I was thrilled to get the Kitty Harness and be able to get our 2 year old tom out of the house. I followed the instructions and he accepted the harness without a problem and on the second day I took him outside. We did this for three more consecutive days without incident because the harness appeared to work as advertised. On the fourth day, we had been outside about 30 minutes when something spooked him and he lunged stretching the leash to full length and he squirmed half way out of the harness. Before I could catch him, he lunged again and got free. That was three weeks ago and we have not seen him since. If you purchase this item, I suggest you adjust it to near strangling tightness.

We bought this for our cat when he was a couple of months old and we all love it. The first time we put the harness on him, he did resist. But once he got used to it, he was okay. Next we connected the leash and took him outside. Remember, cats are different than dogs so you have to be patient. We coaxed him along using a long string. Now we take him for walks through our town, to the playground where he can slide down the slide. He has truly become the talk of the town and has even "stopped traffic" literally as people stop and back up to get a second look. No one can believe that a cat will walk on a leash. The leash is a bit short, but we simply attach our dog's leash to it if we want to let the cat explore the yard while we do yard work. It's great. The harness really supports the cat's breastbone in case they jump off something higher than the leash is long. If you use the harness and leash to "tie out" your cat, for your own peace of mind and the safety of your pet, never leave your cat unattended.

I'm glad I bought this particular harness/leash set for my kitten (he's one-eyed and I can't leave him to wander outside on his own)for several reasons. The harness itself seems to be very comfortable to my kitten (no single collar around the neck to choke him when he gets excited and tries to run) and it's adjustable so it will fit him for a good while. I also like the bungee-style leash...he can run (just not too far!) and jump and the leash has enough give to it so he doesn't get strangled or jerked to a sudden stop. It's a little difficult to put on at first if you have a cat in the "chewing" stage but once they get used to it, it's easier to get it on and off.

No Bark Dog Collar

We have tried everything with our wonderful dog who never barks.. except when we leave... we started by giving him chew toys, busy bone, ultrasonic bark device, relaxing music for dogs (I kid you not), a dog collar with a citronelle spray, a fermone spray for his bed, and then we got a different electric collar pet safe which ambed up the shocks which worked somewhat but then our dog would howl when we leave.. it does not zap that kind of noise. After using this for a few years and watching our dog howl more and more when we leave... after another set of batteries ran out... we bought this one and oh my god it actually works. I think it' the vibration warning a zap is coming which makes it such a success... as it's a one two punch we needed to calm our dog down. For those of you who think this a bad for you dog... NO.. what is bad for your dog is straining his vocal cords all day and our neighbors nerves. Now he doesn't even attempt to bark or howl when leave what a huge relief!! Worth every penny... I rarely review items only when they exceed my expectations and when I think someone else could benefit from it! PS it has speed charger just takes two hours to charge!

We ordered this collar for our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is a great dog, very gentle and obedient, but at age 2 has started develop a some pretty annoying barking habits. These range from the harmless but annoying, such as seeing a squirrel out the window, barking like crazy at it and then tearing down the stairs to his basement doggy door; to the embarassing such as going absolutely beserk at the mail carrier and anyone else who happens by our house walking a dog. When he goes into this "beserk" stage, he won't listen and can't be stopped from barking/growling until the "intruder" in his space is gone.

We have tried a couple of different products, namely the PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent (the one shaped like a birdhouse) for outdoors, and PetSafe PBC-1000 Ultrasonic Indoor Bark Control for indoors. The Outdoor unit worked reasonably well, but our dog figured out pretty quickly that if he got far enough back from it (it was placed near the property line to deter barking at the sidewalk), he could still do his thing (including harassing the mail carrier when they got to the front porch.) The Indoor unit seemed to work for about a week, and then lost its effect (I even put brand new batteries in it, but it just seems the noise it emits doesn't bother him that much.)

After reading reviews for virtually every "no bark" collar on Amazon and other sites, we selected the Dogstra No Bark YS300. Unlike the ultrasonic bark deterrents we had been using before, which rely on an unpleasant noise to stop barking, this collar detects the bark and then delivers a "shock" to the dog. I should add that our dog is trained on and completely comfortable with an electric fence, so to some degree he gets the joke of what it means to get a shock. We have been using this collar for 2 weeks, and so far it works like a charm. The first day that the mail arrived, our dog began his usual barking, and immediately received a corrective shock. He let out a little yelp (exactly what he does when shocked by electric collar for invisible fence), and not only did he stop barking, but he settled down, and never went into his "beserk" mode. When he is in his "beserk" mode at the mail carrier, he often shreds the mail. Not this time. Apparently by stopping the barking, it stopped the whole destructive mode.

