This was great to train our 2lb malti-poo how to walk on a leash. This worked much better than a regular collar because he would freeze up during walks and we had to carry him back. Using this in the backyard taught him how to walk on a leash in less than two hours. He is only 12 weeks but he was able to learn and he likes that one better than his regular collar. I would definitely recommend this product because it is as good as the ones that are more expensive.

I found this toy when looking for something indestructible that my weimaraner wouldn't be able to destroy in two minutes. This has surpassed the mark and still is her favorite toy! I love that this is dishwasher safe. I was very excited to try different foods in the tube. I am a professional dog trainer and I am always looking for new ways to deliver reinforcers. I only took one star away because it can be messy to fill but otherwise, I love the treat toob!

Pros:

Silicone is easy to squeeze and dishwasher safe

Nozzle is well-designed, and dispenses treats with very little mess

Works better than other food tubes that are designed for camping rather than dog training

Cons:

Too small!! 3 oz was only enough to train my large dog for a few minutes. Would work well for small breeds, but large dogs or long training sessions will require multiple fillings.

A little difficult to fill--although it's easier to fill it with a butter knife.

Overall, I would recommend this product, because it's better than anything else I've tried. I just wish the company would introduce a large size that's actually large. I use canned food, so it'd be really nice to be able to fit a whole (small) can into the toob.

A Few thing I don't like about this product:

-The collar loosens and has come off by itself. It may seem like an innovative collar design to have both a buckle and a clasp, but it's not. It's a very cheap collar. As another reviewer stated, it's worth buying a quality collar to replace the el-cheapo one that comes with the device. (Hey, I bought one from the grocery store for 4 dollars that is higher quality). Also, because it's very important to have a dog bark collar that is snug, but not overly tight or too loose, a buckle is terrible idea. The holes in the collar are at about 1 inch increments so your most likely not going to get the best fit. Buy a collar that allows for a custom fit.

-Other reviewer's mention that the collar repeatedly shocks their dog for no reason at all. I've also experienced this and it was due to user error. I had my mini-aussie sitting in the truck next to me and I was talking in her ear telling her she's a good girl and I saw her head bob as it does when she is getting a static correction. I looked at the collar and the setting was set to 'test'. She was getting shocked each time I talked to her. Setting it to off or a regular setting fixed the problem. Kind of a design mistake if you ask me. I don't like the thought that I could accidentally leave the device on test while I'm in a hurry to get out the door and my dog gets shocked the rest of the day. It's the lowest setting shock, but just moving or slight sounds set it off. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LEAVE IT ON TEST MODE.

-The RFA-97 proprietary batteries. While they are not going to break the bank at 4 for ~13 dollars plus shipping, it does add up. (My first battery was depleted in aprox. 6 weeks of continuous usage). Another reviewer briefly mentions that she was able to pry the battery out and replaced it. I have not done this and instead was able to find a company on ebay that mentioned their website rfa97 (I don't want to directly link, but you can search for RFA67 Battery Holder). disclaimer: I have not yet used this product, so I can't comment on it. But I can say that it will save me money because it uses the ubiquitous cr-2032 watch batteries. Shame on pet safe for profiteering on a battery revenue.

What I like about the collar:

-Seems to work better then my other cheaper pet safe model. I was using a cheaper brand for a while but lost it around the house. (fell into the couch cushions!) I still needed a bark collar, so I spent a long time reading reviews before I settled on the pdc-300. I have to say that it has been a night and day change with my dog. She used to herd other dogs and not care about the static correction on the cheaper model, but this model has 3 levels of adaptive correction and when it's on 2 of 3, one bark is enough and she quiets down. The collar works from the start and keeps her calm to avoid escalation of her barking. I was about to get kicked out of the place I"m living because of her, and just today my landlord said she has seen a huge improvement.

**KEEP IN MIND static correction is not a substitute for exercising your dog. Your dog may be barking because he/she is bored. Exercise your dog for at least 45mins-2 hours a day (depending on breed) and keep it up. In a few weeks you will see the difference Exercise is fun for you and your dog. Yes, you do have the time. Just because it gets dark outside when you come home is no excuse. Train your dog to run on a treadmill or buy an LED meteorlite ball that lights up the night (also sold on amazon) and play fetch with your dog in the dark.

I gave the product a 3 out of 5 stars due to what I view as shortcomings of the product. However, it's better than most of the collars on the market, so I would still recommend it.

