Puppy Training Pads, 23" x 24"

Great pads, great service and great amount for a puppy at a great price.

These pads are ok. They are medical underpads usually used for people who are incontinant. They are a good size but not as absorbant as most regular Dog/Puppy training pads I am used to using. Being a medical pad they do not have any kind of attractant in them. My dog is older and pad trained but he doesn't seem to like this thinner pad. I also don't think that it holds the liquid in as well as a pad that is a bit thicker.

I bought these from Sam's Club based on the reviews everywhere for my puppies. The fact they are larger then the Wee brand pet pads and had polymer in them like Natures Miracle which I love except for the price I tried them. I am totally disappointed and to tell you the truth I would never ever use these for a person they would be laying in thier own urine! According to Dynarex's website these do not have the polymer but I called since some stores are advertising them this way and the girl at the actualy company Dynarex assured me yes it does. I don't see it, my 4lb puppy went and the whole pad was used up by one use! The actual pad you use is not 23x24 but only 19x20 inches the rest is the blue useless sides.making them very small yet another disappointment. You need to use twice as many so the deal you think you are getting you are not as you need to use twice the amount. I used them for one day and just returned them, no you do not get the shipping you paid for them either so don't order alot like I did thinking I was getting a great product! I am now trying the Simple Right brand 23x36 that you can purchase in store to see how these work out.

These pads are much too thin for in house use unless the puppy is very little. The edges did not keep the liquid contained.

Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Fawn

purchased one for each dog, but the smaller one keeps coming loose and has to be readjusted often. other than that, they actually do keep the dogs from pulling and choking themselves.

Although sometimes difficult to put on, this is the single best tool to use in training and safety for your dog. Unlike most standard collars or other harnesses that pull mainly on the neck area. This does not do that at all. The motion for pulling is around the waist. It may seem strange at first but this is the only way a harness should be used

Holt Walking Headcollar - Size 3 in Black

I won't rant and rave about the benefits and drawbacks of using a headcollar each dog is different and responds differently to various training tools, and I'm assuming that you've found this product based off your own research and recommendations from trainers and friends.

The hard part is deciding which headcollar type to use. In the past decade, I've used several different headcollars, including the Halti, the Gentle Leader, the Petmate AKC Headcollar, and the Holt. In my opinion, the Holt is the sturdiest, most comfortable, and most flexible headcollar of the whole bunch, and is a worthy successor to my previous favorite, the Halti.

The Halti was, previously, the best halter for a very simple reason: it had side-straps on either side of the dog's face that prevented the noseband from riding up a dog's face and digging into the dog's eyes. It also worked without cinching the dog's mouth shut, like the Gentle Leader. However, the noseband was not padded, and while I made my own homemade padding for the noseband, it was at least very wide to prevent the material from biting into the dog's skin (unlike the Gentle Leader). The Halti generally came only in black, though colors could be found online. The Halti, despite being designed to function loose (and allowing a dog the full use of its mouth), often made your dog look "vicious" by wearing a "muzzle", particularly in the black color. Prior to the holt, this was the most comfortable.

HALTI PROS: comfort, looseness, prevents noseband from riding up, safety buckle connects to collar

HALTI CONS: limited colors, no padded noseband, can not be cinched tight for short-nose breeds

Gentle Leader Head Collar, Size: Small, Color: Royal Blue

The Gentle Leader, however, was the choice for short-nosed breeds. The Halti suffered when a shorter-snouted dog pawed at the noseband to remove it. The Gentle Leader's design cinched the dog's mouth closed with a locking mechanism, allowing it to be used snugly on short-nosed breeds. For standard-shaped noses, the cinching could be kept more loose to allow for more comfort. It did not have the side straps like the Halti, so it could ride up into the dog's eyes. The noseband was narrow and not padded (unless you shell out extra $ for the premium version not found in stores), so it bit into the dog's skin at the top of the nose. However, it came in multiple colors which helped it look less like a muzzle.

Petmate 3/4-Inch by 16-24-Inch Medium AKC Padded Dog Halter, Brown

New to the game was the Petmate AKC-branded headcollar. This came in many colors and was pre-fitted with a fleece padded noseband. The noseband color is always brown, and there are additional options for colors of the straps. This headcollar looked the least like a muzzle. However, the locking mechanism was not sturdy and would often slide, allowing dogs (even long-nosed breeds) to paw the noseband off their face. It also did not come with a safety strap to connect the headcollar to a dog's normal buckle collar (though one could be homemade very easily). It also buckles underneath the neck, rather than on the side of the face.

