Training Clicker for Dog, Pet, Cat, Horse - BLUE

Training Clicker for Dog, Pet, Cat, Horse - BLUEThe action is very smooth and certainly won't cause tingling in your fingers as some will. I would recommend this one for indoor use and with sensitive pets. For outdoor use at a distance you may want something a bit louder. Dogs have excellent hearing when they want to, and this is certainly something they want to hear!

This clicker is great for beginner and experienced clicker users. If you haven't considered using a clicker to train your dog, I encourage you to do some research. My dog responds extremely well to clicker training and the I-Click is by far the best clicker I've ever used. The button is much easier to press than the standard rectangular clickers and it's also contoured and attractive.

Also, if you are in a class with other dogs, their owners, and their clickers, your dog will have a better chance of distinguishing the sound of this clicker from the traditional rectangular ones.

Buy Training Clicker for Dog, Pet, Cat, Horse - BLUE Now

The I-Click's shape makes it easy to use since it fits so well into the hand and conforms to the thumb. Add to that the softer sound that makes so much sense and this is about as good as it gets. It is my preferred clicker and I highly recommend it to others.

This is a great, easy to use clicker for clicker training. There's space to attach a wristlet if you want it to hang from your wrist, or attach it to your set of keys. It's easy to use.

Want Training Clicker for Dog, Pet, Cat, Horse - BLUE Discount?

Fine product, it clicks well. It does what you expect it to. Issue is you have to have documents and training on how to make it work. I never did get any training to train my pet(s). Currently my wife uses it on occasion and states it is working for her. I've had her show me and I don't see anything that would make me believe it works.

For what it does, it does it well, it clicks. If you like clicking, I'd say this is the product for you. Maybe for some code talk between rooms, or as a sign to mean something else when it is clicked twice?

Overall, it was to loud for my Rabbit, and she didn't care much for training anyway. Maybe you'll fair better.

PetSafe/Innotek Probe Replacement Kit/Pack - Dog Shock Collar Parts - Probe Prong PostJust what I needed for my dogs collars. Need more words to complete this section of the form,,, here goes

This is a nice alternative to replacing the whole system. I bought this to replace my original probes which fell off the collar and got lost. Haven't had a problem with them. They keep the dog in the yard, unable to dig holes under the fence. Love them!

Pet Goods Pooch Passions Freeze-Dried Chicken Liver Dog Treats

Pet Goods Pooch Passions Freeze-Dried Chicken Liver Dog Treats, 16 OuncesWe took my dog Riley to the Vets yesterday and she had to give him two shots the rabies and another vaccine (im not sure what it was). Anyway she put a couple of these on the table and he started eating them. He didn't even know she had given the shots to him to him. He didn't flinch or any thing. We bought a pack and now he loves them we are training him how to sit, and boy is it working when we use these.

My dog cannot be bribed. I have tried EVERYTHING. The only thing he can be bribed with so far are these treats and real food (steamed chicken meat, peanut butter, and cheese whiz). I can't really use these for training, because he still doesn't like it as much as the human food. But it's an good treat if I want to reward him for going potty in the right place in a pinch.

My pack didn't come crushed like some of the other brands. Some are crushed, and I do have to be careful with them if I want to pack them to go. I need to put them in a hard plastic container to keep them from turning into powder. Also avoid getting them wet...man they become one sticky mess when they do.

My dogs adore these. And it is great to give a treat that I know is not full of fillers and chemicals. Handy bite sized pieces.

Pooch Passions please change back to old/original formula for the beef liver. In early 2009 beef's texture has been changed from light, airy, easy to cut as well as chew from the dog's point of view, to this hard, dry, non chewable block, that will either break their teeth or cause them to choke.

Please change the beef liver back to the way it was six months ago and please do not "mess up" the chicken liver.

