Gentle Leader Quick Release Head Collar, Large, Fawn

Gentle Leader Quick Release Head Collar, Large, FawnI purchased this collar for my 6 month old/60lb Rhodesian Ridegback at the advice of my vet. This dog is extremely intelligent and well trained, yet on a leash she pulls, lunges, and has herself choking (both with a regular collar and a harness). Viewing the DVD facilitates one's ability to follow the instructions on introducing the collar and ensuring proper fit. I literally walked my dog with 2 fingers through the loop of the leash handle....the collar helped the dog self-correct....and all I needed to do was praise (verbally and with treats)....immediate results.

I purchased the Gentle Leader for my 2 year old 73 lb Labradoodle who is a "puller." Have tried all the techniques to try to stop her from pulling and nothing has worked until I purchased this. Be sure to watch the DVD and follow the instructions to make sure you are putting it on correctly. If it is not put on correctly, it will not work. Very easy to use once you watch the video. When I have used a regular collar my dog would pull so much she would start choking. I was afraid she would injure herself. No more choking with this and very effective.

We have a crazy Great Dane puppy we should have gotten this for moooonths ago. We waited until he reached 170 lbs at 11 months old. Good idea right? Anyway, this collar is a MIRACLE! It literally worked on the first walk. I am NOT kidding. He would drag me and my husband everywhere before. Where he wanted to go...we went. Now he is the best walking dog on our block. He never pulls anymore, and if he trys slightly..then a small tug on the collar and he is PERFECT! I do recommend watching the dvd with directions. Those suckers are hard to get on at first. Or well, confusing. But, I'm a pro and do it super fast now. Also the dvd shows how NOT to walk them while the collar is on and I am glad we watched it. It's kind of funny that some people assume its a muzzle when we walk by, but that is a small price to pay for how awesome our boy is at walks now. I will never take it off for walks!!

I have these for both my dalmation and my rat terrior who like to pull, putting these leaders on makes an instant change. My dogs don't love them but they are walking 90% better than before. I am hoping that after long enough on these they will form good habits and I won't have to use them. It was really a must have to get them to stop pulling!

Dingo Knotted Bone Counter Display, Mini, 30-Piece

Dingo Knotted Bone Counter Display, Mini, 30-PieceThey are way too expensive. On line they were not that much cheaper. I have large dogs so I prefer the smaller cause they tend to swallow whole the bigger chunks. And by the way the vet chews with the slender pieces have gotten stuck in my part boxer dog. Just do not leave the house after giving your dogs ANY rawhide chew. I also liked Diamond dog food used to be rated decently. All I know is that it is getting ridiculous anymore, and no,Science Diet either, I think it will be Iams or maybe even Pedigree high end.

Easy Walk Harness - Petite/Small, Black

Easy Walk Harness - Petite/Small, BlackI don't want to endorse this as the ultimate harness, but it does work very well.

I was having trouble with my puppy when on a collar and leash because he hadn't made the connection that he has to stay left and behind when walking. I would spend a lot more time and energy because I would have to stop or pull him back into place, etc. Plenty of times this was a serious frustration while on the collar.

So I was recommended by my puppy day care to get one of these harnesses. And after fitting it correctly (youtube video helps a lot), we had the best walk ever. No pulling, right at my side, amazing, near perfect. However, the successive walks required more training.

The upside:

If the dog decides he wants to lead you, you are not pulling on their neck, and pulling forward not only is uncomfortable for them, it pulls them off balance if they pull really hard. Larger dogs will obviously be more of a problem, and may still pull you, especially if you do not have it fitted right.

The downside:

Fitting is tedious and requires more in-depth understanding. They should figure out an easier way to fit this harness.

It DOES NOT "automatically" leash train your dog. A dog who is not leash trained will still want to pull away from you while wearing this harness. It just makes it so he/she won't pull as hard.

Other thoughts/notes:

You have to fit the harness exactly or it won't work as well.

Be sure to let the dog know you're the boss (the alpha) and even though you have this nice happy harness, don't let the dog lead you.

I purchased an Easy Walk Harness for both my deer chihuahua and my pug cross. My chihuahua has a collapsing trachea, that when walked with a collar or regular harness causes him to have a coughing fit, the Easy Walk decreased these fits about 90% which I (and he:) and very grateful for! My pug is high energy and pulls an excessive amount. It seems with regular harnesses she just feels the urge to pull more, not the case with the Easy Walk. She still has some amount of pull, but our walks are much more pleasant. I was worried that the cut would bother my dogs' underarms, but so far they both walk comfortably. I think I would go up a size for my chihuahua next time,so make sure to measure well, but overall I am really happy with this harness and would recommend it to everyone!

This was recommended by our puppy training instructor. It works, easy to adjust. The trick is picking the right size for your dog.

Harness is hard to fit a very active 5-6 lb Yorkie. I'm sure it will work better for a calmer, larger dog. I have adjusted harness as small as I can & still she manages to pull one leg out. This worries me for her safety. The harness idea is good, quality good, as well as mail time.

