I have two large dogs (a yellow lab mix and a husky Shepherd mix) who barked at everything (the kids coming in the door, the cat walking by, etc.). After only a few days using the remote trainer, the barking subsided. The yellow lab was quicker to learn what would happen when she barked and after a while, just knowing she was wearing the collar was enough. The husky Shepherd mix, however, has much thicker fur and while he could certainly feel the ramifications of his continuous barking, he didn't respond as well as a dog with less fur. Just keep that in mind. Otherwise, great product that doesn't automatically zap at the barking and let's you control and "train".

Yes, it's pricey but this is a case where you "get what you pay for". I went to the big Pet Supply Stores, the smaller local store and 3 farm supply stores and did not see (or rather, feel) a leash that came close to this one. It's easy on the hands, soft and flexible from the first time out.

Yes, I am into pink again-after finding and adopting a stray female wild pup. Gentle Leaders are a very nice way to walk and train a pup, without pain. Buy one, I think you too will appreciate the virtues.

My rescue pup is an 80 pound Great Pyrenees who never saw a leash before I picked her up a week ago. She is one powerful dog and, although she resisted the Gentle Leader at first, she now walks nicely with it on. No pulling. My last dog was a 70 pound Akita/Lab mix. I was using a choker collar with him for years, but when I discovered this Gentle Leader, I changed him over to it. He never pulled again. He did not like it, and he would get it off his nose when I was not looking, but walking him became so much easier. Easy on my back, easy on his neck. This head harness is amazing. I can't stress it enough that you need to really read the instructions before trying it out. The back strap needs to be HIGH near the ears. Be ready to run out the door immediately after putting it on the first few times so the dog is distracted. Our dog rubbed her face a couple times on the first walk, but then went with it.

The difference is insane. She is 80lbs and could pull your arm off. Once she got used to this after two walks, we literally hold the lead with a single finger. It also helps control her when she is reactive toward other dogs. The nose loop stays far back on the snout so she is never limited on her breathing.

Great product and we've tried a LOT.

I got this in hopes to reduce my need for cat litter. It did help in that manner for a while. The need to stick to the schedule and instructions is very necessary. Plus EVERYONE in the house needs to help stick with them and you will be surprised as I was that I had Cat's in the bathroom using the toilet to pee... I believe had the rest of my house hold also helped that I would have gotten at least the two to use the toilet full time and possible gotten another to use it. Don't fret the little things or any accidents the babies have, it just takes some time to get them use to doing and using something so unnatural to them but it really works!!!

I have a blue-heeler-corgi mix and she's basically been untrainable with major behavioral issues. She is hyper beyond hyper and even with long walks and runs, there is no stopping her. This was used as a last resort and I cannot be more pleased. I was desperate because nothing was working for my dog. It has helped me teach her basic commands and even helps with walking on the leash (which was a nightmare before). It comes with both short and long prongs (I use the longer prongs because she has long hair). I like how there are a hundred different levels. On the shock part, I have only used up to a 10 level. She usually gets the point at 5, but there are instances where 5 just wasnt cutting it. There have been a couple of slight whimpers when she does get shocked, but no burns on the skin or anything extreme like skin irritation or loud yelps. She usually just 'hits the deck' when she gets shocked. I love how this thing also has a vibrate setting. I use it as a warning shot, or something to break her attention when she's overly focused on something. It has 100 settings for the vibration feature as well. It also has a noise feature, which is a honk-buzz type of noise. Its a great deterrant for when she is messing with things she is not supposed to touch (like shoes). It comes with a really bright LED light as well. The collar is adjustable, but if my dog was any smaller than 35 pounds, Im not sure it would fit her too well. She doesnt seem to mind it though. It is bulky looking, but doesnt seem to interfere with playing, sleeping, eating, etc. The only complaint I have about this thing is that you have to constantly reprogram it (if it loses signal, batteries die, drop the remote and the batteries of that pop out, etc.) and it kind of eats triple A batteries. Make sure to hold onto the instructions. Purchase some rechargable batteries while you are at it. Overall, great price. Great product. And it has kinda restored sanity in my home. :)

Bought this to help controll barking. The item seemed to be well built however after two weeks the power for the remote went dead and replacement battires are not of a standard size or make like aaa or aa or 9volt

I waited to use the item so returning it was not an option.