Thank you

Coastal Holt Dog Walking Collar

Coastal Holt Dog Walking Collar, Black, 2I'm not easily impressed, especially with dog training gadgets, but this definitely impressed me. We recently rescued a 2 year old pit bull, weighing a skinny 65 pounds. He loves to run after anything that moves (dogs, cats, chickens, deer, etc), and will nearly pull me across the field when he gets a bead on something. Once he gains some more weight, I will not be able to hold him back if he decides to go after something. I bought the Halti (size 3) to try. WOW!!! Fortunately, he didn't fuss too much about it being on his muzzle he pawed at it a little, but I distracted him with a treat. Took him for a walk and he immediately learned that if he pulls, it tightens around his snout and it pulls his head towards me, whereas if he walks without pulling, it's very comfortable. He walked so good the first time, that I took him near the chicken pen just to test it out. As soon as he lunged, the Halti did what it's designed to do. He immediately quit lunging and walked obediently. I'm still amazed at how easily and quickly this worked.

I was so impressed that I went to buy one for my other dog (a pit bull mix, about 55 pounds, loves to pull while walking). They were out of the size that I needed, so I bought the more expensive Gentle Leader instead. She did not like it at all. Where the Halti is not snug on the muzzle unless the dog pulls, the GL has to be somewhat snug just due to its design. I did not like how the GL seemed to pass right under her eye sockets. I will be taking it back and getting the Halti.

The other feature that I liked about the Halti is that it has a semi-muzzle function to it. As the dog lunges forward, the band around the snout tightens making it difficult for the dog to open its mouth. The GL doesn't do this at all. The Halti is designed more like a horse halter and fits the larger, longer snouts of dogs exceptionally well. It does not cut up under the eye like the GL. (I can see where the GL might work better on squishy-faced dogs.)

I won't rant and rave about the benefits and drawbacks of using a headcollar each dog is different and responds differently to various training tools, and I'm assuming that you've found this product based off your own research and recommendations from trainers and friends.

The hard part is deciding which headcollar type to use. In the past decade, I've used several different headcollars, including the Halti, the Gentle Leader, the Petmate AKC Headcollar, and the Holt. In my opinion, the Holt is the sturdiest, most comfortable, and most flexible headcollar of the whole bunch, and is a worthy successor to my previous favorite, the Halti.

The Company Of Animals Halti Head Halter Black Size Halti Head Halter Black Sz 0 Training & Behavioral Aids

The Halti was, previously, the best halter for a very simple reason: it had side-straps on either side of the dog's face that prevented the noseband from riding up a dog's face and digging into the dog's eyes. It also worked without cinching the dog's mouth shut, like the Gentle Leader. However, the noseband was not padded, and while I made my own homemade padding for the noseband, it was at least very wide to prevent the material from biting into the dog's skin (unlike the Gentle Leader). The Halti generally came only in black, though colors could be found online. The Halti, despite being designed to function loose (and allowing a dog the full use of its mouth), often made your dog look "vicious" by wearing a "muzzle", particularly in the black color. Prior to the holt, this was the most comfortable.

HALTI PROS: comfort, looseness, prevents noseband from riding up, safety buckle connects to collar

HALTI CONS: limited colors, no padded noseband, can not be cinched tight for short-nose breeds

Gentle Leader Head Collar, Size: Small, Color: Royal Blue

The Gentle Leader, however, was the choice for short-nosed breeds. The Halti suffered when a shorter-snouted dog pawed at the noseband to remove it. The Gentle Leader's design cinched the dog's mouth closed with a locking mechanism, allowing it to be used snugly on short-nosed breeds. For standard-shaped noses, the cinching could be kept more loose to allow for more comfort. It did not have the side straps like the Halti, so it could ride up into the dog's eyes. The noseband was narrow and not padded (unless you shell out extra $ for the premium version not found in stores), so it bit into the dog's skin at the top of the nose. However, it came in multiple colors which helped it look less like a muzzle.

