to air it our for a few days!) Now, my hamster sleeps in it, stores his food in it, and even manages to stuff all the extra space with bedding, which is quite amusing being he has to carry it up a tube mouthful by mouthful. The rubber loops that attach to the tubes are also compatable with the Critter Trail Tube Extensions, so this playground can be put in or out of the main cage. I wouldn't suggest using it as a main cage however, it would be to small. Also, the main pannels I recieved were not clear as in the picture, so its a little harder to see your pet when he is in it. (check out the customer images to see my design :)

This can be a little feisty to put together the first time, but once you get the hang of how the pieces snap together, it's easy. My hamsters absolutely adore the creations I've put together for them using this set. And best of all, the tunnels you can build are big enough for a full-grown adult Syrian hamster to use with ease!

My hamsters love these things. They're customizeable and translucent so that I can always see my hammies. I change it up every so often so that my hamsters won't get bored.

However, don't think these connect to any normal (SAM, Crittertrail) sized tubes or anything. And it's difficult to assemble.

I bought this product and was not happy at all with it..for one it costs to much for what little bit you get..it took me an hour to get it together. I would not recommend this product. My hamsters keep getting out of it..it is very cheap made and I did not like it when I got it..it keeps falling apart.

My hamster has had this in her cage for over a year, she loves to climb all over this toy, and sleeps inside it. Sometimes she stuffs it too much with toilet paper and bedding that parts of this toy snap apart, and fixing it only makes the other pieces snap apart. :

Spotty Cleansing Wipes, 75 Count

Spotty Cleansing Wipes, 75 CountCan't say enough how great these wipes are. From the first to last wipe in the container they are super-moist, thick and do a GREAT job cleaning cat urine/feces and wiping away odor. The scent is a clean, great scent that is not perfumey and sickening like many pet-cleansing products out there. Just clean and fresh. I appreciate this product.

I have two beagles who love to dig! I have tried several different brands of wipes, and these are by far the best. They are thick and hold up to my dog trying to pull on them while I'm wiping off her feet. She seems to think it is a game! Other wipes rip the second she bites them, but these are strong. They have a good level of moisture and don't dry out over time, like many do. They have a pleasant scent, too. They are also a good size I don't have to go through 5-6 wipes to clean the paws of one dog! One wipe covers one dog's feet unless they are REALLY muddy. I have also used them to wipe down their coats.

PetZoom Pet Park Deluxe 3-Piece Dog Relief System

PetZoom Pet Park Deluxe 3-Piece Dog Relief System======================

THE NEW DELUXE VERSION:

======================

What makes this "deluxe" version stand out is the removable tray.

The PetZoom is the only model where the pee drains into a removable tray (see pic), which is MUCH easier to empty. In all the other models (including the cheaper PetZoom models), you have to carry the WHOLE unit (a big 2-foot tray of pee) to the bathroom to empty it, and cross your fingers you don't spill any. Simply put, it's a better design the pee drains away, so the astro-turf isn't sitting in a pool of pee all day, soaking it up.

The pad dimensions are 18"x24" (external dimensions of 20"x25"). This is currently priced at $99, when the "regular" PetZoom pad is $26-$34 ... again, with the only difference being the removable tray. It's a very nice feature, but I'm not sure it triples the value of the product.

=============

MY EXPERIENCE:

=============

My dog thinks these things are beds! LOL ... none of them have worked for us (yet).

He's getting older, and maybe once a week we have an accident where he can't hold it. He actually has taken to sleeping on top of the PetZoom (forget about the expensive Martha Stewart doggie bed we bought him! LOL) ... and got *OFF* it to pee on the floor, then hopped back on to go back to sleep!

I don't know that I can fault the products (it seems to work for maybe half the dogs out there, 50/50) so buying an astro-turf pet pad may be worth a shot if you need a solution.

===============

DESIGN PROBLEMS:

===============

We compared 5 units (see below), and most of them had the same problems.

The first problem is, the astro-turf slides off easily (on all 5 units) if your dog jumps on it, if a child trips on it, etc. It also means, a precocious dog could chew on the corners, pull the astro-turf mat right off the unit, etc. The edges should really be reinforced. The Potty Patch had the most durable astro-turf and least likely to slide off.

The second problem is, in 4 of the 5 units, the VOC's in the astro-turf are off the charts, & really smells. So even if your dog thinks it feels real, it definitely doesn't smell like anything in nature! So when you get it, rinse it over & over, then let it air out in direct sunlight for a few hours. The Potty Patch had the least offensive odor of them all.

The ideal scenario would be put the Potty Patch astro-turf on the PetZoom product, but the dimensions don't quite match up.

