I have been using these pads since my dog was a puppy. This is also the most economical site I have ever found them on. Potty training was a breeze. I also use the tray and would recommend it. It can go anywhere with you. I have a disability so she is trained to use the tray with pads in a discreet part of the house. I tried cheaper brands, but this pad dries so quickly you can get multiple uses. A trick for training. Buy a can of Cheese Whiz. Each time your puppy does it's business give it a little cheese to lick off your finger-it really works!! And do not worry you will not be doing this forever. My dog who is my service dog only needed the extra praise for a short amount of time-we never had accidents either.

These are so much better than any other training pads I have used. I bought these when I found them at a good price. When I first started with them I noticed my puppy would used to more than the other brands and I also noticed that the floor stayed dry. Well I ran out and had a few of my old brand left. I got home from work and the pad was soaked through and dripped everywhere when I threw it away. The only annoying thing with these is that I can not find them locally so I have to use the old ones until the Paw Trax get here. She has been playing with the old ones as well and making an even bigger mess with the fluff that is in them. I highly recommend Paw Trax!

This is a great product. I use the tray and the pads.I have a 14-1/2 year old 9 lb dachshund. She is blind and has trouble with her back legs. She is in good health otherwise. I started using these pads and tray in January 2010. You can definitely teach an old dog new tricks. She tells me when she has to go and I take her to the tray and she does her thing. No mess or anything. I changed the pads once a day and put in the garbage. I always wipe the tray with a clorax wipe to keep it fresh. This is a great invention and I think it would be great for new puppy training.

We tried this with our new puppy and gave it a good month of effort. We even discussed it with our dog trainer thinking we were doing something wrong. We could not get the puppy to use these, which is a shame since it would have been so nice when we travel. We wasted money and training time on this one, our dog would not use it.

This product is great for people with two or more dogs. It seems very strong, which is nice because my dogs like to pull it pretty hard every once in a while. It was a little bigger than I expected, but still works. My dogs are 7 and 10lbs, right now, and it works for them...and I think it would work for medium size dogs even better.

This item is exactly as I pictured it to be, my dogs are 60lbs each and the 24" might have been a little to long 18" would have probably been better but it works fine.

Tried this CD 3 days ago and noticed a huge difference in my terrier Max. He gets freaked everytime I go to work. Hear Doggy Dog Toy

When I received this toy I was shocked at how large it is. It's a big, round ball of a toy. My dog is a standard poodle tall, but not large. I thought it would be too big a toy for her, but not at all. She LOVES it.

The squeaker sounds like the noise when you squeeze an empty turkey baster or something. Slight squeal of air. Dog goes nuts over it, though. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the squeaker is small compared to the size of the toy and the dog gets frustrated at not being able to find the squeaker. The squeaker moves around inside the toy, and after several minutes with no success in finding it the dog will drop the toy and grab one that is easier for her to squeak (meaning one I can hear not cool).

This is also just a plush toy, so I don't think I'd recommend this for dogs that like to dissect their toys. This one would be a goner in 3 minutes. My dog almost never dissects or chews her toys (she has plush toys over a year old still in good condition), but she goes so crazy trying to squeak the thing that I don't know how long this one is going to last.

It's a good size for me to throw, it's usable in the house as it's soft and light, and I don't mind throwing it for her while I'm watching TV because I can't hear it. So all in all this one's a winner.

My dog really loves this, I love it because you can not hear the thing squeak. You only hear a pffft pfft. Noise.

This is a great idea for a toy. It only makes a little sound, like if you were to blow out a single candle, but it satisfies our dog's passion to make toys squeak. We were going crazy with all of the squeaking our dog was making but this is now his favorite toy and he hasn't touched any of the others.

This toy is very rugged as well, he's able to destroy other toys easily but hasn't damaged this one at all.

My 3 cats don't care for these at all. I bought dried salmon treats from Petsmart before and my cats could not get enough of them. Of course those are more expensive and they are actually orange in color. These treats are dark brown and greasy and i very much question what they are made of.

