Aetertek AT-219 LCD Display 1000 Yard Remote 4-in-1 Dog Training Collar with Shock,Vibration,Ultraso

Aetertek AT-219 LCD Display 1000 Yard Remote 4-in-1 Dog Training Collar with Shock,Vibration,Ultrasonic Sound, and Auto Anti-bark for 2 DogsI have been using an elite-tek ET-9868 remote dog training collar for a year and was very satisfied. I decided to buy this training collar because of the extra features. I train dogs and I liked the anti-bark function and the ability to correct two dogs at the same time. I had some trouble programming the device, but after that was done, I initially liked how it worked. I turned of the anti-bark the first day because my dog was corrected at time I didn't want her to be corrected. This is at no fault of the device, but if my dog would get enthousiastic while playing with a ball and would start to bark I didn't want her to get shocked. The second day the receivers started to go off without us touching the remote. This was extremely traumatic to my sensitive dog and I returned the item. I have decided to continue to use the ET-9868 (now Aetertek 216S-550S) which I highly recommend.

It is great to have the four in one remote. It can be used for one dog or two different dogs!

Pet Naturals Calming for Dogs

Pet Naturals Calming for Small DogsSo, I have a beagle. She's a perfectly lovely little dog, but can be quite hyper at times. Ok, more than hyper, she can be crazy. Particularly when the rest of the family comes in in the afternoons. She jumps all over them, runs in circles around the house, and takes a good hour or so to return to non-frenzy state. I gave her one of these little calming treats today and voila, no jumping, no running. She was still her normal happy self and has been playing as normal, she just isn't wound quite so tightly after having the treat. She accepted the treat willingly without me having to hide it in anything. (But if I am to be completely honest, she is not the most discriminating eater, so make of that what you will.)

Bought these for my 3 year old, 90lb chocolate lab (field breed, not english breed... aka the super crazy labs). Had to leave her unattended in a friend's house while we went out to a soccer game, and have used them SPARINGLY when we visit friends and she needs to be mellow for a few hours (despite walking her, playing fetch and dog parks, she will still jump around and get into everything).

When she eats them, she tends to be very mellow and more likely to nap than whine, bounce around, or otherwise get into everything. I would give this 5 stars, but I really dislike the idea of medicating a dog for its natural behavior/energy/curiosity on a regular basis. She is a lab they have a ton of energy naturally. Also beware the energy spike when these wear off. Your dog will want extra attention/exercise when these wear off.

But if you need a mellow dog in a pinch (leaving them unattended in a strange place, visiting dog-shy relatives or friends, these will work. Just follow the directions on the bag and don't give them too much.

SEE UPDATES BELOW!!!

This is one of four calming products from Pet Naturals with the same dosage ratio of key ingredients per ten pounds of pet weight: only the size of the soft chew varies in three and the fourth is a liquid. ALL WORK BEAUTIFULLY on our four pets and better than the compounded (& expensive) drug amytryptalline (sp?) prescribed by our vet. The liquid may have a convenience advantage, especially for pets whose weight falls in between the listed weight categories. The liquid is more expensive, however, and would have to sell for about $14 to equal the serving cost of the larger chews. Most economical is the product for medium-to-large dogs ($6-$7 for 21 chews) but requires slicing the chews into smaller bits (completely doable, by the way) for pets under about 40 pounds to get portion sizes to match the manufacturer's recommended dosage. I surmise that the manufacturer's recommendation is based on the worst-case scenario (sensitive pet and acute stressful situation). For less taxing situations/pets it would be entirely reasonable to begin with a milder dose (say half or even a fourth) and work up to an effective level. We have four 10-pound pets, two of which have aggression issues: one out of jealousy and the other defensiveness; the third is skittish and over-excitable; the fourth (the mom-cat) is generally cool but gets a little frayed by the others' behaviors. I slice the larger chews into about 20 bits and add a bit to each of the two protagonists' three daily meals. This gives me about 7 dosage-days per cat per chew rather than 4 days at the recommended level.

SPECIAL NOTE ON DOSAGES: See my review of either RENAFOOD or RENAL ESSENTIALS for more information on the RELIABILITY (including label dosages) of supplement products.

