Doggles Over the Head Dog Harness

I've been using this harness for over a month now for my 80 lb. male doberman and it works very well. I like it better than the "no pull" harness I got for my female dobe. By attaching a leash to the top (instead of the front like the no pull harness) there is far less sway in the leash while walking. My dog appears very comfortable in it and it is easy to get on and off.

The only complaint I would have is that the front part that is nearest the dog's head it NOT adjustable. It would make a better fit if this opening could be adjusted. The back part is adjustable, however.

UPDATE: After now having two of these harnesses for a few months, I have to update my review. One is performing well as my initial review indicated. However, the other is starting to fall apart. It is ripping apart where the neck loop meets the backbone strap (where the Mutt Gear logo is). My female dobe is using this one and she pulls a lot so that might be part of the reason. Still, I think it should last longer than it has.

Harnesses are very difficult to buy. Michiko (the dog) seems to finds most harnesses uncomfortable and runs when ever she sees them. I have tried numerous and I think she finds there is to much pressure on her chest. I saw this one and decided to give it a try. She likes it very much. Since the area over the chest on this harness is much larger, the pressure caused by pulling is distributed more evenly. She sits very calmly when putting it on and gets very excited when she sees it because she knows its walk time. Its a snap to put it on and take off. I have a Shiba Inu and the small size fits her perfectly and she looks absolutely adorable it in.

I really like this harness as an alternative to the premier easy-walk. I much prefer the back leash loop and my dog walks straight, as opposed to kind-of-sideways with the easy walk. The only thing is that the neck doesn't adjust. Our puggle is pretty good walking, but when he sees another dog he goes for it, and sometimes he chokes a little if he pulls. I still really like, and use, this harness and its VERY well made. Much better than the mesh/sport ones you see everywhere! Our 30 lb. pug/beagle has a car crate, but this would work well as a dog car harness if you wanted to use it for that. Its comfy enough for him to keep on around the house if we are in and out all day, unlike other harnesses we've tried. Its also reflective which is great at night, and the brown color is cute!

I sent the small back to exchange for an x-small. I have a more petite jack russell, she weighs about 11 lbs. It is built really well, and looks like it will last a long time. Love the colors!

If my dog were reviewing this harness, he'd rate it 5 stars. It fit him loosely so he could slip out, and the leash hook was made out of some sort of pewter metal and broke after a few months. My dog is only 30 pounds and I was shocked when it didn't hold after he ran for a squirrel. The little bone shaped adjuster would slip a lot as well. I think this product has some major design and material problems. For the owners out there, I'd steer clear of this harness.

The bad news: I've been happy with other Simple Solutions products before, so I bought the large size for our 46 pound mix breed dog. She's 14 and has bladder/urethra cancer. I can't get these diapers to stay on our dog. They seem like they will stay on when you first put them on, but they look kind of "low rise" to me. For our size dog, they don't go all the way up to the tapered part of her waist. Then, they either come unattached on the sides or just slide off the back of the dog. The only time we use the diapers is at night, and they always come off when she moves around in her sleep which you can imagine isn't the best of help for our situation.

The good news: I emailed Simple Solutions about the problem, and they got back to me almost immediately and it wasn't even a "form" letter! They thanked me for my input and told me they always welcome fresh ideas regarding their products. They said they would forward my suggestions (for a longer waist to tail measurement) on to their marketing department. They also said I could return the unused product for a full refund. So I must say, even though I was displeased with this particular product, their customer service was DEFINITELY a plus!!

I have a 13 year old Standard Poodle with incontinence issues despite hormone pills. Simple Solution is the best product on the market. The absorbency is high and there is no odor. The urine is absorbed away from the skin and fur. Excellent product.

I've been using these diapers for our older dog who do to medications that she is taking is incontintent. I had the same problem as expressed by other reviews that the space between the hole for the tail and the waist is tooo short. I modify the diaper by expanding the hole downward to allow the diaper to move up over our dog's 'waist'. Our dog is a small dog around 30 lbs -a cocker -beagle mix and I use the large size diapers for a good fit. I continue to use this brand and modify them as they are the only option that I like.

We use these diapers for our slightly incontinent older female Labrador Retriever and they work OK. I say "OK" because every once and a while we get up in the morning and her diaper is no longer on her. Not sure how she gets them off but she does, so at night we double bag her and that seems to work well. The price on Amazon is about half of what we paid at a local big box pet supply store.

These diapers work well for our occasionally incontinent dog. Reusable closure is especially important to us as she sometimes does go out and hasn't soiled her diaper, which we keep on her at all times inside the house. The closure does need work, though. Sometimes they re-seal and hold well, but at least 1/3 of the time the tab pulls off the diaper or doesn't hold. Duct tape helps us get more mileage out of a diaper when a tab fails.

