This item does not work very well. It is very sensitive with no way to adjust the sensor. I called the company's customer service and they informed me that this item had been discontinued quite awhile ago, and therefore they could not give me customer service.

I do not think Amazon should be selling discontinued products without at least informing the buyer.

I am very unsatisfied after using this product only 6 weeks. Upon opening it I saw it was made with cheap plastic, but at first it worked fine, and the spray REALLY deterred the cats off the counter. Now the sprayer part of the mechanism is completely non-functional, even with a fresh new can. Yesterday the ring that holds the product onto the can split and broke off. So, all I bought is a sad tattling beeper that tells me those cats are back on the counters.

This works great!!. You have to be creative don't just sit it at the place you want to protect. Animals like to take the same path to places so hide it in directline to their route. When they catch a shot in the face without warning it makes them think twice about going that way. Remember to move it around so they don't get used to it. This prodect will fit other spray cans like a computer air can or air freshener. Just don't use something sticky or dangerous. It is very easy to set up. just clip it to the can and set the range. It takes a few minutes for it to start working. After a few minutes give it a try by walking in front of it.

After a year of trying to train my indoor cat not to jump on the kitchen counters I ran across this device. It worked great after only two weeks! Before I'd have to listen for the noise she made trying to get the lids off the pots. Then I chase her with a super soaker water gun but it became a game to her. Got this device and each time it went off I'd hear her immediately thump off the counter onto the floor. The beep noise scared the bjesus out of her. Now I only use the top part without the spray and it has the same effect. I would highly recommend it to indoor cat owners. 5-star.

Spray Sentry does not seem consistent. Sometimes it won't go off. Other times it gets in a loop and keeps going off when there is no target. It did that when no one was in the room and exhausted the can of spray. Further, the spray is not vigorous enough, and does not hiss loudly enough, to frighten our cats very much. We also bought an sssCat that only sprays and does not have a horn. That works well and sprays vigorously, although there does not seem to be 200 sprays in the can, more like 100 or less. Still, it's better than having a little fur person peeing on the stove or taking a dump in the corner of the living room. From what I can gather, both Spray Sentry and sssCat keep changing models and discontinuing the old ones, sometimes offering both a spray and a horn, and sometimes just the spray. I also heard that they are the same company, but according to the labels they don't seem to be. Anyway, we find that the sssCat model without a horn is reliable and effective and, unlike Spray Sentry, does not have such a long range that you have to mask the lens. Thumbs up on sssCat; thumbs down on Spray Sentry.

Karen Pryor, Getting Started: Clicker Training for Dogs Kit

The book is the heart of this package and it's simple, friendly, easy to read, and covers everything. It spends more pages than it needs to on selling you on the idea of clicker training: the whole first and last chapters, and periodic paragraphs in between throughout. Maybe some people need to be reassured more than they need to be taught how to do it, but I found it a little unnecessary. Even so, it's a brief book you can get through in a few hours and yet it has everything you need to begin clicker training.

The quick start cards are in some ways more handy since they get right to the point. They are necessarily brief, and I wonder if some people might be tempted to work just from them and thus end up frustrated since they don't explain some of the finer points. But even if you did go just from the card you could likely do pretty well as they do cover the important details.

The clicker is a little large and doesn't have as crisp a sound as the other one we bought, but it's quite serviceable. The bag of treats is perfunctory; it's not enough to do anything, and they might as well not have included it.

This package will definitely get you started on clicker training and give you everything you need (other than buying more high-quality treats!) to get good results. Clicker training works. (However, I would still recommend a basic obedience class first: clicker training builds on the basics rather than replacing them.)

This is such a nice "starter set" for learning how to train your dog (horses and other critters are mentioned as well). Each new task is broken down for you in workable parts so that the task, overall, can be learned easily by your dog as well as by you! Yes, you need to know how to be a good teacher for your very best friend in the world!

The set includes a nice clicker that is not too high-pitched or too loud so that it will not scare your darling friend. Yes, I got a couple of other clickers that were larger, really loud and high pitched such that it actually scared my sensitive buddy! Karen Pryor also has a nice set of 5 even smaller clickers at a very low price here on the Amazon site. Get them if you don't already have a few extra clickers so that you can keep them everywhere around thehouse wherever you go as well as one for your pocket when you go out of the house with your dog.

The "Help Cards" are sturdy as well as attractive. These help to "remind" you of the steps and each facet of the training that you will have to do to help you as well as your friend to master each task. She makes it so easy.

