I did not buy this collar from Amazon. I bought it from my local store and paid almost twice what it's for sale on here for. So of course I wish I had checked here first. But thanks to this collar my dog never barks. I didn't want to shock my dog and the citronella collars are too expensive. I was kinda weary because it is almost 1/3rd the price of the competition. I tried it by barking into it myself and just felt a vibration from the collar. I put it on my border collie and she barked once at my cat and she immediately stopped. She tried a few more times and stopped after the first time. Now I only have to show her the collar if she starts to bark and she stops.

It works, but I have more than one dog. It's only the one barks excessively, so I bought this collar for him. The only problem is that when they wrestle, or if one of the other dog barks, it shocks the dog with the bark collar on. I wish it worked more on vocal cord vibrations than on random noises. I could clap my hands, and it would shock the dog. That doesn't work for me.

Mailed to me promptly but first did not work. I just ignored it and over a week later, I was at Lowes for something else when I saw the battery and got one. And since then it worked perfectly.

Mr recommendation to the seller is to try mailing it out with a new battery so that buyers dont go buying battery after purchasing the product.

This is a great, well made leash. The length has been ideal for me (and very hard to find). It's long enough that I don't feel like I'm going to land on my dog if I trip during a hike, but short enough that I can easily wind it up and keep her close when necessary.

My only complaint is the clip is oddly large and heavier than most I've seen. It seems to smack her while we're running a more than normal and I wouldn't recommend this for a dog much under 30lbs.

I had high hopes for a product that would keep my dog from grabbing things on counters, table tops, etc. The vet recommended this product as a way to correct the dog, without the dog seeing you as the source of the correction. That way the effect would not depend on your being present to stop the undesired action.

The Scraminal was totally ineffective for this purpose. To point out a few problems:

1) This device emits a LOUD audible signal enough to really bother human ears, but it didn't really have any effect on my dog.

2) There's no way to set Scraminal up "secretly". As soon as you turn Scraminal on, it starts screeching because you are too close to it. The dog immediately knows that you are the one responsible for the correction.

3) It covers too wide an area. If I set it up on the kitchen counter, for example, it detects motion and screeches whenever anyone enters the kitchen not very practical.

4) Maybe some animals would be frightened of the noise and stop the undersirable behavior, but certainly not all. My dog grabs the Scraminal and runs around with it in his mouth. All the while, the thing is making its horrible noise. I guess it's a pretty fun toy for him! But as a training device, I rate it a waste of money.

The Scraminal has been a greatly needed deterrent for our dogs who would NOT stay out of windows ! We only have to say the word scraminal and it turns them away from their direction of the windows. Occassionally we have to actually turn it on to "remind" them of the very loud audible noise it emits. We do not keep it on all the time at all, due to it going off when cats go near it. Still going strong with it though ! Actually decided to leave a review because I am gonna buy a couple more for outside and saw the negative review. NOTHING before this worked ! Our one particular dog has an aggressive nature to protect the house, the other just follows suit. We actually can use it for more than just the window. Just say the word, and they stop ! We turn it on when we are not home, also. Smart dogs! So for anyone that nothing else has worked, give it a try ! It has given us sanity again. Keeping the dogs more sane also !

I can't give this thing a high enough rating.

We have a puppy, and some time shortly after we got her she concluded that the reason our living room has corners is so that you have somewhere you can poop when you can't find Mommy or Daddy and get them to let you outside. Or when you don't want to find Mommy or Daddy. Or when it's Tuesday.

And we tried everything, I swear. My wife and I both have some experience training dogs, and we did a lot of the usual stuff, both positive and negative reinforcement, but we just couldn't shake her of her living-room-is-for-pooping habit. She's a well-trained dog, actually, and today she's an AKC-Certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC), but back over the summer we just couldn't shake her of her bad habit.

Finally, in a fit of frustration after having spent hundreds of dollars on cleaners, I bought a few different beepers on Amazon all at the same time. I tried each one for a few days. And this is the one that worked -and it worked on the very first day.

For the record, this didn't do much to deter our cats (one cat just flat-out ignored it, and the other concluded that she had to run very fast past it to avoid it "seeing" her -and, of course, it beeped at her every time). If you're buying this to keep your cats away from things, best of luck to you. I've debated trying to use it to keep our cats out of the kitchen sink at night, but I'm pretty sure it would have no real effect on them.

But with our dog -now that's a whole different story. On the very first day it scared her away from the living room. By the end of a week, she had learned exactly where it was protecting, and she had learned not to cross that line. By the end of a month, we turned it off, because we hadn't needed it for quite some time.

For the record, this gizmo does not beep: It screeches like your house is being stolen. That's great if you want to keep pets out of a room, and believe me, it works -but not so much when you're trying to sleep. So if there's one bad thing I can say about this, it's that cats + Scraminal + 3 AM = a very bad night's sleep. And I'd be careful of using this in an apartment where you have thin walls.