=============================================

SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON (with links & prices):

=============================================

(#2-#3) The "basic" PetZoom & the Pet Park

These units are nearly identical, with current price range of $25-$30, with free Amazon shipping.

These are probably the least expensive models you'll find, and may be a good place to start if you're not sure about it. They have no frills at all (cheap astro-turf, and no removable tray).

(#4) The Potty Patch by the American Kennel Club

Currently $33 with free Amazon shipping.

The major advantage of the Potty Patch is the higher quality anti-microbial, odor-fighting grass surface. All the others have basically the same astro-turf, which can get smelly, is less realistic, and some people complain their dogs don't like the texture. But again, it does not have the removable tray.

(#5) Ingrass Puppy Potty, with Free Spray Bottle of Puppy Attraction

The most expensive model on Amazon (currently $80), and also the largest. However, the other models should be fine for dogs up to 40 or 45 pounds. This model comes with a bottle of attractant, which I have mixed feeling about is this supposed to be the place your dog always pees? Or is it for emergencies only? Also, the spray may encourage them to pee on the *side* of the box to mark it and cover up the odor (instead of peeing *in* the box).

=====

Hope this helps save you some time & money!

What a wonderful concept; a designated place for dogs to relieve themselves when going outside isn't practical. It's much like the idea of a kitty litter box but, without the mess of the litter. The unit's three pieces appear to be well-made. The faux grass is one piece that fits right into a removable plastic tray. In this instance, your pet's urine goes through the `grass' and the plastic it sits in. Both pieces are held in the tray (the third piece) below. Your pet stands on an almost 2' X 2' area that's less than 3" high. That makes it accessible to virtually all but the largest dogs.

Solid waste is removed from the `grass' as you would if you were out walking your dog and removing it from a public area. The three parts of the unit (`grass', tray, and base) can be hosed to clean them.

In theory, housebreaking a pet should be more convenient. And once trained, this means no more rushing home to walk your dog; the Pet Park suffices until your return. Also, Poochie will suffer less stress during rainstorms, intense heat, blizzards, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.

I wish it were this clear for my little dog, Maxx. He just won't cooperate. He's sniffed and turned up his cute little nose at doggie pads, a `pee pee post', and the Pet Park. At this point, I'm almost wishing he'd do it in the house so I can put the `grass' into the puddle, retaining the scent for him. After eight years of doing it his way, I'm beginning to believe that, you really can't teach an old(er) dog new tricks.

Despite liking the concept and the quality of the product, the price seems excessive, especially if your pooch will use the Pet Park infrequently. Perhaps if you are a pet owner who uses the disposable pads daily (and for several years), the cost (much like buying disposable diapers) is far more than for the Pet Park.

The questions to ask yourself are:

1. Will my pet be able to adapt to using the Pet Park?

2. Do I want to have my pet use an indoor facility versus going outdoors?

3. Do I want to clean the Pet Park after its use?

4. Where will the Pet Park be placed in my home?(It needs to remain in the same spot.)

5. Am I willing to pay the manufacturer's price for the product?

If your answers to questions 1, 2, 3, and 5 are `yes', then the Pet Park is just what your pooch needs.

This pet system is easy to assemble and absorbs waste pretty well. Great for a young pup in training or an older dog who is left at home for longer period of time.

Beware that you'll need to train the dog to use this, as the dog will not naturally think this is the same thing as going outside.

I'm leaving this in my house as a "use-it-if-I-don't-get-home-in-time" for my 11-year-old dachshund.

I have the original Pet Park, which I purchased for my son's old Miniature Pincers. After getting them used to the idea of using it, the Pet Park has been wonderful! They are too old to hold it all day while my son is at work so it keeps my son from finding puddles (and worse) all over the house.

I was delighted to be offered a chance to review the Pet Park Deluxe since I often "babysit" my son's little dogs.

The Pet Park Deluxe is basically a 3 piece system for dogs to pee and poop on when they can't go outside. It consists of a rigid plastic base which slants slightly to a drain hole in the center. Underneath the drain hole is a plastic drawer. On top of all this is a washable, faux grass mat with a mesh bottom. When your dog urinates on the grass mat, it drains through the mesh base onto the plastic base which funnels down through the drain hole into the drawer below. Poop sits on top of the grass, ready for you to scoop up and dispose of.

Maintaining it includes emptying the urine out of the drawer on a daily basis, picking up any poop on top, and hosing off the entire thing at least once a week to avoid odors. It works very well as long as you keep it clean and emptied.

