Zuke's Power Bones, 6-Ounce
They have great natural ingredients, including Vitamins, Omegas and Flax. No artificial colors, flavors or by products. They do have chicken but are made in the USA. I was surprised how many dog chicken treats are made in China. My dog who is an extremely picky eater just loves these and its great that they are healthy and natural.

My dog loved these, but I thought it was a bit pricey for 6 oz...also these are soft chews and not 'bones', I thought they were like Milkbones. Nothing wrong with the product, maybe I should have paid more attention to the description.my dog loves the power bones, my sons dogs wouldnt obey me untill i strted feeding them power bones, now they are excited when they see me coming! These chunky peanut butter treats are one of our dog's favorites. I've never been disappointed in the Zuke's brand either. Highly recommend these.Sunday, June 8, 2014

Kakadu Pet Empire Extendible Nylon Dog Lead, Large, 1" x 4-6ft, Earth (Brown)
I love that it extends, and I LOVE the padded handle. We have a wolf-hybrid (around 90 lbs., but built like a mack truck), and he's (usually) very good on a leash, except when every other dog on the block decides to become a barking buffoon.
That's when the padding becomes a gift from heaven.
Given that this cost no more than a basic leash from Wal-Mart, and a lot less than a leash from PetSmart it is well worth it's price. My whole family loves is. We also bought a smaller one (for a pug yes we own a wolf and a pug) and my 4 year old had no problem walking the pug with this leash, being able to shorten the length to her size made it perfect.

My puppy had gotten old enough that his red nylon reflective Rogz, though still going strong, was starting to look juvenile on him. I don't believe in dressing up dogs (figures that I have one with a very short coat who might actually *need* a jacket!), and I think that a good collar is all the decoration a real dog will ever need. This fabulous collar is exactly what was called for. It is a thick, soft leather, and adds to his good looks without being distracting -like well-applied makeup or tasteful jewelry on a woman. The brass hardware is SOLID, as in: I seriously have not seen anything of this quality in a long time. I've heard of dogs breaking collars, and I saw it happen a couple of weeks ago, but I fully expect this collar to last the lifetime of my puppy and perhaps beyond -depending upon whether we choose to retire it or use it for a new dog.Puppy's neck was on the low side of a medium, so I ordered a medium to make sure he'd have enough room. There was too much loose leather left over when I tightened it properly, so I cut off the excess with a pair of sharp scissors; it doesn't look quite as nice as the original finished edge, but now that it's the right length you don't even see it.
We added a rivet-on brass nameplate, and we've found that plus the brass hardware on the collar is just the right amount of bling. Perfect.

StarMark Clicker Dog Training System
Simply place the clicker with the orange button facing down on or just before that fatty tissue part of your palm that the thumb extends out of. Then apply firm pressure to the back side of the clicker by folding your four fingers on top the clicker. Make the pressure just firm enough so that clicker sound holes are pressing against the fatty tissue of your palm, then when needed just apply a little more pressure with the four fingers on the back of the clicker to make it click. If you have the clicker positioned at the proper angle the lanyard hole will be inline with the middle of your wrist. Don't waste time with the cheap dog-bone clickers. This is reliable and you never find you're mashing the "wrong end" and failing to make the noise precisely when you need to. This was just the right clicker for me and my GSMD puppy when we were both learning marker/clicker training technique. That said, I finally switched to using my voice (I follow Ed Frawley's training advice and now YES! takes the place of click). Why? because with a leash, treats, and other gear there's one less thing to manage by hand, I never misplace my voice, and am always prepared to emit the behavior marker at the correct time! The switch from clicker to voice was no problem for either me or my dog, and there are still uses for these excellent clickers in training.

