I also liked Diamond dog food used to be rated decently. All I know is that it is getting ridiculous anymore, and no,Science Diet either, I think it will be Iams or maybe even Pedigree high end.

I bought these to go along with my Joybies Piddle Pants for my cat who is very naughty. They work well. Since I started using them I have not had to wash the carpet. Though I do wish the piddle pants had a vinyl lining on the bottom or inside, because I have noticed it has a tendency to leak a bit into the material of the pants. I've washed my blanket the cat likes to sleep on a couple of times because of the leakage and not knowing she's gone until later, but that would be fixed if the pants had a vinyl lining to hold it in. But these pads work well for what they're for.

Your piddle pants and diapers have been a blessing for my senile senior cat. I would highly recommend your products.

I am sure this product works great. And I really needed it. Unfortunately, by the time it arrived, my cat had passed away.

I placed this order on Feb. 19. The stated arrival date was between March 18 and March 26. Joybies listed it as shipped on Feb. 24. It arrived on April 3, 2013. The post mark was April 1, 2013! What the heck?!? After my cat passed away, I forgot about this order. But, having this product in the time frame promised, would have saved me a lot of hassle, as my cat was urinating on the bed every day prior to his death.

As you can tell from the 1st review on this item, Its obvious that it is not something for people who do NOT know how to use a choke chain. FYI: 1)It is not adjustable. Its not meant to be adjustable. Thats why they come in exact sizes. 2) It does not come with a clasp because its not meant to have a clasp. Its a choke and release collar. If it had a clasp, it wouldnt be able to do its job. Also, in order for it to work while you are walking the dog. You need to have your dog on your right side, in order for the collar to relase. When your dog is wearing the collar and you pull on the leash, if the collar makes the shape of a "q" then it is on the dog wrong and will not relase correctly. It needs to look like the letter "p" so the circle the of the letter "p" would represent the collar and the line of the letter "p" represents the leash. to get the collar to be a circle chain(like a necklace) instead of being a chain line, you have to fold the chain part and slide it all the way down through one of the rings and then the collar will be connected as a circle so you can put it on your dogs neck. And please do your dog a favor. Do not keep this collar choked up on the dog the whole time because you dont know how to walk a dog with a choke chain or a dog thats untrained. When you dog pulls you or doesnt listen. You give him alittle "check" by doing a quick firm pull to the leash which then gives the dog a quick choke up for get this attention and you do this everytime until he obeys it doesnt literally choke you dog when you do it. If its worn correct it will release immediately. To end, it a good collar and cute item. So measure you dogs neck and give alittle bit of room to allow you to put the collar on and off over the dogs head. Hope this was helpful for anyone who does not know how to use a choke chain.

I really liked this chain that I purchased for my French bulldog Babs. The only bad thing about it was when I received the chain it already had chipping of the pink paint which I was VERY DISAPPOINTED about!

Great bold color, nice heavy duty chain collar. The only minus on this is the paint is rubbed off in a few places, my guess wherever they had hanging to dry, either the paint didn't get in that area, or it rubbed off. Other than that, great collar. Easy to spot on dog, even at night!

I initially ordered this one size smaller and the quality was great. Reordered 1 size larger and a total of 5 of this type in different sizes and colors. Paint quality was not great. On 3 of them the paint must not have dried before they put it in the plastic hangers, as those three had very sharp paint edges sticking up. The colors are all beautiful (I ordered electric blue, candy apple red, bubble gum pink, purple, and lime green.) What a shame there isn't better quality control on this product. Incidently, as the length goes up; the the links are larger and much heavier. The 20 inch collar I bought is actually quite heavy a little too heavy, I think, for the gentler breeds.

I really like the adjustable feature which holds the leash at the length selected, up to 6 feet. This doesn't have the drawbacks of the commonly used reel-type leashes.

The reflective pattern should keep us visible during walks. And the leash is washable, as well.