Here are a few observations and tips:

First, your dog may not know what to do with this initially. The quickest way to get them used to using it is to put a little of your dog's poop on the grass. Sounds gross but it's less gross that finding pee and poop all over your house! Also, watching and rewarding your pooch with a little treat when he/she uses it reinforces the behavior. Be patient, especially if you have an older dog. The effort you put into getting your dog used to using this will pay off handsomely.

Second, this is a good sized "park" (25" x 20") but I think it is most useful for small dogs and puppies. It will fit nicely even on a small patio for those who live in apartments. I can't imagine my lab being able to use it successfully, though.

Third, the key to keeping this fresh smelling is to hose it regularly. A pressure washer with some detergent is what we use so the mats always smell fresh, which is important if it will be in your house. Drying the grass mat in the sun really gets rid of odors, but it takes a little while to dry. I would suggest, once you make sure your dog likes using it, buying two or three replacement grass mats for this park. That way you always have a fresh, clean mat. Pet Zoom Pet Park Replacement Pads

Fourth, if your dog pees a lot or if you have 2 dogs, the drawer with the urine sloshes around a little when you pull it out to empty it. I use a folded up paper towel or chux pad in the bottom of the drawer to minimize sloshing. For dogs who only have trouble holding urine for long periods, a Champion Blue Disposable Underpads (Chux), Small Size 17 x 24, Pk/25 fits well directly under the grass mat and is easy to fold up and dispose of. The larger size pads work great, hold more urine, and only hang out a little around the sides.

Since my son's dogs are already used to their Pet Park, they have had no problem using this Pet Park Deluxe. Good thing for me since I had them here for the entire Labor Day weekend.

If you live in an apartment or are house training a puppy or have an older pet who cannot hold it very long, this product is fantastic.

Want PetZoom Pet Park Deluxe 3-Piece Dog Relief System Discount?

Nice, easy to clean 3-piece unit for indoor use by small to medium size dogs. The waste tray is removable and can be easily hosed off. My dog would rather sleep on the artificial grass, but once I taught him how to use it, this item will be well worth the money. What a relief it will be to no longer come home to surprises, or to have to rush home. So far, my task has been to teach an old dog new tricks, but I am confident that all will end well. This is a good looking non-toxic item, safe for your home and decor, although I plan on using it in the back patio.

Illusion Dog Collar & Leash Set: By Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan (Medium Red)

Illusion Dog Collar & Leash Set: By Dog Whisperer Cesar Millani have a 9 month old pit mixneedless to say he's strong and he's rambunctious. we've only had him for about a week, every walk was a nightmare. i used the illusion collar last night for my second walk with him (my husband was walking him until now because this dog is just so strong) i went alone, and with a series of gentle kissy noises to keep his attention when his nose started to wander, and cesar's tsst! when i needed to make a correction, Garth was a joy to walk! i couldnt believe the difference. our walk was only a 15 minute 'test' but his attention and focus were held the entire time, he was at my side as he should be, which is a real accomplishment for a dog that until now spent his most impressionable days inside a crate with little to no walking or training. he did so well, i am very happy i decided to buy it now intead of waiting (i was debating the cost and doubted how effective it would be)

completely worth the money! well made, corrections are easy, response is instant. i will be reccommending this to friends in need.

you should be walking your dog, not the other way around :)

Day one, what a difference! Instead of my dog tugging me as he did with his regular run of the mill collar, he pulls no more! This is huge and make our walks so much more enjoyable. You see I have a Border Collie and at age 4 1/2 he still is a hyper dude. This collar has saved the day for many more enjoyable walks!

My dog won a bag of these in his obedience class the first time we tried them; soon the cat discovered them and now she begs me for them daily. I like these because they are completely natural and nothing but salmon. I don't generally think of feeding fish to dogs but honestly I don't think there is a dog or cat out there that can resist them. I have to ration these or they would all be gone the first time I opened the bag. They are great for training treats because they are freeze dried and don't make a mess in your pocket or pouch and your dog will definitely pay attention to you in anticipation of receiving them. The 4oz bag has larger treats (approx. 3/4" square)perfect size for training and just break them in two for your kitty.

Travel Jump Set

Travel Jump SetThis is a nice training tool for dogs. I have two border collies and they both love jumping each of the hurdles. They are adjustable and have a nice carry bag too.

I specifically enjoy the travel bag, but overall it is a great travel jump set, easy to put up and take down.

Given the incredible low cost I'm quite pleased. The only concern I have is with the snap-on pieces that hold the bar. I haven't had an issue and if I just leave them on and slide them up and down as needed I shouldn't have a problem. I'd like to have two crossbars but given the price and ease of putting together, this is a great deal.

I like these jumps, they were easy to set up, good quality. The only thing that would make this product better is if the standard bar height was marked on the poles. You have to measure/mark the bar heights after the jump is put together. Even a template would be helpful. Otherwise it's the best I've purchased and the price was right.