The dog very quickly figured out that bark = shock, and I think he has only received one or two shocks subsequently. He has also figured out that a low growl does not trigger the shock, nor does a very quiet "woof" that is almost more like a grunt. So he can still alert us if he believes something is not right (like a squirrel has entered his yard.) I should add that the collar has 7 levels of shock severity, and we have it set on the mildest one.

The last thing I will adress is the battery. The Dogstra YS300 uses a rechargeable lithium battery. So far it seems to need charging every 4 days or so. This is not a big deal, we simply take it off of him at night and charge it as you would a cell phone, an i-touch, etc. This may sound like a lot of charing, but we have been thru so many battery ordeals with his electric fence collar and those batteries are so expensive, that I actually like this method better.

I've tried several no bark collars from different manufacturers. I really like this one best because it has a vibration feature that warns the dog before he gets barking. It is easy to adjust and is rechargeable. My dogs are barking herders and these work great.

I have a mini schnauzer and a lab mix who think they need to bark and scream incessantly whenever a car comes up the drive. If you want to visit outdoors with the neighbor, forget it, because they bark the ENTIRE time. I ordered one Dogtra YS300 to use for both dogs.

The pros:

1. It says for small to medium dogs, but is very effective with my lab mix also.

2. It has a vibration warning before the correction.

3. It can be set to vibrate only when the correction is learned.

4. The battery is rechargeable in about 2 hours.

The cons:

1. Even on the LOWEST setting, it is a little too strong for my mini schnauzer. She squealed on the correction of "2" which I did not like. (However, I can set it to vibrate only for her which works well.)

2. The strap is very long, but it can be cut to fit, so not a big "con"

3. My dogs do already know that they can bark when the collar is off, however the duration is shorter.

I will have to update my review in the future in order to address durability.

To make a long story short, I like this collar, and will be ordering another one so that both dogs will have one to wear when we go camping, etc.

Edit to add: It has been two years and the collar still works great. I have absolutely NO problems with this collar. I highly recommend it.

I have one large and one medium sized dog (75 and 55 pounds respectively). I bought the YS500 for the smaller dog because her weight was on the cusp. When it arrived it looked way to big for her so I gave the 500 to my larger dog and ordered a YS300. Finally, the collars looked appropriate for each of them.

I didn't want to use the collars because I wasn't thrilled about shocking my dogs but the smallers habit of charging the front door and barking was getting worse and worse. Finally, I put the collars on periodically without being turned on for several weeks at the advice of my dog trainer so they would not learn to associate the shock with the collar.

Last week I finally turned the collars on. The YS300 at the lowest setting has totally freaked out my small dog. She shreaks when it goes off. She is scared to death. I have been dealing with this and trying very hard to ignore her reaction as she is avoiding the front door so I guess it is working. This has been very upsetting for both myself and my dog.

Here is the warning. If you have more than one dog please be aware that the YS300 can be set-off by another dog. It took a few occassions to be sure of this. My poor little dog has been shocked 3 times now by my larger. Once they were playing and he barked and shocked her. Once they charged the front door and the larger dog barked and shocked her and once my larger dog hacked and it set off her collar. Yes, he hacked and my small dog because she was standing next to him was shocked. Each time she shreaked in fear and doesn't have any idea what she did wrong.

I called Dogtra and they told me that the YS300 has a sensor that can be set-off by other dogs. I wish I saw this in my research. Is this published anywhere as a warning?? It should be! If I had this very important piece of information, I certainly would not have bought the collar. Dogtra's customer service was friendly and told me to mail them the YS300 and they will "make the sensor less sensitive". I guess this is a reasonable customer service response but I'm not really sure how willing I am to keep experimenting on my poor dog.

Advanced Dog Bark Stopper

The bark stopper is triggered automatically by detecting sound of barking. But the sound sensor inside doesn't work: even with loud barking within 10 feet and highest sensitivity setting, it doesn't detect the barking in 90% of the cases. There is no way to manually triggered the device.

When I ordered the bark stopper, I expected to receive a complete package including the "mains adaptor". Even the literature packed in the box indicates indicates that plug in is the basic mode of operation with the comment that it "also works with AA batteries. I checked out the cost of buying the mains adaptor separately, and was shocked to find out that it would cost almost $50.

