People may think these are cruel, but when a cat has decided your leather sofa is his litter box, desperate measures are called for, and that's where this scat mat is wonderful. We have two Dobermans that love to lay on the couch. These were rescues and apparently they were allowed on furniture in their previous homes. We quickly taught them not to get on the furniture, when we are home they don't. Everyday I would come home from work and the cushions and pillows would be on the floor or hanging off the couch. One of the dogs was a nester too so he scratched the heck out of our leather sofa. Luckily these were old couches which we were planning on replacing soon. Of course we had to figure out how to keep them off before buying new furniture. I saw this product read the reviews and thought this could be the answer and IT WAS !! Have been using them for over a month now and no more dogs on the couch. They have several dog beds around the house to sleep on which are now ok to use since the couch is off limits. The shock is mild feels like a pin prick when on high setting. The Dobies are smart so I thought they may pull them off the couch but they just stay away from them. I highly recommend these. Funny story, my husband sat on the love seat before taking off the scat mat. One of the dobermans stood there watching with the funniest look on his face and I swear laughed with me when my husband yelped and jumped up. Keeps husbands off the furniture too. Now 6 months after new furniture and they don't go near the couches even if we forget to put on the scat mat.

We recently purchased some new furniture, and wanted to make an effort to keep it as "cat-free" as possible. I'm sure many of you with cats know just how bad furniture can get with one or two cats regularly sleeping on it. The hair embeds itself everywhere. The claws dig into everything. Let's not talk about the vomiting and other unmentionables.
I got sick of trying to put old bath towels all over the furniture, because it didn't really solve anything. They still laid on the couch, and the hairs still worked their way through the towels anyway.

I'm extremely happy with this product. It works as advertised, is easy to use, easy to store and the batteries so far have lasted quite a while. I also like the fact that there are so many varieties of these mats. Strips, squares, couch lengths, etc. You can get expansion mats and even AC adapters. They are so versatile you can put them anywhere.
The only con I would have to say is the price... A little more than what I initially wanted to pay for a cat-deterrent, but ultimately it's been completely worth it.

My Great Dane was biting on the leash all the time. I bought this leash and my problems were solved. She would bite and pull on the leash...it became nearly impossible to walk her. I had done training with her but that didn't solve the problem. I finally had to buy this leash, which solved the problem.
