Lixit Original Dog Faucet Waterer

The Lixit faucet dog waterer is a tough, reliable product that works as advertised. You attach the Lixit to an outside hose faucet, and turn on the faucet. The dog licks the control lever on the Lixit, and water momentarily flows down around the lever. The dog quickly gets the idea and repeatedly licks the lever, causing a slow, continuous flow of water, which stops when the dog stops licking.

The only problems I've ever seen with the Lixit are that it does sometimes leak a little (but since it is for outside use, this isn't a big deal), and that if it is attached to a faucet that is in the sun, the metal parts can get pretty hot. Other than that, it just works.

I've had several of these over the years. They work great but eventually they wear out. Make sure to check them cause if they aren't working it could be a real bad situation for your dog. I find that after a few years they start to leak and also hard water deposits will clog them.

A great product for the convenience of not having to refill water bowls for pets and providing fresh water. However, unless the lixit is at an almost perfectly vertical (right) angle to the ground, it will not completely shut off, but continue to drip or dribble with a heavier flow the farther it is from vertical.

First Impression: At first I didn't know what Dad wanted me to do with the Lixit Dog Waterer. But after Dad showed me a couple times, I caught on very quickly. The instructions say you can put peanut butter on the lever, but Dad just pushed it with his finger. Also, he showed me that I can press my nose on the Lixit to make water come out. Fascinating!

Conclusion: Dad says it's well worth the money! He never has to worry about a water bowl outside. When I play outside and get thirsty, I use the Dog Waterer. I lick it and it gives me fresh water. It hasn't leaked so far. I now think that Mom's bath faucet will turn on if I lick it for long enough. The Dog Waterer was very inexpensive and is recommended for all outdoor dogs, or even dogs that just go outside when they have to (like me).

I ordered two auto dog waterers. I was unable to get either one to install without leaking continuously. I finally took out the hard plastic washers and installed good rubber washers to prevent them from leaking when not being activated.

The Tell Bell has worked extremely well for us as we have used it for almost a year now. We have been so exceedingly thrilled with our Tell Bell that we have purchased numerous Tell Bells for friends! I've been truly impressed with the quality and innovative design specifically made for dogs, which makes it comfortable to ring. A cheap bell from the store was not designed for a dog's paw and seems like it would annoy their paw when they stepped on it. Bells that hang on the door are not as effective as they scratch and ruin the door and would make noise when you open it. We had relatives coming for a visit and their dog was coming with them. I asked if the dog was potty trained. After 6 months of consistent trying, our (admittedly a little slow) 10 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel still didn't get the hang of the Tell Bell. He knew the bell would be rung before the door would open, but he would always stand by the door and wait for us to help him ring it.

I think the main problem is it takes too much coordination for a small dog to strike the bell in the right place and with enough force to actually ring it (the button is about the size of his paw, and it doesn't make much noise unless it is pushed sharply straight down).

In the end we replaced the $25 tell bell with a $1-ish jingle bell tied from the door handle on a string, hung just above the ground. We put a treat right under the bell so he had to move (ring) it to get his treat, and one week later he is already ringing it on his own when he wants to go outside.

At least six months with the Tell Bell taught him what "Ring your bell," means, even if he couldn't actually do it ;-)

The photo of this bell makes it look larger than it is. It's the size of a bell you'd see on a hotel counter. That's cool for small dogs, but my German Shepherd mutes it as he rings it. I gave it to my friend who has a toy poodle and it works well for him. I ended up getting a bell like is on the top of the old country store doors...which mounts to the wall and is on a curved flexible hanger. Sergeant rings it easily and it works as good as the tell bell...although the tell bell's portability is good if you have a small dog.

A lot of these reviews are fake. Dig a little deeper into their username and see that they only review this item multiple times.

My small 6 month old puppy who is clicker trained at first used the bell. Then out of no where she regressed and refuses to ring the bell even after a lot of coercion (bribery). This is a dog who understands the "touch" command, closes doors, and jumps through hoops. By no means is this a dumb puppy but she seems not to get the tell bell.

NaturVet Bitter Yuck No Chew Spray

We have three dogs: a Beagle mix, a Pomeranian mix, and a pure bred Mastiff. They were chewing on our wood furniture and couch cushions. So, I bought this spray and applied it as directed. They kept chewing. So, I literally soaked the items with this stuff. They kept chewing.

All this stuff accomplishes is two things:

#1: It wastes your money. Let's face it, it's essentially water with some bitter rosemary extract in it. It's not exactly worth what they charge for it.

#2: It coats everything in a very bitter-tasting spray. So, if you put it on anything you handle or lay on frequently, this stuff will eventually end up in your mouth. Not to mention the taste of the overspray when you apply it.

Don't even bother with this. The only good thing I can say about it is that it is odor free.

You're best of trying other methods to prevent chewing.

