I have tried every no pull harness and this is the only one that works completely. After spinal surgery it was too painful to walk my husky until I got this. Halt, gentle leader, no pull leashes none of them worked. The idea is that dogs will push back against any pressure. When a dog pulls, the bit wrapped around the legs presses against the back of the legs. You would think this would make the dog move forward but it actually makes them hang back and not accelerate. In fact, if my dog stops to sniff something I can't tug the leash to make him catch up to me or he will slam on the break! It's fine-you just learn to say "c'mon" instead. The maker also says that dogs get their power from the back legs so the control should come from there. The holt control harness squeezes around the stomach. It didn't work for my dog and that seems like a more sensitive part to me. Your dog will get funny looks from people. It looks weird but it doesn't make them look dangerous the way a nose harness might. My only beef is that it is a pain to put on and gets tangled easily. It seems to me if you added slots on the main piece for the elastic to go through it would be much easier to handle.

After trying every other kind of anti-pull device out there, finally one works!! My dog is a corgi mixed with a relative of King Kong. Because of his strange shape the harness doesn't fit him very well (in my opinion), and he really hate,s walking in it. I've finally told him that if wants to go on a walk then this is the trade-off. I'm really happy that I tried this. Yes. He looks funny wearing it, but he's so cute, who cares?

I have an 85 lb 4 year old Lab. This harness does absolutely nothing to deter pulling. I couldn't even make it out of the house before my dog had dragged me across the room and hurt me. It was worth a shot, but once again, a harness that does nothing like what it suggests.

Reading nothing but rave reviews, I was eager to install my Good Life Pro. Was very pleased with sensitivity level; tried it out in the house the night we got it; someone standing behind it blew their nose rather loudly accidentally setting it off.

Put it outside, @ 7' from the neighbor's fence, where the dogs stand right in front of it and bark (at my cat, anyone who walks by, etc.) Alas, after three weeks with NO positive results, I called the company. These have an excellent track record to curb "boredom" barking, but not necessarily "protective" barking, in which case instinct overrides discomfort. :(

Company was great about facilitating return (I called on the 30th day--according to paperwork, the LAST possible day to receive refund).

While it didn't work on these particular little b@$+@rd$, if different annoying dogs moved in next door, I'd certainly try it again.

I have a one year old chocolate lab, and my Son has a one year old boxer/bulldog mix. I just received the collars, and immediately charged them up. I take the dogs walking out on the lake while I snowshoe. Sometimes they get way ahead of me and all I needed to do is vibrate the dogs, and they immediately came back. I like the vibrate feature it isn't real short like many other collars. It vibrates for a few seconds , so the dog really understands I mean business. The feature I really love is the fact that it has such a long distance many collars don't have that option. I also like having one remote and 2 collars, it is great even if I only use it on one dog, you always have a receiver charged up. I would highly recommend this shock collar to eveyone.

I bought this dog training collar kit after being tired of my daughter's dog constantly attacking the other dogs and getting into things. Her dog is very stubborn and just wags his tail when punished. No more! I was looking to not have to spend too much money since I had bought an expensive name brand dog training collar in the past that no longer worked. I was pleased to find this collar was an updated version of one that had gotten good reviews other than the way the remote was designed. This one has the remote redesigned to have both separate buzzing buttons as well as separate low and high shock buttons and two collars and shock/buzzing units for two different dogs. Or, while one is being recharged, the other collar can be put on the same dog if needed.

My brave son held one of the units to try out the shocking features of one of the units. He's a Marine and said it didn't hurt much at all. I then tried it on the low setting and was surprised that, although it doesn't actually hurt like our electric fences in the field for the goats do, it does cause you to be startled a little. Usually the buzz is all we need or the low shock if the dog is extra stubborn. We haven't had to really use the high shock yet since the low one works fine. There is also a button that you can buzz both collars at the same time if two dogs need warning together, like when they are harassing the UPS man when he is delivering something special.