GENTLE LEADER PROS: color choices, cinches tight for short-nose breeds, safety buckle connects to collar

GENTLE LEADER CONS: uncomfortable narrow non-padded noseband (note: premium GL has nose padding, but still narrow), can ride up into eyes

Petmate 3/4-Inch by 16-24-Inch Medium AKC Padded Dog Halter, Brown

New to the game was the Petmate AKC-branded headcollar. This came in many colors and was pre-fitted with a fleece padded noseband. The noseband color is always brown, and there are additional options for colors of the straps. This headcollar looked the least like a muzzle. However, the locking mechanism was not sturdy and would often slide, allowing dogs (even long-nosed breeds) to paw the noseband off their face. It also did not come with a safety strap to connect the headcollar to a dog's normal buckle collar (though one could be homemade very easily). It also buckles underneath the neck, rather than on the side of the face.

PETMATE AKC PROS: color choices, fleece padded noseband

PETMATE AKC CONS: loose & slide-able lock, no safety strap to connect to collar

Now, onto the Holt. The Holt is identical to the Halti except for two key features: a "camlock" and a foam-padded noseband. The camlock is a very tight locking mechanism that does NOT budge when the dog paws at the noseband. It is a great tool to keep the headcollar ON your dog. For short-nosed breeds, the camlock can be set tight and will stay in place. It has the same great features of the halti to prevent the noseband from riding up into the eyes, and the safety strap to connect the headcollar to a buckle collar. In addition, the noseband is padded with black foam material, not fleece, and is extremely soft and comfortable. It is sewn on the underside of the headcollar, and does not interrupt the color (can not be seen while the dog is wearing the headcollar). The Holt comes in a variety of colors, including red, pink, and blue.

HOLT PROS: extremely comfortable, foam padded noseband, noseband doesn't ride up into eyes, camlock keeps noseband in place even with short-nosed breeds, multiple colors

HOLT CONS: ???

If you are considering a headcollar to train your dog, I highly recommend the Holt for all breeds. It is a worthy successor to the Halti and addresses the cons of that headcollar.

Please note that I have included customer photos showing the Halti and the Holt side-by-side in the "customer photo" section here:

We have purchased a great many collars, but even the gentle leader, which is a similar product, could not keep our big dogs at heel, but this did. The other reviewers are correct, dogs may chew through it. But that is true of most soft collars, and this is a much better choice than metal chokers. Simply keep an eye on your dog and you should be okay, because when the halti is taught, on walks, it's unbeatable. I rarely write reviews, but it's such a pleasure strolling with it, we thought it was helpful that we share.

We have used the Holt Dog Walking Dog Collar on several dogs who have "pulling" problems when walking and have found it to be very effective. The Holt Collar should only be used when walking and training your dog. It it not meant to be escape proof and should only be used when you are with your dog (i.e. do not tie the dog to a pole and walk away).

The collar has a safety strap that is to be attached to your dog's regular collar to prevent your dog from getting loose if they pull the Holt off their head. It is important to read the manual that comes with the Holt Collar and to fit the collar to the animal correctly. You can view the manual at the manufactures web site.

[Amazon won't allow the link to the web site, just do a search for Coastal Pet Products]

Several dogs I have used this on did not like it at first (ok they loathed it entirely) but you just need to work with them in steps and they will get used to it.

Holt Size Breed Examples

0 Miniature Dachshund, Papillon, Toy Poodle, Yorkie

1 Border Terrier, Cairn Terrier, Jack Russell, Standard Dachshund

2 Beagle, Border Collie, Cockers, Saluki, Schnauzer, Standard Poodle

3 Afghan, Boxer, Chow Chow, Dalmatian, Doberman, Greyhound, Husky

4 Mastiff, Clumber Spaniel, Great Dane, Newfoundland, Rottweiler

5 Bloodhound, Large Danes, Mastiffs, St. Bernard

(more breed examples listed in owner's manual found at manufacture's web site)

Unfortanately Holt uses breeds instead of actual dimensions for sizing. Keep in mind that dogs of the same breed can very in size, if your dog is smaller or larger then average you might have to adjust the size up or down accordingly.

