Venture Series Additional Training Collar

This is an upgraded, and downsized Yard and Park collar. I use it on my clients dogs ,and it works ok.I use about three collars a month.

The recharge pins are very small! and the second time I tried to plug it in, no go, use a tweezers to fix.

I like the yard and park becuase I can hear the tone button, on this collar only the dog can hear it.These are line of sight collars, if the dog has his butt to you the collar does not get the signal, I want to be sure I have called the dog with sound before I punish. so I miss the noisy button.

The on /off button is touchy, a client and I spent 15 mins trying to get the collar on, again a cheap collar.

My old yard and parks re bigger, heavier and out of date, but the clients like the big on /off, sound and the roll dial. If the yard and park comes back down to $150, its the better collar for a dog over 20 lbs.

Under 20 lbs , thi is s a lighter collar.

This collar charges in 4 hours, YP in 7-8. Do not over charge the collar! or the handset!

I was told by the sales clerk that the reviews werent that great for this product, but I went ahead and got it anyway knowing that I could give it back if it sucked.

But it was exactly what I was looking for. I had been training my dogs best I can, but sometimes they just needed a nudge for them to pay attention to me. & this is exactly that.

Your dog should already be familiar with the commands, this just enforces it, when you aren't close enough to do it yourself.

Now I can take them on walks in the neighborhood, without leashes, their happy, I'm happy.

About the battery life: they last pretty long, I think it's been 2-3 weeks since I last charged the collars, thats with daily usage couple times a day. Now I'm pretty good about turning them off when not in use. I wish that the collars didnt have to be manually shut on & off, but maybe their future products will have that feature.

The add on collar is great, the remote is setup to have 1 side for 1 dog, and other side for other dog.

Great product, worth the money esp since the alternative was obedience school which is way more expensive.

This works very well. I have a dog that barks at people and dogs and run to them. He also gets nervous and barks in the car. I used this collar to train him (make sure to use it correctly zap your dog when he doesn't listen to you, not when he does something he is not supposed to do) and worked immediately. He was smart to listen to me whenever he has his collar on (and when he knows it's on!), but soon he figured out how to sort of turn it off..He started shaking his neck so that the it doesn't touch his skin properly. Once he shakes his neck, it doesn't work any more. If you have a smart dog, you need to be smarter than your dog.

I really love the PetSafe brand collars. I had some trouble keeping the collar on, at first. It did finally start to work right and I've had no problems with it since.

This is the 3rd or 4th Midwest crate I've ordered and and they are all wonderful. I have several sizes and really love the crates with the side and end doors. You have more options in placement of the crate. The divider panel really comes in handy when I'm potty training, too. With four dogs of all shapes and sizes--Great Pyreenes down to a Maltese--I highly recommend any crates by Midwest. They are perfect for training. My dogs love them and use them every night. They also like them when it's thundering and lightning. After their last night potty outside, they crowd around their crates and can't wait for me to open them up so they can bed down for the night. (Doesn't help that they each have 2-3 treats waiiting for them inside.)

We just got a 7 week old mini doxie puppy and bought this crate both as a housebreaking tool and a "bedroom". The fact that it has a divider screen makes it perfect for both. You can make the crate smaller for a young puppy to discourage eliminating in the cage and yet you don't need to buy a new crate when he is full grown. You just take the divider out. It is a very sturdy pen for the money, yet portable because it folds flat. I know I sound like an ad but I am just saying that all the things the company says about it are true.

Got this to travel with Great Dane puppy. Set up and broke down very easily, especially considering my all thumbs approach to such items. Could easily be carried by one adult to the car. Did not attempt to use it along the way remained folded during trip. But set up very nicely at the destination. I used the second largest and, at 4.5 months, the dog still sees it as home and stays all night with minimum complaint. My only surprise was that, in its folded state and as compact as it is, it still takes considerable space in our crossover vehicle to accommodate. We ended up standing it up and bungying to the side of the cargo compartment.

This was easy to setup and the double door configuration makes it easy to place as well. I would recommend this to anyone with a larger dog. We have a 70 pound German Shepherd puppy and he still has room to grow before filling this up.

My husband and I recently adopted a 3 yr old Bullmastiff from a local animal shelter unbeknownst to us, she has separation anxiety! While this crate is easy to assemble/disassemble, it did not stand up well in her attempts to escape. Within an hour she had started bending the frame near the door; within a few hours, her paws were sticking out of the 6" opening she had made. My hubby was able to bend it back into place (more or less), but we have since purchased a heavy duty crate to safely contain her while we're away. Red Dingo Dog Lead, Small, Orange

I was attracted to these leads for their good quality nylon. They are supple and oh so strong. The second attraction was the big choice of colors. When you have a few dogs like I do, individual lead/collar by colors become important.

After using these leads/collars for several months, they have yet to fail me.

A negative point about the design is when several leads are held together, they tend to knot easily at the loop end. I think the problem lies in the change of material, when the lead ends with nylon & the handlers loop, of a much softer material.