Simple Solution Puppy Aid Training Spray, 8 Ounces

After a little over a week of trying to puppy litter train my puppy she just wasn't getting it. My puppy is an American Eskimo they are very intelligent but also can be VERY stubborn. The first couple of days we tried just putting her in the potty but she didn't want to use it. I had read to try putting a box around the litter so they aren't able to run off and play when it's potty time. So we tried that the second half of the week Well my puppy ended up just playing IN the potty and even laying down to nap and our theory is that she ended up seeing it just like a second crate and so she did not want to potty in it (she loves her crate and was crate trained from the.first.night.)

So THEN we bought a puppy pad (didn't work she tore it up) and this spray. We also removed the litterbox from the surrounding box and tried just putting it out on the floor again.. She went in the litter box, sniffed, circled twice, and started going in her potty..! For the first time..! (She had gone a couple of times "finishing" after we caught her but that was very rare usually she would just hold it and run off and go somewhere else 2 minutes later). Since then she has only had 1 urine accident I think she was just overly excited and about 60% of the time she is going number 2 in her potty as well (this spray only teaches them to go #1). In a short while she should be 100% trained on number 2 as well.

My dog went from 0-80 like *that* and I truly was amazed with this product. From reading the reviews [..] I have noticed those that had trouble with the product were those using the pads. The pads already have a scent so it probably confuses them even more. Also I spray alot and I spray more a few times a day just to make sure.. I reccomend trying with the litter if the pads or pads + spray are not working. They still like to chew on the litter but the pads they love to DESTROY and rip to shreds instead of going potty on them lol.

Also another tip if your dog doesn't take to it the first time don't give up maybe they don't even have to go at the moment or they could just be a slow learner.

May work for some dogs but not mine.

I ended up training her without it.

I do think you'd be better off buying a house-breaking or puppy manual book.

I just:

Was attentive and patient. If you can't watch the dog then you won't be able to correct it. How then will the dog be trained?

Put her in her spot and give her treats/praise profusely when she goes in the right area. My 'Mimi Rose' learns very quickly when treats are involved. She learned how to 'sit' in a single 20-minute session! No joke.

Positive reinforcement always works.

Verbally corrected when I saw her do her business in the wrong spot. Don't scream at or hit the dog. Just say, 'No' in a firm voice and/or clap your hands.

Cleaned the soiling spots with vinegar to remove scent.

Placed her on a feeding/water schedule until she was housebroken. She eats 3 times a day. Her dinner is at 8pm. Her bedtime is at 11 pm.

Implemented crate-training and fenced her off in 'play areas'. An untrained dog has NO business having free run of the house.

She got it before long.

My pup still runs towards me when she does her business in the correct spot expecting a treat.

I tried multiple times. Does not work as stated. Works for older dogs that need to be trained but the idea is flawed. They will go where you spray it, but will go everywhere else too. It really depends on the dog/puppy. May or may not work. Worth a try.

Well, I have to say this is a really good deal. I have just had to replace the batteries in the handset. I put new ones in the collar at the same time. Another Amazon dealer MYBATTERYSUPPLIER has a great deal on batteries and free shipping. You will need to order two cards as they have 5 on a card and the handset uses two at a time. Not connected with either company, just a happy customer.

The people complaining about short battery life are probably not using this correctly. I use this daily and it only takes about a 1/2 second click to get the dog's attention. Once you have that, then you can instruct with a command. I think people must be using this thing like a club and beating the dog up with it. Don't forget that after a battery change you need to "link" the handset and collar so save the instructions.

The 300 Meter range is well believable. I am only guessing the distance but around 900-feet has worked several times, thanks largely to the 12v handset. In transmitting, voltage is everything. Once he was chasing after three Coyotes and had I not had the control, he would have been a goner with several Coyotes on him. Fortunately after a quick zap he turned and ran back to me.

A couple of minor dislikes. The standby period on the handset is very short at about 2 minutes. The collar has a movement sensor so it is on all the time the dog is moving. To revive the handset you have to hold down a button for 10 seconds and that can be a long wait when you need it urgently. I now check the display and if it has just gone off, a quick click of the Mode button revives it instantly. I'd like to see a switch or a longer shut-off delay.

The other thing is the battery cover on the handset keeps falling off. I now have some sticky tape to hold it on. Not that big a deal since it looks like I am getting about a months work out of a set of batteries, I can afford an inch of sticky tape each time.