I bought one of the collar as pictured directly from the PetSafe website. It was the best I've had of three different types of bark collars because it doesn't fire when the dog shakes his head, and the adjustable dial gives me control over the severity of the "reminder" the dog receives. A school play yard is adjacent to my backyard, and the dogs would bark hysterically whenever the children were outside, driving my wonderful neighbors nuts. It worked so well on my younger Schnauzer that I decided to get another one for the older Schnauzer. The new collar arrived with a different buckle arrangement than the one in the picture. It has the black plastic snap fastener, a metal buckle, holes for the buckle tongue to go through, and a black plastic holder for the excess strap. All this gear on a little mini Schnauzer neck is not a pretty sight! The holder piece broke, so I have to weave the excess strap under the collar so it doesn't flap around. Now, the good news: Amazon.com is sending me a free replacement, and I don't have to send back the one I have until the new one arrives! Way to go, Amazon.com!

Just a note for the unaware: smart dogs who really want to bark quickly learn that they can bark through the series of six shocks at the first (mildest) level, then they won't get shocked again for quite some time. That's a safety feature built into the collar, and can make one think the collar isn't working. This particular problem can be overcome by adjusting it up a notch on this collar! A nice feature!

Another note: DO NOT LEAVE THE COLLAR ON THE DOG FOR MORE THAN 12 HOURS AT A TIME. My grandson was at a customer's house and noticed a neglected dog in the back yard that never had the collar removed. He had developed sores on his neck from the contact points. The owner was reported to the animal safety people. ... The collar itself is not cruel, but owners sure can be! I've used the collar on my dog for over five years, being careful to remove it every night, and there is no sign of injury from it.

Update, 12/28/11 The metal buckle on the second collar mentioned above wore out the collar. The working part the box with battery still works great, but the collar is shot. There are no replacement collars available, so I had to buy a regular collar to adapt for the use. The first replacement had a snap collar and a fairly wide band, which is what i wanted. I had to disassemble the collar to remove the metal ring that I was afraid might make contact with the prongs and cause inadvertent zaps. After doing that, I discovered that the snap buckle with it's sturdy metal casing was so heavy that it caused the collar to spin on the dog's neck, getting the control box out of position and rendering the collar ineffective. Second collar, plastic snap buckle, MUCH effort getting three holes through the collar to place the control box, and we have a successful replacement. When the collar needs replacing again, I will take it to a shoe-repair place to have the holes put in it. Beats buying a whole new collar!

This is an excellent collar/training system.. PetSafe is a reliable company that takes pet care seriously. My dogs took to the collars so well, they only need to wear them as a reminder a few hours a week. They actually go the hang of it after just one doorbell/bark session and actually stayed away from the door the entire time they had the collars on. If the kids get the dogs going, all I have to do is grab a collar and show them and they settle down immediately. There is an intimidation factor present and it works wonderfully. The nylon section is strong and durable and I have had nothing but good luck with the product. I would highly recommend it to anyone who cringes every time a visitor rings your doorbell or a squirrel passes by. It truly helps them keep control without you lifting a finger. Excellent product!

I have 3 dogs (2 mini-dachshunds and a mutt), and decided to invest in this for the instigator of the bark-fest that takes place at my house daily. I tried an ultra-sonic device that didnt do anything, along with other behavioral things. My husband was ready to get rid of the dogs and I was getting a little nutty. This was worth every penny.

I started on the weakest setting and that worked fine for my dog. When the collar gave a "correction", my dog yelped, and would run into her kennel, which made me feel horrible. It took only about 3 "corrections" over the course of the week to transform my dog into being a church mouse.

Since my other dogs took up the barking given up by the instigator, I rotated it among my 3... until the mutt got ahold of it and chewed off the dial....

A couple of things... You have to buy the special batteries by Petsafe for this, which is sort of a pain. It is also rather bulky for smaller dogs.

I have two greyhounds, which are soft seeking missiles. They're not happy just laying on the floor for very long and get fussy, because they don't have much body fat or thick fur for padding. Their beds at home are kuranda beds, which is another type of cot-style bed that is designed for heavy use. They're wonderful but you can't really travel with them AND the dogs unless you have a large vehicle. I've forsaken the large expensive "mega pillow" style beds because they're hard to clean and you have to replace them basically every year after they go flat, and besides, they also have the same bulk problem for traveling. So, my poor hounds have had to just travel with these roll up fleece beds I bought from a greyhound adoption group.