This smaller dosage regimen seems to work just fine for these behavior issues for these pets. I may try reducing the dosage even further after the two antagonists have achieved a noticeable attitude adjustment. The product does seem to work better on the jealous/aggressive pet better than on the defensive one. I had noticed this same phenomenon with my DIY herb mixtures (chamomile, peppermint, fennel, ginger, etc.). They seemed to have more effect on the pet with genetic/developmental aggression than on the one with learned/protectionist aggression. The Pet Naturals formula, however, works noticeably better on both pets than my homemade concoctions ever did (Well, just as good and it tastes worlds better, say the pets). ONE NEGATIVE: The liquid is 3.8 oz not 4 oz. as advertised. Small but unnecessary discrepancy. MORE POSITIVES: the pets LOVE the product; it is non-addictive; and (naturally!) natural. The only time it is not effective in calming the pets is after they get a good whiff of the stuff and before you can give it to them. During this interval, THEY GO ABSOLUTELY NUTS. And STAY NUTS until the aroma (and product) is out of range of their senses. IRONIC, huh!! According to the people at Pet Naturals the product has no dependency issues and the ingredients are completely "natural". The colostrum is the bovine variety and said to be hormone free. I did not ask (I did not WANT to know) how they harvested this natural colostrum. Also per Pet Naturals, the calming effect takes about 30 minutes to engage and lasts about 4-6 hours. Again, I suspect this is based on the more intense end of the stress/anxiety spectrum. In our case, the "bits" of reduced dosage last from meal to meal, which is at least 8 hours (and sometimes a little longer--I know, the pets think we are irresponsible too!). We have only had one bad fight since starting the regimen about two weeks ago and it was CAUSED BY the product!! (retraction later). We were comparing products with the pets in the same room (same bed!) and our jealous one got a whiff. She got very excited and persisted in pursuing the aroma thru the closed containers. This apparently broke the calming power of her meal "bits" and within a half hour she ambushed her favorite target sibling viciously (well, it sounded vicious). So WE were the CAUSE of this attack, NOT the Pet Naturals. Had we given our keen-sensed one another small "bit" (and put the stuff away quicker) she probably would have settled back down and resumed her repose. CUSTOMER SERVICE at Pet Naturals deserves accolades as well. I spoke to two reps there (one actually in sales) and both were just EXCELLENT; probably the best customer service experience I have had that I can remember (should I mention my memory loss problem?). They actually sounded like they were enjoying helping and they actually did with their knowledge of the product and with actual experience in using the product. For instance, they knew the "user satisfaction" level that the product designers shoot for: namely a minimum of 80% and that their products typically achieve a 90% user (pet) acceptance level. In our case, it is 100% (& possibly 110%). I am also testing the liquid formula as a flavor enhancer for appetite-challenged pets. So far the aroma of the calming liquid (and the "bits") is easily lost when mixed with food (even dry nibbles) or water or chilled. I generally feed our pets dry nibblers floating on about an ounce of water. One of our pets has renal failure and the accompanying diminished appetite. Adding the "bits" or liquid drops to her food does not seem to improve her appetite level. I would have expected a dramatic effect based on how appealing the products are to our pets if fed to them out of hand. I am not through with the "enhancer" experiments yet, so I may add to this review later if I have something new to report. I am also testing other calming alternatives, one in particular from VETS*BEST, and will compare the products when I write a review on this other brand. There are still other brands of calmers out there but, having found some that work for us (and at an affordable serving-cost), I do not plan to check these others out. So if anyone could extend the product comparisons by bringing in others they have used in side-by-side trials with Pet Naturals or Vets*Best it would be immensely helpful to future seekers of pet (and human) calm.

UPDATES: 1) This review was last updated on January 18, 2012 and JANUARY 2, 2013, to add a note on a NEW (and EVEN BETTER VALUE) PN product and a few details. 2) The promised review of VETS*BEST TRAVEL CALM is now available. 2)I finally found some flavor enhancers that are effective and summarized the results of my search in a review of CAT-MAN-DOO BONITO SPRINKLES. 3) I recently discovered a FIFTH PN CALM product that represents the BEST VALUE to date: CALM XL for dogs over 75 pounds. Currently it has about 3-times the amount (8 oz) of the package for medium-to-large dogs at about twice the price. And, like the other "dog-bone" shaped PN products, it can be sliced or ground for matching the serving size to the size and needs of the pet.

Our small 12 year old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix gets dog really excited every time we take the 3 hour trip to our vacation home. She starts stressing while we pack the car like she knows where we are going and she doesn't want to be left behind. We go about once a month and she pants almost the entire way, driving me crazy. We have given her these to her 3 times and each time about 10 minutes later she is calm and then goes to sleep for most of the trip. It's great! She is not doped up and likes the taste very much. I highly recommend these.