I still rate it at 5-stars.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: May 26th, 2011

Really fast shipping to my PO box. Instructions are clear and easily readable. I bought this to replace a $140 Name-Brand one with rechargeable batteries. The built-in battery in the collar died within 3 months and Name-Brand wanted $40 for a replacement as batteries have no warranty.

This unit came with all the batteries needed and it was ready to use in about 2 minutes. Make sure you FIRST read how to "link" the handset with the collar. It is simple to do, but will save frustration if you do not first link the two things electrically. To check the "link," press the "Mode" button for Vibrate and set the level at 10. Press the "Launch" button and watch it dance on the desk. If it doesn't dance then go back and "link" again. You will have to link with every battery change on the collar, but not on the handset. It's a single button click so no big deal.

I set the Static level to 5, put my fingers across the pins on the collar and pressed the "Launch" button on the handset. There is a tiny delay, maybe quarter of a second then the zap. It comes with a test light but I like testing these things with my fingers to see how high or low the numbers adjust the intensity. I figure if I am going to zap the dog it is only fair I get the occasional zap too, albeit at a lower level than the dog.

Both collar and handset have auto-off. You need to hold down the "Mode" button on the handset for 10-secs to wake it. The collar needs a little shake, just picking it up is not enough to wake it. Once it is on the dog it will be no problem wake up or stay awake. :)

I attached the collar to the dog (stubborn 80-lb Lab-Pit mix, but the sweetest guy) and off we went. I set the handset at 20 and gave a burst. The dog was startled but did not yelp. I went up by 10 until he yelped and then came back 10 and left it at that setting.

Normally I don't need to use the zapper as he responds to voice and treat commands really well, but we live out in the country on 160 acres with rabbits, snakes, lizards, mice, gophers, Coyotes etc. Unfortunately they are all too much of a distraction for the dog so I need the zapper for those times just to grab his attention. We did some training and he responded brilliantly with three rabbits and the lizard we encountered.

If you have never used or been shown how to use these types of trainers please go to YouTube etc and watch some videos as they need only be used very sparingly. They are used to get the dog's attention, not to punish him/her for not doing something. Treats are used to get them to do whatever you want them to do. So, basically it is Zap, Command and treat on completion. Most times the zap will not be needed unless they have lost focus. A dog's attention span is 1 second or 1 step whichever comes first.

It's only been two days, but already I am happy to give it five stars. I have no problems recommending this unit and the Amazon retailer.

I ordered this collar set and was dissapointed to find that it only worked up to 16 inches from the transmitter. I contacted the seller through Amazon email and I must say they were very polite and very cooperative. I had to pay for return shipping and, once received, they sent out a replacement set. When I received it, I found that it didn't work at all. It would not pair up with the receiver. I am once again in process of returning it and possibly getting another. Once again, they are very helpful and friendly, just not sure about the quality of this product. I will update again once everything is exchanged.

Works ok but collar has to be just right to get the shock to work. Vibrate works better. Main complaint is that it says both parts are powered by AAA batteries, which isn't true. The collars are but the remote is powered by 2 4A76 6V batteries. The ones that came with it lasted 3 days of moderate use. It turns off on its own so the remote was probably on less than an hour. Went to 6 stores, including 3 specialty stores, and can't find the batteries to power the remote. I found them online but now I have to wait a week to get them. I wouldnt buy this again just for the hassle or at least buy extra batteries when you purchase the system.

The remote that goes with this collar is very cheaply made and has some inconvenient features. The remote turns off after 2 minutes of not being used to conserve battery power. This means that the next time the behavior occurs and you need the remote you have to hold the button down for 3-4 seconds to turn it on AND since the button which turns it on is also the same button which changes the stimulus mode (i.e., beep, vibrate, or shock) every time you turn it on you have also changed the mode. So not only do you have to wait 3-4 seconds to turn it on but you also have to scroll through the mode options (another 3-4 seconds) to select the one you are using with your dog before you can deliver the stimulus to correct the behavior. I used this wire to fence of a two acre area for our dogs.

Main points if you don't want to read through the entire review.

1) Use this wire if you don't want to search for breaks and splice your fence repeatedly.

2) This wire has a thicker casing than the yellow wire that you get with a fence kit.

