Sporn Pet Simple Control Hns Small Bk

Sporn Pet Simple Control Hns Small BkI originally purchased one of these harasses in a local store for my dog who, despite his normally docile disposition, hated bicycles. On walks he would pull against the leash so hard when a bike went by that he'd choke himself on his collar to the point of coughing. As a small, terrier mix I was concerned about him possibly crushing his trachea so I switched to this harness. It is very easy to put on and doesn't require lifting paws the neck loop slips over the dog's head and the belly strap unlatches on the side so that you can easily put it around their middle. Plus, it effectively reduced the strain on my dog's neck when those evil bikes passed by.

I came to Amazon to find one for my mother who has a Jack Russel terrier that loves her walks. Unfortunately, she loves her walks so much that she can't sit still while you put on a regular harness, making the process of putting excited paws through a harness very difficult. After trying my harness, my mother asked where she could get one. I couldn't find them locally in the store anymore and Amazon turned out to be the only reputable online retailer to carry it.

We're all (owners and pets) happy with our purchases.

For Two dogs Remote Control Dog Training Transmitter & Collar , 100 Level Shock and Vibration

For Two dogs Remote Control Dog Training Transmitter & Collar , 100 Level Shock and VibrationI like the features of the product, how easy they are to use, and how versatile the settings are. But, one of the receivers had to be adjusted so it would work. The collars when set up are lightweight, so my dog doesn't complain when I put it on him. The range is good, and the collar is effective. Overall a decent purchase that I don't regret, but if I replace them, I'll spend a bit more money.

PetSafe Ultrasonic Remote Trainer for Dogs and Cats, PUPT-100-19

PetSafe Ultrasonic Remote Trainer for Dogs and Cats, PUPT-100-19I have a miniature American Eskimo dog who hadn't been socialized well as a puppy and tended to be aggressive around strangers and other animals because of her own fear. We've worked hard to rehabilitate her and she's come a long way, but is so anxious that she still barks like crazy when a stranger appears, the kids downstairs are playing outside, the dogs next door bark, or when the doorbell rings (even on TV!). Once she goes into that "red zone," her eyes glaze over and it takes 20 minutes to calm her down. We bought this remote trainer in the hopes that it would stop the anxious barking.

Oh. My. Gosh. Her reaction was almost immediate! The next time she started barking, I hit the button once and she perked her ears up, stopped barking, and ran to me. I was shocked. We tested it again by ringing the doorbell, and this time it was one little yip, then she went and laid on her bed. (Wha?!?) It was amazing. I guess the noise distracts her enough to pull her out of that anxious mode and reroutes her brain so she doesn't work herself up. It even seems to work on the agression. When she growled at my husband because he sat on the couch next to me, I hit the button, she shook her head, then ran up and licked him. Wow! It's like a magic remote control, and we rarely even have to use it anymore. She's learned quickly what behavior we want, without yelling at her. Now we're focusing on curbing the aggression towards other dogs, and getting her to come when called, though I haven't had to use the remote yet. It's definitely progress! She's become visibly more loving and happy now that her mind doesn't put itself into that anxious cycle too often.

Now, that being said, I think this will only work for SOME dogs. My mom tried it on her Golden Retrievers and they just kept barking, ignoring the sound completely. I think it will work best for dogs who are especially sensitive to sounds, and from what I've heard, smaller dogs seem to be more of this type. So I'd suggest borrowing a friend's or getting the $10 "Bark-Off" at Bed, Bath and Beyond first to test out the idea of sound training. If your dog responds to it, then spring for this remote. I'd say it's definitely a great tool if your dog responds to sound!

I love this thing. I purchased mine through Petco in an attempt to correct my cat's bad behaviors. He would wake me up at 3 in the morning pawing on the blinds trying to get outside, claw at the furniture and occasionally become aggressive. One quick press of the button, even if I am in another room, causes him to instantly stop his annoying behaviors! This thing has definitely allowed me to get better sleep. A great device for cats with behavioral problems!