Durango Chiplets Dog Treats, Carrot, 16-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 3)

Durango Chiplets Dog Treats, Carrot, 16-Ounce PouchesI've been buying the LIVER chiplets for over ten years and now they have stopped making them and substituted with carrot and peanut butter. I'm sure this is due to the cost of producing the better liver product but they've lost my business to the tune of 12 to 15 bags of the 16 ounce chiplets per year. I will not buy any Durango products again. I have a 9 year old Cattle Dog who is very displeased with both the products I tried. I am around 6 to 12 dogs every day at my work and none of them like the products as well as the liver. Some won't eat them at all. Along with that the carrot ones I recently purchased are somehow fluffed up in the baking process and consequently break apart and disintegrate in my pocket. Stop trying to make our dogs vegetarians--they are carnivores. BRING BACK THE LIVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I received them they were all broken up. They use to be much harder than they are now. I liked them better before they Durango changed them.

Hagen Dogit 30-Pack Training Pads

Hagen Dogit 30-Pack Training Pads, Value BundleI was skeptical about buying this since it was only $4.91 on prime with the free cleaning solution. Since the pads themselves are advertised for $12.71, I thought this is too good to be true. I normally use the Hartz blue pads that are 21x21, and these are advertised as 22x22 but are actually, only 21x21 nonetheless, they were a great deal and very soft and good to use. I keep them under food dishes and litter boxes, and I line the inside of litter boxes with them under the bags and they work perfect. This was an insanely good deal, just as good as the Hartz (although not antibacterial, which is the only downfall), but 1/3 the price of Hartz. Comes with the solution, smells pretty goodnot perfect, but still worked wonders when I was washing the litter box. overall, I am buying a few more packs of these now while they are on sale and on prime!!

The pads do not absorb well and there is no adhesive to hold them down and

this makes for a messy situation

SportDOG In-Ground Fence System, SDF-100

SportDOG In-Ground Fence System, SDF-100I bought this after having a company come out and quoted a price of $1,583 to install a wireless fence. We have a little over half an acre and there was more than enough included wire to install. I rented a gas edger at Ace for $23 for a couple hours. And used a thin piece of plastic to push the wire in the slot from the edger. I was very leary of doing it myself but didn't want to spend the money having it done. And I'm glad I did because installing this thing was so easy I couldn't believe it.

Now as far as effective it WORKS! Our black lab was very easy to train. In a week of walking her around the yard showing her the flags she figured it out. She is also a lot more laid back in the yard. Instead of chasing birds and rabbits she now sits there and watches them. I recommend this product to everyone. The collar takes regular 9 volt batteries so no special ordering and paying an arm and a leg for them. However I would not use it on a very small dog because the collar is pretty wide and the box isn't as small as others. There are others at Amazon that would be better for a tiny dog.

Everything needed other than the edger was included in the box. Also took about 3-4 hours to install from start to finish.

UPDATE:3-21-08 After having this for nearly a year we are still very happy with it. I was worried it wasn't working because I never have seen the low battery indicator light up on the collar. So I tested it and it is still good. So after 11 months we have not had to replace the 9-volt battery. It also has no interference with our neighbors underground fence either.

They really thought of everything with this one! I love the added vibration feature on the collar as an additional warning to the dog. I've had and used many other systems throughout the various homes I've owned, but this is the most comprehensive system yet.

The collar unit is a bit large, but that's necessary to acccomodate the 9-Volt Battery. Which is great because battery replacement isn't a problem!!!

Buy SportDOG In-Ground Fence System, SDF-100 Now

I did a lot of research before buying this product, and ended up buying this brand for the positive reviews, and good name.

It works, and has made my home more delightful. My dog loves to run in the yard, and was miserable being tied to a run. He is very fast, and before we had this fence would get loose frequently... every time directly into traffic.

The price of this product is reasonable when compared to some of the others on the market, and it seems that you get good value for the cost. It sure beats having to pay an emergency vet bill with the dog finally gets hit or causes an accident.

I have two small complaints about the product, and something I think people should be aware of when buying this product.

First, I find that the fence doesn't give the dog as much warning as I would prefer. You can change the setting to allow the for maximum amount of beeping warning before the dog is shocked, but it significantly cuts down on the "free" area. In my case, if I were to turn the fence to a higher warning level, the dog would not be able to pass between the house and the fence to get from the backyard to the front yard. I personally wish that the dog was given more time to react to the beeping warning before the shock correction.

