SENSE-ation No-Pull Dog Harness - Black Medium

SENSE-ation No-Pull Dog Harness - Black MediumMy rescue hound/lab mix has been a puller from day one.

I've tried everything from gentle leader to canny collars, choke and prong collars in conjubction with training throughout.

I came across this harness in the book, When Pigs Fly, and decided to give it a try.

My dog is now 1 1/2 and while less interested in pulling and jumping on folks...she is still very excitable and it is still a concern.

The leash clasps to the front ring of the harness on the chest of the dog. As the dog begins to pull, she is turned toward the handler.

The harness has give and does not hobble the dog.

There is no learning/tolerance curve for your dog or you.

It's easy to put on and take off and low and behold it works as well as the longest running technique I've used----the ugly prong collar.

To put it mildly, I am thrilled to move my dog to a more comfortable and still effective control technique while we continue to work on her tendency to pull and jump.........

I would highly recommend you give this harness a try if you have a dog with a similar history.....even if you, like I, have developed a pricey collection of harness and collars.

The SENSEation harness replaced a chewed and repaired SENSEible harness. SENSEation supposed to be upgrade and more comfortable. Either harness are easier to adjust and fit much better than the Premier Easy Walk harness. Our other dog has the Premier and it never adjusts as easy or fits as well as the SENSEation.

My Border Collie mutt has been a leash-puller from the beginning. We have a collection of harnesses (they never fit -who knew I had an unusually shaped dog?) and Halti-type face collars (she passionately hated those and quickly figured out how to escape from them in mid-walk). This harness has been a revelation. The dog *immediately* stopped pulling on the leash and now walks eagerly but quietly next to me. She can tug gently on it, but not hard enough to pull the leash out of my daughter's hand. The multiple adjusters made the harness easy to fit properly, and the dog appears to find it comfortable.

With a small or short-legged dog, this harness will put the leash connection very low to the ground. You'll need to learn to hold the leash a little differently so it doesn't drag on the ground or trip the dog. It might be easier if there was a loop on the back to feed the leash through on short dogs -I may try adding one to mine and see if it helps with the leash dragging (but does not undo the anti-pulling effect of the front connection). A slightly longer leash is useful too.

This harness is so easy on my little 6-pound terrier mix. Use the measurement guide as a reference. My dog was right in between the sizes and I followed the directions for sizing (choosing the next size up) and got a perfect fit! My little dog doesn't mind sticking her head through the opening and having me connect the harness, which connects and snaps together with ease under her chest. When we walk I can steer her by pulling to either side of the harness, almost like a horse, and she naturally has to veer toward the way I'm pulling. She also is the stubborn dog that just decides to sit down or "put the brakes on" while walking (you guys who have this dog know what I mean!). With this harness, I just give a very slight and careful tug and she automatically has to start moving her legs because the harness sits right behind her shoulder blades. No more choking my dog or dragging my little puppy behind me, which is unsafe and just plain embarrassing. I wrap the leash around my hand a few times and can keep my dog right by my side without much effort. The construction is high quality and my dog doesn't mind wearing the soft nylon against her skin. The company even has an awesome program where you can send the harness back in and get it fixed should your dog chew on the harness or it need repair (at minimal cost). This harness is ingenious, safe, and perfect for those of us whose dogs won't or can't wear traditional harness's! The harness makes me and my dog feel more comfortable on walks. Well worth the money I spent.

Want SENSE-ation No-Pull Dog Harness - Black Medium Discount?

This harness was great at first...my dog walks nicely by my side with it, her pulling and sniffing is minimized, and it's easier on my arm and her neck than the traditional leash-and-collar. However, after a few weeks of use, the hair has chafed away under her right "armpit" (although not the left). I specifically purchased this brand of harness because this is a common complaint with other brands, like easy-walk, for short-haired dogs, and Sense-ation was purported to solve this problem. I believe that I followed fitting instructions to a tee, so I'm disappointed that we still had this problem.

UPDATE: After loosening the armpit straps slightly, we had no more problems with chafing. HOWEVER. Part of the plastic fastener has already broken off. It's still functional (the middle prong broke slightly), but it would have been nice if that didn't happen. I would recommend this overall and would purchase again.