Buy PetSafe Ultrasonic Remote Trainer for Dogs and Cats, PUPT-100-19 Now

First off, it's a tool. You have to use it as part of your training. Otherwise it won't work. You can't expect it to change the dog's behavior right away. I made this mistake.

I have 2 dogs. A poodle and an aussie. My aussie really took to the device. She was very sensitive to the remote trainer. My poodle is very thick headed. He doesn't understand half of the things I try to teach him unless it involves food. So, it worked for the aussie, but not for the poodle. You just gotta find out what works best on your dog. You know if your dog is trainable or not.

As for what you hear, you can hear one tone, quietly and very high pitched. The other tone you can't hear at all. I can't remember which tone (positive/negative) was which, tho. It also takes a 9 volt battery.

My dog definitely heard the remote she would stop for a very brief second, look at the remote with her ears perked up, then go about whatever it was she had been doing. It did nothing to discourage negative behavior.

I bought this product at a local Petco, hoping it would shut up the horrible barking dogs our neighbors refuse to control. I brought it home and pointed it first at my own two dogs. One dog (at a distance of only about 5 feet) had no reaction at all; the other dog just perked up his ears and then went about his business. Outside, the neighbor dogs didn't even respond to it (not even a flick of the ears) and our dogs just ignored it totally.

Our cat, however, FREAKED OUT and clearly heard the noise.

Great for cats, very, very ineffective for dogs (at least the four I tested it on).

Don't waste your money.

Gentle Leader Quick Release Headcollar: Medium, Black

Gentle Leader Quick Release Headcollar: Medium, BlackBought this product because I couldn't find a Halti on amazon for the right price. After I got it we tried it a few times with the dog, adjusting different things, and it kept slipping up her face and across her eyes. Not nearly as good as the Halti.

Unfortunately since it had been two weeks, the amazon seller wouldn't take it back. I was very disappointed with that and probably would keep me from purchasing from that seller again.

Save yourself some headache and get a Halti.

Exclusively Pet Best Buddy Bits

Exclusively Pet Best Buddy Bits-Beef and Liver Flavor, 12-Ounce PackageI ordered these to help in the training of my two dogs. They are great because they are small and they dissolve shortly after the dogs get them in their mouths. No waiting for them to chew during training. They were exactly what I wanted, and ordered, and were shipped out right away. I had them within a few days of placing the order. I would order from them again.

Until recently I was purchasing these snacks at my local Pet Supermarket. They no longer carry them so I went to Amazon.com. The reason they are perfect for my two dogs ( a Lab and a Chow mix) is not the size obviously but because I have a dog toy that is one of those toys that you pull out the center and fill the different layers inside with treats. After putting the center piece back in you shake it around and the dog has to learn to push it with his nose or paws to get the treats to lay just right to fall out. Well my Lab learned in one day and just loves this toy. The ONLY treats that I have found that fit are this brand and he loves all the flavors but especially the cheese flavor and the yogurt brand. There are quite a lot in one bag and reasonably priced. Yes, I will buy more!

I have small dogs that love treats but the grocery store sells much larger treats and I don't want my dogs to gain weight so these are perfect. Funny thing about dogs...they are just happy to get a treat and don't seem to care how big it is!

Arctic Paws 4-Ounce Salmon & Bacon Flavor Soft & Chewy Yummy ChummiesMy dog loves these soft moist treats. However, The treats arrived hard, dried out and expired. Amazon quickly replaced them, however the replacements were also hard and dried out and ranged from expired to 2 weeks from expiry.

I am still buying these treats for my dog, but not from Amazon.

My GSD actually enjoys these quite a bit. They arrived in perfect condition, moist but not crumbled. We use them as training treats. They are the perfect size and make a nice different tasting treat.

My dog, who has been known to snub an average dog biscuit, loved these! Nice to know they're good for him too. I think the Amazon price is a little high though -I noticed you can get them from PetCo in the store for cheaper, although they only carry the original flavor.