OK, I was anxious to get started so first I went to Petsmart to buy it in person. But they didn't have it, so I ended up buying one of those little bone ones. DON'T DO THAT! It broke within five minutes of using it.So I got online and ordered this one from Amazon. It's SOOOOOO much better. It's very loud, sturdy and works perfectly.
Don't waste your dogs time or your money on any other clicker. BUY THIS ONE ... in my humble opinion ;)

I did some reading on the clicker method of training and was so excited to begin with our 10 month old dachshund and 9 year old yellow headed Amazon that I ran out and bought one of those yellow dog bone ones at PetCo. It was a piece of junk; not loud enough to use outside when doing leash training and it could barely be heard over normal house hold conversations. So, I found this one on Amazon and in reading the reviews another person had the same problem with the dog bone ones. So I ordered it and just got it today and it is a wonderful clicker. Fits nicely into your hand, the button is easy to find and it makes a nice loud click that can be heard inside and out over normal conversations yet it is not so loud as to scare our somewhat skittish parrot.
I would recommend this highly.Yes, this does click. It's sturdy and others have said it is loud. Loud worked for me because I have 6 dogs and when 6 dogs start barking most clickers just won't do. However; One day, while fiddling with a Snapple cap, it clicked. My dogs reacted to the clicking sound just as they did to the clicker. The Snapple cap is less expensive, fits in your pocket, you get the benefit of the drink itself, if you lose the cap you have lost no money and as previously stated; it is just as effective as the clicker sold here. Save your money.

Simple Solution Puppy Training Pads, 100 Count
Buy Simple Solution Puppy Training Pads, 100 Count Now
I've used a lot of brands of wee wee pads, and this is my favorite brand. I recently tried Nature's Miracle because I couldn't get Simple Solutions at my local Petco. I placed the pad on the garage floor which is slightly sloped, my dog used it right in the middle just as she's supposed to. The urine flowed right off the pad and streamed down the floor (no, the pad was not upside down).I've never had this problem with Simple Solutions. The pads absorb, my dog can use them more than once, and they don't leak. They also seem to contain odor better than some other pads.
I'd have given it 5 stars, but I have one gripe. They changed the design of the pad a couple years ago, and since then, the urine spreads out more rather than being isolated to a small area. This means fewer uses per pad as my dog does not like to "go" in the same place twice. I'm not sure why they did this, because the pad was very absorbent before. It's still equally absorbent, I just have a picky dog. :-)
However, I have not had good results with SimpleSolution's recycled product. If the pad is on a slope, that one doesn't absorb right either. Also, when I unfold it, bits of dust fly everywhere. So I recommend going with this particular product the normal white puppy training pads.

These absorb alot better than the four paws brand. The four paws brand tends to leak and these have never leaked once. Worth the extra $1 and change for a higher quality puppy pads. My puppy only took a few minutes to recogize this is where he pees/poops. My puppy now prefers to do his business outside(and me, too) but because I am gone all day, i leave one out in case he can't hold it till I get home so there is no accidents on my wood floors.Want Simple Solution Puppy Training Pads, 100 Count Discount?
Great product, we have tried many and this one works best. Most of the other brands attractant is overwhelming this one is barely noticeable, and these pads do not leak through like many of the other brands.Tuesday, March 11, 2014