I don't know if this is the right way to file a complaint, but I feel Amazon owes me a mains adaptor at no cost.

By the way, the bark stopper works very well if properly placed. It works well with one neighbor, but heavy vegitation and distance effect the performance on the other side.

I should have listened to the other reviews. The sound detection doesn't work at all. You have to turn it on to emit the high pitch sound then turn it off and turn in on again. It's worthless on big dogs @ old dogs,but on small dogs oh yes..they run like hell...can't return it...I lost my receit. Save your money & go for the DAZER II. That's a must have!

This product did exactly what it said it would. It needs to positioned at the dogs height and close to the point the barking starts. When I found the best place, my dog stopped barking straight away. I can't hear the unit coming on but its obvious that my dog does. It has reduced his barking so much and the volume he barks at as well. It took a few days to get it right. We have a border collie who is very smart, and generally easy to train. For some reason, though everytime the front door was open, he would RUN! He was so smart and so fast very difficult to catch. For him, it was a game. He loved being chased. A couple of weeks ago, I'd had enough and had to try something! I'd always thought of shock collars as cruel, but I was at the end of my rope.

We bought this collar, and after ONE TRAINING SESSION he stopped running off!! I'm not exaggerating.

He turned around and came back to me. I praised him for coming to me. Then, I walked away and called him again. If he didn't respond IMMEDIATELY, he got a quick shock. He would turn and come to me. Pretty soon, he started coming as soon as I called. He got lots of praise and we were both very pleased.

We only turn the collar on for training sessions we don't leave it on, this saves on batteries.

A couple of hours after the first session, Red got out when my son opened the door. I called out "Red, come!" And he came!! The collar was not turned on!

We have refresher training sessions everytime we go out into the front yard. 99% of the time, Red responds immediately when I call him. If not, he gets a quick shock. I have no doubt that it will be 100% of the time soon, and the collar will no longer be needed at all. Look at how much progress we made in the first day and after just a couple of weeks, he is like a totally different (and very good) dog. Our neighbors can't get over the change in him. It used to be a joint neighborhood project to catch him now he stands outside in the front yard with me, and never strays!

Like I'd said before, I thought shock collars were cruel. This collar is a blessing. It is certainly no worse than spanking a young child who runs out into the road, in order to keep him safe. Everybody involved is much happier especially the dog.

I was very hesitant to use a shock collar on my dog so I tried everything else I could think of to control his jumping, barking and general disobedience. I worked with him myself, hired a trainer, and purchased an audio and spray correction device but nothing worked. With two small children in the house I could not afford to have an uncontrollable dog. Everyone knows that training a high-energy, excitable (large) pup takes patience.

However, I had no idea how difficult training this type of dog to heel could be.

Regular collars didn't work in the slightest. Every walk was a battle. Training went slowly... very slowly.

Choke collars did more harm than good. Every walk was still a battle, but now I was causing my dog to gag audibly loud. After a few weeks of trial I found I was wearing my dog's neck raw (to the point that there was a bald line across the front of her neck).

The gentle leader collar was actually quite nice for training, though it had its issues when just walking. The biggest problem with this collar-type was that my dog was somewhat averse to it (she didn't like wearing it and would try to bat it off every time it was put on her). Also, as an excitable pup, she loves to play, and this collar is, unfortunately, somewhat restrictive.

Enter the shock collar. I was hesitant to use any fancy gadgets with my pup, but after trying the alternatives I gave it a shot.

When I got the collar I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be doing as much damage as the choke collar had done, so I went through the entire range of shock levels (there's 10) on both my arm and my neck. On your arm it will cause an electro-numbing sensation (if you've ever been shocked you know this feeling) and a muscle jump. On your neck it will sting and cause you to jump. On levels 1 and 2 I didn't feel anything. After levels 8-10 I wouldn't get myself shocked. Note that in both cases, though, no lasting damage is done (cept maybe a little muscle tightness like you just worked out).