Second, the training manual in the product didn't work for my morals. In a number of instances it tells you to trick the dog into going out of range while you are training them, sometimes by throwing a treat out of range, and other times by going out of range and calling the dog. I preferred not to have the dog associate the shock with being with me, so after the initial few shocks, and the showing the dog his boundaries, I allowed him to roam for small periods while I observed from my porch. In the few following times that he was shocked, he ran directly for me or the house, and eventually would run for the house when beeped.

It may be different for a less timid dog, however it was something I thought people should think about first.

That all being said I love this product, we are all happy... including the dog :)

PS. do get the power edger, I couldn't imagine doing the instillation without it! we found an attachment for our weed-wacker right at home depot.

This review may be a bit premature because I only finished the fence and started training yesterday, however, I must say that I am extremely pleased with both the product and the results that it has had for our two yellow Labrador retrievers. They have quickly learned what their boundaries are and won't even go near the line of flags outlining their outer limits.

The system is comprehensive in that just about everything is adjustible from the range of the boundary to the level of correction and even the type of correction. I have the collars set on 2, the lowest correction and it's more than enough for our Labs to get the idea that once the collar starts to buzz and beep that a static correction is not far behind.

When they say that the system comes with everything you need, they mean it. It comes with 1000 feet of wire if I ever need to replace my fence I have more than enough line to do the whole perimiter again, about 15,000 sq ft. You don't have to buy the special twisted wire either just twist it up yourself to create an area of cancelled signal.

My hope is not to create a situation where my dogs get shocked I intend to follow the training guide to the letter so that they KNOW their limits and stay well within them, thus allowing them more time to be where they should be anyway without my worrying that they will take off only to get into heaven knows what.

My only regret with this system is that I didn't buy it sooner.

Installation was not difficult. Using a drill to twist the lines worked really well.

Only one complaint. We have a long, narrow lot with a house close on one side and a fence on the other. The boundary width is adjustable, but at the low (narrowest) settings, the signal seems inconsistent (as in the boundary width is different at different places along the length of the wire.) At first I turned it down to a low setting so that the dog could pass safely from the front yard to the back, but then she could run right through the fence elsewhere without getting a "static correction". When I widened the boundary to keep the dog from running through the fence in those places, she couldn't get by the sides of the house to get to the front yard without getting buzzed. We tried to set it at a compromise level, but never found a workable setting where the boundary was complete but where the dog wouldn't be shocked when she was simply trying to move from front to back.

What we ended up doing was let her be shocked a couple of times so that she would associate the flags and the sound and vibration of the collar, then we turned the shock off (just let the collar vibrate and ring). This has worked well, she does not cross the boundary, and we don't have to worry about her getting shocked when she is standing in her own yard. Bottom line, this may not be the best system if you have a small yard, or one that has an unusual or narrow shape. I'm sure it would be much better on a square quarter acre or larger.

Alfie Couture Pet Accessory - Flashing Pet Safety Collar - Collar Color: Baby Blue, LED Light Color:

Alfie Couture Pet Accessory - Flashing Pet Safety Collar - Collar Color: Baby Blue, LED Light Color: Blue, Size: XLWhen we let our small dog out at night, now know where he is. (and it's fun to watch the little blue light

running around -like a small, manic police vehicle...! ) But best of all, I can see if he is straying too far

and call him back. I thought we might have to replace batteries often, but nope! Still going strong.

I highly recommend this -have purchased another for a relative's dog, and she loves it too!

These things are great for walking dogs in the dark. They can be seen a long way off. If you dog has long fur, it might get buried under the fur somewhat but you can still see the blue flashes. Glad I bought them!

BUT, one of the LEDs quit working about half way down and I tried to contact the company numerous times; no one ever returned my calls. The collars are great--when they work, but the company's customer support leaves a lot to be desired!

Buy Alfie Couture Pet Accessory - Flashing Pet Safety Collar - Collar Color: Baby Blue, LED Light Color: Now

Shines pretty powerful, a lot more than the red one, (recommended). If I would have known I would have gotten two blue ones.

Tri-Tronics Trashbreaker G3 EXP Training Collar

Tri-Tronics Trashbreaker G3 EXP Training CollarBought this to try to keep my german shepherd from running off. We live in the country with several 300-500ft ravines, bluffs, forests, etc. Wanted something that wouldn't lose a signal. This fits the bill. My dog responded to the collar and was trained in less than 20 min. I don't use the shock part, only the beep. He is trained to come when I push the button twice. Working on one long tone to sit/stay, three short tones to come home. Great reception. I use in conjunction with the Garmin Astro GPS so I can keep tabs where my dog is on our daily excursions. Have not had any problem with communication through rough hilly tree covered terrain for up to 1.8 miles. Haven't tried further yet. Simple, easy to use, holds charge easily for over 2 weeks using intermittently about 1 hour/day may hold longer but I usually charge it every 2 weeks.

