These collars are great!! You can "alert" each dog individually and switch between dogs easily and quickly. Assembly was simple and quick right out of the box. I had almost instant results with both of my min pins who had decided not to listen when outside unleashed. I love the fact that you can vibrate the collar instead of shocking-and you can change the intensity. Or you can just use a beep to get the dogs attention. Both of my dogs respond to the beep to get their attention and if needed respond well to the vibration. Its nice to not have to use the static "shock" unless REALLY necessary. Because of the ability to change between intensitys and individualize it for each dog, these collars could be used on any size dog. The shipping was very fast and customer service was excellent!! I would highly recommend these collars to anyone who wants to aid in training a couple of stubborn pooches!!

The price was great the product was not. it is a two collar system but i only use one collar for frear of shocking the wrong dog! after only using it for a week the battery in the remote died. it took forever to get the right size and they were expensive. now the remote itself does not work even after changing the batteries.

This thing chews through batteries way too fast. The batteries in the collar have to be changed almost daily. The specialized batteries in the remote die quickly as well and are more difficult to replace.

pros:

1. The range on these is good.

2. The collars take standard AAA which is nice.

3. The shock and vibration are adjustable. One of my dogs a mild vibration is plenty and the other needs half power shocks from time to time so he doesn't think he can run free chasing cars. Anything less he just shrugs and goes anyway obviously deciding that freedom is worth the price. lol.

4. These are pretty sturdy and both collars still work after getting some decent use.

5. Great price when I got them.

6. You can vibrate, shock, or beep each dog seperately and settings for levels are stored for each seperately.

Cons:

1. Remote uses stupid batteries instead of something standard. (pro tip for this later)

2. The build quality is less than stellar. One collar is louder than the other for example.

3. When batteries run low the collar uses the same beep noise as the manual beep. This means you can not train the dogs that the beep is a warning or even a "come here" command. If you do and the batteries run low the poor dog will be stressed out as his collar continually 'warns' him or commands him to do something.

4. It is a bit of a pain to remove and readd batteries to the collar and then press the button on the remote right away. Not a huge deal but not great.

5. Because there is no dedicated button for each mode or for each dog you have to be very careful to look at the remote and ensure you have the right dog and the right mode or you may shock dog one when you mean to vibrate dog two. Then you feel bad and the dogs are confused.

6. The remote goes to sleep to save batteries and you have to hold the remote button for a second to turn it back on. This combined with the time to look at the screen to make sure you are on the right dog and right mode means you miss the training opportunity a lot.

tips:

1. Use low discharge rechargable AAA batteries for the collars and keep one set charging while you use another. These collars eat through batteries fast if you leave them on long and a fresh set is good.

2. If possible change the person using the remote so the dogs to not associate training with a single person and only behave when that person is around.

3. Start with low settings such as 10 on the shock and only move it up if needed. The collars shock harder when batteries are fresh and some dogs will ignore low settings especially on low batteries.

4. Use vibrate before shock and eventually your dog will associate the vibrate with the warning and shocks will rarely be needed even for the most hard headed pup.

5. Never use the beep to train the dog for anything as it is the same sound the collar makes when low on batteries.

6. Be aware that although the negative reinforcement form these collars is effective and very handy it does not replace positive reinforcement which should be your primary training tool.

7. The remote uses two 6 volt batteries for a total of 12v but it runs great on 9 volts as well. If you are handy with a dremel you can use this to your advantage. I modified mine so I can use a standard 9 volt battery in the back. It not only lasts a lot longer but you can get then for 50 cents from the dollar store instead of the expensive batteries that die fast. Warning/Disclaimer: not only will this void any chance of warranty or return but if you are not confident in your handyman skills you should skip this tip or you may destroy the remote. It is also best if you know how to solder because you can put on a 9 volt adapter cable but I just shove mine in there against the contacts because I didn't have a cord around the house to solder in.

Only downside is the transmitter goes to sleep too soon (2 minutes?) so you have to keep it awake by punching a button. Collars have movement sensors for this, too bad the transmitter doesn't.

Also, you can control only one dog at a time. So in an emergency you might have one more click to alert the right dog.

Well, I did feel good about using earth friedly products, but I have to admit that there are much better products on the market.....because my puppy was used to the others, the initial sight of a spray bottle and the sound of the spraying, she darts away..but the earth friendly factor, I'm afraid is also a somewhat puppy friendly product....it has a little hinnt of 'get away' to it, but not as much as I had hoped....I will continue using this, as she won't be a puppy for long and it is better for our home and environment!!!