With the adjustability, this lead is always a great length for our walks / runs. It seems to have been well-made. I found out the clips are even switchable if you find a design you like better from Red Dingo. The padding in the handle is a VERY nice, VERY comfortable feature. I bought this one over other leads, however, because of the reflective surface (note that the reflective surface is on only ONE side). It seems like the reflective surface has gradually "dulled" out, and it doesn't seem as effective as it was when I first purchased it (more than six months ago, used daily). If the reflective surface wasn't part of the equation, this lead would get five stars, hands down.

The nylon choke collar is your best bet for training. I have the chain choke collar but it gives a warning when it tightens with a click sound and then doesn't release as readily as the nylon version. For the easy to somewhat hard to train dog this is my recommendation. My Aussie Shepherd who is very smart, FULL of energy and wants to go-go-go needed some correction slowing down on walks & staying close to me. Things weren't progressing with the chain collar. I was told about the nylon version and searched for it in major pet stores as well as boutique stores and couldn't find it. I finally searched Amazon. The price is GREAT! So start with this collar first and if you find you have a hard to train dog who's stubborn & very dominate I would recommend the more expensive Martingale Collar in a chain or webbing version.

I bought this to walk a 4-lb. Yorkie; a 12-lb. Daschund; & a 14-lb. Poodle. I put the Yorkie in the middle since she is the smallest. The start of our walk seems normal; however, after about ten minutes into our walk, the dogs have changed their positions and tied themselves tight into a criss-cross on this 3-way coupler and it looks like the dogs don't know how to walk comfortably. I have to undo the twist of the nylon and position the dogs constantly so they can enjoy their walk. It was the first and last time I used the 3-way coupler. It got tiring to untangle the twist constantly so the dogs can walk normally.

These work so well when you have more than one dog. We had two dogs and had the double leash and when we got a new puppy we didn't know if we would need to walk one dog seperately, but then I found the triplle one, which work great! It keeps them all together and we still have one free hand.

I use a disability scooter to walk my dogs. I have a bluetick coonhound, a yellow lab mix, a schipperke mix, and a boston terrier. The boston terrier is easy and can be leashed on my right wrist, where I control the scooter. The other 3 (2 of which are over 60 pounds) go on this triple leash in my left hand. My cat had me at wits end. He wanted to be on the counters all the time. I'd come home to find cat litter on the counter which is gross. Tried using the xmats which have plastic spikes on them (he got used to them and walked all over them). Then I decided he would not win the war and got one of these shock pads(the shock is mild depending on how you set it). All it took was one time jumping on this and he got the surprise of a lifetime. He stays clear now. The secret is to put it where the cat likes to jump to then once they learn to avoid that spot move it to the next place they choose to jump up to. I think they remember the spots to avoid (at least my cat did). This product is made of cheap materials but it works and thats what counts. I highly recommend to owners of stubborn cats.

I've owned a smaller scatmat for years, and can't say enough good things about it. For keeping our cats away from places they shouldn't be, it's 100% effective. When it came time to protect a larger area (our cats scrabble at our bedroom slider for hours on end which is fine if you don't require sleep), I shelled out for this larger mat but beware, the mat you will receive is not the one displayed in the photo or described in the product narrative. This (different) model is branded "petsafe" rather than "scatmat," and the controller is "paw shaped" rather than rectangular although the shape of the controller makes no difference itself, this particular variety does NOT have a three-speed intensity control (as promised, and as does the original "scatmat"). This is important to me because the single setting offered in this model is quite a jolt maybe not harmful, but more than I want to subject my little cats to, even once. I keep my original scatmat on the lowest setting, which is just fine. This "new" mat also seems to work erratically after it discharges it won't discharge again for some time, usually minutes. The controller is also difficult to figure out and use (and yes, I read the manual), and is very non-intuitive. This is a far cry from the original easy-to-use scatmat with the rectangular controller and three-speed setting, and I'm puzzled why Amazon is not sending the item described in the photo and product description. I sent mine back (easy enough), and was lucky enough to find an original scatmat on another site more expensive, but worth the price. And tonight I sleep.