I've tried many lighted collars and attachments for my dogs and this is by far the best one. The light goes around the entire collar unilke many other "lighted attachments" and the light doesn't go out when the dogs are playing or running around (again, unlike other collars). This is perfect if you need a collar to be able to see your dog in the dark. My dog loves to run along the woodline and I just couldn't seem him in the early morning or late evening hours. I walk my medium-sized, black with gray spots, dog off-leash in Prospect Park every morning at 6 am. Now and for the next few months, that means it's pitch dark outside and as soon as she gets about 20 feet away from me, she just blends into the dark. I've tried those little dangly lights and they never last long with how hard she plays. A friend had one of these 'Nite Dawg' collars on his lab and I could see them from 150 yards off, so I thought I'd give it a try. Works like a charm I can see her as she runs around and I'm much less worried about losing sight of her. One note my dog has fairly long hair, so the collar is not as effective as it is on a lab because her hair covers it up partway. She has to be at the right angle for me to see it. But she runs around enough that I don't really have any trouble finding her. It also makes us more visible when I walk her through the neighborhood at night. I've had it about a month and used it every day. So far no problems.

This product is made in China. It is distributed in the USA, but it is made in China. It took a lot of digging and calling to discover that because they do not want you to know that. It is a good product, but the risk associated with giving your dog chicken from China after two recalls in the last two years is not worth it. In the future, if a product does not say, "MADE IN THE USA" on the packaging, there is probably a reason.

Our dog Callie loves these bones and she's VERY picky about flavours(only chicken). It's nice to give her something to "chew" on for awhile. They last a long time and are not smelly or greasy. The price is reasonable and come in quantity options.

My dog absolutely loves these bones. I love the fact they do not contain rawhide. They contain chicken, sweet potatoes, carrots and peas. They take quite a while for him to finish, are not messy and are digestible without me having to worry about sharp edges hurting him internally. I have been ordering this product for quite some time because my dog loves them. They are easy on his stomach and they do not leave a mess when he chews them.

However, when I placed my last order for them, Amazon never notified me that they were sold out. I waited for days for my order that was supposed to be shipped in two days and when I logged on to find out what was happening, I found out it was never shipped with no explanation. Lanyard - 24"

Love it. Good quality leather lanyard. Nice an long (hangs just above the belt), the way I needed it. Size of the leather rope is perfect as I was able to transfer my work ID over to it with no problems.

My son gets the cheap nylon ones for free at work but they don't last. I was hoping this one, since it is leather and braided would last at least the year for him? I will update this review as time goes by. It was very nicely made for the price.

We were initially very surprised by the results. They were not at all what we thought or what we told the company when we submitted the samples. We sent the samples in with a note stating that our rescue dog was half poodle but asking to know what the other half was. I even bought the designer dog kit because we were so sure she was a poodle mix. I would have bet $100 that the oher half was going to be cocker spaniel. However the results showed no poodle at all, but rather 50% bichon plus 25% Weimaraner. Whoa! After processing the total shock for a day or two, it did sink in. We watched our dog with the idea of a pointer/hunter/tracker in mind and suddenly some of the strange little behaviors of our dog made sense (digging out and tracking small rodents, pointing at birds, easily directed to run in different directions with hand gestures and voice), as well as her occasional stubbornness and stamina and running ability. We looked at photos of bichons and her face is all bichon. Anyway we have concluded that it is accurate. I have to give Wisdom credit for figuring it out despite our having sent in the samples labeled as poodle. I did call the company to speak with a scientist and had a nice conversation with her. They were very open about their methods (they test SNP profiles compared to a databank generated from AKC bloodlines) and they stated that 25% is a strong level of expression and they do believe that this level of inheritance is the level that manifests in behaviors and appearance. I conclude that this was well spent money. I feel like I do understand my dog's tendencies better and it dispelled the misinformation we had been given (and still are given all the time) by well meaning commentators including people who inform me that they are "breeders" (i.e. experts) who insist that she is part poodle. Also when people ask me what kind of dog she is, I now have a specific answer which does seem to delight others. I feel it was a reasonable price for the learning and enjoyment we got out of this interesting test.

The Designer Dog DNA kit revealed aspects of my dog's DNA that I would have never guessed, but afterward it all made sense. For example, my dog has a purple spotted tongue and several people have asked if he has some Chow in him., To my knowledge he has no Chow, but The Designer Dog kit revealed that his Mama was 1/2 Shar Pei which like Chows also have purple tongues and Shar Pei ancestry fits with other aspects of his physical appearance and character.

However, if dog toys annoy you...don't buy this!! This toy has brought hours of laughter to my family and hours of play for my dog. It squawks when it re-inflates so my dog treats it differently than his other toys. He talks to it and handles it gently. I have no idea why other than he thinks it is alive. It is a horrendous noise! But if you are looking for laughs and entertainment for your pet, this is it! Fairly durable. His last one lasted about 6 months of regular play.

I got a mountain rope collar for one of my dogs over 12 years ago, and the old boy is still wearing it, so when I was shopping for a choker type collar for my new dog, I looked for that type again. When I found these collars on Amazon, I thought I'd found exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, when I got the new collar and tried it out, there's a huge design flaw that makes it useless as a choker: those nice, beefy aluminum sleeves they use on the ends catch the ring that's supposed to slide freely, making it impossible to give a quick little correction with the collar. Short of yanking the dog's head halfway off, the ring stays trapped below the sleeve. It just won't work as it's supposed to.

I'm giving the collar 3 stars because it really is good, sturdy material, but the poor design just kills it's usability.