This seemed to work great for my 7lb dog.

She didn't get knocked out just mellow!

So far this is the only thing that has worked and it is

cheaper then the ones I tried from Petco that didn't work!

Plus she ate it with no problem. The last kind I tried I would

have to hide it in other treats to get her to eat it.

We both are happy campers :)

Clean Go Pet Disposable Doggie Diaper, Medium

Clean Go Pet Disposable Doggie Diaper, MediumI needed these for my cat who had major surgery and needed to keep the area clean and free from him licking. but there was no product for cats. I used this one because it was for small dogs. it is his size but the whole was too close so he still managed to get the pee out the whole. other than that, it reminds me of Huggies and I really liked the absorbancey.

I found that these disposal pet diagpers did not fasten properly and didn't not stay on my 14 lb dog. I would not purchase them again.

Exclusively Pet Best Buddy Bits

Exclusively Pet Best Buddy Bits-Beef and Liver Flavor, 12-Ounce PackageI ordered these to help in the training of my two dogs. They are great because they are small and they dissolve shortly after the dogs get them in their mouths. No waiting for them to chew during training. They were exactly what I wanted, and ordered, and were shipped out right away. I had them within a few days of placing the order. I would order from them again.

Until recently I was purchasing these snacks at my local Pet Supermarket. They no longer carry them so I went to Amazon.com. The reason they are perfect for my two dogs ( a Lab and a Chow mix) is not the size obviously but because I have a dog toy that is one of those toys that you pull out the center and fill the different layers inside with treats. After putting the center piece back in you shake it around and the dog has to learn to push it with his nose or paws to get the treats to lay just right to fall out. Well my Lab learned in one day and just loves this toy. The ONLY treats that I have found that fit are this brand and he loves all the flavors but especially the cheese flavor and the yogurt brand. There are quite a lot in one bag and reasonably priced. Yes, I will buy more!

Lupine 1-Inch 2-Feet Traffic Lead, Purple

Lupine 1-Inch 2-Feet Traffic Lead, PurpleI have two Gordon Setter pups and walking with longer leads was unplesant to say the least. With the shorter leads they are much better behaved and there's hope of training them properly. These leads are well constructed and sturdy. The mechanism is much easier to use than my other leads important with two excited and squirmy pups!

I got this leash in three colors (purple, bright orange, bright pink). They are all nice colors; however, the purple is my favorite. It is a nice length to use for small dogs. Great training leash for dogs not to pull when walking.

It's perfect size that seem does not sell in the regular pet shops which I had been search for quite sometime and the color purple is one of my favorite. Excellent size for my medium dog. Also that give me the opportunity to work with my dog better as she is learning my command more comfortable as possible. My dog is half Parson Russell Terrier and half Chihuahua which make her more medium size than small.

Herm Sprenger German Prong Collar 3.25 MM

Herm Sprenger German Prong Collar 3.25 MMAt first I was reticent to try this collar it looks so agressive, and I'm only trying to fine-tune our newly adopted dog's leash walking and have an effective deterrent from her urge to chase madly after every squirrel, crow, and neigborhood dog (the last for play, the first two with a bit more murderous intent).

After talking to a professional dog walker and trainer, I decided to give this collar a try. The dog walker regularly 'pack runs' with neighbors of 2 and 4 legs that have varied dispositions (golden retriever, doberman, border collie) and they all use these collars during runs. The dog trainer said her dog prefers this collar over a straight collar, choke chain, or gentle leader, which I couldn't imagine for our rowdy pup, however, I thought it was worth a shot.

When I received the collar, I was impressed with the craftmanship. I tried it on my thigh, and the collar gives pressure without much pinching or poking. This is far better than the ones I tried at the pet store, which had abrupt ends to the prongs that bit into my skin.

I braced for resistance when I placed the collar on our dog. She didn't try to scratch or shake it off, so on went the leash and off we were. She is very obedient with this collar, much more so than the gentle leader. Since I rarely had to spin to redirect her attention, we covered an extra mile on our morning round. Getting ready for walk #2 she came right up to me, sat, and leaned forward for me to connect the collar. Whoosagooooddoggie?

In order to prevent injury, be sure to keep a loose leash at all times unless you're correcting, then tug briefly and release. This method works very well during walks, and my dog loves the collar.