Purchased this for a cat that needs to stop licking himself for medical reasons. I was suspicious since the ingredients are water, baking soda, and rosemary (my cats actually like the smell of rosemary), but I wanted to try something natural.

I applied the spray to the cat's fur and he promptly licked himself, paused, and then continued licking himself. I, however, got some of the liquid on my hand and later in the night touched my lips. Regretted that inadvertent action for the remainder of the night due to the lingering taste on my lips and tongue.

The cat has continued to lick himself in the area of application and actually spends even more time grooming himself now.

I am returning the product for "bitter apple", which is more effective.

I can't recommend this product at all. I bought it to stop my cat from eating cut flowers. After spraying the flowers my cat jumped right on the table and started chewing--he wasn't bothered at all. Meanwhile, I had the grossest taste in my mouth from the spray being in the air. Within a minute of spraying this my kids (who were in another room) began to complain of a nasty taste in the air. Even now, a week after using the product, I still get hints of it--it seems to be coating every surface in the house and anytime I touch something it clings to my hands. Definitely not recommended! I've used a bitter apple spray with great results. Only bought this because the shop was out of bitter apple and the sales person told me this was "about the same". It's not!

I was having trouble with my cat eating my house plants, so I got some of this to spray on the leaves. It has worked really well, and the cat hasn't chewed on any leaves since I sprayed it on several months ago. I think I will probably have to reapply at some point, but so far so good! I like it because it's just rosemary, which is obviously harmless and won't hurt the plants or the cat, but it really works well, at least for my cat.

... your dogs' tags don't set it off. I thought it was a failure because it seemed to go off randomly, until I figured out it was his tags jingling that set it off. So I found a tag that wraps his collar instead of hanging and that solved the problem.

Big news around my house is that it works on a 50lb compulsive barker. It emits a sound different than the other sonic items I've tried and he absolutely hates the sound and stops barking immediately. He not only doesn't bark but once, he runs off if someone else barks. Result is no one barks, because he's always been the instigator. He's also seemed to break his compulsion he barks less altogether.

When he doesn't have it on and starts barking because of someone arriving I just hold it up and approach him he stops barking.

So I tried shock, other sonic bark-stoppers, and citronella, and this is the only one that has worked! Whew, it is quiet here again, after 3+ years! I'd about given up hope, but 4 dogs were moving in next door and I got desperate. If it hadn't had a money-back guarantee I wouldn't have tried it.

I read a review regarding this collar prior to ordering it. And she was spot on! This collar is terrific! The very first day that I put it on my dog he improved! There are certain things that cause him to bark excessively, like the Gardner or Pool man and I could never get him to stop barking. The collar emits a tone that gets louder and longer every time he barks. Typically by the 3rd time he is barking excessively he stops and gives up. I no longer have to waste my yelling at him to make him stop, he wouldn't listen to me when he was like that anyway. As far as the intermittent barking, a kid playing out side or a neighbor walking their dogs by, has improved dramatically. The issue that the other reviewer mentioned about multiple dogs, and another one without the collar sets off the sound on the dog with the collar, is totally true. As another reviewer pointed out, this does go off if your dog shakes his head with a tag on his collar so I took off his other collar off to prevent "misfires". Found it still goes off if he wrestles the cat, jumps off the couch, walks... breathes....

Does NOT come with a battery (which the instructions say the company sells) so they should just charge you an extra buck or two and include the battery so it's ready to go straight out of the box. Feels light in weight which is good for the dog but in this case light might equal cheap since it is malfunctioning. Looks ridiculously big on a 15lb dog would be nice to have a smaller size for traditionally tiny+yappy breeds that might need it. Sounds like a fairly loud microwave oven beeeeeep!!!! going off next to your ear and I kind of feel bad for this going off randomly next to his head. Customer service said they could send a replacement but this is getting boxed up and going back.

I bought two of this product for my son's dogs. They worked, but only for a day.

And unfortunely you CAN hear them. By day two we were not only listening to barking

but also a high pitched noise which made it all that much more annoying.

My lovely grand dogs just wiggled their ears a bit and continued barking.

On the companies behalf my sons dogs are both part pit bull and a mix of great dane. Not many things stop

them from doing what they want to do. I thought I would give this product a try, but they did not work.

Flashy Pants

There is a reason they show a drawing of the pants and not a photo the panties do not fit the same as shown and not the quality it appears.

The pants fit shorter (more like at the narrowest part of the torso), the ruffles are not as full and more minimal, the plastic liner has an openingis to hold a small pad (about half a human pad). But, the placement of the opening is totally wrong so the pants get pretty soiled. Sometimes the panties would work for a day but not longer, since the pad does not give the protection to the fabric as needed.

The ties on the sides offer more flexibility in getting a snug fit (VERY important!) on any particular dog. But, what a PAIN to take them off and on everytime the dog wants to go out! Elastic or adjustable velcro may be a better choice.