Hannadees Horgan Harness No Pull Back Leg Dog Harness, Medium

Hannadees Horgan Harness No Pull Back Leg Dog Harness, MediumI have tried every no pull harness and this is the only one that works completely. After spinal surgery it was too painful to walk my husky until I got this. Halt, gentle leader, no pull leashes none of them worked. The idea is that dogs will push back against any pressure. When a dog pulls, the bit wrapped around the legs presses against the back of the legs. You would think this would make the dog move forward but it actually makes them hang back and not accelerate. In fact, if my dog stops to sniff something I can't tug the leash to make him catch up to me or he will slam on the break! It's fine-you just learn to say "c'mon" instead. The maker also says that dogs get their power from the back legs so the control should come from there. The holt control harness squeezes around the stomach. It didn't work for my dog and that seems like a more sensitive part to me. Your dog will get funny looks from people. It looks weird but it doesn't make them look dangerous the way a nose harness might. My only beef is that it is a pain to put on and gets tangled easily. It seems to me if you added slots on the main piece for the elastic to go through it would be much easier to handle.

After trying every other kind of anti-pull device out there, finally one works!! My dog is a corgi mixed with a relative of King Kong. Because of his strange shape the harness doesn't fit him very well (in my opinion), and he really hate,s walking in it. I've finally told him that if wants to go on a walk then this is the trade-off. I'm really happy that I tried this. Yes. He looks funny wearing it, but he's so cute, who cares?

We've been through training. I know what to do, how to do it. He understands the command and holds to it. Then five seconds passes and we start over. I don't have the energy. First time using the Horgan Harness, pulling stopped, our gait tempo matched, and walking became a joy.

I have an 85 lb 4 year old Lab. This harness does absolutely nothing to deter pulling. I couldn't even make it out of the house before my dog had dragged me across the room and hurt me. It was worth a shot, but once again, a harness that does nothing like what it suggests.

Alfie Couture Pet Accessory - Angel Wing Harness with Leash - Color: Baby Blue, Size: M

Alfie Couture Pet Accessory - Angel Wing Harness with Leash - Color: Baby Blue, Size: MI got this harness and leash set for my cat who weighs around 10-13 lbs. She looks so cute in it and the medium fits her fine. The material feels strong. I tried pulling it to see if she could possibly break the mesh but it doesn't feel like it's going to break. It's not a stretchy mesh, but more of a hard mesh. The company also threw in a free little dog toy that I gave to my dog. I am giving this 5 stars.

**Edit: My cat can easily get out of this harness even when I tighten it all the way. Be careful when using this with cats if you plan to take them outside in it.

Tell Bell - (blue)

Tell Bell -The Tell Bell has worked extremely well for us as we have used it for almost a year now. We have been so exceedingly thrilled with our Tell Bell that we have purchased numerous Tell Bells for friends! I've been truly impressed with the quality and innovative design specifically made for dogs, which makes it comfortable to ring. A cheap bell from the store was not designed for a dog's paw and seems like it would annoy their paw when they stepped on it. Bells that hang on the door are not as effective as they scratch and ruin the door and would make noise when you open it. Additionally, we found that watching the instructional DVD as a family helped us all to get on the same page with her training, and the booklet was helpful to refer to and review the training details.

Everyone who has visited our house has been so amazed that our dog rings the Tell Bell to go potty. I've even had a repairman who noticed the paw on the bell and couldn't believe that she would ring it to go outside, and he was so impressed when she actually did it! Initially, we started another potty training method, and then switched to the Tell Bell, so it did take our dog a little longer to figure it out. We just kept being consistent knowing that it would work. It took us at least 6 weeks or more; however, once she got it, she got it. Our entire family was filled with such joy when she finally figured it out! That joy remains with us every day as it continues to be so much fun to hear her ring the bell to go outside. It always brings a smile to our faces.

We have 2 Tell Bells, one at the garage door, and the other at the back door. We've successfully trained our dog to ring the bell at the garage door when she has to go potty, and the other bell at back door when she wants to go outside and play. It's convenient that each Tell Bell comes with 2 bells. Right after she learned to ring the bell, all of my kids walked out of the garage door to go play, and she whacked at the bell over and over again because she wanted to go outside to play with them. It was too funny! Through the consistent training that they teach on the DVD, she eventually learned how to use the bells properly. Our Tell Bells have also visited several people's houses and she has used them successfully, even in strange homes.