This collar was recommended for my 5 year old German Shepherd by his trainer. I'll have to admit, it worked wonders in his training and on walks!

Buy Herm Sprenger German Prong Collar 3.25 MM Now

When I first got my dog, I purchased a cheap knock off prong collar with the quick-release clip. I decided I wanted one that didn't have the quick release as they aren't recommended. I heard that Herm Sprenger collars are good quality so went with this one. It's made well and is relatively easy to put on and take off. For the record, the tag on the collar says it's 18" inches long (there is no mention of the length in the product description). Prongs are easily removable to adjust the size. It should fit high up on the dog's neck behind the ears up against the skin; not too loose or tight.

Grannick Bitter Apple Gel Formula with Flip-top for Dogs 4oz

Grannick Bitter Apple Gel Formula with Flip-top for Dogs 4ozI'm a professional dog trainer and can't recommend this product enough. I advise all of my students with young dogs to have a bottle on hand. I have also used it during wound care to deter bandage chewing. The gel formula has great staying power.

I was recommended NaturVet Bitter Yuck No Chew Spray at a local Petco because they said some dogs actually enjoy Bitter Apple spray. When Bitter Yuck failed, I decided to go for something more substantial-A Bitter Apple GEL-by recommendation from The Everything Labrador Retriever Book: A Complete Guide to Raising, Training, and Caring for Your Lab (Everything Series)

The product seems to momentarily curb my puppy's interest in an object immediately after application, but it doesn't take long before the puppy is back chewing on it again (a few hours). I think it's hit or miss. Either your dog won't care or it will hate it. It probably also depends on whether your dog will learn from the first attempt, or will keep going back until the gel just wears off.

It'll probably work great for a quick learning dog with a sensitive palette, but seems to be ineffective for the rambunctious and curious puppy who learns the world through its mouth.

Buy Grannick Bitter Apple Gel Formula with Flip-top for Dogs 4oz Now

I have used the Grannick bitter apple spray somewhat successfully for years (am using it with my third puppy now). This gel formula stays put longer and doesn't have to be applied as often, but even it wears off and needs renewing. But, it is a gel, so it cannot be applied to as many items as the spray (think sofa cushions!). Since this puppy seems to think wood is an appetizer, I am finding it helpful. Nothing stops all chewing, vigilant owners are the best defense, but we can't be everywhere at all times, so this is a definite help. Four stars instead of five simply because it cannot be applied to as many places as the spray.

Read Best Reviews of Grannick Bitter Apple Gel Formula with Flip-top for Dogs 4oz Here

This stuff should be labeled "gold in a bottle.". For all that I tried to get puppy to stop chewing... This is the ONLY thing that has worked. This is going on my 3rd bottle. The only bad thing is it does wear off, and have to respray in a couple of days. I use it on walls, cords, shoes, etc. Any and everything that I don't want him to explore with his mouth!!

Want Grannick Bitter Apple Gel Formula with Flip-top for Dogs 4oz Discount?

While I am a big fan of the bitter apple spray, I am dissapointed by the gel. I'd though that being a gel, it would stay effective longer and I could avoid repeat applications. That is not the case. This product is no more efficient that the spray and it costs four times as much per ounce.

Gentle Leader Quick Release Headcollar: Small, Black

Gentle Leader Quick Release Headcollar: Small, BlackEven though I purchased a "small" size of the Gentile Leader, it was not a good fit for my 13 week Australian Terrier puppy. Therefor, it was not effective as a training device for "on lease" walking. Her head was still too small and not proportioned correctly for the head collar to be adjusted correctly. I think for a slightly larger puppy this leader would work as advertised.

This collar is the best. It allows me to walk my schnauzer without any yanking or pulling. She is happy and comfortable. Me too!

Buy Gentle Leader Quick Release Headcollar: Small, Black Now

Bought this for my mini pin/Italian Greyhound mix and it did what it is supposed to do. It was easy to put on my dog, and it did turn him around when he tried to charge. Unfortunately, he grabbed it one day and chewed through it, so I had to buy another.

I am a huge fan of this harness! When I first adopted my dog Jackson, we tried EVERYTHING to encourage better behavior when out in the world. At home he was an angel, but on the street? He caused a scene with every little trigger. This Gentle Leader saved us all a lot of grief! Over the winter I became a little lax with my training/obedience, allowed him some more freedom since he had done well for some time, and gave away our trusty Gentle Leader. Well, now it's summertime and both people and animals are out in full force... triggers galore! While he is no longer a temperamental (a nice way of saying aggressive) boy, he does still need a little help with his excited approach. So! I am thrilled to have received our new Gentle Leader, and couldn't be happier that he was happy as can be to see it pulled out of the package!! It went on him without any issue and we're pumped for our next hassle free romp around town!