Reptology® Turtle Pier Floating Platforms w/Ramp

This platform is really nice, just beware that it is REALLY big! Do not get it unless you have a tank bigger than 20 gal.! When I upgrade my tank, I will purchase this again, but for now, it's just far to big for my turtles needs, and my turtles tank!Read Best Reviews of Reptology® Turtle Pier Floating Platforms w/Ramp Here
I have a 5" Reeve's turtle that loves this thing. He scrambles up the ramp very easily. His weight isn't enough to put it off balance so I don't fill the counterbalance with gravel. I don't have it anchored with the suction cups so it floats freely. It would be more stable if it were anchored. A larger turtle may need that. (Someone commented that their 5" turtle was too heavy for it. I'm not sure how this is possible and I only mention it because it's misleading and the only reason I hesitated to purchase this item. I assure you, it will hold a larger turtle than 5" very easily!) My turtle also loves to hide under the platform so it pulls double duty.Want Reptology® Turtle Pier Floating Platforms w/Ramp Discount?
I've read reviews that big turtles will sink the platform or the ramp will get knocked off. I've got two African Sideneck turtles and they are about 6in each for now. Both of them on, it'll somewhat sink, but barely for water to get on platform. The ramp problem, I had aquarium silicone, so glued it to the platform and had no problems. As far as bigger turtles, put an aquarium air pump on the bottom of the platform so bubbles will constantly lift the platform out of the water. Another great thing about this, it can a lot of punishment, turtles and heat.Wednesday, November 6, 2013
simpleLEASH - A No Pull Training Simple Leash and Collar
Now that we have that out of the way, a little background. I have two South African Mastiffs or Boerboels. For those of you who are familiar with the breed...no explanation necessary...for those who don't, imagine 150 lbs of muscle and determination. Under normal circumstances my pups are loving, intelligent and fun. They are very food motivated making clicker and treat training a breeze in a nice calm, controlled environment. They walk beautifully on a leash around the house and even on the street. You'd swear they were born on a leash.
The problem arises when we walk past a neighbor's yard...and that yard has another dog. My calm, loving, intelligent dogs turn into flailing masses of teeth, spit and general insanity. You can see my predicament. In that state of mind you can forget trying to distract them with treats and clicks...no matter how food motivated they are. No amount of praise or pats on the head would break them out of that trance.
I've tried flat collars, harnesses and even prong collars. Results ranged from highly ineffective in the case of the flat collar and the harness to mildly effective with the prong. Then I decided to try the simpleLeash. Within the first walk, at factory settings I noticed a huge improvement. I was actually able to make the block without fear of losing my arm. The shock from the collar was no doubt uncomfortable but by no means damaging or dangerous. I would even say this type of correction would be far safer than a choke or prong because there is no pressure on the neck or vertebrae. When I bring out the collar my dogs are excited to see it and anxious for their walk...that should tell you something.
The genius of the design is the beep before the shock. It reliably trains the dog to associate a pull with the beep..and a beep with the shock. The shock only happens after a couple seconds of beeping...giving the dog plenty of time to respond without correction.
I must say I almost lost hope of being able to peacefully walk my dogs but this collar has definitely made it a more enjoyable experience for not just me but the dogs as well. Despite what others may think some dogs simply cannot be trained by positive reinforcement alone and this to me might be the most humane and effective form of negative reinforcement you can use. It's like having the skills and technique of a professional trainer in a box.I have over twenty years of dog experience in conformation, obedience, and therapy dog training. I own a 10 month old female working breed who pulls no matter what training method: treats, praise, flat collar, training collar, gentle leader, canny collar, cesar milan illusion collar, and finally prong collar. She is excellent at heel in obedience class but real-life walks are another matter. I have tried to wear her out by biking with her using the "Let's Go" bike attatchment prior to our walks. The Simple Leash worked immediately. I disagree with those who think it is cruel to use shock methods every pet is different. I have a stronger bond now with my pet and we BOTH are enjoying our walks. There is a thirty day guarantee so there is nothing to lose trying out this collar it may just be the solution you are looking for!
Buy simpleLEASH - A No Pull Training Simple Leash and Collar Now
On the VERY first walk using this collar my 110lbs. extremely exuberant 2 1/2 year old American Field Lab rescue pulled exactly ONCE. After that one correction the warning tone was enough. I've since capped one of the prongs, (as suggested in the instructions,) with one of the prong caps included in the package, (a clever use of the same tool used to change out the prongs to adjust for a long/short hair dog.)My guy has NEVER again pulled on our walks...no matter what the temptation. If he were to ever pull again, it would be very easy to remove the cap mid-walk so he would again get a correction. This is a real plus.
Another plus is the control box incorporated in the collar that contains all the controls and batteries is very small and next to invisible. While I wish it was available in colors other than grey, (since my guy is black,) it is still almost unnoticeable, certainly much less obvious than a prong collar.
I would have given this collar all 5-stars, but for: 1. To adjust the settings, (or replace the batteries,) requires unscrewing the control box. 2. Once you get it open, the switches and descriptions are so tiny you will need a magnifying glass to read them, and even with constant referral to the equally tiny print and pictures in the instructions, I was not sure what the actual settings were. 3. Not waterproof, (so we can walk on the beach, but if he wants to go in the water the collar has to be removed.) 4. I tried this on myself exactly once...at lowest setting, (factory set standard,) the vibration was so strong and unpleasant, it prompted me to open the thing up and try and ascertain if it was in fact the lowest setting, not really sure if it is or not, it was next to impossible to read the switch labeling... even when referring to the skimpy manual that comes with the unit. If it is the lowest setting possible, I can't even image what the higher settings would feel like, nor would I ever try it again on myself or another human I cared about.
Despite these relatively minor complaints, given the instant improvement, I would recommend this product...particularly if you have a dog capable of flying you across the street and possibly dragging you along the pavement in the process as well. If that is your situation, you will be amazed at what this collar can do to improve your relationship with your dog.