Murphy is a 14 1/2 year old Old English Sheepdog with Kidney issues and arthritis. These pads are just OK--I have two four month old shih tzu pups (Lucky me!!! :) and its too cold for them to go outside. I have tried four brands thus far with these being the least absorbent--I do like the price and the size better than others, but they get real wet and having more tracking/tearing than the others. Wont buy again--savings is eaten up in that I have to use more :(

I bought these pads primarily because of the many very positive reviews and I have been disappointed. I have tried many brands of pads for my small dog (6 lb) and this one is thin, and frequently leaks right through the middle of the pad. Will not buy again.

Update:1/22/2013

After going through all 100 pads, I have to say that this one is okay, not awful like the first 20 or so I used. Usually the urine does not soak through the middle of the pad. However, if the dog goes near the edge, the urine will run off the pad and onto the floor. At a price of $44 per 100 pads I would expect more absorbency and better edges.

I buy these for my Shih Tzu ..she is pad trained for indoors. One box of 100ct. last me months. I first ran out to the pet store & bought a pack of pee pads, did not work very thin & would stink. I went to costco & found the abzorbs & it's all i bought for 3 streight years .. I now purchase them through amazon due to it is hit or miss finding them at Costco. They are the best absorbent & hold alot without smell. I put 2 pads down and change them every 4th day .. changing them of course will depend on size of dog. You can never go wrong with this brand & it locks in the urine , has never leaked onto my tile flooring. Amazon & costco are the same price , Amazon is the way to go for the purchase due sometimes hard to find in the stores or very pricy for this 100ct. package at pet stores.Hope this review has helped.

PlayaPup Dog Diaper for Incontinence/House Training

These diapers are cute but beware the sizing. I had to send them back because my dog needed a full size larger than the sizing info indicated. My recommendation would be to order a size larger than you think you need -if they are slightly too big you can still use them; they are un-usable too small. Also one weird thing is that the fabric is really slippery so they literally fell off my dog, but then again maybe a larger size would allow them to cinch tighter at the waist. The diapers I found to work the best are Simple Solutions because the fabric is not so slick -but even in that brand I had to up the size.

We have an older 7 lb female Pomeranian who has a bit of incontinence. The PlayaPup diaper has solved our problem. We use the x-small size. The diaper itself isn't absorbent, it's made of quick drying material, sort of like bathing suit material. We put a disposable liner type of bladder control pad inside for accidents. Our dog seems happy wearing it, she forgets it's there. :)

This is an attractive diaper for my older incontinent female dog. But dogs don't always just tinkle a little bit. I didn't realize this product was rubberized which makes it impossible to add a "maxi pad" to help absorb moisture. The tail opening is so small, putting it on her takes great patience. I have several other style (denium) diapers that work beautifully. I wanted to dress her up a bit with this one, but it truly doesn't work. I would not purchase this item again.

PureAyre Pet Odor Eliminator Refill, 1-Gallon

As a multiple cat owner, there's no way to avoid one of the worst odors in the world: cat urine. PureAyre is the only product I've found that really does eliminate this odor. I've been using it for over 8 years now, ever since I witnessed the founder of the company at a home improvement show squirt it straight into his mouth to prove how safe PureAyre was. I bought a couple of spray bottles at the show and didn't have to wait very long for an opportunity to try it -my 20 year old cat had peed on her sherpa pad bed again. I rinsed the bed, then heavily sprayed it with PureAyre. Like the instructions say, ideally you should leave it on to work its odor-killing magic until the object dries out. I was truly amazed when no cat pee odor was left! I tried to always have some on hand, even though it was very expensive then. When my latest cat arrived 3 years ago, she decided to mark her territory and outright pee on clothing and worst of all, my $4K nubuck leather couch (which she'd peed on repeatedly before it was discovered). Unfortunately I was out of PureAyre and back then the only way to get it in quantity was to mailorder from the company. In a panic I ran to the pet store and got Nature's Miracle and Simple Solution. After applying both the odor was actually worse, because it smelled like cat pee underneath the cleaning solutions. After this disastrous experiment, I called PureAyre and had them Fedex two gallons to me. I sprayed the outside of the non-removable cushions heavily, used a syringe to inject at least a gallon of PureAyre into the cushions, tipped the couch back, turned on some box fans to help dry it out and crossed my fingers. After 3 days, it wasn't completely dry but the cat pee odor was finally gone and my couch was saved. The important lesson to me was to always always always have PureAyre on hand. As I've become hypersensitive to the smell of cat urine, I now use PureAyre if there's even the faintest whiff of pee or puke, and to freshen up the litter boxes. PureAyre has a slightly herbal, minty aroma that doesn't linger.