So, I was really excited to find this bed. I hardly ever see this style of bed for large dogs, and when I have, they're really expensive, which isn't worth it for a bed they're only going to use maybe 10-15 times a year. It's the perfect size one greyhound. I actually just ordered a 2nd one for my other dog. There was no assembly required, I just unfolded the bed and put on the fitted sheet. I just had to pat on the bed and my dog laid on it immediately and looked pleased.

The metal frame seems to be really sturdy and good quality. The canvas isn't anything spectacular, it's not like the stuff on my kuranda beds. It's the kind you'd find on one of those $20 canvas folding chairs. However, at this price point, that's ok. Also, they reinforced the canvas at some critical points with webbed nylon strapping. That, plus the quilted fitted sheet should negate the low quality canvas. When collapsed, the bed fits nicely in the back of my Jetta's trunk.

Unfortunately I have had to use doggie diapers on my small dog for the past year. I've tried a few different kinds.

Most are cut to fit comfortably with a small hole for the dogs tail. For some reason the cut of this diaper did not work for us. The hole was too low and when you wrapped the tape around to secure the diaper the hole for the tail was in the wrong place.

This is a very cute collar with a pattern fit for a princess. Easy to clasp on and off the collar and has never come undone (i have had other types of closure leads slip off collars) For the price I feel the lead is pretty good quality-only showing slight wear after 3 months of use (a tiny bit of fraying on the edges). I use this multiple times a day and it is comfortable on my wrist and the 6 feet is long enough to allow my puppy to prance around but short enough to control her. I highly recommend for the price.

American Kennel Junior Series Dog Agility Weave Poles

This item is perfect for a small to medium sized dog. I've wanted to do at home agility with my dog but the equipment was just too expensive. With the recent snow storms we've been getting in Ohio my dogs haven't been able to exercise as much. And with a toy australian shepherd, just like the big ones, they get antsy. This is a perfect activity to do with your dog. It helps improve attention and thinking skills. I bought the tunnel chute, jump and weave polls all together because the price was perfect and qualified for free shipping. My dogs are already becoming efficient on the jump after just a few hours of play off and on throughout the day.

With my dachshund this is very interactive and easier on his joints than the jump. Very easy to put together and tear down. No screws or snaps. Just put the poles in like pegs. Even if you aren't serious about doing real agility it's a good thinking and physical exercise for indoors. When the snow melts i'll have to see how well it does outdoors. If it blows i'm sure you could weigh it down in the middle and ends with something like small sand bags or even a bag of rice.

note: when i originally ordered the set from pricebully the jump was 11.99, the poles, 16.99 and the chute was 19.99. So I would look around for a lower price before buying to see if you can find it cheaper first.

Low cost but heavy duty enough to set up in yard and use daily. My mini aussie is 17" and he works them just fine.

I borrowed this same exact set from a friend who bought it at a bargain outlet store for $7.99. For $7.99 it might be worth the aggrivation. If paying regular price of $20+ don't bother. The poles are hard to get into the fittings and don't stay well. I was using for a dog training class and it took my assistant and I forever to get it together and then it kept coming apart. Luckily I didn't have many dogs going through it. Using PVC piping and fittings purchased at my local hardware store, I made a set for myslef for under $25.00 that is much easier to put together. There is a part that had to be ordered on-line as I could not get at either Home Depot, Lowes or the 3 plumbing supply stores I went to. The part which has to be ordered on-line is the 4 way tee which you would need 2 of. This part is apparently considered to be furniture grade PVC. I got the piece on-line at FORMUFIT. They also have downloadable instructions on their site on how to make a jump, a pause box and weave poles. However, their weave poles require more of the 4 way tees than copying this set.

My Black labs LOVE these things! They will fetch all day long or unitl I get tired of throwing them. They are easy to throw, provide a good and varied bounce and hold up pretty well. They are not a chew toy, although one of my labs thinks it okay to bite off the rope, bummer. When that happens, they get a shorter throw, but they don't care. After lots of fetching and abuse, the cover begins to come off. After the cover is torn completely off and the tug of war between the two dogs it ends up in two pieces. Time for another. I buy these a dozen at a time! They last as well as anything else I have purchased. To purchase locally they cost $14.99. What a rip! Great company service and excellent delivery time.