There is a small bag of tiny treats included (about 100 or so) to get you started. You need to figure out the "level" of treats that you want to use to train your dog. They go from "high" to "low" value. Basically, for simpler tasks and steps, you will use "low" value treats for training. Something your pal likes and will do the trick for the "usual" training sessions. However, there will be times that "high" value treats (hot dog pieces, beef stick pieces, or even a toy that your dog really loves to play with) will be needed when you want to train your dog to do more complex tasks and to keep her attention throughout the process. I have learned to use food treats less and less and to use high praise and breaks after so much time (every 5-10 minutes). Some complaints about "clicker" training is the food reward all of the time. I prefer not to use food as a reward. I am the only person who feeds him and, when I do, the words "Roo-roo" get him going, he perks up, is excited while I prepare his raw meat and is more than happy to get his one meal each day and the 1/4 cup of meat kibble to gnosh on during the day. He loves this time and I strive to keep food and performance as separate as possible. It works very well. Also, this is a great help to those of you who have heard that a food reward for everything that your dog does for you (from step-by-step rewards to a reward for the task itself each time it is completed satisfactorily) is not the best thing in the world.

The book is fantastic and it should be your "FIRST" clicker training book! I then recommend another book, which is a compendium of many more task, as a follow-up: "Click for Joy! Questions and Answers from Clicker Trainers and Their Dogs," also by Karen Pryor!

I wish you the best for you and your dog. My dog has achieved a greater level of confidence from doing these tasks, learning them, and the deeper relationship that he and I have developed through this process. He is more of the dog he can be as a result and you will be proud of both yourself and your dog as you both achieve the learning of each task!

I liked this app. My Rottweiler was very interested but my pom mix just hid. I also found that my wife can hear up to 16kHz and I couldn't hear above 15. Only thing I didn't like was that it wasn't very responsive and occasionally raised the frequency when trying to lower it. And also the contrary which is why only 4 stars. I'd recommend adding a 10Hz increment adjustment for lower frequencies also.

This is such a piece of crap app. Don't even bother with it. I don't know why people make this fake stuff.

It's hard to tell if it works or not as the kindle itself emits an audible sound any time you click a frequency and it's hard to tell if that's what the dog is responding to or if it's really an inaudible (to humans) high frequency sound.

Tinkle Belts

I purchased this for my dog in order to deter inside 'marking'. I measured his torso so I had the correct size. Once I put it on him it would slip down after a period of time. I also purchased little pants (different company) that are attached by velcro. These work much better and actually stay on throughout the night.

I got this for my standard poodle who dribbles pee in the house. It fits his waist fine but is a little narrow, so it slides up or down after a while and he has managed to pee around it a few times; you have to adjust it every now and again to make sure it's covering everything. I wish it had a larger area on the bottom to accommodate the belt moving around, but otherwise it's perfect. It's not bulky or ugly, my dog doesn't mind having it on at all so it must be fairly comfortable, and it's very simple to wash.

I would recommend this product to anyone who has a dog who marks or dribbles in the house; it does it's job very well and is designed nicely.

Seller is great also; there was a shipping error which caused my order to be delayed by a few weeks but the seller was very polite and sent me a second tinkle belt free.

I have a 3 year old Maltese, who was tinkling all over my house. Ever since he got his tinkle belt 4 weeks ago, he has only tinkled 3 times in the house. And that, is usually due to someone "fogetting" to put his belt back on when he came inside. I have washed it about 6 times and it is holding up great! I have 9 month old weiner dog who is being as stubborn as anything about peeing in the house. I've tried everything even including wee pads (he eats them), doggie diapers (they don't stay on).

The Tinkle Belt has been a great solution for my Mini Dachshund. He is a great dog but I couldn't break his habit of lifting his leg. I was at my wits end when I found the tinkle belt. First of all, the photograph in the product description does not match the actual product at all. This dummy mat does not have a plastic control box or any visible "features" of the real ScatMat whatsoever. It's simply a piece of clear plastic you could buy for $2 at Home Depot. In fact, it's so clear you can't even see it when placed on a surface; my dogs jumped up on it immediately (and they always avoid the real ScatMat when it's on the same couch). Very misleading description and completely useless product.

Update: Be sure to check the dates of the positive reviews versus the dates of the negative reviews. I believe this product was different a few years ago.

We had a regular shocking ScatMat that was working wonders on our two young cats, but we had to keep moving it from one location to another. I was skeptical at first about the Dummy mat, but ordered two anyway to try out. The cats are just as careful around the fake mat as they are with the real thing.

Plus, as the cats learn where they are not allowed to go, the Dummy mats don't have any wires so they could potentially be cut to size for smaller table tops or counters for semi-permanent installation. I have not done this yet, but might eventually.

These worked like a charm after the dog had experience with an activated scat mat. We bought these to "block off" additional parts of the house. It is extremely rare for her to cross the boundary. We planned to switch one with the activated one if she did cross it but she hasn't even done it enough times to do that. This does not have the lines that the real one does. Seems like they could have at least drawn fake "wires" running through it, but she didn't seem to notice. By the way, I have tried just plain thick plastic from the fabric store before and it was not as effective. I guess this looks more like the real shock mat.