Innotek Boundary Kit for In-Ground Pet Fencing System, BD-25

Innotek Boundary Kit for In-Ground Pet Fencing System, BD-25We selected this product based on price and customer reviews. We are SO pleased. Have been using the product for nearly a year. It was easy to install, has been no problem regardless of weather and the dogs were easy to train. We didn't follow the training CD or the 2 week training protocol. We showed it to our dogs a couple of times and they picked it up very quickly. Fantastic product!

This is the perfect match for the Innotek containment units. Needed if your original kit doesn't have enough wire to complete your containment boundaries.

We bought this for our dogs to stay in our large back yard without a fence. They are older dogs, and were starting to wander into the neighbours' yard. The product worked okay, but must really be followed exactly. WE have about an acre of land, and it is a complete pain in the ass to bury the wire. You have to dig up a small trench all around the area you'd like to set up as the boundary. Then, you end the wire at a power source. We ran ours in through a basement window. We tried to take a short cut with the training aspects by leaving the flags up and hoping the dogs got the idea that if you get close enough to the flags, you get zapped. They didnt. My one poor dog thought the grass was getting him. He peed off the deck for a week! We ended up waiting a while so things could go back to normal, and then we'd train them properly. My boyfriend ended up hitting the window wire accidently with the weed whacker, and we never got around to digging up the wire to splice it and repair it.

The actual product worked well and gives all the information one needs to set up their yard and dogs properly. It just takes a lot of work, and we were obviously too lazy.

We have two 20 pound dogs on an acre of very wooded land. I ran the perimeter wire around the whole lot and just laid it on the ground and used landscape staples to hold it in place. They loved to roam the neighborhood, but we didn't want a physical fence, so reluctantly I ordered this after reading reviews and talking to a friend who has it. I didn't want them to get zapped, but I also knew it wasn't safe for them to be running around the neighborhood and I wanted them to be able to enjoy the whole yard.

The other thing I don't like, is there's a boundary "zone". Keep that in mind when setting up the system. The zone is about 4-12 feet wide depending on the setting, so you can really lose some space that they are able to explore, especially on the sides of the house or if you have a partial fence you have to attach the wire to.

For two weeks, I trained them on the perimeter using the flags, etc. One of them was good, the other one (the "dumb one", lol) didn't seem to be getting it. I decided they were ready to learn the hard way. The smart one got zapped 3xone in each of the escape areas. The dumb one got zapped probably 10 times. He knows all the boundary areas now, but it took a while. I felt so bad for him. After I knew they were trained, I no longer put the collars on themwe've had it for 6 months and they only wore the collars the first month. I've had the smart one break out once, but the dumb one won't go near the boundaries. When either of them get zapped, they scream and jump, so I KNOW it hurts, and I don't like it.

All in all, it does work. But I wish I had purchased a system that had a vibration only setting instead of a shock. I have since purhased a remote control system for them because they were harrassing some wildlife, and it has a vibration setting and it is just as effective but without the screaming or pain. I know there are systems out there that have the vibrate, so if you have small or sensitive dogs, I would suggest you go for that instead.

We bought this fence for our black lab and installed it ourselves when she was about 9 months old. We have a half acre total but just fenced the back yard. It was easy to install ourselves. She learned very quickly (she's smart) so training was easy. It was well worth the money. We got estimates on a chain link fence and I think this was the way to go. The collar hardly ever needs to be charged and gives you plenty of warning by beeping orange instead of green. Yes, she has run through the fence. But I think every time it was my fault. I'm too nice sometimes and don't make the collar tight enough. Sometimes she gets a little shaggy and I have to trim her fur where the collar makes contact. If I fix those problems it works well and she will stay in the yard no matter what's in the woods behind our house...deer, cat, skunk...

One thing I would've done differently is put the control box somewhere else out of sight. Right now it's in the front foyer, I wish I had put it in the den off to the side of the front door. It is a bit of an eyesore.

Steel Coated Dog Collar in Corona Lime

Platinum Pets 22-Inch by 4mm Steel Coated Dog Collar, Corona LimeColoring is great. There was a little bit of damage on the ring you would attach a collar to (so i reduced it one star) but it does not affect the product nor does it touch the dog (so no harm). Color is a great bright green, just what i was hoping for. Nice pop of color on a dark dog. Was worried the lime green would look girly on my giant dog, but it looks awesome.

Bought 2 of these in 2 different colors for my Boxers. Love the color but wish the links came smaller. Very attractive. but very heavy.