Scatstrip Automatic Indoor Pet Training Mat 46" x 3"

Scatstrip Automatic Indoor Pet Training Mat 46' x 3'The dog does not appear to have gotten on the counter. I don't know if she got zapped or not. The wife and grand son both did. Use with care, the grandson is too young to know what happened but the spouse just gets angry at you.

The description notes that this isn't for doorways, but we bought it to put in front of a sliding closet door that the cats put their paws under in the night and rattle to get our attention. It has worked wonders! I highly recommend it for a good night's sleep.

This is a great tool to teach your animals not to enter a place for their safety. A gentle shock, like when you rub your feet on the carpet and get a shock as you touch someone. My cat knew when I put it up across the tv (where he always jumped up). He jumped up and jumped off immediately and never did it again. He stretches to touch it with his paws to check it out, but he never jumps up! It is wonderful. Love this product.

Pooch Pads - X Large

Pooch Pads - X LargeI love Pooch pads. It is great to be able to use the product over and over again but the down side is that after the 2nd wash the thread around the edges unraveled. If you can't wash them and they hold together, they are not worth much. This was the second batch I purchased and the first is still doing very well. So I guess it can go either way. I don't think I would purchase unless I owned a sewing machine.

Lava Electronics SP208 QPets 4 in 1 Remote Training Collar with LCD Display for Small/Medium Dogs

Lava Electronics SP208 QPets 4 in 1 Remote Training Collar with LCD Display for Small/Medium DogsI have a 11 Months German Shepherd. He is very naughty. I have bought other cheaper brand new remote training collar for training him. There product was not effective. He can ignore the shock and the vibration, until I found this product. it has 100 levels shock. It is good enough for him learn. I usually give him a warning by the sound function before I shock him. now when he hear the Beep. He will be very good and lie down where he is.

This unit has the features you need to call, remind, and discipline (if necessary) your large breed dog. I have found that my 100 pound lab requires very minimal disciplining through the use of the shock feature. I use this mostly as a calling devise, using the chime feature, as I live where my dogs can roam freely up to 800 feet from home. Battery life for the collar (AAA Batteries) when worn all the time is about 8 days. The transmitter with the A type batteries, will last in excess of a month. No issues with water damage when worn in the snow, but would not recommend this for submersion, such as swimming activities. Vibrate feature works very well to get my labs attention when he decides to ignore the chime.

This collar not only works well, it's one she actually likes! When I took it off to change the batteries, she actually was fighting me for it! Nothing violent or anything. She wanted it back on!!! It really was cute!!! Once the batteries were changed and the collar back on, she settled right back down and was parading around the family room, showing it off like a new hat! I love the results! She's still having some issues, but this definately makes our lives a lot easier!

Cloud Star Soft and Chewy Buddy Biscuits, Duck Flavor, 6-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 4)

Cloud Star Soft and Chewy Buddy Biscuits, Duck Flavor, 6-Ounce PouchesMy 10-year old pug loves Buddy Biscuits. He is allergic to most products that contain chicken. The duck flavor is his favorite. The price is good, as this is for a pack of 4. The biscuits are really soft, but do have a strong odor. I recommend storing biscuits in a plastic container or glass jar to keep fresh and eliminate the odor.

I love the fact that they are moist and soft, easily broken into even smaller nibbles (intact they are about as tall as a quarter, but not so wide), so the dogs can get a tasty morsel without eating a whole treat, and tiny dogs can enjoy them too. When I open the treat bag at the dog park all the dogs come running. The gingerbread man style shape is very cute though obviously the dogs don't care. The duck flavor is very hard to find locally. Amazon's prices are very reasonable and I'm glad not to have to chase these down. Cloud Star also makes crunchy treats that resemble these as well. My dog and her friends love all of them.

Oh, and unlike cutting up Red Barn or Natural Balance sausage rolls for treats (which are wonderful too), these guys don't spoil after a day or two. They are shelf stable. Very handy to keep in the car.