Cardinal Laboratories Crazy Pet Crazy Dog Train-Me Treat Pouch

Cardinal Laboratories Crazy Pet Crazy Dog Train-Me Treat PouchI love the size of this pouch because it holds keys in the front and A LOT of treats I have a 55lb 8-month elkhound who NEVER finishes the training treats I put in here and I put poop bags in the bottom as well! The problem with the pouch is that the clasp isn't very substantial and if I hit the pouch with the leash while walking briskly, I can knock it right off my pants! There should probably be two clasps and both more substantial at that I plan to rig up something with a clip just because otherwise I like this pouch, but it's tumbled to the ground far too many times!

My dog has a problem barking at approaching dogs and people though he is actually totally unaggressive and by using treats to distract him I am training him to desist in this undesirable habit. The pouch is a conven-ient aid to being able to have the treat at hand as the situation takes place.

This is a very nice treat bag for the money. It easily attaches to a belt loop and the drawstring keeps the pouch closed. It is big enough for a few hours of training with medium/medium-large dog (35 pounds).

I really like this treat pouch for training my puppy. It allows easy access to treats without smelling up my pockets encouraging my dog to climb on me later and find the treats he thinks are there. I really like both the clip to clip it to your waistband and the additional Velcro strap that allows you to keep the pouch in place instead of having it wriggle out of place. The only thing that keeps me from giving it full 5 stars is the fact that the drawstring with its tension closure tends to collapse into the bag when it's open, so I end up grabbing the closure thinking it's a treat, but quickly enough find out it's not... Not a tragedy, just a nuisance. I haven't found a purpose for the tiny Velcro pocket on the front of the bag either but it doesn't take anything away from the bag.

EZwhelp Washable Whelping & Puppy Pad 27" x 32"

EZwhelp Washable Whelping & Puppy Pad 27' x 32'Like others, I don't know how it does it but it stays dry. I have a small dog that just never got the whole potty training thing. I also have a large older dog that is starting to have accidents from time to time. So I have bought a couple of each and they are great. The prices are reasonable and save you $, keeping you from buying the disposable ones. & most importantly keep all of that nasty plastic out of the landfills.

These pads are nice quality for the price. They do become saturated much quicker than disposable pads. These would be good for travel like when I take my dogs with me to the in-laws. The brown hides the stains better. If you want to use these full time, I would buy one for each day of the week especially with bigger dogs.

I immediately noticed that the stains spread much quicker across the pad. With disposable pads, the stain pretty much stays where she leaves it. With this, the stain spreads across the pad in a larger space than the original stain. Keep in mind I have Chihuahuas so I think with bigger dogs they would need to be changed daily.

So overall this is a decent product but not as absorbent as disposable pads. I would use it either for travel or to put under regular pads in case the dog misses the pad when she goes. These are not a disposable pad replacement.

I love these. I love the fact that they are washable and my puppy knows exactly where he is to go. I would like to order more of these for a friend to use. I am sure she would like them as well.

Got these for my tiny new Havanese puppy, under 2 lbs. when we got her. Havanese are infamous for shredding paper so none of the paper pads worked. Although the mere thought of putting these in my washing machine freaked me out I gave them a try and now we are hooked -she's never even nibbled a corner of these and is very attracted to the "carpet-like" :) surface. I use the Mega steam and extra rinse cycles with a little oxy stuff thrown in. Sophie Tsu Nami now weighs 6.5 lbs. and I'm ordering several more of the bigger 27 x 32 size since she under-estimates her size now and thinks if her paws are on the pad her bum is too. Over time I've ordered probably 20 in various sizes. Also perfect for back of SUV for potty breaks while traveling. Great to leave at Grandma's house for visits too. 10 stars.

I was originally a bit grossed out about throwing these in my washer but I always wash a load of rags after and have never had a problem. Plus my dog only urinates on them. I do tend to put some baking soda in the wash just in case but it's because of the other brand of pads I purchased prior to these.

The first brand of pads that I found seemed to disperse more liquid, which dried faster and therefore left more area for my dog to go again if I wasn't home yet. However, even after the first use and wash, they tend to still smell. I end up spraying them with Febreeze while they are hanging to dry.

The EZwhelp pads never smell after the wash. They dry quickly and I won't buy another brand now. I was using biodegradable pads before which aren't as easy to find and still make so much waste. I'm so glad I found these.

My one year old golden retriever loves these treats. They are about the size of a large pencil's eraser, and moist and chewy, but not crumbly at all. The salmon flavor does have a nice odor, at least one that entices the dog. They are wonderful for "extra special" treats. Yum!

Want Cloud Star Chewy Tricky Trainers - Salmon, 5-Ounce Bags (Pack of 4) Discount?

