Smokehouse 100-Percent Natural Prime Chips Chicken and Turkey Dog Treats, 16-Ounce

Since purchasing these treats, I have learned that Smokehouse has been using chicken from China. Aside from toxic waste being used in chicken treats from China....I found these treats petrified!!!! My dogs refused to eat them. They are small 10 to 15 lb dogs and usually dive on a treat this size. I am wary of Smokehouse treats of any kind now and will not purchase them in the future. I can make my own dried chicken treats in my dehydrator and know exactly what my pets are eating. I do not recommend this brand to any dog unless cleared by USDA/FDA.

My dog has been enjoying these for quite some time, I like they are made in usa, but last time ordered them, there was a change, still made is usa, but they are about 1/2 the size they use to be and twice as hard, so unless your poochie has a really strong bite/jaw, I would not recommend, being so hard if not chewed very well, risk of sharp edged, she gagged on these so they went in trash a shame as they are usa made and she loved them until they changed shape and hardness

These chips are so hard my Schnauzers could not even chew or bite through them. The package had an open spot on the side that I noticed later that could have caused them to dry out.

My dog loves these treats and I really like them since they are crunchy, good for his teeth. They are also easy to bring along when you travel. I would recommend trying these. I have an extremely picky dog and he seems to loves these treats.

I have a pit bull who pulls a lot! I've tried choke chains, harnesses, gentle leaders, haltis, nothing worked! She would just pull and make her skin raw! This works miracles. Even if she runs full speed at a squirrel I don't get pulled. It makes my walks so much more relaxing. KONG Puppy Kong Dog Toy, Medium, Pink

My puppy is an Australian Shepherd. Not only are they known for their hyper activity, but also curiosity and boredom can really get them in trouble. Puppy Kongs have been a lifesaver! When my puppy is bouncing off of the walls, making a ton of noise and will not settle down when it's time to settle, I make sure there is a stuffed kong waiting and ready to toss his way. This keeps his attention for quite a while. He lays down with it, settles down and keeps quiet. This also keeps him from getting in trouble like digging in my plants, getting into cabinets or chewing on furniture. Also, I have another stuffed one on hand for the times that we leave the house in the morning for work. While he's in the crate working on it, we can sneak out of the house without causing any anxiety problems.

I have stuffed them with several things. Since he's outgrown his small size and now is into the medium size, I can vary what is stuffed inside. I can soak some of his puppy food in warm water and spoon some of the soft food inside. I throw in some cheerios, little bits of cheese, left overs of chicken and some mashed potatoes, cream cheese, and peanut butter for some ideas. I also use Kong's Stuffn Peanut Butter flavor to seal off the opening (icing on the cake), and I've used Kong's puppy biscuits inside. I've also broken up some other dog cookies. It's fun to just get creative with it. The more you switch it up, the more amazing the Kong is to your puppy.

Make it last longer by keeping them in the freezer! I keep a few in rotation, stuffed and frozen, waiting in the freezer for that moment a Kong can really come in handy.

Our 4-moth-old puppy keeps coming back to this chew toy, especially when filled with a Kong Stuffin Snack.

I have a 12 year old Spaniel. She has never been interested in toys or playing fetch. I initially bought this for my puppy that is coming home in a few months not even thinking that my Spaniel would enjoy such a thing. I filled it up with some kibble and her favorite food peanut butter and she spent a few minutes slobbering and licking the Kong until I decided to let her outside with her new toy. She stayed outside for 40 minutes!! (She's the type that will go potty and a minute later will bark like she's in danger to come in). I love this toy! I now give my Spaniel a frozen Kong for a snack in the afternoon and she loves it.

Additional notes: I have a 38lb Spaniel and I bought the medium puppy toy. The size is just right for her, the plastic seems indestructible. I toss the Kong in the dishwasher when it needs a cleaning.

We have been buying the various dog treat products that Blue Dog Bakery manufactures for the last 4 years.