Still, the thirty bucks I spent on this little gizmo managed to beat out hundreds of dollars I spent on cleaning and hundreds more for dog training. We were looking to buy a major multi-year investment in the Nature's Miracle Pet Cleaner company before I bought the Scraminal, and now I can't even remember the last time I scrubbed the carpet.

As I write this posting, the Scraminal is out of stock, which is sad, because it's worth its weight in gold. If you have a dog, and this comes back into stock, buy one. Seriously. Do it before it's sold out again. And, for the record, no, I won't sell you mine.

Bought it to keep the cat off the counter almost 5 years ago. It worked great at that time...actually was able to put it away after about 6 months. Got it out a month or two ago since a new kitten won't stay off the counter...and it still works great. The dog hates the high pitch screeching, so I can see how it would work great for dogs too. I'm very pleased with this item. Works just as advertised and is made out of high quality material.

The only reason I didn't give this item 5 stars is because it should come with instructions on how to properly use the collar preferably a DVD like the halti-harnesses come with. A prong collar should not inflict pain, choke the dog, and MUST be fitted properly before using it. This is not a collar you slip over the dogs head and expect to work well. First of all, if you can slip this collar over your dogs head, you are causing harm to your dog as it is fit too loose, making this collar a dangerous device. Nearly everyone who purchases this collar will need to remove at least a few links so that it will fit correctly. When fit properly and used properly, this can be a wonderful device for both dog and person.

PLEASE, I'm begging you if you decide to purchase a prong collar, be it this one or any other collar, find a trainer to show you how to properly use it or at the very least, go to Youtube and type in "how to properly fit a prong collar" as there are some decent instructional videos out there. If you don't know what you're doing, you will hurt your dog and potentially make whatever behavior you want to fix even worse. For both you and your dogs sake, PLEASE educate yourself before using one of these!

If this product came with better instructions or a DVD on how to properly use it, I would have given this 5 stars.

Works very well. All I would use on a larger breed. Choke collars just won't do on a strong dog, the dog can pull and if you're constantly pulling thats a problem. This IS NOT cruel, you don't need to pull very hard to get the dog's attention immediately. Once this goes on, a stubborn dog will realize it's a different ballgame and the pulling will cease. They may protest at first as they are certainly disappointed. My dog doesn't mind it at all. I leave it on in the house with a tab so I can correct him if need be whenver necessary. He is very headstrong. A must in my opinion. This brand also is the best. Pet store brands are cheap. Stay away from them. The links CAN come loose, if this happening you just need to bend the links back into a position where they will not become unhinged. This can happen over a bit of time but it isn't hard to solve and keep it moving along and it does not happen except very rarely.. a couple times with my current collar which I've had for 3 years.

I've used this collar on my German Shepherd puppy since she was about 3 months old. She's 7-month old now and weighs about 55 lbs. It has worked great -she never pulls on the leash. If she wanders around, a little tug brings her right back. This is a high-quality collar made from stainless steel, and I've never had it come loose. Make sure to use the right number of links. Some uninformed people think this kind of collar would induce pain on the dog. It obviously doesn't because my puppy is never afraid of it. It's probably even more comfortable than conventional collars. I highly recommend it.

We bought this for our Brittany, Coco who is a rescue dog who had never walked on a leash before we got her. We have tried everything to train her. Much as we dislike using a pinch collar, it is the only way we can walk her without ending up with severe shoulder pain. Havahart Wireless Dog Fence Systems Replacement Battery Cap

The caps that I received are not like the picture at all. There is no protruding handle like shown. Instead I have to use a screwdriver to turn the cap to secure it on and off. Very inconveinient. The true Havahart replacement caps are like the picture shown. These are definitely generic caps. They do fit the collar and stay secured to the battery compartment.

My dog's collar wasn't working for some reason, and the most plausible reason was the cap, it does wear out after about 6 months, but thankfully the replacement is fairly inexpensive. The collar started working again right away,

no more finger tab on the cap to get twisted accidently & lost but you lose the ability to remove with out tools at least my fingers need a screwdriver I still tape over it just in case I wish the original design was like this would have saved some frustration

The caps we received are "flush" fitting and do not have the "ears" that stick out to twist them in or out with. They are NOT just like the picture on the website! It is very hard to get them on or off the collar, and we often have to resort to using needle nosed pliers to get the collar open and replace batteries!

I would not buy these again online I definitely would want to see them in my hand before I paid for them!

Genuine Leather Braided Dog Collar 11"-14" Neck, 7/8" Wide, Orange

This leather collar is functional, but the metal itself seems a bit flimsy. The leather itself I like though, and I will use it, I just don't expect it to last very long.

Large Soft Claws for Dogs (Natural, 12mm x 7mm)

I have tried these recently after moving into a house with brand new wood flooring and two dogs. I thought that the soft paws would be the answer to easily keeping my floors looking new for years to come, but after using them for 3 months now I've given up. They are just way more trouble than they are worth.