I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who doesn't want to pay over twice as much for something that works the same but with only one collar. The collars need recharging with the included recharger about every two days in our house. But we keep testing them out so discharge them more often than most people would.

It works, when you figure it out. The instructions, such as they are, are on a one-sided sheet of xeroxed letter sized paper. The only illustration was a photo of a part of the remote control. Many other items were in the package and I would have appreciated a sheet of paper labeling each one and certainly better instructions. Okay, all that leaves something to be desired, but the thing does work. I had a hard time making the collars small enough to work on my two 12 pound dogs. And, although I have used them for only a week, one of the screws on one of the receivers managed to unscrew itself and fall off. I cannot figure out how that could have happened! And, sometimes one of the buttons (they recede below the surface when depressed) gets stuck! The first time it happened I didn't even notice for a bit--my poor dog. Luckily, that time I was only using the vibration function. Vibration is enough for my dogs. It doesn't hurt them at all, but startles them just enough to be effective when they start barking like little nutty doggies when other dogs are being walked past the house. I have tested the first shock on myself and have only used it a couple times with the dogs. I don't think it would hurt them, but I also think for my little ones I don't need to go that far. I am glad I bought this, especially because I control when it is used instead of it automatically going off when they bark, and because it controls two dogs rather than one. However, if I don't find the missing screw and its rubber cover, I may only be able to use it on one dog at a time.

I looked at a lot of different products and read a lot of reviews before deciding to purchase the "New Generation" training collars from Groovypets. I received the order well ahead of schedule and it works great! It was exactly what I was looking for. I have two dogs that I truly needed help in correcting... a dachshund mix (large dog at 40 lbs.) and a blue heeler puppy (currently 35 lbs. and growing) Both of these dogs are extremely energetic and free-spirited. I've only needed to use the vibration feature to-date... the three quick vibratory pulses in combination with my verbal command cause both dogs to stop in their tracks and both usually return to me and sit at my feet. That's exactly what I needed. I've had no problems with range or interference. I've not used the shock feature on the dogs, but I have used it on my arm (I wouldn't submit the dogs to anything that I haven't experienced myself.) The low-level shock provides quite a jolt... I can't imagine using this unless one of the animals is at risk and I have no other choice. I know that it would definitely get their attention! Since I've started using the collars they've become much more attentive and responsive to verbal commands. In fact, when either dog gets out of line I usually just show them the collar (if they're not wearing it) and they calm down immediately.

Setting up the collars took only minutes... I did have to charge both collars before I used them, but charging is quick and easy using the wall charger. The LED indicator on the collar tells you when it's charging and when the charging process is complete, so it's easy enough to swap and charge both collars using one charger. Having a second charger would make the process even easier, however. I've used other anti-bark collars that use expensive, short-lived batteries and the rechargeable feature of these units was a great selling point. I've had the dogs wear the collars for two days without charging and I've not run them down yet.

One of the reviews I read before purchasing voiced concern about the construction of the older version of this product... I found the design of this one to be quite satisfactory for my purposes. The collars are woven nylon (one red, one black) and the receivers are lightweight and fairly small. The LED lights on the collars are plainly visable when they're on the dogs and they make it easy to assure that they are functional at a glance. The snaps on the collars are plastic, but my dogs haven't managed to disengage or damage them so I'd say that they are well suited for their purpose. The handheld remote is the right size to make it easy to find yet small enough to shove in a pocket. There are two columns of buttons with different colored LEDs at the top that coordinate with the color of the collars and the buttons are spaced well enough so that you won't give the wrong level of shock or activate the wrong collar by mistake, making it very easy to manage two collars at the same time. The ability to activate the vibration feature on both collars at once is also a plus. I've had the collars for a few weeks now and I've not changed the 9-volt battery in the remote.