I initially ordered this one size smaller and the quality was great. Reordered 1 size larger and a total of 5 of this type in different sizes and colors. Paint quality was not great. On 3 of them the paint must not have dried before they put it in the plastic hangers, as those three had very sharp paint edges sticking up. The colors are all beautiful (I ordered electric blue, candy apple red, bubble gum pink, purple, and lime green.) What a shame there isn't better quality control on this product. Incidently, as the length goes up; the the links are larger and much heavier. The 20 inch collar I bought is actually quite heavy a little too heavy, I think, for the gentler breeds

Innotek Spray Commander Remote Training System

Innotek Spray Commander Remote Training SystemThis was a product made by Premier which does the great "Gentle Leader." It is now Multivet--a Quebec company.

I paid $158 at a local pet store. Was very helpful...until it broke 5 days later. Exchanged at store, but they said further problems take it up with the company. Two weeks later the second one died.

Multivet has not responded to my email. I mailed in the warranty and it was returned as no such address. Tried registering online, webpage "submit" button does not work. Went to troubleshooting page and learned they haven't put it up yet.

Warranty is only for 30 days. Product is not waterproof. On/Off switch is cheesy plastic and I suspect much of the problem.

I am now looking at electronic trainer collars that are waterproof, have a better warranty, also contain a tone response. Looking at Innotek Ultrasmart IUT 1000, which is actually cheaper if you shop carefully. Has 1/2 mile (at best--clear straight line) versus 300 yards Spray commander

We have a new Standard Poodle puppy, "Belle". She will be trained a number of activities including obedience, flyball, and scent Tracking. For the formal training we will be using the positive reinforcement of the Spray Commander #1, Button "Beep" or a Clicker. But, for issues of what I consider 'pack transgression' or safety issues we have/will be using the remote spritz from the Spray Commander, buttons #2 and #3 on the remote.

We ordered the Multivet Spray Commander in Mid December, timed to arrive when our pup was 11 weeks old and our Grandchildren were due to arrive for the XMAS holidays. I was very concerned with Belle's obsessive nipping and biting of pants legs and shoes. This habit was very annoying and dangerous for her to be underfoot. Trying to correct this behavior with the traditional `no', using positive reinforcement to distract her to another behavior, or removing her from the scene were generally ineffective or, at best, proceeding so slowly nothing would be accomplished by the time the grandkids arrived. We didn't want to have to segregate the new puppy from the kids so I was counting on the Spray Commander for help (and wasn't disappointed!).

Two spritz's with the scentless spray was all it took to cure the problem.

This product is GREAT. It is instant, can be operated remotely, the correction is not associated in the dog's mind with the human owner. It is just like nature teaches a young dog what works and what doesn't. Biting a thorn bush gives an instant lesson. Biting my grandchild's pant leg gave a similar, instant, lesson.

None of the correction was associated with me.

What is very important to me, is the ability to apply correction at the exact time of the infraction means the behavior is corrected with an absolute minimum time and fuss; minimizing strain to all of us (and especially the puppy). IMHO it is much more `positive' than so called positive correction techniques with the clicker (or spray commander beeper) that take much longer to achieve. Having said that, positive clicker or commander beeper training is the way to go for formal obedience training.

Before buying the product I reviewed the posts. There were some concerning posts about poor customer service. As a test, this morning I called the 1 800 303 0244 service line and immediately was able to speak to a customer service person. Admittedly this was a contract service and not the company itself, but it does indicate to me that the company is working on resolving a poor image. Also, I signed up to their forum . Also see for info. I'd say that the general forum trend is very positive.

The product involves electronics and spraying liquids under some pressure. Given the electro-mechanical-hydraulic nature of the product, I assume their will be some problems down stream. There is just more to go wrong than with an all electronic product. From my experiences with customer support and the web so far I assume they will be handled professionally.

I had a small issue with the remote. It has 3 buttons. #1 is for the positive 'beep', #2 is standard spray, and # 3 is major spray. The 3 buttons are all the same size and degree of recess. I was concerned with the possibility of accidentally pushing the wrong button, and once, it false triggered when I picked up something that bumped against the remote in my pocket.

I have corrected that by velcro'ing thin pieces of plastic over the #2 and # 3 button to make them harder to trigger. (I've also forwarded a suggestion to Multivet).

As another nit, I thought the instructional CD was pretty lame more advertising than good dog training instruction.

Nevertheless, most users will have dog training books that adequately explain how to use positive (beep or clicker and treat) or Negative (spray) reinforcement. Note it is an instruction `CD' not a `DVD'.