Small Soft Claws for Dogs (Natural, 9mm x 5mm)

The problem with these "training treats" are that you can't use them frequently due to the dog getting tired of the (probably bland) flavor. They worked for a couple of hours and then my dog just lost interest. They are too expensive to consider buying again, especially since my dog doesn't go crazy for them. For a training treat to be effective, it needs to really entice your dog. I have taken to chopping these Natural Balance Dog Food, Turkey Formula, 4 Pound Roll up into small pieces; they are much more cost-effective and my dog scarfs them down.

LF 3.1 Dog Treadmill

I've had the dogPacer for a few weeks now. Overall, its a great product for the price as compared to other dog land treadmills. My only complaint is that I have large, powerful working dogs (Rottweilers) and when you increase the speed to get them to a trot (above 4.5 mph), the treadmill is not as solid as I would like. It definitely bounces and moves underneath the dog. Thankfully, my dogs have no issues with motion sensitivity, but if I had a dog that did, I would want it to be much more stable. Before I bought it, I emailed the DogPACER folks themselves to inquire about this, and they said it wouldn't be a problem they have had much larger dogs on it than mine. My dogs aren't the heaviest dogs out there, but they have a lot of power in their trot.

My one other issue with the product is the metal hooks on the overhead bar, that are used to keep the side panels in place. I have had two of my dogs get their collars hooked in them when trying to manuever on/around the treadmill.

But I love the four degrees of incline, the length of the tread, the easy set up/install, the variations in speed that are available, and the price.

The ones I bought from Lowes worked perfectly.

My wife, myself, and our dog MOSES trust these batteries to keep him safe. They are overly expensive and that does not make sense with the low price of other batteries and that is why only 4 stars. We conserve by removing the batteries when we take off his collar at night and he is inside. When the batteries are in, the unit is in the ON mode and the they are constantly draining power just like a cell phone charger regardless of whether or not there is a shock, so we just remove them when not in use and they last much longer. Of course if he sees a rabbit then he goes brain numb and no battery will stop him.

We have five dogs and three bark collars which use these batteries. I have never purchased from Amazon but from several different local stores and more than half the time the batteries are dead when I open the package or very soon after the are installed. The fault is with the manufacturer or their supply chain, not with Amazon. We also have a Trainwell collar which uses different batteries and have never had any trouble with those.

We bought this collar for our animal shelter rescued American Eskimo who barked ALL THE TIME. By barked all the time, I mean he barked and kept barking for 10 minutes or more. He barked at us, he barked at the other dogs, he barked at the cats, he barked at any noises inside or outside, he barked whenever someone walked in the door, he barked while he played and he barked in his kennel. The worst part was when he would start barking at 4 in the morning and not stop till we let him out at 8. For two months we tried everything we could think of, and everything a certified trainer could think of... with absolutely no luck.

The day I got it I rubbed in against a hard surface and touched the tips. I did that several times (to get it to go up as high as I could). It startles you a lot; it really doesn't hurt, even all the way up. If you do that yourself, remember to take out the battery so that it will reset down to the lowest shock level. It takes a couple of hours to reset itself back down, and taking the battery out and then putting it back in will restart it.

The first day I put it on my dog he barked up to the 3rd or 4th setting before he gave a yelp and stopped barking. It was the kind of yelp he does when he is rough housing with the other dogs; the yelp that says "okay, you win, I give up" NOT "I'm in pain". We used it every evening after work and through the night... for about 2 weeks. Now we might have to put it on him once a week for a couple of hours, just as a reminder. He almost never barks in the house anymore, and when he does it is just one bark and he is done. Periodically throughout the week when he is quiet (like when we walk in the door and he doesn't bark at us) we walk over and give him a treat, to reinforce the good behavior.

I think the product is great. I don't usually like products like this, but there are some dogs that just won't learn any other way. We rescued our dog from the animal shelter and his bad barking habit was already drilled into him... this was all we could do to fix it. Once your dog learns what happens it shouldn't take very long for him to realize that barking is not good... then just reinforce the good behavior when it happens. Hope this helps.

The level of stimuation is similar to the "hand buzzer" joke toys.

Dogs like to be good. This stimulation is far more humane than all the accumulated "Bad Dogs!" they would have gotten while we tried to train them out of thier natural behaviour.

It works pretty fast too. When the dogs were trained we removed the collar. When they reverted to barking we put it back on. Now we just have to show it to them and they quiet down.

I have 3 small dogs, two doxies and one peke. The dominant doxie would get the other two barking like mad. When she was in bark mode nothing would stop her and I've read and watched Cesar Milan (who I still love!) and tried so many techniques. Being very tiny, she could go thru almost any fence in our neighborhood and bark at squirrels, people in their own yards, whatever. She would not stop, would not come when called. I bought this product to quiet my golden lab. He would sit outside and bark a very high pitched, excited bark, at everything all day long. If I went outside, he'd be quiet, but who has time to sit with the dog all day??