Now, onto the Holt. The Holt is identical to the Halti except for two key features: a "camlock" and a foam-padded noseband. The camlock is a very tight locking mechanism that does NOT budge when the dog paws at the noseband. It is a great tool to keep the headcollar ON your dog. For short-nosed breeds, the camlock can be set tight and will stay in place. It has the same great features of the halti to prevent the noseband from riding up into the eyes, and the safety strap to connect the headcollar to a buckle collar. In addition, the noseband is padded with black foam material, not fleece, and is extremely soft and comfortable. It is sewn on the underside of the headcollar, and does not interrupt the color (can not be seen while the dog is wearing the headcollar). The Holt comes in a variety of colors, including red, pink, and blue.

HOLT PROS: extremely comfortable, foam padded noseband, noseband doesn't ride up into eyes, camlock keeps noseband in place even with short-nosed breeds, multiple colors

HOLT CONS: ???

If you are considering a headcollar to train your dog, I highly recommend the Holt for all breeds. It is a worthy successor to the Halti and addresses the cons of that headcollar.

WE used to use these on the dogs when I trained at Guide Dogs and they were great. I have since gotten started using the gentle leader head collar and might like them a little better, but both are terrific. Both are known for actually helping your dog feel calmer by stimulating certain pressure points. Above all it is a fantastic solution if your dog pulls on walks. You'll be amazed how well it works.

I am a pet dog trainer and have recommended the Gentle Leader over the halti for years because the Gentle Leader is much more secure. Not anymore... I received a trial halter in the mail yesterday from the manufacturer and I was very impressed with the modifications, adjustable nose strap, thinner straps, padded nose strap. My rescued border collie walks with a Gentle Leader deluxe which never fit her properly. The halter either slid around her nose but if tightened put a lot of pressure on her neck. I've been looking for an alternative for the Gentle Leader for her for months and I haven't liked any of the head halters until the Holt halter. This halter fits great, stays in place and puts no pressure on the neck.

I think the Gentle Leader is a great product and it fits perfectly on my sheltie, but I don't think there is one perfect product for all dogs. I'm glad to have this as an option.

I can't believe I never heard of these before. My dog is like a professional show dog with this lead on -it is truly amazing. We stopped walking him on leash years ago because it was just so frustrating and painful for all of us. I will use this collar forever now, even just walking to the car and back. KONG Puppy Kong Dog Toy, Medium, Pink

My puppy is an Australian Shepherd. Not only are they known for their hyper activity, but also curiosity and boredom can really get them in trouble. Puppy Kongs have been a lifesaver! When my puppy is bouncing off of the walls, making a ton of noise and will not settle down when it's time to settle, I make sure there is a stuffed kong waiting and ready to toss his way. This keeps his attention for quite a while. He lays down with it, settles down and keeps quiet. This also keeps him from getting in trouble like digging in my plants, getting into cabinets or chewing on furniture. Also, I have another stuffed one on hand for the times that we leave the house in the morning for work. While he's in the crate working on it, we can sneak out of the house without causing any anxiety problems.

I have stuffed them with several things. Since he's outgrown his small size and now is into the medium size, I can vary what is stuffed inside. I can soak some of his puppy food in warm water and spoon some of the soft food inside. I throw in some cheerios, little bits of cheese, left overs of chicken and some mashed potatoes, cream cheese, and peanut butter for some ideas. I also use Kong's Stuffn Peanut Butter flavor to seal off the opening (icing on the cake), and I've used Kong's puppy biscuits inside. I've also broken up some other dog cookies. It's fun to just get creative with it. The more you switch it up, the more amazing the Kong is to your puppy.

Make it last longer by keeping them in the freezer! I keep a few in rotation, stuffed and frozen, waiting in the freezer for that moment a Kong can really come in handy.

Our 4-moth-old puppy keeps coming back to this chew toy, especially when filled with a Kong Stuffin Snack.

I have a 12 year old Spaniel. She has never been interested in toys or playing fetch. I initially bought this for my puppy that is coming home in a few months not even thinking that my Spaniel would enjoy such a thing. I filled it up with some kibble and her favorite food peanut butter and she spent a few minutes slobbering and licking the Kong until I decided to let her outside with her new toy. She stayed outside for 40 minutes!! (She's the type that will go potty and a minute later will bark like she's in danger to come in). I love this toy! I now give my Spaniel a frozen Kong for a snack in the afternoon and she loves it.

Additional notes: I have a 38lb Spaniel and I bought the medium puppy toy. The size is just right for her, the plastic seems indestructible. I toss the Kong in the dishwasher when it needs a cleaning.