I look at the training process to be a phase, not a life-long process. I'm a pet owner, not a breeder/trainer who would use this product on an ongoing basis. My decision to purchase a product was based on my expectation that I would use it for up to six months at most. Spending several hundred dollars for a system seemed outrageous for my purposes. The price-point for this unit makes it a bargain and I have no doubt that it will last as long as I need it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a training tool... it works for me!

I bought this collar after reading most of the reviews based on the previous 2-dog model. Some of those reviews critiqued the lack of individual vibrate capability so when I saw this model, I thought it brilliant; and it is. I have two newly adopted dogs, added to a family already consisting of a rather large (80 pounder) Australian Shepherd and three house cats (Yes, we are insane for having three cats and three dogs). We got the newbies from the Humane Society and had the opportunity to cat test them in their cat adoption section. Both tested well and we could not decide between them so we brought them both home the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Breezy (trust me, her name suits her) is about 6-8 months old and still very much a puppy although she is pretty much full grown at 42 pounds. She is mostly Border Collie, so very smart and energetic. Breezy noticed the cats on introduction, but did not really think much of them. Good. Olive, on the other hand, went for our 20 pound cat and wanted to eat him straight away! Bad! Olive is an adult, probably 3-4 years old and mostly Heeler, again pretty smart and energetic (and a bit anxious I might add).

I have to admit that we panicked and wondered had we made a huge mistake but after some soul searching, we figured that every problem had a solution so it was our responsibility to find it. After all, what is the point of rescuing to save a life if only to "return" said life because things are less than perfect?

I found a local "Dog Whisperer" who was available Saturday afternoon. Appointment made, fee not important as this was an emergency in our eyes. This guy was great and we learned a lot within the very intense and exhausting three hour, in-home session. Plastic bite collars were purchased and a lot of "pop, pop, pop" took place; usually with success. Breezy was very responsive to correction and Olive certainly did not care for the tugs, but she eventually caught on and would even sit without a verbal command.

This system went on for a couple of weeks with relative success, the only problem being that human could be no further than leash length away from dog in order to execute the "pop, pop, pop" so catching the offensive behavior and correcting it in a timely manner became a challenge. Especially as the newbies were earning more freedom about the house. I must also admit that feeling tethered to the dogs was exhausting as well and I needed more freedom too.

The trainer had deemed Olive "unsocialized" and suggested a shock collar if she became non-responsive. I dismissed his advice thinking that a shock collar was cruel and inhumane, some sort of torture device. After a couple of weeks, I reconsidered and began to read reviews on all sorts of makes and models. I liked the idea of vibration and really liked the idea of being able to monitor both dogs remotely at the same time. This model seemed like the best solution for us so I ordered it from Amazon and received it a couple of days later.

The packaging was small and efficient with both units already charged and ready to go. The battery on the remote needed to be removed and reinserted so as to conserve its power prior to use I suppose. There are instructions as to how to charge the units, but absolutely no instructions as to how to effectively use the device. I began correction basically on the advice as offered in product reviews so more information from the manufacturer would have been appreciated. In hindsight though, opinions from those that have actually used the device proved to be most helpful. Of course I tested the shocks first and found that level 1 was adequate and level 2 probably more than I would ever administer. I'm not sure that I would recommend this collar for a small dog even though it purports to be for all three sizes. I certainly would not recommend it for a mini.

Olive disliked the vibration mode right away and quickly put two and two together: cat aggression=buzz, cat attention=buzz, cat following and fixating=buzz. She does NOT like the buzz at all and that usually is enough to distract her unto something else more worthy of her attention. She has had a level 1 zap a time or two and admittedly, the first time caused her to heighten her negative behavior so the zaps are reserved for the most egregious offenses and only when I am there to physically correct her by touch and redirection. Olive is more free to walk about the house now without us hovering over her just waiting for something bad to happen. She responds to verbal commands most of the time and when she is defiant, a little vibration gets her back on track quickly and the situation de-escalates.