When this collar arrived, I put it straight onto the dog. He barked about 5 times, figured out he didn't like the result and has been quiet ever since. He's also alot less hyper than before. I suspect if I take the collar off, he'll remain quiet. But if he starts up again, the collar will be put right back on.

Lightest Long Line Ever: 25' Outdoor Line

I have access to a large yard but it's not fenced in. This lead lets my dog run around but gives me peace of mind since I can step on it to stop her from, say, chasing a cat out of the yard ;). It's great for teaching recall, too.

Edit: After reading another review I wanted to say that this is not meant as a tie-out! It's for supervised play and training. If you're looking for something as a tie-out you'll need a thicker material.

I purchased this item over a year ago. It has held up so nicely! It still looks brand new even though I use it often while walking my dog through open fields or letting her swim in the river while I stand on the shore holding the other end.

It's a good length and weighs practically nothing. When my dog drags this line through the mud, I just toss it in a mesh laundry bag, throw it in the washing machine, and hang it to dry. Good as new!

My 10 lb. mini-poodle chewed through the lead and nearly was hit by a car when I tried to catch him. Scared me to death. I've gone through two cable leads, they coil up a lot and the plastic coating doesn't last. Is there a another option for a small dog who loves to hang out outside? I've attached his lead to the inside next to the sliding patio door. He lets me know when he wants out. I hook him up and off he goes. I need a long lead that he can't chew through but isn't too heavy. I was hoping this was the answer but it was a near disaster. The nylon lead is very flimsy and only has a clasp at one end which is also small and flimsy.

Large Soft Claws for Dogs (Natural, 12mm x 7mm)

I have tried these recently after moving into a house with brand new wood flooring and two dogs. I thought that the soft paws would be the answer to easily keeping my floors looking new for years to come, but after using them for 3 months now I've given up. They are just way more trouble than they are worth.

In theory, it's a great concept. Soft little caps over the nails protect the floor. In reality, they are a hassle. I will say, they'll likely work well for you if you have an inactive indoor dog. They apply fairly easily, but getting the right amount of glue on is rather difficult. If you don't use enough, they'll fall off quickly. If you use too much, they'll never come off and glue will squeeze out the top and glue the dog's hair to the cap (tip: they hate this).

My two dogs are reasonably active, we go for several walks a day with a little on pavement (but mostly on grass). The big problem I've found is that for my dogs, the caps tend to wear through before they fall off. Either that, or they fall off and the dogs scamper around the floor before I notice. My dogs also love to chew at them which doesn't help (bitter spray did not deter them).

So basically, my floors still got scratched up somewhat because the cap would wear away exposing the nail, or the cap would fall off. Because the nails have to be long for these to adhere, when this happens there is a sharp long nail waiting to dig into your floor. In order to combat this I had to inspect their nails multiple times a day which was just a royal pain.

I'm also concerned about whether these are good for the dogs nails. When applied, they tend to make the nail longer and will contact the floor. I think this puts more stress on the dogs nails and isn't as comfortable for them as having the nails trimmed short. Also, when I removed them one of my dogs nails didn't seem to be in very good shape. Some of the nail I could actually peel away with my hands, and when I clipped her nails some sort of semi-soft material oozed out. I'm not an expert, but that doesn't seem like a good thing.

In short, they do work well but I think they are too high maintenance. If you have a passive indoor dog so that wear won't be much of an issue, they may work well. I'd recommend getting a color so you can easily tell if one is missing however. I've decided instead that the cost and hassle isn't worth it and I've ordered a dremel to start filing nails down smooth. With a combination of short nails that are smoothed over, the floors will be fairly well protected and the dogs should be much happier.

Simple Solutions Washable Training and Travel Pad, Medium

I haven't tried it out yet, but the product description says, "Includes two pads that measures 30 by 32-inch." but the package that I got says, "1 medium pad". Not happy because I bought it thinking there were two pads inside so that I could wash one and use one for my geriatric pet. Now I will have to buy another one.

I bought it for night time use by my incontinent geriatric dog who has mobility problems due to arthritis. By putting him on about 1/3 of the pad from the edge it was about 4 hours before a little under 1/2 of the pad got wet but the top cover was only slightly moist to the touch. I put him on the other side of the pad and it took about the same time to get damp, certainly by 12 hours (8:30 pm 8:30 am) the pad was saturated enough that you could feel the moisture whereas at 8 hours you just barely feel the dampness. This is a whole lot better than the human disposable bed pads that I bought that only trapped the moisture but didn't stay dry and didn't last as long as 4 hours which necessitated my getting up at about 2 3 hour intervals to change!

I tried other brands, this one not very good. Dog's won't use it.

skip this one, and try another brand.

Dogs really dig these. I like the high protein no junk approach for their treats. They're not light "freeze dried" feel of some other protein treats. More dense, but not tough and stringy like jerky. Feels a tad pricey to me.