StarMark Add-A-Link

StarMark Add-A-Link, LargeI'm not entirely impressed with this product but believe I still would have bought it (I still use it almost daily).

The concept and idea are great, and so far the product has remained in good condition. I have a large dog that can definitely place a lot of wear and tear on items.

The snap in/release function can be difficult and confusing and I would question the effectiveness of the faux prongs on dogs with long and/or thick fur.

I've had some people ask if it's a Lego-brand collar. My dog, in general, is well trained and well behaved; but I would draw serious concerns for those looking to replace a true prong-collar with this if they feel that the pulling and lunging issues with their animal are still on issue.

I would highly recommend this as a replacement to a choke-chain for those that have general control over their pet.

This collar is great! We were told about it by the couple we adopted our rescued German Shepherd from. The way it's made, we don't have to worry about the collar getting hung-up on links or snagged on anything in the environment. Our dog respects the collar, and we love that is provides us with extra control that doesn't hurt him.

Buy StarMark Add-A-Link Now

I have a Rotty.Young.She twisted when she pulled on the collar and the link became unlinked. The collar opened she got loose. For a smaller dog I would say this is a good product definitely. It is light weight and is better then a regular metal choker for training in my opinion because it is lighter and has the pointy spikeys. Not though for a strong hyper , being trained dog.

Read Best Reviews of StarMark Add-A-Link Here

These are additional links for the "large" pinch collar which should have been sufficient for our 60-pound setter mix, but wasn't.

Added two of these to make the original easier to slip on and off.

[Some have complained of difficulty snapping these on and off -you have to squeeze any two link together, points down, and then push one of them up; it will snap out. Snaps in the same way.]

Want StarMark Add-A-Link Discount?

We have used it with our Great Pyr since she was a pup. It does not dig in like metal pinch collars but it does apply pressure and there for it was much easier to both teach and control her while training. She is now 7 months old, 80 lbs and walks beautifully on leash. Granted training and proper use of this tool that needs to go along with applying this collar. Please speak to a dog trainer about the proper use of a training collar before you jump in.

You can choke a dog, scare a dog and crush a wind pipe if tools such as this are applied improperly.

Poochie Training Bells Solid Purple Designer Doggie Doorbell 95% Success Rate !!

Poochie Training Bells Solid Purple Designer Doggie Doorbell 95% Success Rate !!We bought one of these and put them on our front door. We followed the directions for days, weeks, months! But still (its been almost a year) our dog doesn't voluntarily ring the bell when she needs to go outside.

We can say "outside! Ring the bells!" and she runs over to the door and rings the bells and gets all excited cause she knows we are going outside. Yet she will NEVER ring them on her own! I have tried putting peanut butter on the bells to get her to go up to them on her own and then took her outside, but still she wouldn't do it again. We have tried to reward her with treats (she is a pound dog so she is very food oriented) and she happily rings the bell on command but will not do it on her own.

We still use them, consistently, as the package says EVERY time we take her outside. Either these Poochie Bells don't work or our dog just doesn't understand the concept. "Ring Bells. Go Outside". Even when she has had an upset tummy she has not rung the bells! I would love any insight...

C CHAIN RUBBER TIPS MED 18PK

C CHAIN RUBBER TIPS MED 18PKProng collars work by simulating the pinch/bite of another dog to your dog's neck, but sometimes that pinch is a bit more than you need for a sensitive pup. The comfort tips are just the thing in that situation.

NOTE: if your dog is leery of the collar when you put it on, or he squeals or whines when corrected by the collar, you may have an overly sensitive drama queen dog...but normally a dog isn't afraid of the collar and it doesn't cause pain. Such behavior actually suggests a different problem than lack of comfort . So, first thing, you should make certain that the collar is fitted properly. There should be only one to two inches of slack to the collar when it is on the dog. Too much slack makes the correction too harsh. I found this out the hard way. Also be sure you do NOT put the collar on over his head! (If you have it the proper size, you can't anyway.) I use a prong collar with a clip; but you can separate the links to put it on the dog as well. And be sure you aren't pulling hard on the leash. If you correct the dog, a gentle tug should be sufficient; in general, the dog corrects himself when he lunges against the collar.

