Nylabone Romp 'N Chomp Freezer Bone with Treat for Dogs Under 15-Pound, Petite
Buy Nylabone Romp 'N Chomp Freezer Bone with Treat for Dogs Under 15-Pound, Petite Now
I bought this toy as a gift for my brother's new Pug puppy. The Pug is about 7 lbs, and starting to teethe. He absolutely adores this toy, as does the adult 6 lb Chihuahua. I think it would be good for a dog up to 15, as the package states. It is slightly rubbery and bends, so I am not as concerned about the toy hurting the Pug's teeth. He was able to get the little treat part out in a day or two, that part is refillable though. He likes to play with it even with no treat in it. After a week of chewing on the toy, it has only the tiniest of little marks on it from all the rough play. Great little toy for small breed pups. It says you can freeze it, we haven't tried that yet. It might be nice and cool that way for a teething pup.Thursday, May 8, 2014

Tan Leather Teaching Lead: Dogs Over 40lbs
Buy Tan Leather Teaching Lead: Dogs Over 40lbs Now
This leash is good looking and well made. It's a great all-around leash but its true genius is the double-ended clip feature. We use it to position our dog a short distance away from the dinner table. Now he lays down with a chew toy while we eat, rather than moving from chair to chair, soliciting scraps. I have purchased Sarah's dog training books in the past (DogPerfect and Puppies for Dummies) and this leash is an excellent complement to the techniques she describes in her books.Read Best Reviews of Tan Leather Teaching Lead: Dogs Over 40lbs Here
This is the best leash I have ever had in my 15years owning dogs. My Aussie puppy chewed through it, but for 3$ the show repair man was able to fix it. I will never go back to other types of leases again. GREAT product!Thursday, March 20, 2014
PetZoom Pet Park Indoor Pet Potty
The Not as Good: The basin below the grassy patch is very shallow, so I'm sure once my dog grows up I'll have to upgrade; for now though, it easily accommodates a day's worth of elimination. Also, because the grass patch just rests on the plastic tray below, my dog occasionally tries to scratch and pull it up; if this sounds like something your dog might do, I wouldn't leave your dog unattended with the pet park unless you clamp the grass to the tray and/or ensure that he's been trained to not play/scratch/bite it. Also, be sure to remove any loose plastic grass blades when you get it.
Overall, works as advertised. Definitely made my life easier.