Cloud Star's Tricky Trainers are bite-sized, palatable, chewable treats that are approximately 0.5 inches big. They come in three main flavors: cheddar, liver, and salmon. I sampled (well, JP, my dog, sampled) two flavors: cheddar and liver. These treats were perfect sized for putting into a Kong treat dispenser, and were generally palatable (JP finds them much more palatable then dry treats). I found the Tricky Trainers surprisingly more "dry" than most pocket-sized treats, however. In other words, they don't seem to be oily to touch, aren't excessively moist, and have a high anti-squish (i.e., firm) factor. This is beneficial if you're using them as true training treats to reward your dog (i.e., storing them in your pocket). Their con: I found the cheddar smell to be repulsive it has a really strong smell, so if you're cheese shy, avoid. Cheddar is the 5th ingredient (remember, ingredients are listed in descending order of predominance (from most to least). For the other two flavors, chicken liver and salmon are listed first. The other con: the number of calories per treat isn't listed, so we don't know exactly how "low fat" or "low calorie" they truly are. The final con: if you have a super picky puppy that you are trying to train (and are using these as food motivation rewards), these may not work as well as small pieces of hot dog or pieces of freeze-dried liver treats. When it comes to puppy training, finding a treat that your dog can't resist is imperative to get them to train correctly!

These products are listed as wheat and corn free, which is good if your dog has these specific food allergies. That said, if your dog doesn't have these specific allergies, not a big deal. The good news: all ingredients are natural, made in the USA, and the products contain no artificial favors or colors. Overall, a pretty good training treat!

Four Paws 200pk Bags 22x23 Wee Wee Pads

Four Paws 200pk Bags 22x23 Wee Wee PadsI have 2 (4lb) small breed puppies 1 female and 1 male just so you have a picture. The puppies were definitely attracted to the pads and it was very easy to get them to use the pads which I am grateful. The first pads I ever purchased were the Natures Miracle Advanced Wee Pads and not by choice I just walked in having just gotten my puppies and grabbed the first thing I came across. Now Natures Miracle was a tad expensive so I started looking for another brand more in my price range so I did a lot of research and this brand was rated high by people, then as luck would have it Pet Supplies Plus had a great sale on Four Paws Wee-Wee Pads, now after some use and after the excitement of them actually using the pads I started to become a tad disappointed. You pay a good dollar for these pads and I started to notice things, the size is smaller than the other pads and the 23x23 size meant I had to use 2 of them in my crates and on a side note the actual size of usable pad is 21x21. They are pretty thin and I have felt dampness on the underside of these pads which is a problem since they were sitting on carpet( I have since bought crate replacement trays). When the pups went tinkle it would just sit on the top of the fabric and pool before actually soaked in allowing the pups to walk thru it and tracking it on my carpet. When the female went tinkle she pretty much use up a good portion of the pad so I was changing them often so the price savings now has gone out the door. I also found there was no odor control with these pads.

So now I have tried Four Paws Wee-Wee pads, Dynarex Under pads(worst),Simply Right Super Absorbent under pads(very good-still use) and Natures Miracle Advanced Wee Pads(still use)and find Natures Miracle Advanced Ultra is the best by far for doggie wee pads!

I have to admit I am impressed on how absorbent Natures Miracle Advanced Ultra turned out to be. They claim to hold 6 cups of liquid and I believe it, this is the only pad with Polymer in it, Polymer helps absorption and keeps the spread of the liquid to a minimum getting more use out of the pad, this pad is also fantastic at keeping odor absorbed. I find Petsmart is the only place I can get these pads in-store in my area. The pad size is larger than the other wee pads at 27x23 compared to 23x24 and Natures usable pad area is pretty close to the 27x23 size where the other pads can be up to 4inches smaller in usable area size (so your 23x24 pad is actually 19x21 inches)because the blue border is non-absorbent and not usable(Dynarex brand)!! I just bought Natures Miracle Advanced Ultra on sale at Petsmart, 100pads for $39 which is a great price but I only use these in my crate due to that high price and for visit at friends houses. For daily use, I now go with Simply Right Super Absorbent 23x36 under pads from Sam's club which is also a very good product, not bad at keeping odor at bay, the size fits replacement crate trays, more room for 2 pups to use and best of all the cheap price tag of $24 for 120 pads and they are sold in-store, no need to order online. I will admit I would use these pads again if need be but there is no real savings in them as you do use more.

Black Large Martingale Heavyduty Nylon Dog Collar

Black Large Martingale Heavyduty Nylon Dog CollarJust to let you know the product itself isn't bad at all, and seems quite durable in quality. ONLY THING!!!!! I purchased 3 of these for when we do mobile pet adoptions with the shelter I volunteer at. These collars run giant, the large is like a giant size that could fit a moose. Even a very large headed pit bull, it was too large to use on her. If I had known I would have gotten mediums!!!!! So far, of the 3 purchased, havn't yet been able to use the product because the large is really that big without any exaggeration. Perhaps the large would fit well on a St Bernard sized dog. So buyers beware and if you have anything less then a giant sized dog stick with the mediums!!!! It is a good product and a fair price. I went for the deal and got 3 because I thought we could use them, and as I said, have not found a dog that's head it could fit so far after several months!!!!! I doubt we will ever be able to use these unfortunatly do to sizeing.

I have a martingale collar for each of my huskies they can't back out or slip out of it, and it's loose when they're walking on a loose lead.

This is a great collar and a useful tool for teaching a dog to walk on a leash. However, please DO NOT leave this on your dog in the house. Our dog died last week because she asphyxiated. My two dogs were playing and it got wrapped around one dog's lower jaw and we could not get it off in time. I want to save others from this tragedy.