3) It seems to give a stronger signal than the yellow wire. (Not tested. I noticed it by observing my dogs' responses to the signal)

I used this wire to replace the underground fence that I installed three years ago. When I installed the old fence I used the red twisted wire and the yellow solid wire.

About half the fence runs through my yard the other half runs through the woods on my property and about a 100 feet trough my pond. The twisted wire made up about three quarters of the length of the old fence. For the rest of the old fence I used the yellow solid wire.

I buried the part that runs through my yard. I stapled the part that runs through the woods with landscape staplers. I sunk the part that runs through my pond with cement blocks. (I did the same with the new fence)

The twisted wire failed at five different places during the three years. I had to splice it and all the splices caused the signal to become too weak to trigger the receivers properly.

The yellow wire performed well in the old system.

I decide to replace the whole system.

I decided to use only solid wire for the fence. I received 500 feet solid yellow wire with the kit that I bought. My goal was to have as few splices as possible. I felt that the twisted wire is not worth the effort for my application. I bought two of these 1000 feet rolls of black wire to finish the fence. This wire is thicker than the yellow wire. I had to splice the fence at only two places. I used the water resistant splice kits for that.

The fence works very well and my dogs mind the fence again. It seems to me that the black wire gives out a stronger signal than the yellow wire. I have not tested this scientifically but by observing my dogs. It seems that they get closer to the fence on the yellow wire part than on the black wire part before they hear the warning beeps. For that reason I am going to replace the yellow wire part with black wire so that the entire fence is made up of this black wire.

Since I wrote the review I did replace the yellow wire with another role of this black wire. The fence now consists completely of this black wire and it is performing well. I am satisfied that I made the correct decision to use this wire for the entire fence.

When I searched for 14 gauge wire this popped up. I assumed it would be 14 gauge because of the search criteria, and since it was listed as heavy duty. Nope, just 20 gauge, but better shielding. Other than that it works fine.

If having 1 roll of 100 feet wire, or having the color black is important to you, this product is not for you.

I love the size and length of this leash. It's exactly right. I can keep my dog at my side very easily, but I don't need constant tension on the leash while walking normally.

Unfortunately, the actual fabric of the handle is rough and will start to chafe your hand if you use it for too long. It also doesn't feel as durable as a regular nylon leash.

I wasn't crazy about all the kiddy designs, either, but that wasn't a big deal. I would have given it 5 stars if it were made out of a more skin-friendly material.

This is the second one I've purchased. Excellent workmanship and high quality leather. The collar works like a choker but offers a softer touch that doesn't bite into the dog. I also like it because it doesn't pick up hair nor does it mat the dog's coat. I bought two because I have two Anatolian Shepherds that I tether to a tandem lead. The collars work perfectly as I have total control of the dogs at all times. BTW, I have the matching leash that also has the same high workmanship and is quite soft and sturdy in the hand. Excellent value on all accounts.

Dog Collar with LED Lights, Multi-Function

This is the best collar for my small terrier I have found for the following reasons:

1. It is very light in weight. Almost next to nothing compared to other collars.

2. There is no large, heavy metal buckle to deal with.

3. This collar has 5 very bright lights compared to other small collars that have 3 or at most 4 lights.

4. The on/off switch is not as large as it appears in the photograph because;

5. The collar itself is only 3/4 inch wide as compared to 1 inch wide with other brands.

6. Batteries are already installed so you just remove the clear plastic pull tab and it's ready to use.

7. When he wears it at night there is one light on the back of his neck and two lights on both sides of his neck.

This gives him all around visibility at night and you can see him from a long ways off.

For a small dog these items add up to a collar that is more appropriate for his size.

I must admit that with this small collar I did modify it for him by removing the plastic buckle and sizing it down to his 13 inch neck size. I then saddle stitched it to a perfect fit so it will just slide over his neck. I did this with a speedy stitcher.

I really can't be any happier with this collar for him. It's just perfect for him. I don't need to worry about someone not seeing him at night.

Millie the Dog and I thought this was the greatest blinking collar ever for the 4 to 5 weeks that we had it. She wore it only for her night walks which were about 20 minute long. Then the battery failed. Bought new batteries which proved impossible to install. Needless to say we are very disappointed that collar/ battery functioned for such a short time.