I love this collar system. I only received it this morning but I love it so much I thought I needed to review it based on my initial impressions. Also, seeing as there are only 2 other reviews (as of 4/3/13) I thought another review would be helpful for prospective buyers.

I have owned an SD-400 for about 2 years. It is a great product and I loved it, but always wished it would vibrate instead of beep. When I got a new puppy I wanted to add a collar, however, if I did so I would lose the ability to use the tone feature. I saw this SD-425 Camo and was sold! This is basically just an updated version of the SD-400.

Pros:

Vibrate feature as well as tone. With only one dog you essentially have 4 features you can do. Tone, continuous, momentary AND vibrate.

Small compact receiver

Light weight transmitter. Only 2.2 oz. I thought it was defective at first because it was so light. I thought they forgot to put my battery inside!

Li Ion batteries!!! Used to take 24 hours to charge the SD-400. Now, only 2!!!

50-70 Hours of use on single charge according to my manual

Cons:

Outside of transmitter is very slick. My SD-400 has a rubbery feeling to it which I think is better than the SD-425 Camo

Ability to add-a-dog but the additional collars are almost as expensive as an entire system

Not pros or cons:

The lanyard is redesigned. I like how it has a quick detach buckle, however, I liked the old ring and metal clasp. Combine the old lanyard with the new and they will have a winner.

All in all, I love this and am excited to start training my new pup. Based on my experience with the older SD-400 I would recommend this to a friend. If anything changes I will update my review.

Great collar with effective range, multiple settings give great options for different activities and environments. Highly recommend this product to others!

Product has a distinct (garlic-type) odor, that is supposedly designed to ward off cats. We've had a feral cat problem for a few months, and applied the product. Within 2 days the cats could absolutely care less, and were all over our the place. It basically did nothing for us.

As per instructions, I cleaned up the cat waste in the area, then sprinkled Scram Cat. In 2 days the feral cats in my neighborhood were using the area as a litterbox again! If it rains, you need to reapply. The stuff has a decent odor. The bag doesn't go that far. I'd love to give the bill for this bag and all the other methods I've tried to the neighbor who started feeding a couple of stray cats. The population is probably at least 30 now.

I had to totally remove all the wood chips and put down new weed stop the black fabric, then put 9 new bags of wood chips down and used 1 bag, my wonderful neighbor feeds @ least 10 stray cats and now we zero cat scat in my wifes garden now they just crap in the yard. So if you do all the work that needs to be done it works great!

I used this to teach my dog to tell me when he needed to go out so that he wouldn't learn to bark instead. I didn't want my dog to scratch on the door or bark to tell me he wanted to go out, so I started early with him to touch the bell with his nose to indicate he wanted to go out. I have one at the back door, one at the top of the stairs, and one on my desk at work (he is a service dog). I trained him to "touch" to indicate he needs to go. Since he already had a schedule to go out at 11, 2, 5, 8, and 10pm, I jsut made him touch it at those times that I was going to take him anyway. He got used to touching before the door would open. Now, if he needs to go and it isn't a regularly scheduled time, he will touch the bell. I hear the sound, and I will let him out (as will my family members). I did this with my prior dogs too, but the bell I had before was a heavy sleigh bell which was just too big for a papillon. This is light enough for any sized dog to use.

My goldendoodle was 4 1/2 months old when I got the bell. After just a few days of ringing the bell every time we went out my dog started ringing the bell. It really helped with our training. He had no more accidents after we got it. Great product!

I was skeptical about this product, but was willing to try anything with our new puppy.

We watched the DVD the night before we picked him up and started using it from day 1.

Maverick was only 8 weeks old when we brought him home of course he had some accidents at first, but I expected that! By day 3-4, Mav was ringing the bell on his own to go outside.

From days 5-12ish, he maybe only had 1 accident inside per day, and it was usually because we weren't watching him closely enough to read the signs that he needed to go.

We're now on day 17, Mav is just over 10 weeks old, and he hasn't had an accident inside for 5 days. He consistently rings the bell when he needs to go potty, we let him out, and he goes immediately.

I'm amazed that it took less than 2 weeks to completely house train such a little puppy it has made such a huge difference.

I can't recommend this product highly enough.

The snap broke already and we haven't even taught the dog to use it. Also, the adjustment doodad does not lock into place, so it keeps working its way down to the floor. I just tied the top part into a knot to bypass the snap, but that means the little bow is gone and it looks a little tacky. I will have to find a way to lock the adjuster into position. Probably should send it back, but it's easier just to "fix" it, I think. If it were $5 I might give it 2 or 3 stars, but for $20 it should last at least long enough to get the dog trained. Looked nice in the package!