I bought the large version of this toy for my lab/shepard mix who is 65 pounds. My dog can go through toys pretty quickly so I tend to stick with brands that create the most durable toys to make my money last a little longer. The rope on this toy is made of nylon, not canvas like some of the other kong toys, and because it is made of nylon my dog ripped through the toy in less than 5 minutes. I literally opened the toy and by the time I turned around it was in two pieces. I gave it two stars because I was still able to use the fetch part of the toy without the rope.

My dogs love the Air Kong Line. It is a great item to play fetch with and with the shape of theis toy both dogs try to pull on it to bring it back. Unlike the other review, mine has lasted several months without much wear and tear (it is quite dirty though). All in all I would say that this is a great item for fetch and the dog park. The balls are also great as they are close to indestructable for my dogs but still sqeak to drive them nuts.

Only complaint, it breaks easily. I have two smaller dogs that wrestle and play all the time. They are constantly getting at each other's collars to try and pin the other. It took about a week of that before the lights stopped working due to this. Now it's just a nice looking green collar.

Easy Walk Harness - Medium/Large, Deep Purple Tweener

This tween size is hard to find. It is perfect for golden retrievers. does what it is supposed to. If my 70lb dog wants to go in one direction, I can move hime into another. Easy to put on and take off.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do, and better than any other one I've ever used. I actually use it 2 ways. If I really need her to heel, like near the street, I use it like it's supposed to be worn, attaching in the front. If we're out in the woods and I want to give her a little more leeway, I actually connect it from behind, like a more traditional harness.

My only issue is that based on the recommendations, I bought solely based on girth. My problem was that even though it fit around her trunk, it was too small to fit behind her front legs the way the guide recommends. I went the next step up and even though I had to tighten the chest straps almost all the way, it fit her a lot better. Since it didn't fit as advertised, it "didn't meet the description" as Amazon calls it, I was able to get a full refund and get the larger size.

If they get excited about something on our walk and want to go after it, they can use their full strength to do so. Not good! I would not recommend the easy walk harness, unless it's for a smaller dog. I do love the gentle leader...much more effective for us!

This is a nice harness and the concept is good, but it didn't work for my golden puppy. She's a puller and while this did pull her to the side as described, it also got her tangled up in her leash too much. Seems like it would work best for a dog that refuses to walk, rather than a dog that pulls.

It takes some time and patience to get this harness adjusted jusst right, with multiple fittings; but it is well worth the effort and the process is only necessary once, unless the size of the dog changes. My dog, a very energetic Lab/Australian Shepherd mix, is young and tends to be easily distracted. She actually walks very nicely on a leash now, most of the time, but squirrels, kids, other dogs, etc., are sometimes too interesting. The Easy Walk harness works very well as a reminder, and my dog doesn't seem to mind it at all. I had been using a 'head collar' to train her, as this had worked well for two other dogs; and while it did work very well, my dog obviously didn't like it and often tried to rub it off, even after using it almost daily for a few months. A friend recommended the Easy Walk harness, and since the local pet store doesn't carry the 'tweener' sizes (medium would have just barely fit, and large was too large) I ordered one. I received the harness in perfect condition less than a week after ordering it.

I ordered a large based on the weights 61-85lb. I have a large Pointer who weighs 78 lbs. It did not fit him well at all. It rolled and rubbed in all the wrong places. I think maybe a medium would have been better for him. Maybe if he was shaped like a lab it may have worked but with the deep chest and narrow "waist" of a pointer it just didn't work.

I don't use this vest for hunting but I do use it to make cleaning her easier. I have an 80 lb golden retriever, and after a snow or rain she kicks up alot of dirt and water on her underside when I take her out for a walk. She is now protected from all that dirt and rain with this underside vest. It is 100% easier to wipe her down now, I wish I bought this earlier. I receive many questions and comments about this vest when I take her out, I would highly recommend it! It's cheap, it's lightweight and it makes it easy to clean her dog!

The transmitter is retained within the holster by a secure fastener at the top, and gives complete access to all the controls and visibility to the led on top. The holster has a hand grip and belt loop on the side, and a loop on the bottom, together with an adjustable shoulder strap that connects to the bottom loop. The most convenient method of using this is to use the shoulder strap in conjunction with the bottom loop, with the shoulder strap adjusted to waist level. Slinging over the shoulder so that the transmitter hangs upside down at waist level to your side makes it very easy to get access to and operate the transmitter when needed without being in the way.
