Doggles Over the Head Dog Harness

I've been using this harness for over a month now for my 80 lb. male doberman and it works very well. I like it better than the "no pull" harness I got for my female dobe. By attaching a leash to the top (instead of the front like the no pull harness) there is far less sway in the leash while walking. My dog appears very comfortable in it and it is easy to get on and off.

The only complaint I would have is that the front part that is nearest the dog's head it NOT adjustable. It would make a better fit if this opening could be adjusted. The back part is adjustable, however.

UPDATE: After now having two of these harnesses for a few months, I have to update my review. One is performing well as my initial review indicated. However, the other is starting to fall apart. It is ripping apart where the neck loop meets the backbone strap (where the Mutt Gear logo is). My female dobe is using this one and she pulls a lot so that might be part of the reason. Still, I think it should last longer than it has.

Harnesses are very difficult to buy. Michiko (the dog) seems to finds most harnesses uncomfortable and runs when ever she sees them. I have tried numerous and I think she finds there is to much pressure on her chest. I saw this one and decided to give it a try. She likes it very much. Since the area over the chest on this harness is much larger, the pressure caused by pulling is distributed more evenly. She sits very calmly when putting it on and gets very excited when she sees it because she knows its walk time. Its a snap to put it on and take off. I have a Shiba Inu and the small size fits her perfectly and she looks absolutely adorable it in.

I really like this harness as an alternative to the premier easy-walk. I much prefer the back leash loop and my dog walks straight, as opposed to kind-of-sideways with the easy walk. The only thing is that the neck doesn't adjust. Our puggle is pretty good walking, but when he sees another dog he goes for it, and sometimes he chokes a little if he pulls. I still really like, and use, this harness and its VERY well made. Much better than the mesh/sport ones you see everywhere! Our 30 lb. pug/beagle has a car crate, but this would work well as a dog car harness if you wanted to use it for that. Its comfy enough for him to keep on around the house if we are in and out all day, unlike other harnesses we've tried. Its also reflective which is great at night, and the brown color is cute!

I sent the small back to exchange for an x-small. I have a more petite jack russell, she weighs about 11 lbs. It is built really well, and looks like it will last a long time. Love the colors!

If my dog were reviewing this harness, he'd rate it 5 stars. It fit him loosely so he could slip out, and the leash hook was made out of some sort of pewter metal and broke after a few months. My dog is only 30 pounds and I was shocked when it didn't hold after he ran for a squirrel. The little bone shaped adjuster would slip a lot as well. I think this product has some major design and material problems. For the owners out there, I'd steer clear of this harness.

This was the second collar we purchased. To say this was a life save is an understatement. Our 5 year old black lab was on the verge of having to be rehomed due to her "alpha" mentality with myself and my two children. We've had this product for about a year, and it worked like a charm and quickly to reduce our 30-pound puggle's crazy outside barking at neighbors and dogs as they walk by our house. The beep function is similar to the beep correction/border of our dog fence, so we didn't have to use the electric stimulation very much at all (which is again similar to the correction level of our dog fence). The different correction levels and remote are a huge advantage of this product over static bark collars. You can also use this as a substitute dog fence if you take your dog off your property (we have a few local dog parks we go to). Make sure you turn it off when the dog's in the house, as it goes through a set of batteries pretty quickly (although we were admittedly using cheap ones from the dollar rack of our local hardware store). We then bought a large supply of name brand batteries here on Amazon, because it's immensely cheaper than picking them up at local retailers. I'd buy another one if the one we have breaks for some reason.

I previously had the SportDog SD-105 for which the receiver died after a few years of use. Locally only PetSafe brand collars were available. Since both SportDog and PetSafe are owned by the same parent company I figured it'd be the same, but I was mistaken. The PetSafe one had metal clips inside the remote that were supposed to form as metal contacts to the batteries to provide power, but they are very flimsy. As a result from time to time your remote will completely lose power and have to be reseated or just wait for it to come back on later. That's all the time it would take for my dog to get run over by a car. So I'm definitely returning this. Aside from that it works good... when it works.

New foster girl (8 years old) arrived from the rescue and our resident male (who was a foster himself only 4 years ago) wasn't too pleased. Enough so that I went looking for good quality muzzles because I knew for our Great Pyrenees we wouldn't be able to run down to the local pet store and pick something up that would fit. I could not believe that an Amazon search found these and were Prime eligible. I took measurements (you really need a paper tape measure which I have or use a piece of string and a ruler) and made sure the muzzles would fit our Pyrs and placed the order.