This has been the best purchase. I bought this for our travel trailer. Sometimes we leave the dogs in the trailer while we go out and they sometimes cannot wait until we get back. They love to use the green grass to potty. I do not have to get up in the middle of the night to take them out to pee. They just use the PetZoom pet park. I put a puppy pad between the grass and the pan and just throw it away after they use it. When we get home we hose it off and store it ready for the next trip. I would recommend this for small dogs especially. This is a great litter box for small dogs.I have a 10 lb toy poodle boy who learned to pee and poo on the pad within a week. I bought two so I can rotate between them. I started to notice the urine smell within two days and I decided to wash and air dry the pad every other day. After 3-4 weeks, I started to notice that it's getting harder and harder to wash off the smell from all three parts of them, including the synthetic grass, the mesh and bottom tray. I used 409 on the mesh and bottom tray, which improved the staining/smell problem a bit. But I am hesitated to use bleach or other detergent on the grass since my poodle sniffs around the grass and I don't want to expose him to toxic chemical. It is e beginning of the 6 weeks after I got these two pads. I just ordered the IRIS disposable pad and tray yesterday cause I can't stand the hardworking on cleaning up the synthetic pad and my family have been all complained about the smell tho I wash them every other day. I wish there is a product with synthetic grass but cat litter sand in the middle, which can absorb the urine and bad smell. Maybe I will try to make the combination myself to see how it goes. IF it works well, I will get back and let you guys know about it.In theory this product works really well. My dog loved peeing on it and took to it with no problem. However, I was unaware of how disgusting it would smell. If I had thought about it (concentrated amounts of pee in one spot) I would have realized before purchasing how gross it would be. As well, if you accidentally tip it while trying to empty it, you would end up with pee all over you and the floor. While it is "eco friendly" because you are re-using the same product over and over, it is so awful that it is not worth it! The pee smell permeated throughout my condo and made me want to gag.Saturday, March 1, 2014
Easy Walk Harness - Large, Red
Buy Easy Walk Harness - Large, Red Now
This product works very well. My 90 # dog would sometimes pull so much that she tore the head collar style leash from my hand. She doesn't pull AT ALL any more and she much prefers this to the head collar.I bought a different type for my smaller dogs and loved it, but they don't make a size to fit larger dogs. This one works similarly in that it is comfortable for the dog and works on the premiss that when a dog's weight is pulled off the front paws s/he is submissive. Works well.I first used this on my dad's 90 lb ridgeback who I walked with my 85lb dog. Needless to say, if they saw a squirrel I had to run after it as well and it was of course a huge risk if we all had to run in the middle of the road. The dog can still pull with this, but he hasn't been able to have more control than me with this harness. I now use it on a 50+lb hound mix puppy I just rescued. I first used the gentle leader for her since the shelter was using one, but she would spend most of the walk trying to get it off and since she has droopy eyes (a hound) I didn't think it was good for her to be rubbing her paws near her eyes so much since she could get an infection. So I got one of these harnesses for her as well. I find it works just as well as the gentle leaders, but the dogs don't seem to mind having them on as much as those. Keep in mind that they tend to love to chew on the strap on the front if they can get their mouth around it (i.e. in the car etc). Both my dad's dog and her have chewed through them. So keep them supervised if you keep them on when they're not walking for some reason. Also, for my dad's dog the chafing of the straps caused his hair to be shorter in some spots, but I haven't noticed this on my new dog.Monday, February 17, 2014
PetSafe Indoor Radio Fence
#1. Tattle Tale: worked well but was VERY annoying. Any visitors would bump into it and set it off and it was very loud.
#2. Ssscat: Worked well but only if you remembered to turn it on, we constantly turned it on and off between using the sink for our own purposes and it does release an initial bust of air for no reason which scared our cats because they thought they were doing something bad. Our cat quickly learned to identify this item so we had to camouflage it and hide it inside random counter items so he wouldn't just recognize it, and somehow even if he did recognize it he still went ahead and took the change because sometimes somebody would forget to turn it on and so he would get away with his business.
Now finally we have this item. Before purchasing I did as much research as I could for this item, something not too strong and with a small radius for shocking so it could be reserved for just the area that is off limits. So I decided on this item.
Upon arrival I tried it on myself to ensure that ths was not going to be too painful. It continuously gives you a mild shock (about as strong as carpet shock or a sweater static shock you would normally get) I set it to the smallest shock radius (2 feet diameter, 1 ft radius) and placed it on my cat.
I am pretty confident that it has been working. It has now been over a month and he has not used the sink for relief (he used to go maybe 1 x week)
If I had a large dog I would probably rate this 5 stars and I know it wasn't designed for small dogs and cats but that is the reason I gave it a 4 star.
I cut the collar small enough to fit my cat, but the strap is not tight enough and after two days my cat was able to scratch it off himself so I had to replace the strap with a 3/4" double sided velcro collar and that one holds on well. It even looks much better than the original blue collar as well.
I will update this in the future if my cat decides he doesn't agree with this review :)I used this on my cat so he wouldn't go into my roommate's bedroom. If you're worried about the shock, don't be. I shocked myself and it just feels like a strong static shock you get on dry days, nothing more.
There's a warning tone at a certain distance, and then a shock at a closer distance, which leads me to my two complaints.
1) Warning and shock should be able to be set separately. Instead, they're linked as one setting. So if you increase one, the other increases also, with the warning maybe 2-3 feet out from the shock radius. In my case, this lead to a situation where my cat couldn't even go in the kitchen down the hall from the bedroom. No, you cannot turn the warning tone off.
2) Maybe certain animals are different, but my cat quickly learned the radius for both the shock and the warning. So, because he's a cat, what he would do is stand inside the warning radius...and not move. BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP. It's not super loud but it's loud enough to be very obnoxious to anyone in a somewhat quiet house.

I own a SportDog (SDF100A) underground fence and the remote collar IS compatible with the PetSafe (PIRF-100) Indoor Fence Transmitter.I have been doing a lot of research on different underground fences and although the concept of the Innotek/Petsafe Contain and Train system sounds like a winner and is compatible with the PetSafe Indoor Fence Transmitter, reading all the bad reviews on the contain & train remote trainer and on the collar's battery life turned me away from the Innotek/Petsafe product. This was a really tough decision as the main reason for me needing this system was not only to keep my puppy safe outside but the capability to use the PetSafe indoor containment areas to keep him safe inside the house.
As my search continued (SportDog vs. Dogtra) I was disappointed that neither one of them have advertised an indoor containment option. After considerable research I ended up finding out that the SportDog (SDF100A) Underground Fence IS compatible with the PetSafe (PIRF-100) Indoor Fence Transmitter.
Well I have been using the system for the last few weeks and all is working great! My puppy no longer goes into the kitchen and the best thing is, I only have the collar set to tone and vibrate. So far this has been the best purchase!
I will try and remember to provide a product update in a year or so to say how it's going.
UPDATE: 1 YEAR LATER
Okay folks. So it's been about a year now and my indoor fence transmitter is working as good as the first day I bought it. I was originally concerned about the reliability as there have been other's that have reviewed it that have ran into problems. I am not to sure what they did to theirs, however, mine is working like a champ. When we bought our first indoor system we so pleased with it that we bought two more. Over time the disks seemed to fade in power. I called PetSafe and they told me it wasn't possible. Now, we have three disks that power on, but give off no signal. Since they are covered under a lifetime warranty, PetSafe is willing to replace them...for $40 each. This is suppose to cover the cost of the repairs. These do work great if you only need them for a very short time, but for the cost, I expected more. We also have the outdoor system, and with five dogs, we've gone through a LOT of collars over the years. PetSafe really needs to make a more durable collar. They are good about replacing the collars when they are shot (They usually don't survive a battery change,) but their exchange charges are unreasonable.Works like a charm to keep my two pomeranians out of the living room. Just plugged it in, and put their collars on. It didn't take but a couple of times of getting buzzed and they don't step toe on the carpet. It seems to be important to find the right distance off the ground to place the receiver. Too high and they can slip in under the signal. Too low and they can run in, jump up on the chair and get above it. Overall, I am quite pleased.