Pup-Head Portable Dog Potty - Regular Size 20" x 30"

Pup-Head Portable Dog Potty - Regular Size 20' x 30'I did a lot of research on various dog potty products and this was among the best. It is light-weight, portable, easy to clean, and just the right size for my small breed dog.

That being said you must introduce the potty properly to your puppy or dog. We put it over the spot outside that our puppy used and then after a few weeks of him using it outside we transitioned the potty to inside the home.

Our puppy was not enthusiastic about using it at first because the artificial turf is not as soft as natural sod and may have a soft prickly feel that the dog will need to get used to.

Here are some tips that helped us.

*Keep your puppy on leash until they routinely begin to use the potty, this way you can limit the distance they can travel away from the dog potty to do their potty.

* Before making them go potty for the first time on the dog potty, get them used to walking on the new surface by luring them closer and closer to the potty with treats and then lure them on to the dog potty surface with even more treats.

* Immediately after they finish going potty on the dog potty surface give them another treat and lots of praise. They will eventually get the point and understand that they need to use the dog potty and doing so means good things (treats) even if they don't like the feel of the surface.

* Keep it clean! Rinse out the tray and artificial turf with soap and water about every second or third day. Just like cats with a litter box, dogs won't want to use a dog potty that is dirty.

I had initially tried the UGODOG but my dog didn't take to it well. He used it but he never did quite hit the spot, so to speak. His hiney kept hanging off getting poop and urine on the floor. No matter how many times I tried to get him to use it right. This is probably mainly because he's large and I guessed he never felt like he had enough space to use it. I also got tired of dumping the urine in the toilet. It got to be very messy and difficult to deal with.

Ultimately, I stopped using the UGODOG because of that. After months of returning to newspaper I decided to give another pet potty a chance (this one), but I knew I needed something bigger. This is one of the few potties out there that cater to bigger dogs. I mean really cater to them. After doing a mock measurement of their largest potty (30x40) I decided to get it because I was absolutely confident my dog would use it.

On the first day my dog used it with no trouble at all. I put the potty in "his spot" where he normally uses it, put a few sheets of newspaper on top just so he would get the point and no problem. He used it with no second guessing. After that, I no longer used the newspaper because he would be familiar with his scent after that and where he went.

I purchased 2 absorbent pads for it. At first, I thought they looked awfully thin and flimsy and wouldn't do the trick. But boy was I wrong. Those things worked wonders. I think I let him pee on that thing (potty) for 5 days in a row before it started smelling. Lazy I know. I'll be cleaning it about every 2 days from now on but had been so busy I didn't get to it until I had no choice but to.

I should also mention that I take my dog out for a morning walks so he usually only uses it in th evenings. So the 5 days I let him use it aren't really equivalent to 5 actual going days. More like 2-3 days--counting in one of the days I didn't take him out at all.

I am so happy with this product. I've dealt with stinky pee smelling carpet, crapping on the floor and awkward trips to the bathroom to dump other dog potties. I'd even tried dumping the urine of previous dog potties in a bucket. If anything, that was one of the main reasons I purchased this potty. No awkward trips. Just grab the absorbent pads, put them in the washer and clean the artificial turf in the bathtub. None of either were drenched in urine--dripping all over the place (gross right?). I let out a sigh of relief after seeing that and my opinion of this product went up about 2 notches, because when I first got it I was convinced I'd got another UGODOG that I'd have to fight with and ultimately would end up not using.

So summarily, I purchased this potty because it works great for large dogs (the larger sized potty) and because I'm not about to keep having pee splash everywhere and stink up my apartment. Even when he used it properly the urine was just ripe. It would swim through the air and my apartment would be stinking all the time and I had to clean it all the time with the UGODOG. That was disgusting. So like another reviewer said, this potty has been a God send. It has for me too. I'm not a particularly lazy dog walker but you can account for your dog having to go all the time. Obviously there's got to be a back-up system that isn't always a huge amount of work and this potty is heaven for me. It's such a relief to have it.

Lastly, I recommend you get at least 4 absorbent pads for the large sized potty or 2 for the regular sized ones for the normal sized potty, so you can rotate them when you're cleaning them. If you have a dryer, you can get away with one set, but if you're air drying them, you'll mostly need an extra set. Depends on the situation I think, but an extra set will likely make it easier in the end.