In theory, it's a great concept. Soft little caps over the nails protect the floor. In reality, they are a hassle. I will say, they'll likely work well for you if you have an inactive indoor dog. They apply fairly easily, but getting the right amount of glue on is rather difficult. If you don't use enough, they'll fall off quickly. If you use too much, they'll never come off and glue will squeeze out the top and glue the dog's hair to the cap (tip: they hate this).

My two dogs are reasonably active, we go for several walks a day with a little on pavement (but mostly on grass). The big problem I've found is that for my dogs, the caps tend to wear through before they fall off. Either that, or they fall off and the dogs scamper around the floor before I notice. My dogs also love to chew at them which doesn't help (bitter spray did not deter them).

So basically, my floors still got scratched up somewhat because the cap would wear away exposing the nail, or the cap would fall off. Because the nails have to be long for these to adhere, when this happens there is a sharp long nail waiting to dig into your floor. In order to combat this I had to inspect their nails multiple times a day which was just a royal pain.

I'm also concerned about whether these are good for the dogs nails. When applied, they tend to make the nail longer and will contact the floor. I think this puts more stress on the dogs nails and isn't as comfortable for them as having the nails trimmed short. Also, when I removed them one of my dogs nails didn't seem to be in very good shape. Some of the nail I could actually peel away with my hands, and when I clipped her nails some sort of semi-soft material oozed out. I'm not an expert, but that doesn't seem like a good thing.

In short, they do work well but I think they are too high maintenance. If you have a passive indoor dog so that wear won't be much of an issue, they may work well. I'd recommend getting a color so you can easily tell if one is missing however. I've decided instead that the cost and hassle isn't worth it and I've ordered a dremel to start filing nails down smooth. With a combination of short nails that are smoothed over, the floors will be fairly well protected and the dogs should be much happier.

10-Foot Open Tunnel

My puppy and I have been loving this tunnel for about two weeks. I set it up on the backyard patio so my pup can run thru it as we train. Its only been about 2 weeks, but the fabric that encases the wire hoop is quickly decomposing the wire is exposed. This is not on the inside due to the dog, its the outside apparently due to the elements. Sure you would think this would break down after spending maybe a full hot summer in the sun, but 2 weeks during fairly mild weather on a dry surface? You would think this material would be more resilient for outdoor use.

Freedom Training Dog Harness-M(1IN)-BLACK

Cannot say enough good about this. The Gentle Leader nose harness had worked for ALL of my dogs before my current young one. Nothing worked for his excessive pulling, and we were in training classes from the time he was 12 weeks old.

Finally, I saw this harness in a new training class and decided to try it. The difference was the harness hooking in the front, putting pressure on the breast plate to "stop" the pulling. And I used the double hook leash (shorter version) to keep the dog closer to me and to have more leverage.

It was not a miracle of perfect walking, but it really helped with control and practice.

I have machine washed the harness (in a lingerie bag) several times, line dry. The velvet lining is one of my favorite parts on the construction; it does not break my dog's hard coat and appears comfortable on him.

I bought a second harness for my older dog who walks well on a leash because of the quality and comfort of the product. It takes some practice to learn how to put in on and off quickly, but that's a small price to pay for such a great product.

The Company Of Animals Pet Corrector

The theory is that since dogs are inherently afraid of snakes, a simulated snake hiss should startle them enough to stop their nuisance barking. When they stop barking, praise them verbally or treatly. Eventually the barking should be under control.

Our two dogs bark quite a bit, alterting us to every pedestrian, truck, or motorcycle that passes in front of our house. It's such a problem that I decided to try the Pet Corrector though I had my misgivings. Now that I've gone through most of a can, it's time for my evaluative review.

Press the can's top and air escapes making a hissing noise like escaping air does. It does remotely resemble a snake hiss and may fool a dog. When I spray the can about a foot from our dogs' heads, they do stop barking for a few seconds, enough time to distract them and then praise for not barking.

Eventually they learn to recognize the red can and sometimes even get quiet at the sight of it.

The verdict?

Barking has diminished some in frequency and duration. The same triggers stimulate barking, so it's still an ongoing problem. Rather than buy another can of Pet Corrector, I'll revert back to using compressed air which I started using while waiting for the Pet Corrector to arrive in the mail. For us, the can of compressed air works almost as well as the Pet Corrector and costs a lot less. I can even use the can to clean my keyboard when the girls aren't barking.

Good luck with your barking dog or dogs. For some, the electric collar works well, but I've seen it in action and don't want to put something like that on our girls. I'd rather put up with the barking.

Pet Corrector is a great product. It works great on my two chihuahuas who tend to bark at everything. I have ordered it several times and will continue to do so. Just one little burst of air and they quiet down until the next time.

We have two miniature dachshunds who love my non-dog-lover husband too much. They especially love to dart from nowhere to lick his barefeet. It would be funny if it didn't bother him to the extreme. I have two rather large dogs (65 lbs. each) who are great watch dogs but go absolutely uncontrollable when someone comes to our door.