I have a very well trained, but VERY high energy lab. I love hiking with her, but it seems like more and more people expect her to be on a lead. I had tried the halters, Gentle Leader, and pinch collars, but she still couldn't help but pull. I tried this leash and collar and it worked like a charm the first time. It came ready to use. She had been trained on my Invisible Fence, so she understood exactly how this worked. Walks are much more enjoyable now.Want simpleLEASH - A No Pull Training Simple Leash and Collar Discount?
Thanks to Naveen Baldeo's very detailed review, I purchased this for my two 15 month old rescue pups (65 lb Husky, Coon Hound and Terrier mix siblings).I started walking them at 4 months old to get used to it, however it was a pull-along every time! The heavier they got, the stronger they got!
I love them so much and did discipline them, but they are just so excited to go walking it was difficult to do so.
The last straw happened a few months ago when they pulled me so hard I injured my wrist (I am barely 5' with skinny wrists). It took a while to heal and the fear of walking them again stopped us from doing so altogether.
These leashes are perfect! The beep is long enough before any corrective action occurs. I have taken them twice already and both times were great!
Yesterday it stopped them from chasing 2 squirrels, a cat, a dog that got loose AND stopped them from jumping on a child that wanted to pet them. All with just the Beep!!
I cannot recommend this enough for anyone who has a strong dog [or dogs] that you want to save from injury to yourself, or them too.
Thank you again Naveen!!

My 16 pound mixed breed is a good guy, but barks at everyone and everything, training has worked for all activities except barking so I wanted something friendly. This muzzle is soft but firm, he can drink and take light small treats through the openings and best of all he can not get it off.Read Best Reviews of Baskerville 6-Inch Rubber Ultra Muzzle, Size-2, Black Here
Great product!! I used this during the day while at work on my < 2yr old whippet to prevent her from eating shoes, wooden furniture legs, you name it. She had no issues putting this on each morning before I left. It's great because she can still drink and it has a soft velvet like liner so doesn't cause any skin issues. I recently forgot to muzzle her before leaving while in a rush and came home to nothing chewed. I decided to trial her without it for the next few days and she is no longer chewing! Awesome!!Want Baskerville 6-Inch Rubber Ultra Muzzle, Size-2, Black Discount?
Great muzzle! You must make sure that your measurements are accurate or the muzzle will be blocking their vision. Although the muzzle is durable and useful, my dog hates anything on his face. He has rubbed all the hair off around his eyes and they were very swollen. I don't use it anymore, but I do have it just in case the need arises. They are much better than the cloth muzzles because it allows your dog to drink and pant if they want to. Dogs need to pant to regulate their body temperature. This muzzle allows that, where others do not.