Oddly one came with one handle and one with two. I use the two handles on my other, larger tugs, but on the smaller ones, I like just one. No Biggie, just cut it right off. Be careful when ordering any of the tugs you see. Many of them might say 2" but the photo shows a 4". Doesn't matter, my dog loves them all. She is a female American Pit Bull Terrier and since I have been giving her an outlet with these tugs, to drain some of her prey drive, she is super mellow and calm. She loves people but can get a little over-excited and ten or twenty minutes a day with these tugs and she is mellow as any terrier can be.

I have fed my dogs these for several years and never have had a problem with them. My one dog is 17 and i have given these to him all his life. I also have 2 yorkies and 2 maltachons they are 2 to 5 years in age and never had any problems with these treats. I know some people have had some problems with chicken jerkey treats but i never have and they all love them. Maybe some dogs are sensitive to them even as some people are with certain foods but as i said no problems here i will continue to buy them.

The whistle is good quality, solid metal. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because the keychain loop is attached to the plastic pull-off cap, not to the whistle itself. So you can't hang the whistle around your neck and just bring it up and give it a tweet; you have to remove the cap first. Although many of the silent dog whistles seem designed like that, it seems to me that the whistle itself could and should have an attachment point.

About that cap. I feel like an idiot saying this, but it took me a good 10 minutes to get the cap off. I spent a while thinking it screwed off, but you just have to give it a very mighty pull. Once the cap is off, you can adjust the tone of the whistle by turning the metal post at the end of the whistle. Then you can tighten the little metal ring to keep the post at that length.

As others have noted, the whistle is not actually silent to humans. To me it doesn't sound very loud, but high-pitched and annoying. I presume it sounds louder to the dog. My dog (German Shepherd cross) sure perks up and comes running for a tasty treat. That's what I wanted, so so far so good. I don't really see how it would stop a dog from barking, though unless maybe from surprise, the first couple times.

If you expect this whistle to be truly silent you will be disappointed. If you believe it's purpose is to stop your neighbors dog from barking or any such nonsense you are sadly mistaken. This is an excellent communication device when used properly. Adjust the length until the pitch gets your dogs attention and then link various patterns of long and or short tweets to known commands. It works great.

Attempting to use this thing for anything else is witchcraft.

This is a great product. It securely holds the standard size piddle pad, and keeps them from moving around on the floor. I can put severaly pads on the holder at once, and simply remove the top pad once my Pomeranian pees. Worth the price!

My 1 year old Schnoodle is pottypad trained. I won't go into the boring details, but due to circumstances, this was and is the only option for his pottying needs. I started with the standard pottypad holder, first the small size when we brought him home, graduating to the large size as he grew. Like others, I don't know how it does it but it stays dry. I have a small dog that just never got the whole potty training thing. I also have a large older dog that is starting to have accidents from time to time. So I have bought a couple of each and they are great. The prices are reasonable and save you $, keeping you from buying the disposable ones. & most importantly keep all of that nasty plastic out of the landfills.

These pads are nice quality for the price. They do become saturated much quicker than disposable pads. These would be good for travel like when I take my dogs with me to the in-laws. The brown hides the stains better. If you want to use these full time, I would buy one for each day of the week especially with bigger dogs.

I immediately noticed that the stains spread much quicker across the pad. With disposable pads, the stain pretty much stays where she leaves it. With this, the stain spreads across the pad in a larger space than the original stain. Keep in mind I have Chihuahuas so I think with bigger dogs they would need to be changed daily.