The quality of the muzzles is top notch. The metal cage is sturdy. The leather straps are thick and easy to strap on the dogs. I did notice that I had to be sure that the straps were tight enough (top and bottom) so I could only get my finger underneath. Too loose and our male figured out how to pull it off. So I tightened that up and voila. Muzzles the two could not take off. I immediately took the two for a walk. What would have been a snarling match ended up being a delightful walk. The dogs were so curious about the muzzles and trying to figure out how to take them off that they didn't pay much attention to each other.

Back home, with the muzzles still on, they were both able to use their water bowls without removing the muzzles. A big plus since I also wanted them to spend some together time on the same side of the pet gate. Again, the muzzles were distracting enough that the were able to be in the same room together. Something that would have been a snarling match a day earlier.

Next was getting them in the back of the SUV. Again, what would have been a snarling match was a delightful, quiet drive around the neighborhood.

The result is that after only a couple of training sessions with the muzzles on was all that was needed. In literally two days I went from having one unhappy male to two dogs that could walk together, side by side, and ride in the back of the SUV lying next to each other with nary a peep! Simply unbelievable how effective muzzle training was. There is hope if you have two dogs that aren't getting along or one dog that is a bit aggressive with other dogs.

Very impressed with this product. We have had to have a professional dog trainer work with our Great Pyrenees and he was impressed about the quality and the fit. Sizing guidelines were perfect.

It wasn't easy for me to accept that there were times when I needed to muzzle my spirited female Siberian Husky. As an alpha female, and a rescue, she has never been very dog friendly, and from time to time I considered a muzzle for those dog park occasions when she must mingle. This particular muzzle meets the criteria that I set: it is open to allow drinking and panting (dogs don't sweat, so they pant to reduce excess heat), it fits snug and firm but not too tight, well constructed straps, fastens easily. My 16 month old 110 lb. German Shepherd has destroyed countless things in and around my house. Even when put in a room with nothing in it, he saw fit to start chewing walls. In 1 in 20 accidents maybe she gets some pee on these pee pads, but that's clearly just a coincidence because I'm putting the pads where she usually goes. I don't know what all this business is about a special scent that encourages dogs to use the pee pads, I wouldn't buy the hype. Now I have a package of very expensive paper towels.

Maybe I got a bad batch. The other reviewer gave these Clean N Tiday puppy pads a 5-star review. I think they are awful. I bought them because I have a sick kitty who no longer consistently uses the litter box. I picked up one of the pads right after she used it and her urine had soaked through. If you want a pad that doesn't leak, this isn't it. I gave it one star because "no stars" isn't an option.

Yes, this is light in weight, but from experience we know that this is actually sturdier than a 2-layer Grreat Choice nylon leash from Petsmart. The padded handle is a huge asset to the handler, as the other's handle can cut your skin when the dog jerks. I just need to hold on to my receipt, so if my Portuguese Water Dog puppy is left alone with the leash on, and eventually chews through it, Lupine will replace it.

Very well made reasonably priced light-weight leash. Based on this leash purchase I will defintely consider buying other dog products manufactured by Lupine. Particularly like that Lupine products are manufactured in the United States.

This is an sturdy everyday sort of lead / leash. The one thing I would recommend you think about before purchasing it is the style of the clasp. This matters because clearly different clasps are better suited for certain types on collars, harnesses, halties, head leaders etc.. Really give some thought to what kind of walking device you use with your dog. For example If you have your dog wearing a harness that clips with two rings at the top of his / her back this lead is tricky to get on and off. The opening is limited by the design of the clasp opening in. It is best suited for a single ring collar or something similar. I have one and do use it , but I have discovered for me a new dog owner that things like the clasp really matter. I have learned through trial and error that I prefer a different style clasp on my leashes and leads. The construction of the Lupine is great. It does not get knotted due to the flat design, I just wish it has a different type of clasp. I know there are names for the different types of clasps, I am spacing all of them at the momentjust trust me this style whatever it is named, is one of the most difficult to get on and off due to a limited amount of space created once you press on the clasp to open it , to take it off, sometimes the ring of the collar it almost too big to fit through the narrow opening created only when taking the leash off because clearly the collar ring is also in that space.

Leash is a good deal for what you get--light & strong (but sure, if you let your dog gnaw on it long enough, it'll tear eventually).