My husband and I purchased our first home last year a 1908 fixer-upper that captured our hearts. We decided to choose design themes and furniture from the Art Deco and Machine Age eras. We are the proud parents of two very ornery Siamese cats, one seal point and one flame point. They are the loves of our lives, but oh how they love to test us. They arrived within two days and we were quite excited to put them to use. We placed one on the couch and one over the ottoman that had been clawed. Being huge fans of all things 'new' entering the house, the cats were immediately interested. The female cat investigated the mat on the couch, stepped on it gingerly, got the static charge and took off running never to set foot on any part of the red leather furniture to date. The male Siamese was fascinated with the mat that was draped over the ottoman. He sat next to the ottoman, placed his paw on the mat to prepare to hop onto it and gets zapped. He looks at the mat incredulously, as if to say "What the..?" Then does it again. Twice. He finally decides that the static shock isn't worth the trouble and he can't outsmart it. He leaves the room and sulks. Finally we found something that works!!

We rearranged the mats on the furniture over the coming week (one on a chair, the other on the couch then one on an ottoman, and another on the back of a chair) to keep the kitties guessing. It has been the most effective indoor pet deterrent we have ever seen. The great thing about it is, once the pet learns the specific lesson (stay off the couch!) it can be rolled up to be used another day with another application (stay off the desk/counter/vanity!). There are even long, narrow mats that can prevent the pet from wanting to enter a room (place on the floor across a doorway). The three intensity settings provide versatility and the battery usage is minimal. The static charge emitted is akin to a good 'zap' you may experience from a doornob after shuffling around in flannel PJs in the winter.

Ive been using this scoop for several months now and it's the best one I've bought. VERY sturdy. Considering it's left outside in the weather all year long, that's a very important feature. My previous one had a wood handle and eventually it just broke, so I was happy to find this one, and if I'm not mistaken, I think this one was actually a lower price! Not sure on that, but whatever I paid for it, I'm really REALLY happy that I bought this one. Oh also, those ones that look like rakes are impossible to use. They get caught on the grass and it's just a big old mess. This one with the flat pan presses the grass out of the way and I just do a little "chip shot" under the poop and into the scoop it goes. OH the other cool thing is that the handle is adjustable so you can get it to the perfect height so you don't have to stoop over.

From the start I really liked this tool. However, almost immediately the adjustable handle locks got really got real flaky and would become unlocked. Now after 7-months the spot welds on the pan came apart making it unusable. It is a real shame because this could have received 5-stars with a little quality control.

Updated* I contacted the manufacturer directly and they sent out a complete new unit with no questions asked.

Upon receiving this item, it seemed nice, but not quite as nice as I had hoped. Still, I would say my initial impression was 4 stars. Spade and scoop are both a very reasonable gauge of steel. Rivets and plastic are pretty nice. The spade seems a bit wide for the scoop; it makes it in but a smidge more clearance wouldn't hurt my feelings. The aluminum shafts seem a bit on the flimsy side. All in all, a pretty good product though.

So, why only 1 star instead of 4? Well, it broke the second time I used it. I couldn't even tell you how. It seemed fine the first time I used it, but when I went to use it a second time a week later, the adjustable section of the spade was loose, and kept falling down. I tried to tighten it, but to no avail. I'm actually very familiar with the type of mechanism that is inside, as I used to fix trekking poles as part of my job. Its the same concept. This one; however, is just poorly made and unrepairable. So sad to see a good product with real potential fall flat on its face due to a simple issue of cutting corners. For fifty cents more you could have a quality locking mechanism. I would have rather seen a simple straight unadjustable one piece shaft than one that fails so easily. That or use a quality mechanism; I'm willing to pay the difference.

Kurgo Quantum Dog Leash

I bought this leash a few weeks ago from a local pet shop and I'll be returning it today. It is absolutely the WORST leash I have ever owned.