So overall this is a decent product but not as absorbent as disposable pads. I would use it either for travel or to put under regular pads in case the dog misses the pad when she goes. These are not a disposable pad replacement.

Got these for my tiny new Havanese puppy, under 2 lbs. when we got her. Havanese are infamous for shredding paper so none of the paper pads worked. Although the mere thought of putting these in my washing machine freaked me out I gave them a try and now we are hooked -she's never even nibbled a corner of these and is very attracted to the "carpet-like" :) surface. I use the Mega steam and extra rinse cycles with a little oxy stuff thrown in. Sophie Tsu Nami now weighs 6.5 lbs. and I'm ordering several more of the bigger 27 x 32 size since she under-estimates her size now and thinks if her paws are on the pad her bum is too. I was originally a bit grossed out about throwing these in my washer but I always wash a load of rags after and have never had a problem. Plus my dog only urinates on them. I do tend to put some baking soda in the wash just in case but it's because of the other brand of pads I purchased prior to these.

The first brand of pads that I found seemed to disperse more liquid, which dried faster and therefore left more area for my dog to go again if I wasn't home yet. However, even after the first use and wash, they tend to still smell. I end up spraying them with Febreeze while they are hanging to dry.

We have had an ugly cover on our leather couch for nearly two years because our furry friends liked to use it as a bathroom (their way of making editorial comments). Now we can actually use the couch and don't have to cover it! The combination of the alarm and air squirting keeps them completely off. We are a multiple cat household and I'm not sure how we would survive without the SSSCat Cat control system. We have several of them set up around the house. One keeps our cats from rattling our bedroom door in the morning, a couple of others keep them off certain pieces of furniture, and so on. We have been using them for years and our cats have never gotten so accustomed to them that the sprays have stopped being effective. Placing the top on the refill cans can be a bit tricky at first, but is easy enough once you get the hang of it. The refills may seem a bit pricey, but ours typically last for several months because the cats recognize them and, so, rarely set them off.

I have two of these, one for an 80lb Akita, one for a 65lb Korean Jindo. My wife and I were walking the dogs using the no-pull connection in the front. The dogs saw a cat. The Jindo, of course, pulled and the strap holding the front loop broke. (My wife did catch him by the back handle). On examination, the strap holding the front loop appeared frayed where the stitching broke. I can't tell if there was a problem with the stitching or the material, but this incident happened within a month of purchase and with little use of the front connection. I have no confidence in the front connection for the Akita, a more powerful dog. The no pull feature does help, but I can not use it with the Jindo and dare not with the Akita. Other than that, these harnesses appear well designed. The side strap and, especially the back handle/leash connector are very strong.

I received the new shrink wrapped product in days, just as advertised. The harness was instantly put in use. I recommend checking the sizing chart carefully, you could end up with a harness that is to big (not in my case). The handle is great as well as the no pull front leash attachment. I recommend this product.

I needed to have control of her between searches but also wanted to have a comfortable harness that she could use for searching the multiple rings are great for that. The front ring gives me control and the rear ring is great for when she is searching. Product is well made and fits good.

This harness is extremely high quality. Our dutch shepherd has a 28" girth, is lean and muscular. This harness is at least 3 inches too small around her chest as it is supposed to fit a 24-29". Maxed out, the straps absolutely will not allow the quick release to snap in. All other measurements are perfect. I am leery of ordering the 30"-39" as I think she would be swimming in it. This harness still gets a 5 star from me as the quality is superb, it is not the companies fault that my dogs shape does not match their harness.

I purchased this to use for tracking. After measuring my dog several times to make sure I absolutely had the right size (she measured 32" and I've measured dogs for things before) I ordered the medium. Wrong!! When I got it, there was no way it fit her. I was pretty disappointed as I've been having to use a regular 'walking' harness with her and was ready to have a 'working' harness for her. What a disappointment! Then when I called the company they told me it wasn't their problem and that I had to call Amazon, even though the e-mail they sent me said to call them before posting a bad review.