The Tell Bell works well! We give the Tell Bell the highest recommendation possible. It's a quality product with a remarkably effective training technique that has worked well for us, as well as the numerous people we have given it to as a gift.

We had relatives coming for a visit and their dog was coming with them. I asked if the dog was potty trained. She said yes and the dog uses a specially designed doorbell that sits by the door called Tell Bell. I have very nice doors that I did not want scratched and new carpet so I was not thrilled, but knew that the relatives were exceptionally clean people and would never let a dog stay in the house that was not "potty trained".

When the family put the Tell Bell by the door, I found it adorable! And sure enough, the dog hit the bell and went outside. No howling, no scratching!

Adorable! In fact, we offered to watch their dog while they visited elsewhere. We've bought a Tell Bell ourselves and it always makes our guests smile every time the Tell Bell rings.

We are told the people made the Tell Bell to stop sooooo many dogs from going into shelters. Many dogs go into shelters because the owners can not get the dogs potty trained. The people who made Tell Bell hope the Tell Bell would help keep the dogs out of the shelters. If you don't have a Tell Bell trained dog, then get it Tell Bell trained. You will never have a problem in finding someone to watch your dog. I wish everyone would do this so there would be less dogs at animal shelters. What a great fun way to love your dog even more.

I love this product in so many ways. How do I count the ways? This product is excellent in that you get two for the price of one, so one of the bells can travel or just stay at the sitters house, NO BATTERIES required! DVD gives instructions whereas many of the other products do not, no scratching ever on my doors, no barking or howling,

After 6 months of consistent trying, our (admittedly a little slow) 10 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel still didn't get the hang of the Tell Bell. He knew the bell would be rung before the door would open, but he would always stand by the door and wait for us to help him ring it.

I think the main problem is it takes too much coordination for a small dog to strike the bell in the right place and with enough force to actually ring it (the button is about the size of his paw, and it doesn't make much noise unless it is pushed sharply straight down).

In the end we replaced the $25 tell bell with a $1-ish jingle bell tied from the door handle on a string, hung just above the ground. We put a treat right under the bell so he had to move (ring) it to get his treat, and one week later he is already ringing it on his own when he wants to go outside.

At least six months with the Tell Bell taught him what "Ring your bell," means, even if he couldn't actually do it ;-)

The photo of this bell makes it look larger than it is. It's the size of a bell you'd see on a hotel counter. That's cool for small dogs, but my German Shepherd mutes it as he rings it. I gave it to my friend who has a toy poodle and it works well for him. I ended up getting a bell like is on the top of the old country store doors...which mounts to the wall and is on a curved flexible hanger. Sergeant rings it easily and it works as good as the tell bell...although the tell bell's portability is good if you have a small dog.

A lot of these reviews are fake. Dig a little deeper into their username and see that they only review this item multiple times.

My small 6 month old puppy who is clicker trained at first used the bell. Then out of no where she regressed and refuses to ring the bell even after a lot of coercion (bribery). This is a dog who understands the "touch" command, closes doors, and jumps through hoops. By no means is this a dumb puppy but she seems not to get the tell bell.

Simple Solution Disposable Diapers, Small, 30-Count

Simple Solution Disposable Diapers, Small, 30-CountI've been using these diapers on my dog for over 2 years, with great success. I would rate them 5 star, except for the fact that the price for the 30-pk on Amazon has gone from $20.93 on Nov 11 to $28.49 on Dec 6. So now the 30-pk is more expensive per diaper than the 12-pk. Doesn't make sense to me. Because of the huge price increase on Amazon, I ordered the 12-pks in bulk from another website. Price was almost 20% cheaper. Too bad, because generally I am an EXTREMELY happy and loyal Amazon customer.

These actually work for my 19 year old dachshund mix. Sure sometimes it might leak a little but come on..these are dog diapers. Just make sure you put them on as tight as possible. Adding a panty liner helps. I also like the resealable tabs. I can replace the panty liner and the diaper is still good to go.

I have a 17 year old miniature poodle and have been buy these diapers for over a year. They were great! However, within the last couple of months, the quality has gone down, way down. They leak and don't last through the night any longer. In a side-by-side comparison with the original product, the current diapers are smaller and have significantly less absorbent --all for the same price! At first I thought what I was getting was counterfeit (who would make counterfeit doggie diapers!?), but found same quality issues with this brand when purchased at Petsmart and at Drs. Foster & Smith. I'm looking for another brand.