So with that cleared up, I tried it out on my dog. After 2 tries she understood that she only got shocked when she did something wrong (note that this is a perfect time to find the right power level: enough so that they visibly react, not so much that they audibly react I trained "stay" while I did this). After 5 tries she understood that the sound meant a shock was coming (there's 2 buttons one sound, one shock). After the first day (2 hour long walks with leash and shock collar) she understood that she shouldn't get excited over dogs and squirrels or attempt to get out of leash range. After the second day (2 more hour long walks with leash) and a "heel" refresher course (taking 1 step and rewarding if she stays by me or correcting if she doesn't, then 2 steps, then 3 steps, up to 10 consecutive steps I always make her do 10 of each interval before moving on) with and without the leash, she was walking without a leash. And she's been walking without a leash ever since (the past month).

As mentioned, it can be used to train other activities other than walking.

Also note that it seems to be good in water. My dog's been completely submerged swimming multiple times wearing the collar with no problems.

Annnd the range really is nice. 100 yards may be stretching it (I don't let my dog get that far away), but I've had no problems with 30-50 yards (which is pretty far if you're just using it for playing while walking).

And last but not least, the only thing that may be a potential problem is the batteries. The collar batteries are tiny circle batteries that supposedly have 2 weeks worth of "on" time according to the manual. This made me hesitant at first, but as I only use the collar 2 hours a day, and the "on" time should last 336 hours, I shouldn't be needing to get replacements for about half a year. The remote, on the other hand, just requires a 9V battery which should last about as long as a remote control battery (a long time).

Either way, hope this all helps someone out there (and maybe even answers a question or two).

I purchased this "waterproof collar" to assist in training my dog. He learned quickly that the tone was immediately followed by a shock if whatever behavior he was exhibiting did not stop. Sadly, I have a dog that enjoys the sprinkler system....and I found out that the collar was not waterproof. I now found myself out $130.00 for a training collar that only lived about two months.

I contacted PetSafe and braced myself for a fight while attempting to get them to honor their "Lifetime Warrantee," but was pleasantly surprised that they were both responsive and courteous. The support employee on the phone immediately stated that he was not comfortable with trying to repair a unit that had been wet on the interior, and he immediately shipped a new unit with a return postage label for the broken unit.

While I do not think this product is everything it could be, the warrantee and the support from PetSafe motivated me to change my initial rating from 2 stars to four.

What an excellent product! My recent rescue, a 5-year old female Yellow Lab, came to us un-spayed, unhouse-trained, malnurished and sickly. Red Dingo Dog Lead, Medium

The colors are great and I love the collars but the handle that everyone is raving about on the leash frayed in just a couple weeks. Kinda dissapointing.

I got one of these for my first dog and liked it so much got one for my second dog as well. The Red Dingo brand is by far the finest quality I've seen in nylon dog collars ,harnesses, and leashes. This leash has padding in the handle which makes walking the dog so much more comfortable. It aslo is adjustable to size which is nice when you want your dog close, or you feel like letting them roam a few more feet away from you. I highly recommend this product!

Also not that the picture for the purple leash looks pink... it's not pink. It's a true purple like the other products mentioned above. I knew this when I ordered because I view better product photos on Red Dingos website.

I have this leash in two sizes (for my two dogs) and I love the soft handle and the fact that it adjusts. The short length is perfect for jogging in a crowded area and the longer length is great for a "go sniff" walk. My only complaint is that the handle is starting to fray and it seems like this is a fairly common complaint.

I know, they sound kind of disgusting. Bite sized bits of lamb lung... Kind of offputting. But these treats are the BEST treats of all the ones I buy-and I buy a LOT of them. They're soft, but not chewy... Easily breakable and chewable, but somewhat crunchy. It's only a 5 oz bag but there are LOTS inside-many more than the photo would lead you to believe. These treats are so good that I can get my 7 month old Morkie to do ANY trick I ask-I use these as the "High Value" treats because he loves them so much! The Beef flavor are just as wonderful-really anything from Merrick is great.

My lab absolutely loves the lamb lung. It is his favorite treat. The pieces are reasonable size, typically about 1/2" cube, and there are typically only very few small bits so little wastage.

Herm Sprenger Prong Collar 22 inch XHeavyweight

My dog has a 15" neck where he is supposed to wear the collar so this one was huge on him with all the links. Why didn't I measure.. I don't know. The good news is you can take links out which is why I cautioned on the side of big since I wasn't sure. I give it 5 stars because this prong collar is great quality and craftsmanship. However, in hindsight, I don't think I would have gotten this one for these reasons:

I have a big dog (great dane mix) and with taking links out to get the right measurement, he is an in between the verge of too small and too big. The links are too large to get a perfect fit. So in hindsight I would get at least a medium link size if not small even though he;s a big dog for better fit flexibility.