I plan to use the spritzer function of spray commander for controlling territorial access (prevent kitchen access or fence jumping), correcting food stealing from the coffee table (done remotely with a web cam to monitor the potential scene of the crime), and snake/car proofing. I will NOT use the negative spray for formal training relying instead on positive 'beep' or click and then treat training.

All in all, a good product. I'm not giving a 5 because of the remote and CD issues. Note: when talking with the customer support person, she said they were working on improvements. I hope they can come up with a remote that is tailored specifically for this function rather than just duplicating a 3 door, garage door opener remote. But,,,, none of my objections prevent successful use of the product they are 2nd/3rd generation improvement issues.

I have a 7 month old beagle that loves to chew and not come when called. Does the remote collar ever work great!! He's had it on for three days and now when we say no to him he knows we mean business. No-He's not perfect but this is the best training system I've purchased. I've bought more books than I care to say with an investment way over the price of this collar. I just wish I would have had it for house training. It's also keeping him from running in the road and the ally in our back yard. Cooper stops right in his tracks. We also had problems with him jumping on my young grandchildren and knocking them down. It didn't happen yesterday when they were here. Awesome product! I gave it 4 stars as it's not waterproof so if it's raining he will be on his leash.

Having used a spray collar belonging to my friend's dog which only had levels of spray, the Commander having the 'beep' feature is proving it to be superior as you can get the dog not to view the collar as something to be afraid of. The only real problem noticed so far is that it is not waterproof and therefore has to be removed prior to deep paddling or swimming easy to forget! Terrific value compared to what it sells for in the UK especially with the weak dollar. Would recommend.

Update July 2008: This product is experiencing serious quality control issue. I still recommend it as there is no other equal product. However be prepared for it to fail... we now keep two to have a back up and hound the manufacture to get it's act together... go back to making it in Canada something, anything to once again return this product to it's former reliability. Our original unit only failed two years ago after years of use following getting caught (with the dog) in a rip tide. The dog was so well trained with this collar that, though terrified, he swam parallel to the shore on command instead of fighting the tide and is snoozing beside me today. We keep those two collar(s) on hand to loan out and for our dog to wear up-side-down at dog parks. Upside down it does wonders to get aggressive dogs at the dog park to mind their manners!

original review text: This collar is amazing. We occasionally foster/rehab dogs who have behavior "issues". The Premier version of this product is one of our "secrete weapons". It's truly a god send and Veeeerrry durable. In the past 18 months we have used one collar to extinguish unwanted behaviors in two 70+ lb rough and tumble out of control adult dogs, a yappy collie-? mix puppy, my home schooled standard poodle service dog (76 lb) and the neighbor's terrier. It has been chewed, stepped and drooled on, caked in mud, butted by a goat, kicked about and forgotten on the floor of the car in both scorching heat and freezing cold. With a little maintenance... fresh batteries... clearing the mud from the nozzles and microphone... It still works fine.

Unlike electric collars, willful and mellow dogs alike just get distracted and shut up instead of getting ticked and barking more. We showed it to the local animal control police (they dropped by to scan a stray for an id chip). They are delighted with its performance and are telling folks they serve barking dog complaint situations about it. I strongly encourage you to buy this effective, reliable and humane product if you need your dog to be quite or to redirect other unwanted behavior.

Leather Lead in Black

Hamilton 1/2' x 6' Black Leather Training Dog LeadI ordered this leash due to positive feedback about the item. Unfortunately the leather is only finished on one side which makes the other side feel like sandpaper. The inside of the handle also isn't finished making this uncomfortable to hold. When I needed to temporarily shorten up the lead by sliding it through my other hand it was very uncomfortable. I also doubt the longevity of this product due to being only finished on one side. It would more easily soak up moisture.

If you wear gloves or don't mind a rough feeling leash then this will work for you. It is very thick leather with what appears to be a sturdy clasp.

I returned this item after our first walk today.

** Not sure if the other reviewer got the same leash I did because this is not soft in any sense of the word. **

Hamiliton is one of the few places you can still get really good leather leads. One of the last places that you can get stitched and back braided leads. Their price is very reasonable for a lead that should last you 15 to 20 years. We work with big high drive dogs and a good leather lead without rivets is a must.

Buy Leather Lead in Black Now

I was looking forward to receiving and using this leash, as I remember Hamilton products as being pretty good. I was disappointed. It's supposed to be black, and instead is sort of a mottled greenish black. I tried lightly oiling the leather, thinking that would help, but it didn't. Also, one section of the leather is thinner and stretchier than the rest. Not only does it look bad, it will not stand up to a dog that pulls, as mine does. The snap is the right color and weight, and looks good.

I would return the item, but probably can't, due to having tried oiling it to even up the color and condition it...not to mention the hassle. I will probably just donate it to the local animal shelter.