I found the padded handle's stitching to be a bit rough on the hand. One could argue this is an intentional trait to make a firmer, non-slip grip. But I wish it had a softer feel, like neoprene or the same nylon as the rest of the leash. Perhaps the handle will soften up over time after some washings.

The padding also makes the handle more rigid. Again, desirable for some, but for me, I sometimes like to wrap the handle around my hand a couple times to shorten the length, and this rigidness makes it more difficult to do.

The "reverse-gate" metal snap is well made & easy to open & close. You push in to open, like a carabiner, instead of pulling back the little nub like most leashes--just takes a little getting used to. I found that dirt & debris (e.g. sand from the beach) tend to clog the mechanism of the typical snaps with the retractable pin. But I think this reverse-gate snap will be more resistant to that problem.

Overall, a good value w/some caveats depending on your preference.

I cut 9" sticks in half with a Dremmel, so they last longer. If you're going to cut them, though, be sure to do it outside. I cut one with a Dremmel cutter in the house and it was the worst.stench.ever. Also, don't take them outside in warm weather. They attract flies like crazy!

This "soft-choke" collar works well if your dog is already trained to walk on a leash. It works like a Chinese finger-cuff in that It tightens as the dog pulls against the leash, but it doesn't get so tight that it actually chokes the dog. It merely restrains the dog.( I would not recommend that it be used to train a dog.) What I use it for is when I take the dog with me on bike rides to run along the side of me. With a standard collar, the dog had on occasion backed out of his collar when he had been spooked by another dog, animal, runner or biker. With the Martingale collar he no longer backs out of the collar, thus avoiding the possibility of running into traffic. Between myself, my wife, son & daughter-in-law, we have 4 dogs and 4 of the Martingale collars and we all use them on bike rides.

TIP: If you attempt to have your dog run along with you on bike rides, switch the brake line cables on your handle bars so that the left brake lever controls your rear brake as you will be holding the leash in your right hand to keep the dog to the right of you. This will keep you from going over the handle bars as both you and the dog learn to ride/run together.

We ordered this in advance of our puppy arriving and we are so glad we did. This item is a great solution when you want to allow your puppy time out of the crate but need to supervise him/her (and believe me you do not want him/her loose in your house). The vertical bars prevents our puppy from climbing. It's heavy duty and can handle any chewing that your puppy may try to do on it. We alternate time in the ex-pen with time in the crate to mix things up. We also have cats so this gives them time to see each other and get used to each other presence.

This is an excellent quality, sturdy gate. The various segments can be taken apart and reassembled, although this is not super-easy (I think the intent was for it to be easy, but the release springs are difficult to depress; I finally figured it out with teh help of an awl.) For example, if you only want it to be 5 segments long, you can remove one. Similarly, you can move the door so it is either one on of the ends, or anywhere in the middle.

If you plan to have this as a long gate, without affixing it to a wall, you will need to allow for some bending, i.e., you can't use it in a straight line or it will easily topple over. Also, opening the door requires a bit of lifting on the door. When the gate is not affixed, this lifting often moves the gate. I wish it could open and close without requiring so much lifting that it moves the entire unit.

At first I was a bit turned off by the price of this harness but I have decided it was well worth it. I followed the recommendations of the seller in ordering a large for a near 70 pound Staffordshire Terrier. Way too loose! The belly strap adjusted quite well, but the front chest strap could not be adjusted to fit. Thus, I had to return the harness and re-order another one to two week wait. Amazon's return policy and procedure is the best in the industry, but vendors using Amazon often leave a lot of information on product to conjecture. This is a gift that keeps giving! The battery does not last very long, so you need to continually buy more. It is ridiculous. Also, the transmitter is too heavy for a small dog's neck and moves around too much. This caused my dog to develop chafed skin and a rash after wearing it only a short while. Since this item is made for small dogs, this should have been taken into consideration before production. It may not be a problem with a dog who has a dense coat. My dog is a mini hot dog, with a thin/fine coat, so I cannot speak about the effect on other breeds. Finally, the settings are not consistent. I had to replace the first item I bought and the settings on the second were not the same. hey should all be calibrated the same when manufactured.

The old saying "you get what you pay for" describes my experience with this product. They are flimsy and are usless as far as using them for our dogs. They do not stay flat and ball up causing the dogs to pee on the plastic part and the floor. I have tried using 2 at a time, putting them in corners nothing works. I plan on ordering the more expensive ones and throwing these out as I cannot use them for Housebreaking purposes.