I have purchased these diapers before. They have always worked great. I have an older dog and she doesn't always have control. I don't know why, but it seems that over the past few months they have changed the way they make the diapers. The tape tabs seem to break off. So I put a diaper on the dog at night and it breaks and comes off while she sleeps. I think they should go back to the old way of manufacturing them.

Loving Pets Grill-icious Bite Size Dog Treats, Beef, 22-Ounce

Loving Pets Grill-icious Bite Size Dog Treats, Beef, 22-OunceI am always looking for healthy dog treats... no by-products, no preservatives, mostly meat protein, no wheat, no gluten, and made in the USA. I found these by accident (in a small, pricey package), but when I read the content information and my dog went "ape" over them, I did what I often do... I went on line to find a better, cheaper source. Amazon again came through. This 22-once package is a bargain in more ways than one.

We have been fans of the Loving Pets products for a while & once again they knocked it right out of the dog park with the Grill-icious Beef Treats. This bag is incredibly large & lasts much longer than their other products e.g. duck / beef / lamb / pork strips kinda hard to find the Lamb Strips. These are made in USA & my dog absolutely loves them.

Darford Zero G All Natural Treats for Dogs with Trout and Shrimp, 14.1-Ounce

Darford Zero G All Natural Treats for Dogs with Trout and Shrimp, 14.1-Ouncenuf said

But 18 more words required... Easy to break up into small bits to sprinkle on food or to give as smaller treats.

Make no mistake... Giving your dog raw foods, or dehydrated foods + rehydration, will beat all options. It is not really feasible for most people's lives and, even if it is feasible, its not easy to do at EVERY treat time as well as meal time. The Zero/G line from Darford is the next best option. This includes their treats and food. My dogs LOVE these shrimp/trout treats being reviewed. At 30 calories per treat its perfect for an active adult dog and easily breaks in half for smaller dogs with less caloric requirement and, of course, for lazy dogs.

This product probably should not be sub-named "With Trout and Shrimp". The first ingredient in this specific formula, mysis shrimp, is not a 'meal' and is not dry when measured. This means that after the 80% of water is taken out of the shrimp its true content would appear waaaay down the list of ingredients, possibly in the lower 25% of ingredients. The fourth ingredient, herring meal, is a legitimate measurement and gives this product most of its meat protein. The other meat included, trout, is not a meal nor dehydrated and is too far down the list to really even exist in the product. These treats would be more accurately sub-named "With Herring", but I guess that isn't as appealing.

I would guess 45% of the protein in this treat is actually from meat, the rest from other ingredients especially peas.

A huge advantage of these treats, and the Zero/G food, is the low glycemic effect on dogs. Peas and buckwheat (which is a fruit, not a grain), and the other related ingredients in the product, have very little blood/sugar effect. So stop giving your dogs potatoes which will spike their glucose levels then cause them to come crashing down.

Givin the price, these treats are a diamond in the rough!

DT Works Harness, Search and Rescue, Black/White, Large - Fits Girth Size: 34-Inch to 47-Inch

DT Works Harness, Search and Rescue, Black/White, Large - Fits Girth Size: 34-Inch to 47-InchI got this vest for my King Shepherd puppy that is training to be a Search and Rescue dog. I found this vest to be very durable. Stitching seems good. No complaints yet! It is a very thick vest so for my King Shepherd it's a little too hot for the summer time. I would not recommend this vest for a long haired dog in the summer. It would however make a nice winter vest.

Groovypets Remote Control Dog Training Shock Collar with Rechargeable Receivers for Humane and Effec

Groovypets Remote Control Dog Training Shock Collar with Rechargeable Receivers for Humane and Effective Training and Bark Control/anti-bark of Two Small, medium, and Large Dogs:featuring Vibrate and Shock for Each DogWe received our collar and within minutes my one year old 20lb Cockapoo is like a brand new dog! We have a fenced in yard and before I struggled to get him in the house. Now with the vibration and command come he immediately follows me into the house. We have been able to correct several other behaviors right away with only the vibration. I doubt I will even have to use the shock ever. One of our collars was not working. The vibration worked but neither shock option. We attached the testing bulb and it lit every so slightly. Charged the unit completely and still no results. I e-mailed Groovypets and within an hour I had a response. They already shipped me out a new receiver and requested I send back the one that is not working once the new unit comes. Absolutely AMAZING!!! I never had such great service! If you are struggling with obedience, you won't go wrong with this collar. It truly is awesome! I previously had an anti-bark collar from Walmart that didn't work well. It was periodically giving a shock when our dog barked. What is so nice about the remote option is that YOU control when your dog needs to have a warning or a shock. GREAT Product and AMAZING customer service.