Buy Pup-Head Portable Dog Potty - Regular Size 20" x 30" Now

This item has been a God send to us and our puppy! Our puppy is fully potty/house broken, but we live in an upstairs apartment with a balcony. He was paper trained when he was little and before he had all his shots. Once we put this down outside, he took right too it! This was great for the rains that we had. Lazy on our part to not take him downstairs to go potty, but this is the next best thing. I think of it as letting your dog in the backyard to go potty rather than going for a walk.

A little hefty of a price tag, but worth it in our eyes.

I recently moved to a third floor apartment with my two small adult dogs who are well house trained. When working longer hours i have come home to puddles on the floor as the older dog is a bit incontinent after bladder surgery. I was hopeful that this would work, because when given the choice they will pee on a rug over the bare floor!

It took a bit for the dogs to be interested in it, upon getting the item i put treats on and around the potty and rewarded them for walking on it. The first night they did not seem interested in it, so during their next morning walk i took the grass mat and tried to get them to use it outside. No go, but i figured if i rubbed it around in the actual grass (especially where other dogs peed...a bit gross, i know) they would associate the scent with actually going outside. I also brought a bit of real grass inside to place on the potty.

I came home from work that night to lift up the mat and see that one of them did in fact use it while i was gone! Subsequent days have produced the same results and no puddles on the floor at all! Of course they get their regular walks but it alleviates the feelings of guilt when you have to be gone all day at work and there's no one to let the pets out. I would think that a puppy pad under the grass would allow for easier clean up, i haven't really had a problem without it though. I am very happy with this item!

Our need: we have somewhat flexible schedules, but the puppy still ends up home alone for way too many hours several days a week.

We wanted something more eco friendly reusable than puppy pads so we tried this based on the great reviews.

Other useful info: we've had it for a month during which time the puppy has gone from 11 pounds to 25 pounds. The problems have been consistent though...but, if you have like a five pound dog, this might be fine.

Pros/Successes: none.

Cons/Disasters:

First, it is not deep enough to hold a day's worth of pee so it overflows.

Second, the various layers do not hold together so when he steps on and off it, they all slide around.

Third, it smells so, so, so terrible. We take it out in the backyard and hose it down regularly, but even if you bring it in that morning, by the time I get home around 4, the entire room smells like a urinal.

Finally, the attractive grass-like top? He chews it. There are pieces of fake grass everywhere.

Premier Nite Lite Reflexite Nylon Collar Ring in Center

Premier Nite Lite Reflexite Nylon Collar in Purple, 1-Inch by 25-Inch, Ring in CenterIt's nice and sturdy and reflects light well. My only complaint is that it doesn't look like the picture. It is half blue and half bright orange.

Great collars. We could not find these in any of the local pet stores. We have been searching for months. Great price also.

I had high hopes for this collar, however just after 3 months it has faded and the reflective portion is cracked and peeling off.

PoochieBells The Trusted Name in Dog Training Doorbells in Classic Diva Dog Pink and Silver Design

PoochieBells The Trusted Name in Dog Training Doorbells in Classic Diva Dog Pink and Silver DesignSo, we have a 2 pound Maltese. She is scared to walk across the tile to the door, and even if she would scratch, we couldn't hear it. We bought this about a month ago. We started by taking her to the bells, and using her paw or her nose to get her to ring the bell. Then we'd say "Outside". After a while, we would just lead her to the bell (which is on the wall before the tile) and say "Ring the bell to go OUTSIDE". We emphasized the word outside. We would ring the bell, then tap the wall next to the bell until she nudged it with her nose. Then we started asking "Do you need to go outside?" And she would run to the bell and give it a nudge with her nose. Now, about 50% of the time, when she wants to go outside, even just to play, she gives it a little nudge with her nose. We can also get her to go outside by ringing the bell ourselves. She's still learning, but she definitely associates the bell with going out. You just need to be consistent and PATIENT! It won't happen overnight. Like I said, it's been a month for us, and we are still not all the way there, but we have high hopes. It takes different time for different dogs, just don't give up!

Our puppy learned how to ring the bells and no more accidents in the house. Well made and cute. She is such a diva

Just as advertised this product is a "workhorse." It is able to be used in pretty much any type of weather and for long durations of times. In combination with the add-a-dog product, this has product has worked great on several different hunting trips and with my own dogs as well as my buddies. Definitely recommend it to anyone serious about hunting, as advertised this product can be used with many different types of dogs.