Breezy, on the other hand, is not so bothered by the vibration unless I buzz both of them at the same time. I don't know if that means the her unit is weaker than Olive's or if the sound of double vibration just irks her more. Breezy's major offenses are digging, chewing on the fence, trees and rugs, and scratching at the back door. She is a puppy after all so some of that is to be expected and it is very difficult to catch her in the act. On the couple of occasions that she has been level 1 zapped, she corrected immediately and found something else to occupy her attention.

All in all, I will say that I am glad that I bought this unit and compared to the one the trainer suggested, it is much more economical with more options to correct two dogs (he had suggested two, $139 collars with independent controls). My critiques, again, are the lack of instruction and the use on small dogs. I do not find this product to be cruel or inhumane. Although I am a believer of corporal punishment and pain compliance, this is a much preferred option to yelling and nose thumping.

My husband wishes for me to add that HIS Australian Shepherd, Jack, is still perfect ;-)

I received this in a small box so didn't even think it was the item. Very cheap piece of metal with a very small bell held in place with a bolt and nut. Since the bell is not dangling from some type of cable my dog would need a hammer to make it ring. They say to loosen the nut but this is of NO help. I can return it but I must pay shipping.

looks good and once my puppy got the hang of how to use it, instead of running the other way, you can hear it from the other side of the house. very satisfied!

The bell is attached with a bolt. If you loosen the bolt (as instructed) enough for it to swing and ringit falls off after a day or two. I drilled a hole in the bolt and attached it with a "key ring." Now it works great.

We absolutely LOVE this bell for our poodle/bichon mix. We had been using the sleigh bell type dog bell, but could not hear it when our dog would ring it even in the next room because we have a more noisy household with 5 kids. When we started using this bell instead, we were so pleased. Accidents indoors almost never happen now. We hear it everytime so we consistently take our dog out when he needs this. It is attractive and easy to mount. It comes with training instructions and mounting instructions. I think your dog will love using this.

We received our collar and within minutes my one year old 20lb Cockapoo is like a brand new dog! We have a fenced in yard and before I struggled to get him in the house. Now with the vibration and command come he immediately follows me into the house. We have been able to correct several other behaviors right away with only the vibration. I doubt I will even have to use the shock ever. One of our collars was not working. The vibration worked but neither shock option. We attached the testing bulb and it lit every so slightly. Charged the unit completely and still no results. I e-mailed Groovypets and within an hour I had a response. They already shipped me out a new receiver and requested I send back the one that is not working once the new unit comes. Absolutely AMAZING!!! I never had such great service! If you are struggling with obedience, you won't go wrong with this collar. It truly is awesome! I previously had an anti-bark collar from Walmart that didn't work well. It was periodically giving a shock when our dog barked. What is so nice about the remote option is that YOU control when your dog needs to have a warning or a shock. I can't brag on this product enough. I have 4 dogs (Boxer 3ys, Bichon 9yrs, Shizon 3ys, and a Golden Retriever 10yrs) I use the metal prongs on the bigger dogs and the little ones they use the rubber prongs. Prior to buying this remote collar, walking with them all at one time was a nightmare. I always ended up tangled up in all the leashes. They were miserable and so was I. My friend saw this product online and suggested I buy it. I bought one just to see how it worked because I was hesitant about shocking my dog. I always thought it was a cruel way to treat a dog. But at this point I knew they all loved to go out and walk together because they all love each other so much and those eyes were so sad when I left 2 behind while waiting on their turn to walk I was willing to give it a try. Well, let me just say it only took a few times to train them with the least (vibrate) up to the low shock. I only had to use the high shock one time when the Boxer was running out towards the road. She immediately turned around and came back to my side. Within a few weeks they only need the collar on and my verbal command. The collar refocuses them and keeps them out of the way of traffic, out of others yards and keeps them from roaming or tying me up when walking or now I can actually run with them. They are happier, I am happier and we are getting in shape all at the same time. I have now bought 2 sets of collars, one for each dog and take them off when they are inside. I love the fact that this has the least to most options plus there is no digging around the whole property to plant a invisible fence. We tried that too. It was very expensive and a lot of hard work to only have a break in the line the 3rd time of use. The remote collar trainer is a excellent tool to train your dog to stay with you and to listen to the commands. Being rechargeable is also a big plus and saves me money. What a great deal you get with this collar and you will keep your little loved ones safe. Only suggestion is use command first, work from least to most and be consistent. I highly recommend.