We have three dogs that we rescued: "Sampson" an 11 year old American Rough Collie, "Delilah" a 10 year old "Golden Retriever" and "Bear" a 5 year old Great Pyrenees. They go crazy over these treats. We needed a solution for my in-laws who had a fence that allowed our dog to sneak through to visit neighboring dogs. This product was the perfect answer, and doesn't both the dog in the slightest. I think it took about 2 minutes for him to get comfy with it... now I think he enjoys it as he tends to use it as a pillow! Well made, perfect for our needs.

The Good:

The price. At around 1/2 to 1/4 the price of name brand underground dog fences, the price seemed right.

Lots of wire included, enough for over 1 acre.

It works.... for the most part.

The instructions had some broken english, but overall they were very clear and helpful.

The Bad:

I unfortunately have had one bad experience after another, starting when I opened the box. The generic, ugly box (with no brand name printed on it) just screams "CHEAP." When you open it up and look at the contents, you find the same dissapointment. The receiver is super cheap plastic, the wire is literally the width of fishing line (pathetically thin and weak). The flags are few and cheap as well.

The flags included (only 20) are very cheaply made. The flag pole is cheap, thin plastic that seems like a simple fountain drink straw (terribly difficult to get in the ground).

The receiver doesn't work well sometimes it powers the wire well, other times it doesn't I constantly have to play with it.

That cheap wire I mentioned earlier? Man what a pain! Because it's so thin it kept getting tangled and giving me all sorts of hassles. I ended up ripping it out of the ground and running to my local Tractor Supply to buy heavier gauge wire. Much better! (extra $35 though)

The collars aren't that great. They have a hard time picking up a signal from the wires, yet the moment the dog steps in the house with the collar on, one of our appliances sets it off! To be fair, the manual warns you about this possibility, but it's still very annoying.

My personal recommendation would be to pay the extra $70 or so to purchase a better, name-brand system. This one is bound to give you headaches as it did me, and if you're going to put in all the hard work to install the system, why not get one you trust to last a long time? If you're looking for a simple and cheap system and have a very (very) small yard, feel free to try it out, just don't say I didn't warn you!

But when they dart out in the road,and a car comes zooming down the street,

your heart just drops thinking this may be the last time,and the car brakes hard ,just barley missing you beloved dog! gosh don't you just hate that sickening feeling.

I bought this item,and it was shipped before said time,the Manuel was a little hard to understand!

but if you read the complete book over twice,you will figure it out, its not that bad!now that i am done.

do not put these collars on your dog without the transmitter turned on!

And do not leave the collars on them all the time!because certain things in the house, can cause interference,and could possibly shock your dog,so please read the book thoroughly!!

update i didn't even have to bury the wire,i just laid it on the ground,and and after thoroughly checking the system and the lay out!

with the test lights that they provide!they also give you little white flags,to put out in the yard,so that when you 1st here the beep, put down a flag and show your dog , bad flag bad!then back off the area! and play with your dog,let him get comfortable, then, i am sorry, but you have to let him get shocked, once or twice to teach him,but they catch on quick!!

No more dashing out, across the road,not even after the cat , or a squirrel !!!

after awhile you can just turn it off, they learn the boundaries quick!

but once in awhile you have to put the collar back on,once in awhile to remind them of the danger of crossing the road! If you love your dog, and they just cant refuse ,running out after squirrels or cats this will stop them

cold!!!!

I have been using these treats for years. I believe that dogs need some organ meat in their diets and I actually add these to their food (which is all homemade, FYI). Be careful to calculate the cost on the different sized bags. Apparently Amazon, or Pooch Passions is not concerned with saving the planet by reducing packaging materials and shipping costs. The smaller sized 14 oz. bag 1s currently the best price per ounce (11/27/08). It's a shame. I would have ordered the largest size bag if not.

My 15 year old cat has IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease) and is on a limited ingredient diet. I bought this for him since duck is the protein source of choice for him. I got these because I have an elderly cat with both Diabetes and Inflammatory Bowel Disease and I was glad to find a ' novel protein' low-carb treat for him. He was glad too -he loves them. My two kittens can be quite picky with treats, but these things bring out their inner wild ocelot. One bats it around all over the house like half-dead prey for twenty minutes, while the littler one sits in the corner gnawing on it and snarling to break it down and keep it away from other predators. Who knew indoor cats could get this way over a simple treat. These duck hearts are on the big side (for cats or small dogs), but my two kittens seem to like the challenge of taking the time to chomp them down. They're pretty easy to cut into smaller pieces with a butter knife, if you do want to give them bite sized pieces. All in all, I highly recommend!