This is the second time we ordered and we love it! It's a bit expensive, but it doesnt leak. Since the wee wee pads are big and long, it prevents our dog from peeing outside the pad and if he only pees on one side of it, we just fold it in half and wait for our dog to pee on the other half before throwing it out. Overall it's a good product!

Our dog is a 70lb pitbull and she hits the "target" perfectly on these bigger pads. Excellent product!! I've waiting for something this good and I've finally found it!

Easy Walk Harness - Medium/Large, Green Tweener

I initially bought this product at a pet supply store in a large (the ones I've been to only carry S, M, and L.) Although I like the way my dog reacted to it, the large was way too big so I took it back and tried the medium but that was too tight. The packaging showed that there were in-between sizes so I came here to look and bought this. Although in my experience with this product it's not the cure all for the dog that pulls and lunges (my dog is young and still tries, but not as successfully as before) it helps substantially to control the dog without hurting it and with less effort on the human's part. It has made walking the dog less frustrating and more pleasant.

The only thing that I don't like is that fitting the strap across the chest can be challenging. My dog does not have that broad of a chest. There is sliding metal hardware to adjust the harness, but it leaves something to be desired since after a while it doesn't stay in place and it will need to be done again. This is more of a problem on the chest than it is adjusting around the girth. Premier needs to work on coming up with a better fit for a variety of dog builds. Like humans, some dogs are more wide around and have a smaller chest and vice versa.

Great product. works as described. Just make sure it is adjusted as per instructions. A must buy for dog owners

My dog is young and pulls a lot when walking with a regular harness, especially when he sees a squirrel or a deer. I just got this harness and went on my first walk with him and he stayed by my side or slightly ahead the entire time! He didn't pull once! I am so happy at how pleasant the walk was. My only concern about it is that it fits just a little weird. The bottom part has a clip that sits right behind his front "elbow" and I was concerned it my rub and be uncomfortable. He walks a little strange, but it doesn't seem to bother him, so it may just be me being a worried mom. Overall, I would recommend this product if your dog pulls at all on walks!!!!

We have two 80 lb young labs who could pull us down the street in a heartbeat. Harnesses that have the rings mounted between the dog's shoulders just encourage pulling This harness works as advertised. There's just no incentive to pull because it just doesn't have the desired effect. We view this as safety equipment for US more than the dogs!

My dog has short legs and a wide muscular body. This harness is supposed to fit dogs like that, but it rubs her legs in the front. I tried to adjust it, but can't seem to get it right. Maybe it's the adjustment, or maybe it is just not sized right. Not sure, but I can't use it.

I am very happy with the product.

I have a Lab Puppy, He is very naughty and he likes to destroy my furniture and dig holes at backyard.

I was looking for many different brand remote training collar for him but I found out some training collars do not even have the manufacturer information on the product package and even the manual is not easy to understand. I have return few other brand collars until I find this one.

This one is good. The manufacturer is in US and I call them for help, they were very nice to talk with.

There is only thing that there is no switch on this product and the Transmitter eats the battery, but I am OK with that as the battery is not that expensive.

It worked great for two weeks then the buttons started to not work. We were not rough with it so I have not idea why.

This collar works great, I tried it on my own neck and it's not a painful shock, it's just a tightening of the muscles to get the dogs attention.

However, it didn't work right out of the box. It took me a couple days to get it working, there's a manual reset button inside the reciever unit that I had to find (it's not mentioned in the instructions) in order for it to get connected to the clicker. After I found this button it connected instantly and worked like a charm for about a week.

After about a week of use (and most probably due to my taking it apart when it wouldn't work out of the box) the pin in the coaxial antennae connection snapped off and so the antennae doesn't work. I tried replacing it with different home-made antennae made from copper wire, steel tie wire etc, but couldn't get it working again. Until I find another coaxial antennae, the clicker cannot send signal to the collar.

You get what you pay for, it works great when it works, but this is definitely a project buy.

I used this on my 8 month old great dane. I bought it because the dog kept running off. maximum shock made her twitch her head then she kept doing what she was doing. other shocks she couldn't feel. the shock worked when I touched it. the vibrator seemed to get her attention but it would kill the batteries in 3 days. eventully the dog found the remote and chewed it up. I built a fence since and now she jumps it. will install electric fence for cattle now.