The Halti must be correctly sized and unfortunately the sizing info to determine the correct size is poor. The Holt sizing chart is based on breeds and didn't work for my mutt. Way too big. Why don't they provide the sizing info based on the circumference of the muzzle and neck?

Parachute Nylon Choke Collar, 22" Tan

Parachute Nylon Choke Collar, 22' TanThe nylon choke collar is your best bet for training. I have the chain choke collar but it gives a warning when it tightens with a click sound and then doesn't release as readily as the nylon version. For the easy to somewhat hard to train dog this is my recommendation. My Aussie Shepherd who is very smart, FULL of energy and wants to go-go-go needed some correction slowing down on walks & staying close to me. Things weren't progressing with the chain collar. I was told about the nylon version and searched for it in major pet stores as well as boutique stores and couldn't find it. I finally searched Amazon. The price is GREAT! So start with this collar first and if you find you have a hard to train dog who's stubborn & very dominate I would recommend the more expensive Martingale Collar in a chain or webbing version.

Mikki Training Target Stick

Mikki Training Target StickPurchased this item to help me train my new shih tzu puppy Chewy to ring a doorbell when he wanted to go out. It was great fun and Chewy along with my other dogs learned quickly. In 10 minutes he learned to stand on his hind legs for a treat. With the small ball he learned how to ring the bell in about the same amount of time. I think the other dogs learned how to target just as quickly as well. I will be buying more very soon.

KONG Air Dog Fetch Stick with Rope Dog Toy

KONG Air Dog Fetch Stick with Rope Dog Toy, Large, YellowI bought this toy from a local Petsmart for my 2 yr. old Boxer. He had this toy chewed up within 20 minutes. The rubberband like material broke off into his mouth very easily. I recommend this toy ONLY if you only want to play fetch with this toy. Do not let your dog chew on it!!

My Black labs LOVE these things! They will fetch all day long or unitl I get tired of throwing them. They are easy to throw, provide a good and varied bounce and hold up pretty well. They are not a chew toy, although one of my labs thinks it okay to bite off the rope, bummer. When that happens, they get a shorter throw, but they don't care. After lots of fetching and abuse, the cover begins to come off. After the cover is torn completely off and the tug of war between the two dogs it ends up in two pieces. Time for another. I buy these a dozen at a time! They last as well as anything else I have purchased. To purchase locally they cost $14.99. What a rip! Great company service and excellent delivery time.

I bought the large version of this toy for my lab/shepard mix who is 65 pounds. My dog can go through toys pretty quickly so I tend to stick with brands that create the most durable toys to make my money last a little longer. The rope on this toy is made of nylon, not canvas like some of the other kong toys, and because it is made of nylon my dog ripped through the toy in less than 5 minutes. I literally opened the toy and by the time I turned around it was in two pieces. I gave it two stars because I was still able to use the fetch part of the toy without the rope.

My dogs love the Air Kong Line. It is a great item to play fetch with and with the shape of theis toy both dogs try to pull on it to bring it back. Unlike the other review, mine has lasted several months without much wear and tear (it is quite dirty though). All in all I would say that this is a great item for fetch and the dog park. The balls are also great as they are close to indestructable for my dogs but still sqeak to drive them nuts.

My Lab mix had the rope detached from the tennis ball material in less than 20 minutes. In the same time, she'd broken some of the individual strands of the nylon rope, so if one thing hadn't broken something else would have. Not durable, not recommended.

Petmate Pet Home Training Dog Crate Cover Size: 48", Color: Sand

Petmate Pet Home Training Dog Crate Cover Size: 48', Color: SandIt fit perfectly over the crate, and made it much less of an eyesore to look at. The dogs also love it because it gives them a more secluded place to hide. Very durable and easy to clean.

Our newest addition was getting stressed out by the cat walking by (and taunting, I'm sure) at night. We threw some blankets over the crate, but it was hot and uncomfortable, plus they often fell down in the middle of the night which woke us up as she would start barking at the cat.