It seemed like a great idea and innovative design, but the fancy-looking clip is a serious safety hazard. The way the clip is designed means anything but the widest of collar/harness rings will wedge into the closure and pop it open. I nearly lost my foster puppy using this leash. It popped right off of his harness. I really thought I must've put it on wrong, but then it happened again, so I clipped it to a spare collar and pulled a bit, and off it popped.

This is a SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW that could end in DEATH for your dog, especially if you've got one that hasn't yet learned that cars are no good to chase. Shame on Kurgo for marketing something this unreliable to responsible pet owners.

This leash is great, and comparable to others that sell for $50 or more. Hmm, that sounds like an infomercial, but what the heck it's true.

My favorite configuration is a loop that I can sling over my shoulder with a bit of slack so my boy can move. It's been great for working with him on leash manners and I think it would be fantastic for runners, walkers, or anyone who wants to walk the dog but keep their hands free.

The padded handle is a good idea, but not terribly well executed. I think it would be better if it were a tube that the leash ran through. As it is now it can get bunched up and twisted. But this leash would be just as good with it removed, so I can't take off any points for that.

What keeps this from being a 5-star product is the hardware. The carabiner is a little cheaper than I'd like and I may upgrade it, but my problem is with the main clasp. It's heavy-duty, but the design is such that unlike a clasp with a retractable pin, the ring on the dog's could get in a position where pulling on the leash could cause the clasp to open ironically especially so with the Kurgo collar my guy has. I don't think this is that likely to happen, and I'd still recommend this leash, but it does mean it only gets 4 stars from me.

Kurgo makes high-quality products and I don't think you will be disappointed with this leash.

This leash is very cool. I love it because you can change lengths, adjust the handle, and it seems to be very sturdy. I haven't got to use it much yet though, because I got it to go with the matching harness and my Boxer baby doesn't quite fit in the Large sized harness I ordered her yet.

But, I have to update my review and change my rating. Although, all the above said is still true, I am sending this back. My dog has gotten loose from this leash several times now. Luckily, I was always able to get her before she really realized she was even loose. The clasp just doesn't clasp tightly and she can pull herself loose, without even trying.

This leash was exactly what I was looking for until my dog managed to come unhooked. The clasp didn't fasten securely and she got loose twice in 15 minutes. I had to use the carabiner end to hook her to the leash for the remainder of the walk (not the ideal setup). Sending it back.

I didn't expect much beyond a few months use until I could find something I really like but after using this leash for a few weeks I think this will last me much longer. This is the 6th leash I've purchased in the last 2-3 years and it's by far the best constructed and useful one of the bunch. It's also one of the least costly of the group as well. Before it showed up I read other reviews about the quality of the clip and expected something that I would replace, but after it arrived I found it to be plenty strong. I don't know what that reviewer expected but if your dog pulls hard enough to break this you need to learn how to train your dog because your going to be dragged to your death. I do agree that the padded handle is not very effective when used in over the shoulder mode and I can see the plastic clip on that part breaking with age. We are in the market for a second dog so we've already went ahead and ordered a second one of these leashes in a different color.

Okay, yes the collar was flattened out and more oval on the dog than round, though he didn't seem to mind it a bit, he was already used to wearing the homemade collar we had for him--though it wasn't doing the job. This collar is perfect, the length of the cone is just right, our Heeler couldn't reach any of his legs to scratch. It was only one leg in particular we wanted to protect him from but I think it's important to note that he couldn't reach his hind or fore legs. As long as the water bowls were full, he could drink just fine. He could eat with this on but it wasn't easy for him.

Whenever we'd give the dog a break from the collar I'd fold it opposite of the way it was flattened and lay some heavy items on it (very heavy, this thing is sturdy), after about three days it was a normal round shape. The collar doesn't seem to irritate the dog at all.

It takes strong, nimble fingers to work the clasps. If you don't have tough fingers, you might have to use a small object (a key, butter knife, or even a thimble maybe) to push the little clips inward to undo the clasps. It's tad tricky at first but we got it worked out. I found it easiest to pinch the clasps (or whatever you call them) to slip them out of the holes when taking the collar off. Snapping them in place was very easy.