I can't brag on this product enough. I have 4 dogs (Boxer 3ys, Bichon 9yrs, Shizon 3ys, and a Golden Retriever 10yrs) I use the metal prongs on the bigger dogs and the little ones they use the rubber prongs. Prior to buying this remote collar, walking with them all at one time was a nightmare. I always ended up tangled up in all the leashes. They were miserable and so was I. My friend saw this product online and suggested I buy it. I bought one just to see how it worked because I was hesitant about shocking my dog. I always thought it was a cruel way to treat a dog. But at this point I knew they all loved to go out and walk together because they all love each other so much and those eyes were so sad when I left 2 behind while waiting on their turn to walk I was willing to give it a try. Well, let me just say it only took a few times to train them with the least (vibrate) up to the low shock. I only had to use the high shock one time when the Boxer was running out towards the road. She immediately turned around and came back to my side. Within a few weeks they only need the collar on and my verbal command. The collar refocuses them and keeps them out of the way of traffic, out of others yards and keeps them from roaming or tying me up when walking or now I can actually run with them. They are happier, I am happier and we are getting in shape all at the same time. I have now bought 2 sets of collars, one for each dog and take them off when they are inside. I love the fact that this has the least to most options plus there is no digging around the whole property to plant a invisible fence. We tried that too. It was very expensive and a lot of hard work to only have a break in the line the 3rd time of use. The remote collar trainer is a excellent tool to train your dog to stay with you and to listen to the commands. Being rechargeable is also a big plus and saves me money. What a great deal you get with this collar and you will keep your little loved ones safe. Only suggestion is use command first, work from least to most and be consistent. I highly recommend.

I was doubtful of how effective this dual control system would be. However, after I put it to use, that doubt faded away.

My dogs respond more quickly to my whistle commands after having been trained to expect a warning and then a mild shock with the collars should they choose to ignore the warning. If they go beyond the limits of our yard, a touch of the vibrator button warns them that the mild shock will come next. Thus, they quickly return.

I only had to use the heavy shock once when the female went charging out toward the street. One press stopped her in mid-step. At the same time, a car whizzed by. I'm certain she would have been killed had the collar not stopped her.

Recently, I've been attaching the collars only as insurance against some temptation causing the dogs to wander off and for the purpose of being able to locate them in the darkness via the red LED that indicates the motion detector is activated. When the collar module sits still for several seconds, the circuitry goes to sleep in order to retain the battery charge and the red LED goes out.

During this time, the remote control commands have no effect on the functionality of the collar module. The motion detector is sensitive enough to wake the circuit with the slightest movement or vibration. This allows the remote control signals to once again have an affect.

I did have some trouble with one module. The sensitivity of the motion detector decreased to the point where the dog's normal running movements stopped activating it. However, just an email to the vendor along with my order number had me receiving a replacement in two days. In a few minutes, everything was like new.

That said, I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The equipment performs as indicated and the service I received from the vendor was excellent. I have no problem in recommending this product to anyone else.

Spray Bark Control

Spray Bark ControlFirst when I received this collar the battery was dead so they had to send me another one. I ordered this from FaactoryOutletStore.com. The 2nd one didn't work properly. It would spray sometimes but not all the time. It only sprayed if he really barked hard...full throttle. It would also spray sometimes when he would shake his head so he wasn't getting the idea that it was his barking that was the trigger. I returned the product. Maybe it would work better on a bigger dog...I don't know. I wouldn't recommend it for small dogs. I did just see one that said "made for small dogs" so maybe I'll try that one.

At first I had high hopes. It seemed to work, the dog barked less. But sadly, the failure rate crept in. After just a week, it required constant filling to keep up, then failed. An expensive experiment.