If you decide to go with this product (because it is relatively inexpensive), get several and plan to wash them every other day.

The use and care information included says not to machine wash or put in dryer. I was able to us a delicate/handwash setting with no damage to the plastic. If you have the time to air dry, that probably would be best, but I was able to put in my dryer at the lowest heat setting with no problems.

Our golden retreiver pup is still very independent and is being trained to follow rather than lead...

That is fine but walking her was an unenjoyable chore. At the end of the walk she was frustrated and exhasted from pulling, she got no socialization benefit because she was too impatient and WE were frustrated. No one got any enjoyment or benefit from these sessions.

We've used the Gentle Leader with two dogs, and with patience, they are a great training tool and a relief from dogs that pull. The key is to start when they are puppies, if you have that ability. You have to make sure they are properly fitted that being tight enough on the nose and the back of the head. So make sure you buy the correct size, which means if you adopt a puppy which grows into a larger dog, you'll have to invest in another at some point. The good news is, you'll have the smaller one for when you adopt your next dog!

We have a lab puppy that is 5 months old. I have been struggling with the martingale collar trying to teach her to 'walk' rather than run and pull and make a complete mess of our quality walk time (I do it twice a day as she is full of beans and needs 2 x 20 min walks, and am the reluctantly nominated 'leader of the pack'!). I am disappointed with this product. The collar is very very narrow in width, not wide like the plain style medium sized one from Gentle Leader even though it's the same size. The clasp to keep the muzzle part in place won't stay put so it is constantly falling off my dog's muzzle. I've used other gentle leaders before and this one just wasn't the same quality.

I purchased this as a recommendation of our vet...my dog HATES it!! I have given up on the head collar entirely and use the leash with a harness. Absolutely terrible product. The end caps fall off when the dog runs. The volume went out and it costs $40 to fix, and they claim to be water resistant but I do not believe them. To turn them on or off you rotate the end cap and they never match up. Buy the tritronics one for $100 instead..

I got this for $31 shipped on Amazon, when it was $79 everywhere else. I wanted an inexpensive beeper since I have never used one, I didn't know how the dog would react. This beeper has alot of features for the money, I have used it on 4 weekends hunting, and it has worked great. The dog hated it at first but got used to it. I will say it is definately worth the $31, I think for $79 I might shop a little harder and maybe upgrade for a few extra bucks.

The first pads I ever purchased were the Natures Miracle Advanced Wee Pads and not by choice I just walked in having just gotten my puppies and grabbed the first thing I came across. Now Natures Miracle was a tad expensive so I started looking for another brand more in my price range so I did a lot of research and this brand was rated high by people, then as luck would have it Pet Supplies Plus had a great sale on Four Paws Wee-Wee Pads, now after some use and after the excitement of them actually using the pads I started to become a tad disappointed. You pay a good dollar for these pads and I started to notice things, the size is smaller than the other pads and the 23x23 size meant I had to use 2 of them in my crates and on a side note the actual size of usable pad is 21x21. They are pretty thin and I have felt dampness on the underside of these pads which is a problem since they were sitting on carpet( I have since bought crate replacement trays). When the pups went tinkle it would just sit on the top of the fabric and pool before actually soaked in allowing the pups to walk thru it and tracking it on my carpet. When the female went tinkle she pretty much use up a good portion of the pad so I was changing them often so the price savings now has gone out the door. I also found there was no odor control with these pads.

So now I have tried Four Paws Wee-Wee pads, Dynarex Under pads(worst),Simply Right Super Absorbent under pads(very good-still use) and Natures Miracle Advanced Wee Pads(still use)and find Natures Miracle Advanced Ultra is the best by far for doggie wee pads!

I have to admit I am impressed on how absorbent Natures Miracle Advanced Ultra turned out to be. They claim to hold 6 cups of liquid and I believe it, this is the only pad with Polymer in it, Polymer helps absorption and keeps the spread of the liquid to a minimum getting more use out of the pad, this pad is also fantastic at keeping odor absorbed. I find Petsmart is the only place I can get these pads in-store in my area. The pad size is larger than the other wee pads at 27x23 compared to 23x24 and Natures usable pad area is pretty close to the 27x23 size where the other pads can be up to 4inches smaller in usable area size (so your 23x24 pad is actually 19x21 inches)because the blue border is non-absorbent and not usable(Dynarex brand)!! I just bought Natures Miracle Advanced Ultra on sale at Petsmart, 100pads for $39 which is a great price but I only use these in my crate due to that high price and for visit at friends houses. For daily use, I now go with Simply Right Super Absorbent 23x36 under pads from Sam's club which is also a very good product, not bad at keeping odor at bay, the size fits replacement crate trays, more room for 2 pups to use and best of all the cheap price tag of $24 for 120 pads and they are sold in-store, no need to order online. I will admit I would use these pads again if need be but there is no real savings in them as you do use more.