We got this to replace our "trashbuster" collars (6 years old) who's rechargable batteries just wouldn't hold a charge any longer. We have 4 dogs. I wish I'd paid better attention when purchasing as there are only the 3 buttons, so you have to flip the tiny switch for the 4th dog. Makes getting the correction for the right dog difficult (in a timely manner) and then when you are in the wrong position the wrong dogs gets the correction which really is not a good training tool. Then when you have more than 3 dogs, you much chose EITHER tone or vibration to set the control. You can not use both interchangable. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST. The batteries need recharging very frequently, as least compared to our older unit. And the battery fails just when you need it most! I would not recommend this brand of e-collar.

D.T. Systems Inc. 1145 DT Mini No - Bark Trainer

D.T. Systems Inc. 1145 DT Mini No - Bark TrainerIt did not work... at all! It was listed on their own website as discontinued. Had to return it for refund.

Just bought 2 of these for my 2, rather loud, german shepherds. Both dogs barked alot. I noticed a big difference right away as the barking became more subdued and gradually tapering off to nothing. Now I hear an occasional bark then...silence! It took just 2 days!

The colar has 8 shock values, I chose the highest one right from the start.

I highly recommend this colar to anyone who wants to stop a barking problem. It works.

Great product, received the product quickly from Gulf Coast. My neighbors are the happiest of all!

I have tried several bark collars for my beagle and some of them worked ok. But this one has taken care of his barking. The other collars he would bark through the correction on the collar and I have only had to set the collar at level 4 to get him to stop. I also like that it doesn't give off corrections when he itches or shakes.

I purchased this product for a terrier-schnauzer mix (male) who is a great dog, he just barks way too much and once he gets started he will not stop. From day 1 this collar limited his barking to almost nothing! I follow the instructions and remove it for part of the day. I was also able to turn down the adjustable power of the shock to the lower settings after the first day. Easy to use, instructions are complete and informative. Plastic collar easy to keep clean.

Easy Walk Harness - Medium/Large, Deep Purple Tweener

Easy Walk Harness - Medium/Large, Deep Purple TweenerThis tween size is hard to find. It is perfect for golden retrievers. does what it is supposed to. If my 70lb dog wants to go in one direction, I can move hime into another. Easy to put on and take off.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do, and better than any other one I've ever used. I actually use it 2 ways. If I really need her to heel, like near the street, I use it like it's supposed to be worn, attaching in the front. If we're out in the woods and I want to give her a little more leeway, I actually connect it from behind, like a more traditional harness.

My only issue is that based on the recommendations, I bought solely based on girth. My problem was that even though it fit around her trunk, it was too small to fit behind her front legs the way the guide recommends. I went the next step up and even though I had to tighten the chest straps almost all the way, it fit her a lot better. Since it didn't fit as advertised, it "didn't meet the description" as Amazon calls it, I was able to get a full refund and get the larger size.

The harness is fine when dogs are walking calmly, but does nothing to help with pulling, especially for larger dogs (I have 2 60lb dogs). If they get excited about something on our walk and want to go after it, they can use their full strength to do so. Not good! I would not recommend the easy walk harness, unless it's for a smaller dog. I do love the gentle leader...much more effective for us!

This is a nice harness and the concept is good, but it didn't work for my golden puppy. She's a puller and while this did pull her to the side as described, it also got her tangled up in her leash too much. Seems like it would work best for a dog that refuses to walk, rather than a dog that pulls.

Want Easy Walk Harness - Medium/Large, Deep Purple Tweener Discount?

It takes some time and patience to get this harness adjusted jusst right, with multiple fittings; but it is well worth the effort and the process is only necessary once, unless the size of the dog changes. My dog, a very energetic Lab/Australian Shepherd mix, is young and tends to be easily distracted. She actually walks very nicely on a leash now, most of the time, but squirrels, kids, other dogs, etc., are sometimes too interesting. The Easy Walk harness works very well as a reminder, and my dog doesn't seem to mind it at all. I had been using a 'head collar' to train her, as this had worked well for two other dogs; and while it did work very well, my dog obviously didn't like it and often tried to rub it off, even after using it almost daily for a few months. A friend recommended the Easy Walk harness, and since the local pet store doesn't carry the 'tweener' sizes (medium would have just barely fit, and large was too large) I ordered one. I received the harness in perfect condition less than a week after ordering it.