I was doubtful of how effective this dual control system would be. However, after I put it to use, that doubt faded away.

My dogs respond more quickly to my whistle commands after having been trained to expect a warning and then a mild shock with the collars should they choose to ignore the warning. If they go beyond the limits of our yard, a touch of the vibrator button warns them that the mild shock will come next. Thus,they quickly return.

I only had to use the heavy shock once when the female went charging out toward the street. One press stopped her in mid-step. At the same time, a car whizzed by. I'm certain she would have been killed had the collar not stopped her.

Recently, I've been attaching the collars only as insurance against some temptation causing the dogs to wander off and for the purpose of being able to locate them in the darkness via the red LED that indicates the motion detector is activated. When the collar module sits still for several seconds, the circuitry goes to sleep in order to retain the battery charge and the red LED goes out.

During this time, the remote control commands have no effect on the functionality of the collar module. The motion detector is sensitive enough to wake the circuit with the slightest movement or vibration. This allows the remote control signals to once again have an affect.

I did have some trouble with one module. The sensitivity of the motion detector decreased to the point where the dog's normal running movements stopped activating it. However, just an email to the vendor along with my order number had me receiving a replacement in two days. In a few minutes, everything was like new.

That said, I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The equipment performs as indicated and the service I received from the vendor was excellent. I have no problem in recommending this product to anyone else.

These balls are a great novalty, but not chew proof. They don't pass the Lab test. I have a labrador, she was able to get her teeth into the hole and rip it apart.

I have really enjoyed this product. It is good quality and I even like how it looks. It is meant to keep your dogs close by and if they start to stray away, it only takes a small tug to bring them back (not meant for someone who wants a long leash).

I bought this bungee lead for my 75lbs lab/Rhodesian mix. He is a very stubborn puller and has managed to still pull on gentle leaders, easy walkers, and any other no pull training devices we've tried with him. This keeps him in check and gives us more control over him. The leash is very sturdy and I don't see him snapping it like he's snapped other bungee style leashes in the past. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a like more control over a puller. It's a good length to help teach "heel".

Italian Basket Muzzle - Size 10 - Black

This muzzle works great for my Akita. He is not able to pull this muzzle off. My dog does great with people, but not well with other dogs so this was perfect for those bi-annual visits to the vet office. This allows me feel more comfortable bringing him out in public (walks, vet, etc.) without worrying that someone's loose dog/cat may come too close to him.

These work perfectly on the shape of the Akita muzzle. They don't chafe like so many other muzzles. Highly recommended for allowing aggressive dogs to play together without worrying about fights.

I followed the sizing chart and bought a size 10 for my 173 lb Saint Bernard (his muzzle measures 14.5"). The basket fits over his muzzle, though just barely, but the strap that goes behind his head is about 6-8" too short!! I would not recommend this muzzle for a giant breed dog, especially those that have a big square shaped head like Saints or Newfies.

Poochie-Bells Dog Potty Training Doorbell, Woof

I purchased the Poochie-Bells per a recommendation from a breeder. She uses them with her dogs and suggested that I start to train my puppy to use them. We are still working on using them for potty training, but my puppy is only 10 weeks old. I have faith that he will use them regularly once he understands what they mean. I know it will take time to teach him properly. I love the product and am excited to see the results as my puppy grows and learns how to use them correctly. We're just in the beginning stages.