Secondly, the prong collar puts drive in a dog. I didn't know that when I got this as a solution to keep the dog from pulling on a walk. this prong collar has 90% stopped the dog from pulling, but it's not that he doesn't want to, when he doesn't have this on he will still revert to gradual pulling. It is a constant battle of reminding the dog to heel. The collar has cause some aggression problems because the dog has become driven upon correction and will sometimes instinctively attempt to nip the air upon correction. I am going to try a different type of collar that removes drive from the dog, not incite drive.

I have a friend who thinks these collars are inhumane. Be educated on what a prong collar does and does not do and is and is not so that when people try to bad talk your training methods you can inform them. You may hear a lot of "shoulds" and "shouldn'ts" when using this collar.

Third, consider a backup collar. I have never had a problem with this collar coming undone but some have and then you may have a very bad situation on your hands.

This company (Leerburg) makes a good solution to a backup collar and a leash that is for use with a prong collar and backup collar together. The backup collar they make is the one I am going to try instead of a prong collar. The problem with a prong is you only use it on walks, you still need another collar on them for their tags. This other collar is one that can stay on always, AND be used for corrections, AND takes drive out of dogs.

I have had a problem a few times with this. It has at least three times where it has come apart, the most recent time it fell into three pieces while we were out on a walk to the lake. I have no idea why it has done this, I am not sure how it can do this either. I am a bit worried if it continues that I may have to find something else to try. I do not blame the place I ordered it from rather the company that makes this product.

I was a little skeptical about using a prong collar, but boy, does it work. I have a large breed dog (lab) that would pull during walks. After using this collar, there has been a dramatic improvement. Her behavior on walks has completely changed and I am now a believer :)

We have two Dobermans that love to lay on the couch. These were rescues and apparently they were allowed on furniture in their previous homes. We quickly taught them not to get on the furniture, when we are home they don't. Everyday I would come home from work and the cushions and pillows would be on the floor or hanging off the couch. We recently purchased some new furniture, and wanted to make an effort to keep it as "cat-free" as possible. I'm sure many of you with cats know just how bad furniture can get with one or two cats regularly sleeping on it. The hair embeds itself everywhere. The claws dig into everything. This stuff is so awesome! I wound up with quite the large puppy. She was house broken but only if she had constant access to a yard. We didn't. Needless to say she soiled everywhere. I used puppy training pads to soak it up (ironic). Once the liquid was absorbed into the pad, I just sprayed this on the stain, let it sit for about 15 minutes, gave it a quick wipe and stain and odor were GONE! I purchased a gallon of this stuff upon a recommendation from a pet store employee. Sure enough when my puppy had his first accident I ran for the Nature's Miracle.

It helped but it didn't solve the problem. In fact, it made the stain yellow and it smelled like a bottle of rubbing alcohol. This happened time and again with future stains.

I finally gave in to my wife and kids and we got a new puppy. While superficially she looks adorable, in-depth ethnographic observation of the animal reveals that she is, in fact, an abomination released upon unsuspecting humanity, and possibly a harbinger of Doom. The wretched animal is peeing prodigiously all over my house and guess who has to clean it up. It's funny how before we got the hound my wife and kids solemnly vowed to take care of "the sweet new addition to our family" in "every possible way" including thoroughly decontaminating the site where the dog might have "the occasional accident" prior to being fully housetrained. The good news is that Nature's Miracle Stain and Odor Remover works as advertised, particularly on carpeted surfaces (it's not recommended for wood or tile floors). The bad news is that even after you are done following the instructions, if you illuminate the contaminated site with a UV flashlight you can clearly see the fluorescent evidence of the atrocity committed by the canine perpetrator.

So now my life is like a TV episode: the dog urinates, and I descend upon the area like a cross between the janitor in "Scrubs" and a male version of Pauley Perrette from "NCIS", illuminating incriminating forensic evidence with my 395 nM UV Ultra Violet 21 LED Blacklight Flashlight, by LEDwholesalers 7305UV395 and subsequently, gloved and hazmat-suited, I liberally douse the afflicted area with Nature's Miracle Stain and Odor Remover, 32-Ounce until the crime scene is forensically clean. And then of course I rinse and repeat. Over and over again. Probably until the end of time.

My humble suggestion to you based on my own poignant personal experience: if you are thinking about a pet, get Kinectimals for your Xbox 360. Your house will thank you.