Kurgo Quantum Dog Leash

I bought this leash a few weeks ago from a local pet shop and I'll be returning it today. It is absolutely the WORST leash I have ever owned.

It seemed like a great idea and innovative design, but the fancy-looking clip is a serious safety hazard. The way the clip is designed means anything but the widest of collar/harness rings will wedge into the closure and pop it open. I nearly lost my foster puppy using this leash. It popped right off of his harness. I really thought I must've put it on wrong, but then it happened again, so I clipped it to a spare collar and pulled a bit, and off it popped.

This is a SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW that could end in DEATH for your dog, especially if you've got one that hasn't yet learned that cars are no good to chase. Shame on Kurgo for marketing something this unreliable to responsible pet owners.

This leash is great, and comparable to others that sell for $50 or more. Hmm, that sounds like an infomercial, but what the heck it's true.

My favorite configuration is a loop that I can sling over my shoulder with a bit of slack so my boy can move. It's been great for working with him on leash manners and I think it would be fantastic for runners, walkers, or anyone who wants to walk the dog but keep their hands free.

The padded handle is a good idea, but not terribly well executed. I think it would be better if it were a tube that the leash ran through. As it is now it can get bunched up and twisted. But this leash would be just as good with it removed, so I can't take off any points for that.

What keeps this from being a 5-star product is the hardware. The carabiner is a little cheaper than I'd like and I may upgrade it, but my problem is with the main clasp. It's heavy-duty, but the design is such that unlike a clasp with a retractable pin, the ring on the dog's could get in a position where pulling on the leash could cause the clasp to open ironically especially so with the Kurgo collar my guy has. I don't think this is that likely to happen, and I'd still recommend this leash, but it does mean it only gets 4 stars from me.

Kurgo makes high-quality products and I don't think you will be disappointed with this leash.

This leash is very cool. I love it because you can change lengths, adjust the handle, and it seems to be very sturdy. I haven't got to use it much yet though, because I got it to go with the matching harness and my Boxer baby doesn't quite fit in the Large sized harness I ordered her yet.

But, I have to update my review and change my rating. Although, all the above said is still true, I am sending this back. My dog has gotten loose from this leash several times now. Luckily, I was always able to get her before she really realized she was even loose. The clasp just doesn't clasp tightly and she can pull herself loose, without even trying.

This leash was exactly what I was looking for until my dog managed to come unhooked. The clasp didn't fasten securely and she got loose twice in 15 minutes. I had to use the carabiner end to hook her to the leash for the remainder of the walk (not the ideal setup). Sending it back.

I didn't expect much beyond a few months use until I could find something I really like but after using this leash for a few weeks I think this will last me much longer. This is the 6th leash I've purchased in the last 2-3 years and it's by far the best constructed and useful one of the bunch. It's also one of the least costly of the group as well. Before it showed up I read other reviews about the quality of the clip and expected something that I would replace, but after it arrived I found it to be plenty strong. I don't know what that reviewer expected but if your dog pulls hard enough to break this you need to learn how to train your dog because your going to be dragged to your death. I do agree that the padded handle is not very effective when used in over the shoulder mode and I can see the plastic clip on that part breaking with age. We are in the market for a second dog so we've already went ahead and ordered a second one of these leashes in a different color.

Dean and Tyler Wire Basket Muzzle, Size No. B1 - Small Boxer

I bought this muzzle to stop our 40 pound Am Staff mix from eating 'stuff' in the yard. On one of the side straps, the leather split around the rivet leaving the muzzle useless. The leather gets very thin on the ends of both of the side straps, a serious design flaw. A dog with any level of determination will break this muzzle in no time. For this price...very disappointing!! If you need a serious muzzle, keep shopping!

Muzzle is sturdy and good quality. Still in the introduction phase with my pit bull- treats for putting her nose in it. Going very slowly as she is wary but hope to be able to use when I have house guests this summer.