Tri-Tronics Pro 500 G3 EXP Training Collar
This collar was bought to replace an ancient Innotek Command Series 1600. In comparison the Tri-Tronics controller is huge, clunky and the function/options are crude. They couldn't even include a way to connect a lanyard so you have to buy a holster making it even larger? On the other hand, setup is extremely easy, unlike the Innotek which was a real pain. Probably why it is no longer available.
If I had to buy another collar I'd buy the Pro 500 again because it appears to be the best out there right now. But I'll continue to use my Innotek until it dies and they no longer support it.

P.S.I. Imports Silent Acme Whistle (Carded) Psi Silent Acme Whistle Card Training & Behavioral Aids
I HAVE had trouble with one whistle not holding its setting. Otherwise these are solid and unbreakable. I have one that has been around here for at least thirty years.
High quality but you'll just HATE it when you lose one!! And, as you noticed, they ain't cheap!I got this to try and keep my neighbors dog from barking. It didn't work at all. The dog would stop for 2 seconds then go right back to barkingI think perhaps I misunderstood the productI don't know. The dog disappeared about a month later so it worked out. It arrived in decent time and the product itself was in new condition.

SportDog SD-425 Camo WetlandHunter
I have owned an SD-400 for about 2 years. It is a great product and I loved it, but always wished it would vibrate instead of beep. When I got a new puppy I wanted to add a collar, however, if I did so I would lose the ability to use the tone feature. I saw this SD-425 Camo and was sold! This is basically just an updated version of the SD-400.
Pros:
Vibrate feature as well as tone. With only one dog you essentially have 4 features you can do. Tone, continuous, momentary AND vibrate.
Small compact receiver
Light weight transmitter. Only 2.2 oz. I thought it was defective at first because it was so light. I thought they forgot to put my battery inside!
Li Ion batteries!!! Used to take 24 hours to charge the SD-400. Now, only 2!!!
50-70 Hours of use on single charge according to my manual
Cons:
Outside of transmitter is very slick. My SD-400 has a rubbery feeling to it which I think is better than the SD-425 Camo
Ability to add-a-dog but the additional collars are almost as expensive as an entire system
Not pros or cons:
The lanyard is redesigned. I like how it has a quick detach buckle, however, I liked the old ring and metal clasp. Combine the old lanyard with the new and they will have a winner.
All in all, I love this and am excited to start training my new pup. Based on my experience with the older SD-400 I would recommend this to a friend. If anything changes I will update my review.Great collar with effective range, multiple settings give great options for different activities and environments. Highly recommend this product to others!

Quiet Moments Gel for Cats - 3 oz.
No problem trying to mix it with food, get them to lick it off your finger, etc.
Buy Quiet Moments Gel for Cats - 3 oz. Now
I got this product on the recommendation of a friend that said her cat loved it and would lick it off her finger and it worked really well to calm him before grooming. Neither of my cats like it so I have to put it on their paws so that they can lick it off. To see them, you would think that I was putting hot tar on their paws. They get so upset and spend so much time licking it off that I don't see the same benefits and grooming remains a battle. This is not a condemnation of the product. It is an unfortunate result of my cats not liking the flavor. Perhaps if there was another flavor option things would be better but as things now I am at a disadvantage for giving it a fair rating so I gave it a neutral one,Read Best Reviews of Quiet Moments Gel for Cats - 3 oz. Have a young cat that was meowing and a little unhappy. Quiet moments makes him more settled down.which makes the family happy!Neither of my cats liked it. The directions say to give it to them on your finger and let them lick it off, but they're not interested. It is really sticky and smells like maple syrup. I tried to trick them by mixing it with their wet food. One fell for the trick, but the other (the one who needs it more) won't touch it. The one that did eat it seems calmer. She is the one who will meow all night if no one snuggles with her. Since there is less meowing from her, I am giving this product two stars rather than none if you can get them to eat it, it seems to help the attitude issue.