These treats are great for stuffing into toys or to use for training. My dog really likes this brand of treats.

Want Cloud Star Soft and Chewy Buddy Biscuits, Duck Flavor, 6-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 4) Discount?

I have a dog who barks a lot and we have been training him not to bark as much by using the "Quiet" command and giving him a treat every time he is quiet (first we conditioned him before he barked by saying "quiet and giving him a treat every time we said that word now when we say that word he immediately stops whatever he is doing and looks for a treat).

Treats we have used in the past were good but because they were dry, they weren't as stinky and didn't get his attention during one of his barking rants. These treats are soo stinky and my dog loves them!

I love them because they are easy to break up into 10+ pieces for training since they are soft. Also, compared to most other snacks they are healthy with duck meat being the first ingredient. Although I wouldn't consider these treats to be the healthiest you can get, they are certainly not the unhealthiest. We use the duck flavor because my dog has diarrhea when he has chicken, beef, or salmon and these work well for him.

Simple Solution Disposable Liners Heavy Absorbency, 10-Pack

Simple Solution Disposable Liners Heavy Absorbency, 10-PackSimple Solutions makes the (very useful) Male Wrap product that these are supposedly for, so it's unbelievable that these pads are so useless. I thought these would be large flat pads that fit the wrap; instead, these pads are just really cheap maxi pads that cover maybe a third of the "catch" area. For the same price you can get a much bigger pack of human incontinence pads, and they work a lot better.

If these pads totally covered the catch area, were a little thinner, were made with better quality (more absorbent) material, and cost about half as much, they'd be a winner. As it is, I have no idea what Simple Solutions was thinking putting this out.

I have a large lab mix and these pads are not even a quarter of the size I wanted. If you have a "large" dog, you are better of buying the largest pads made for bladder control.

Buy Simple Solution Disposable Liners Heavy Absorbency, 10-Pack Now

Just go to the store and buy a bag of generic, thick maxi-pads because that's all these are.

I have to rate this HIGHLY since it is simply the "Always" panty liners for women, they just put a DOG on the front and called them Diaper Liners. There is one BIG difference here, it's MONEY. You can save yourself half by purchasing "Always" instead of the Dog Diaper Liners. Because you are buying a specialty item (and most pet products cost more) you will pay more. So the choice is yours, Pay $7.00 for "Always" or $14.00 for "Dog Diaper Liner" since the only difference is the price.

These are identical to women's maxi-pads but cost 3x as much. You'll save money if you simply buy an economy box of maxi-pads at your local store -a truly simple solution.

The Company Of Animals Pet Corrector

The Company Of Animals Pet CorrectorThe theory is that since dogs are inherently afraid of snakes, a simulated snake hiss should startle them enough to stop their nuisance barking. When they stop barking, praise them verbally or treatly. Eventually the barking should be under control.

Our two dogs bark quite a bit, alterting us to every pedestrian, truck, or motorcycle that passes in front of our house. It's such a problem that I decided to try the Pet Corrector though I had my misgivings. Now that I've gone through most of a can, it's time for my evaluative review.

Press the can's top and air escapes making a hissing noise like escaping air does. It does remotely resemble a snake hiss and may fool a dog. When I spray the can about a foot from our dogs' heads, they do stop barking for a few seconds, enough time to distract them and then praise for not barking.

Eventually they learn to recognize the red can and sometimes even get quiet at the sight of it.

The verdict?

Barking has diminished some in frequency and duration. The same triggers stimulate barking, so it's still an ongoing problem. Rather than buy another can of Pet Corrector, I'll revert back to using compressed air which I started using while waiting for the Pet Corrector to arrive in the mail. For us, the can of compressed air works almost as well as the Pet Corrector and costs a lot less. I can even use the can to clean my keyboard when the girls aren't barking.

Good luck with your barking dog or dogs. For some, the electric collar works well, but I've seen it in action and don't want to put something like that on our girls. I'd rather put up with the barking.