Weave Pole Guides

The wires were already bent a certain way and were useless on my weave poles. I guess I got what I asked for... Cheap weave pole wires. On the other hand, everything arrived promptly.

Guardian Gear 2-Way Coupler Mailbu - Blue

Got it for my small dog and a puppy. They ended up strangling each other and getting tangled etc. I returned it. Would be better for 2 larger dogs same size.

I'm going to try to keep this review straight and to the point, as I don't use the product much, but not to the fault of it.

This coupler is strong and really larger than I expected. I put my growing 40 lb puppy on one side and my full-grown 10 lb girl on the other. They immediately tangled around each other and tugged each other one way and the other. So, we definitely need some training before we can use it properly. But I have to give the coupler credit where credit is due. Even with the big puppy pulling with all his weight, there was no buckling, tearing, or separating. With a bit of dog training, this seems like a really helpful tool when you have more than one dog and don't want to tear your hand apart with multiple leashes.

Also, the color is gorgeous :)

I bought this coupler because the dimensions said 1.5" under Product Description->Product Dimensions, but when I received it, it was 5/8". I reread the description, and it did state that it was 5/8". For small to medium dogs, this would be great! I would stick with a coupler 1" or bigger for larger dogs.

Really digging this set-up. Glad I bought it! Love the color options that are available. The only downside is getting my little dog to be better with it. She gets wrapped under my big dog and he doesn't like that.

ABC's of Behavior Shaping; Proactive Behavior Management Seminar DVD Set

You are getting a lot of information for your 5 hours of viewing. What this doesn't give you and what is really needed is a web link to where you can get a copy of the notes from this seminar. This was originally taped in 1996 and was a weekend seminar with Patty Ruzzo and Leslie Nelson also presenting.

If you're really into the science of behavior then Ted will clearly outline all the reasons why things work and don't work. He backs up examples with real life experiences from working with a variety of animals and the mistakes that he has made in the past.

A lot of what Ted was talking about in 1996 has since been used very effectively by a lot of dog trainers in developing a variety of programs. If you've ever wondered where some of the information came from, here's a good starting point for finding it.

One thing that hasn't continued since this seminar was the thought of starting your dog out as a puppy on a variable rate of reinforcement and rewards while teaching behaviors. Why did this get lost? I could imagine that a lot of owners would have less ring issues if they had followed Ted's suggestion in this. This whole section really needs more than I can give you here.

I also like how Ted suggested that you should be training your dog a variety of behaviors. Not just teaching for the obedience ring, but including tracking and agility and play in their repetoire of trained behaviors.

Worth the time and money. Yes, there are some video/audio issues from the original recording but not bad for the technology ten years ago.

Dean and Tyler Wire Basket Muzzle, Size No. B1 - Small Boxer

I bought this muzzle to stop our 40 pound Am Staff mix from eating 'stuff' in the yard. On one of the side straps, the leather split around the rivet leaving the muzzle useless. The leather gets very thin on the ends of both of the side straps, a serious design flaw. A dog with any level of determination will break this muzzle in no time. For this price...very disappointing!! If you need a serious muzzle, keep shopping!

Muzzle is sturdy and good quality. Still in the introduction phase with my pit bull- treats for putting her nose in it. Going very slowly as she is wary but hope to be able to use when I have house guests this summer.

Vasquez Collars Leather Puppy Collar

This puppy collar is just great really protects the pups neck and allows you to begin the training process immediately and they are conditioned by the sound of the chain from an early age. After my pup got bigger I purchased the larger leather collar from Vasquez and continued the training process. I never liked the pronged collars or choke collars and this works more effective than any other training collar out there. Give it a try you won't be sorry.

This is a great collar when you have to use a training collar that protects dog's neck. This will not injure your dog, but allow control for walking and training purposes. I recommend it for any small dog. From the fist moment I tried it, I had a lot better control. I had been using a harness, but harnesses tend to reenforce pulling from my dog. My vet does not want me to use any kind of a choker collar, but agreed this one will not harm the dog. If you are looking for a collar that provides protection for your dogs neck, and gives you control over you dog, try this. It has been the best and only collar that works and provides protection for their sensitive necks.