After many years of dealing with cats peeing on the bed and tearing my hair out, I'd like to share my strategy for dealing with this problem. Most important, the best insurance against worst-case scenarios short of having an airbed is to have a good waterproof mattress cover that's comfortable and doesn't make crinkly plastic noises. On top of my bedding, I always have a Mambe blanket which is fleece on one side and waterproof material on the other (it's soft but not absorbent). As a final topper I have a 100% cotton throw which will absorb the pee or puke. Now when I come home to find someone's had an accident, all I usually have to do is scoop up the Mambe blanket and cotton throw and toss both into the washer (with some PureAyre in the rinse), tumble dry, and everything is squared away well before bedtime. I don't always sleep with the Mambe blanket or cotton throw especially when the weather's warm, but religiously keep the bed covered in this manner especially when I'm not there, when stuff seems to happen.

PureAyre is not a disinfectant or even an effective cleaner by itself. It does one thing and that is to positively eliminate the nastiest odors in the air, and in areas and on things you can't put in the washer. The ideal procedure would be to use a cleaning solution (such as non-toxic Simple Green) if possible, thoroughly rinse with water, then end with an application of PureAyre, allowing time so it can fully "eat away" the odor-causing compounds. Believe me, I've tried competing products over the years in an attempt to save money (Nature's Miracle, Simple Solution, Urine Off, Anti-Icky Poo, etc.) and none can compare to PureAyre. If you need disinfecting power, an excellent and very safe disinfectant is a botanical one called Benefect that smells like thyme. Together these two great products tackle all of my tough pet and household conditions and always win.

We are a multiple (multiple MULTIPLE) pet household and even though I'm very fastidious, there's no getting around the fact that pets DO make stinky messes sometimes (or all the time!). With Pureayre no one would ever guess we have any pets. It's THAT good. Yes there's a faint peppermint smell when you first use it, but it does dissipate quickly. I have a very keen sense of smell, I am chemically sensitive, and I like things extremely clean Pureayre is a total win in all of these areas. We can't be without it. Nothing else even comes close. So my old cat peed on my bed and got everything: sheets, comforter, pillow. I soaked everything immediately with Pure Ayre, threw the stuff into the wash and no more stink. The down comforter, I used Pure Ayre to soak the part Kitty got and it works. I thought the comforter was ruined but this stuff really does the trick. Kinda minty smelling I don't like it but it's mild and goes away (and better than cat pee!). I also use it after I change the cat box. I have 3 cats and you wouldn't know. I plan on buying a gallon next just to have around.

One day later: My down comforter, even with the black light, shows NO traces of cat pee! I can't believe it. It took 2-3 treatments with this stuff, and there is a slight mint smell leftover but no cat pee! It was there this morning, and I was about to take the comforter to the laundromat to wash the whole thing with vinegar, but due to the snowy roads I decided to give it some more Pure Ayre. I could see the outline where the stain was, so I sprayed the stained area well, put it in the spare room with a fan and now, 8 hours later it is dry and No Smell. I looked everywhere for the stain with the black light and couldn't find it. I'll probably wash it anyway but this stuff really works. I'd give it more starts if I could. 1. It is very light in weight. Almost next to nothing compared to other collars.

2. There is no large, heavy metal buckle to deal with.

I must admit that with this small collar I did modify it for him by removing the plastic buckle and sizing it down to his 13 inch neck size. I then saddle stitched it to a perfect fit so it will just slide over his neck. I did this with a speedy stitcher.

I really can't be any happier with this collar for him. It's just perfect for him. I don't need to worry about someone not seeing him at night.

Millie the Dog and I thought this was the greatest blinking collar ever for the 4 to 5 weeks that we had it. She wore it only for her night walks which were about 20 minute long. Then the battery failed. Bought new batteries which proved impossible to install. Needless to say we are very disappointed that collar/ battery functioned for such a short time.