Pet Corrector is a great product. It works great on my two chihuahuas who tend to bark at everything. I have ordered it several times and will continue to do so. Just one little burst of air and they quiet down until the next time.

Buy The Company Of Animals Pet Corrector Now

We have two miniature dachshunds who love my non-dog-lover husband too much. They especially love to dart from nowhere to lick his barefeet. It would be funny if it didn't bother him to the extreme. I bought a bottle of Pet Corrector at a local pet store and gave it to him. It was amazing! The poor dogs ran into the other room. They did not like the noise at all. Now my husband just has to carry the bottle around with him and they avoid him.

But it also gets their attention very quickly when they're barking or doing something they know they shouldn't be. So, for us, it worked miraculously. I just feel like it is over priced.

I have two rather large dogs (65 lbs. each) who are great watch dogs but go absolutely uncontrollable when someone comes to our door. They stand up on their back legs and lunge at the windows beside the door. They have actually broken out the glass. Nothing worked until I saw the "Pet Corrector" on the internet and I ordered two. After a couple of corrections with the "Pet Corrector", all I have to do now is show them the can and they quit the bad behavior. I use it not only for this problem but when they jump up on us and anyone else who comes to visit. Because of their size, they can easily knock us down. I point the can down beside me and press the buttom for one short blast of air and it doesn't even come close to them. The noise gets their attention and refocuses it. I had tried several things but nothing worked. I highly recommend this product it works! I just ordered two more cans.

Steel Coated Dog Collar in Teal

Platinum Pets 22-Inch by 4mm Steel Coated Dog Collar, TealThis is just a superb collar at an excellent price point. For training I will always prefer a martingale collar and haven't worked with a choke collar in tht regard in years. However chokes have their value and these are excellent.

The links are huge 4mm so they look great around my bulldogs necks, they're like line backers we have a six year old and an eleven month old puppy. The collar is well made, the links are beautifully even and well finished. Most important the glide of the mechanism is smooth and effortless and releases immediatley.

As for the color it pops like crazy! it's just gorgeous against Elvis's (the puppy) snow white coat but the 26 inch is a bit to long for him so we'll either remove a few links or wait until he growns into it, which atthis rate shouldn't take long. We ordered another one of these collars in black for our oldest "Harley" and it's equally well made and stunning in every way.

These are wonderfully made collars available in a wide assortment of fun and unique colors. The plating by the way is excellent, no chips, cracks or unfinished links. Just terrific collars at a great price. If you have a Prime membership you'll get free two day shipping to boot!

The collar is an awesome teal blue a very beach-like color very cool looking with my dog's auburn coloring. I received it quickly and on time.

Buy Steel Coated Dog Collar in Teal Now

Nice product but these run small. I recommend buying the next larger size and remove links if needed. It is also important for people to use these collars properly. They should be used as high up on the neck as possible, NOT down where a regular collar would typically sit. This will assure you are not choking your dog or damaging their larynx. It matters how you put them on. If you walk with your dog on your left, hold the collar and attached leash so it makes a letter "P" not a letter "Q" as you face your dog. Putting the collar on properly will insure that it releases and loosens when you ease up. The collars really should not be called "choke" collars. They only choke when misused. A dog should NEVER be tied up to a choke collar, even if you are just going in somewhere for a minute. They should only be used with a leash, and only by people who know how to use them. It should just barely fit over your dogs head without hurting on the way on. If it is too small it will go on but be very hard to take off and may hurt your dog's ears on the way off. Remember this is not a device to help you win a tug of war with your dog. It is a device to alert your dog that you do not like what she is doing or about to do. It should be used with a quick tug and release to the side. It is to interrupt their thought process or fixation. For example as you approach a dog coming towards you and your dog is going into an excited or fixated state, give a quick tug towards you to get have your dog focus on you and not the approaching dog. Or if your dog is constantly dropping her head to sniff at everything, especially food scraps you should give a gentle correction as she BEGINS to drop her head. These are great devices to train dogs to know when it is time to "Walk" and when it is okay to sniff or do their "business."