Spotty Training Place Indoor Dog Potty

During Colorado winters I am often unable to let my very small dogs out of doors. I decided to try the training grass because my dogs like to shred the disposable puppy pads.I purchased two training place grass patches. The dogs did transition to using the grass without a hitch and things went well for about 3 weeks. I power washed the entire ensemble with heavy soap and disinfectant regularly. The problem is that with ongoing exposure to odorous fluids, plastic will eventually absorb the odors and no amount of cleaning or soaking will remove it. The pungent amonia odor became stronger by the week until I couldn't even change the puppy pad layer without gagging. I worked as a nurse for many years and thought I was immune to odors (this plastic training system is that bad)! I'd finally had enough and ordered washable bed incontinence pads used for adult humans, and they are working fabulously. They are highly absorbant and I can just toss into the washing machine when they become significantly soiled. No more odors! Bottom line, this grass thing is a pain to clean and will eventually absorb so much of the amonia that no amount of cleaning will help. Great concept, but poor materials.

Nurtured Pets Anti-Lick Strip

I have a dog with some skin problems, and when problem spots appear, if she can reach them, she makes them worse by licking them. I use the strips to cover up these spots so she can't get to them. Since the strips are so expensive, I often cut them to make a custom patch for the area I need to cover, and save the rest of the strip to use later. One thing that's kind of annoying is that they really stick strongly, they don't come off on their own eventually, so if you get the strip stuck on there properly, your dog will be wearing it until their next haircut (they don't even come off after a bath).

This product works well! It stopped.my dog from licking a sebaceous cyst on her leg. i first wrapped vet tape then applied the strip. I would like it better if it was available in a roll and the user could cut off and use just the length needed.

Tattle Tale Sonic Pet Training Alarm

First, let me preface this with the fact that we love our cats dearly and work hard to provide them with every comfort known to man including heated beds, an automatic laser pointer that provides hours of fun and catnip filled mice that find their way out from under the couch and other furniture from time to time. We don't, however, love pet hair and hairballs on our furniture. Recently we purchased a new sofa and resorted to draping a sheet over it while at work the first few days. Arriving home to find a couch draped in a bed sheet is not a way of life for us, so we looked at other options and found this device. I was skeptical based on the reviews here but purchased one to test.

You can set "sensitivity" to low or high. When set to high the device sometimes goes off with as little as heavy footsteps = perfect.

Had I had my video camera on when one of our cats attempted to find a soft spot to curl up in (other than the heated bed he loved so dearly until the couch came into his life), I'd have uploaded a video review of a cat in full backflip followed by a panicked exit from the room that entailed one wall collision and a flurry of pet fur.

I have had my tattle tale for over a couple of years now. I had a problem with my dog getting on my bed during the day while I was away at work. If I was home she would hang out with me, I don't allow my dog to sit on my furniture. This thing worked from day one and I have recommended it to friends who now have multiple. We just bought a new sofa and want to keep the dog off of it, so I bought another one. This thing could be more sensitive, but it is sensitive enough for my dog, 65 lbs. It will go off if I toss a shirt down on my bed nearby, that seems sensitive enough to me. The sound is merely annoying, it isn't an alarm just a loud piercing beeeeep. If you have a medium to large size dog I suggest trying it out. One more suggestion use it on a "cushiony" surface for best results, a hard surface won't move as the dog does. So if you are trying to keep a cat off of a table this won't do much unless the cat goes near it. I don't think it actually senses motion, it needs to be lightly jostled to go off. A good product though.

I got this to keep our West Highland terrier off of furniture, and it works pretty well. The noise does the trick. But sometimes it is set off by loud noises or by vibrations in the wooden floor (even though the Tattle Tale is sitting on upholstered furniture). So it's not perfect, but I'm getting a second one.

We bought two of these to keep our boxer off the counters & the furniture. We have a problem that when our birds chirp, it sets off the alarms. The alarms set off the birds, and over & over... The training alarm does work, but we found that our dog would carry them outside through the dog door and leave them outside. We caught him in the act of trying to bury it while the alarm kept resetting itself. It was pretty funny. It didn't work for us, but I think it would for a dog that doesn't like loud noises. Doesn't seem to affect ours though.

To clarify it is made of nylon rope like rock climbing rope which does have some stretch to it but is definitely not a bungy cord. My dog is reactive and when she lunges at other dogs, I still do feel I have control and I know that she is not being chocked by her collar because of the design.

I don't think any "tool" (prong collar, choke chain, head halter, "nonhalters", Martingale collars) actually prevents pulling. Teaching a dog loose leash walking is a training issue but, it does it take time. Sometimes, many months.

The reason I like this tool is because it does not harm the dog's esophagus. I work with dogs at a shelter and teaching loose leash walking is difficult (to say the least) but even with my strongest dogs, they may pull but they are not being hurt in the slightest so I think it is an effective tool!

I wonder if there is a reason it only comes in one size...which is the reason I gave it 4 stars. A medium size might be beneficial. Small probably not so much.

So I purchased this on a whim, just to try it out. It is an interesting idea, but not for me. I will note that I hate all dog products that are made of a bungy material as they don't allow for control.

I'm not sure it would actually provide control even if it was a non-bungy material.