Our dog has been in this new collar for well over a week now and he's doing great with it. He's never once managed to slip out of it, though I noticed that if he's left too long without supervision that a couple of the clasps popped themselves partway out. But only partway. I'd recommend the collar to anyone. It's easy to use, the price is great, and it does the job.

After my shepherd puppy destroyed the first E collar after surgery I ordered this one. It is much better constructed in terms of the flexiblity and weight of the material. The only negative was that the use of plastic clips to close the collar rather than velcro made it almost a 2 person task to place the collar on our dog.

Gentle Leader Quick Release Headcollar: Medium, Deep Purple

I first discovered the Gentle Leader when I had my Rottie. He literally dragged me across the yard one day, and I was frustrated whenever I tried to walk him. He was a big, strong dog, and I wasn't going to win a pulling match with him (he weighed more than I did!). I tried a Gentle Leader, and suddenly I had control again. When you have control of the dog's head, he can't drag you or pull you around. With some practice, going for walks was pleasant again.

I now have two puppies, and they both pull when on the leash. I bought each of them a Gentle Leader, and after they both adjusted to their new gear (they both had temper tantrums the first few times they had to wear them), they both walk better on a leash. With additional training and practice, I know that they will both learn to walk in a mannerly fashion on the leash so that we can enjoy walks together.

works great for me and my dog. at first he didnt like it but is getting use to it. He doesnt pull and hurt my back like before so we are able to go for longer walks. I would recommend this for anyone that is trying to find a way to walk their dog with out the pulling

Love this headcollar, but our Puggle thinks he is being punished whenever we put it on him. As I have had cervical surgery, I haven't had the time to work with him yet. But once I get over my fear of being pulled over and doing a face plant on the concrete, I intend to get him used to it. If he weren't so 'round and fully packed' I would use treat to help. But, Pugs and Beagles are notorious over-eaters, and Gimli has a double dose of this bad trait!

My dog is overall well behaved, but on walks there was always some pulling with multiple corrections. I ordered the Gentle Leader. Put it on her for like 10 mins. for a couple of days for her to get used to it and we have been walking pulling-free ever since. Great product!

IRIS Puppy and Dog Training Pad Holder

changed our lives forever. took a day or two for our dogs to get used to stepping up onto this pad holder, but no more going off the side and onto the floor. the first night our older dog peed and pooped right NEXT to it. all we did was move her poop up to the pad and soaked a little of her pee onto the pad and she got it from then on. our younger pup doesn't destroy the wee-wee pads daily anymore... no more taping the pads to the ground... no more ingested pee-soaked pads for our pup. and no more pee/poop on the ground where the pad was before the baby dragged it elsewhere for our confused older pup :)

I would recommend this product for anyone that wants to train a puppy with pee pads or for a dog that is left alone all day. It prevents them from dragging the pee pad around and chewing it up. I acutally bought another one in a larger size after I bought the first one.

This product works great. The holder is very sturdy and durable. The clips hold the pads tightly in place. And it gave my dogs "boundaries" as to where to go and not to go. It makes clean up a lot easier. And rather than get puppy pee pads I use a combination of reusable baby changing pads that I wash, inexpensive disposable bed pads or newspaper. I highly recommend this product.

I purchased this tray some time back for my male Pomeranian who is trained to go on wee-wee pads. The tray kept my floor from getting soiled as I experimented with different brands of training pads (they are not created equally!).

I now have a new puppy and housebreaking her is going much faster because the tray gives her a designated, stable (because the pads don't slide around and she can't play with them and chew them up) area to go potty.

A couple of tips:

1. You may have to pick your dog up and put them on the tray the first few times... especially if they're used the the pad being on a flat surface. My male was a bit apprehensive about getting on the tray.

2. You may also have to run new puppies off the pad a few times. My puppy (who I got from a pet store) started off laying on the pad, like it was her bed. I think that's because she was used to having paper in her pen at the store.