This keeps her stress level down and has great ventilation for her, although I definitely would not leave it down if we didn't have AC.

I LOVE that you can unzip any side. It's really something I hadn't thought would be as amazing as it is.

I don't know how we ever did without this product, to be honest. Abbey loves it, and so do we.

Midwest Life Stages Double-Door Folding Metal Dog Crate

Midwest Life Stages Double-Door Folding Metal Dog Crate, 36 Inches by 24 Inches by 27 InchesIf you have a medium sized doggie and are looking for a crate because you live in an apartment, this particular model is a good choice. Crate training is amazingly simple (just don't use it for punishment--make it a happy experience when your puppy go into his crate). We have been using this for two months, and he takes to it easily.

1. Easy to put together and fold away. Solid black e-coat steel wire, conjoined with small metal plates with welded corners facing out. It comes with a slightly smaller divider that you can hook to the insides of the crate. As our puppy got bigger, we moved the divider and eventually removed it.

2. The two doors (one on the long end is off-centered) are not removable and opens only one way so it's not omni-directional when you place it in tight spaces. You may want to check out some crates with three doors if so.

3. The bottom tray is made of black-composite plastic material, easy to wipe clean and slide out from under the short end of the door.

4. I like the double latch, but some people may find it a little more work to open and close day-to-day.

5. If you buy a crate cover, check out Cratewear Pet Dreams 3-Piece (which fits this model well, but only work with the door on the short end).

6. For this price, it's a good crate to highly consider because your goal is to have a sanctuary for your puppy (for time out and quiet-time) and to housebreak your dog and/or temperate from negative behavior (such as chewing furniture, etc.)

I hope this review is helpful for you.

I bought this crate for my 30-lb beagle/terrier mix dog and it's great. It folds up in a cinch (it's literally 3 steps and takes about 10 seconds max) and has carry handles on the side, so it's really easy to transport. I like having the 2 doors so I have options of how I can place the crate in a room. There are latches on the top and bottom of each door so it's very secure. Great crate!

I purchased this crate from Petsmart for my newly adopted dog. They size these crates based on dog weight, but I would measure your dog to make sure they fit.

My dog is less than 45 lbs, but his head touches the top of this crate when he sits up. He has room to lay down, but he can't really stretch out. I am ordering the next size up from Amazon for him however, and will use this one as a travel crate.

It set up in less than a minute, and everything works very well on it. The crate seems very sturdy and I've had no problems at all.

We purchased this crate for our new 10-lb Labrador pup (who will eventually be 80+ lbs), and I couldn't be happpier with it. I only wish I had known about it 10 years ago when we got our German Shepherd pup, as we purchased multiple crates to accomodate her growing size. There is little to no set-up needed, as it literally just pops right up when you take it out of the box. The construction is very durable, with rounded edges. I thought the pan in the bottom would be cold for my dog, but it's made of some material that seems to always be warm. The adjustable divider that comes with it is very easy to move. My pup is very happy in his space!

I have this crate only larger 42inches for my border collie mix. We decided it was a little too big for her...although I am sure she doesn't mind :)Her large crate is going to our Husky for when she gets bigger, and our border collie will be getting this size crate. She absolutely loves it! It is her own bedroom. We don't crate her during the day but we do crate her while we sleep. I actually tried letting her sleep out of her crate and she kept moving around the room. Once she gets into her crate she pretty much passes out and falls asleep because she knows it means sleep time. The crate also folds down nicely and fits into our car without any problems. We just fold down the back seats and put our dog's bed on top and we are good to go! I would highly reccomend this crate to anyone. Having two different enterances is great! Our dog prefers the gate on the side. She always goes in without a problem! Also, I would highly recomend putting a bed inside during the winter and maybe a piece of carpet that covers the inside floor during the summer. This helps take away the noise of thier nails scratching on the plastic. Plus...they feel more comfortable.
