PoochPad Dog Bed

I bought this because I had a old dog that has some problems with incontinence. PS the vet can help with medication. But back to the bed. It is the best by far in construction and the cover is made to last through many washings. The fill is fluffy and the dogs love it. They never have to fluff it up themselves. It puffs back up when they get off of it. The zipper is top quality and the material is great. No more throwing away the bed because of urine getting in to the filler. My dogs just love it. And so does my wife. The cover washes up like a dream.

Bought two of these beds for my senior (12+ years) large (60+ lbs.) dogs. The cover material is durable and machine washes nicely. The interior pillow stays fresh and clean with the covers on. My senior dogs thoroughly enjoyed them until we brought a puppy into the house that systematically chewed the small-toothed zippers, breaking the zipper teeth, exposing the fluffy interior pillows. The uncovered pillows gave him another chew toy, resulting in the filling all over the floor. The covers themselves held up well, but no longer had the pillows to put inside them and could not zip the covers closed. I would see a puppy-proof zipper as a great improvement!

Once the puppy grows out of the oral stage (as the senior dogs did), I'll definitely consider getting these again. Not interested in buying $60 chew toys in the interim. :)

All I cal say is this pillow is nice, huge, fluffy, water (or pee) resistant, makes that dreaded cage time a lot more enjoyable. He doesn't want to poop on it either. That's certainly a good thing.

This is a comfortable bed with the waterproof poochpad on top, I think it is a good value. My new dog chewed it around the zipper, but I cut off the pooch pad, which is still usable, and threw away the sides and bottom.

I really wanted my dogs to love this bed. It came unbelievably fast and looks very nice. It's also sturdy and seems well made. I have two older dogs, one 50 lbs and one 20 lbs. It could be that the bed is very soft and it's hard for them to get on and off. The small dog won't get on it at all and the larger dog seems to have to launch herself in and out of it. Anyway, I'm still hoping that they'll adjust but for now, it's been a disappointment.

Update: The bigger dog is using it intermittantly. I think I may have been too hasty!

Grannicks Bitter Apple Dog Chew Deterrent, 32-Ounce

I have a Labrador puppy and I use Bitter Apple Spray on items I don't want him to chew. I use it on my shoes, my furnoture and on the tail of my older dog so he can't pull her around. It tastes awful and he won't chew anything that is sprayed! I highly recommend this as a way of training a puppy not to chew up the furniture.

Be advised that some dogs LOVE this stuff and will happily lick it up. My puppy will lick this even while it's still wet--in fact, I think in his case it works as an attractant, not a deterrent. I had no luck with different brands either, such as Bitter Yuck. We were discussing this topic in obedience class and I'd say it did not work for 60-75% of the puppies whose owners tried it. And the people who said it did work complained that they had to re-apply it every day. I think it is still worth trying, but don't get your hopes up that it is some sort of miracle spray.

My Golden Retriever likes to make a snack out of her paws. I have been applying this to her paws once in the morning and once before bed. She hates the stuff and it deters her from licking her paws. I have read that some dogs are not affected by it or actually like it. I have not found this to be true with my dog. My advice is to try it and see. If it works for you great. I have tried most of the deterents on Amazon and even one supplied by the vet with no success. Thank goodness for bitter apple

We were warned when we purchased this item to try it on something we didn't really care about because some dogs are attracted to it. Fortunately my puppy hates it and after her first taste of it she will avoid anything that smells like it when freshly sprayed. Unfortunately this does require that you reapply fairly frequently, especially to your hands, shoes, and anything else that gets used frequently. I have to put this on my hands because the puppy likes to play bite and she is deaf so it's difficult to teach her any other way, since she can't hear a loud "No!" We haven't had to reapply it to the table legs for about a week now, but the chairs need a reapplication. All in all this has been working really well for us and has helped to save our furniture. I would suggest starting off with a small bottle if you haven't tried it before, and if it works then get a bigger bottle.

This is a pretty good item and is cheaper than the ones you see on TV. I feel that a smell will be inevitable no matter which one you get after awhile. I have two of these pads and whenever one gets used I give it a deep clean and then hang it outside to dry while the other one is in use and so far they are still in great shape and I cannot smell them. I would recommend this product.

This is great,I got a puppy for Christmas and this is so convenient. Because the weather here has been so bad I put it in the laundry room and my dog uses it whenever she wants. I put paper between the layers so that the urine doesn't build up and just toss the paper and I just rinse off the grass with a mild detergent. Love it.

Price point was the main focus for this purchase, and it's actually not bad for being on the lower end of this product type. We live in a 3rd floor apartment with a balcony, so this product is perfect for us. Whenever our dog needs to go we just open the sliding door and she takes it from there. She goes right to the pad and does her business. It does what it says it does. However, it is really hard to get rid of the odor from the grass patch, so I've replaced it every few months. Also be sure to empty the urine at least daily or once every few days, otherwise it just becomes putrid. The tray is durable and it just needs an occasional rinse. I ordered it off Amazon and I received it in no time.

I've rated these fake grass pads highly because they helped us train our youngest dog to limit her outdoor pottying two two areas on our deck. Our other dogs who were wee-pad trained indoors decided to follow her lead, so these pads DO get used many times daily. I don't recommend them for indoor use because they will start to smell bad quickly and the urine smell will never go away completely, no matter how much you hose them or spray with bleach. But then it's the doggie wee smell that makes the dogs keep coming back, isn't it? Oh....one more thing. WARNING: When you use these pads in trays outside, hose them down AT LEAST every few days during cold weather and EVERY SINGLE DAY in hot weather. I also spray some Dr. Bronner's soap and some bleach on them regularly during the warmer months because if you don't keep these pads clean, all sorts of interesting things will want to live in them and lay their eggs....like flies, flies that look like bees, wasp-like flying insects, and black beetles that look like the ones they're always showing on CSI. I think it has to do with the beehive-like chambers in the plastic tray and the holes punched in the grass pads along with the dog urine which some insects like for its salt. Yes...that was one horrible summer when we learned all this!

I was ready to get rid of my 2 yorkies. They just simply won't go outside to do their business if it is raining, cold or just not perfect. I bought the pet park with a replacement pad and am now so much happier with my dogs. I simply put the tray down and they began using it immediately with no training whatsoever. Yes, it does have some smell but not nearly as bad as the family room rug did. It is not difficult to clean and I highly recommend buying a replacement pad to switch out to dry. Purchased this item to help me train my new shih tzu puppy Chewy to ring a doorbell when he wanted to go out. It was great fun and Chewy along with my other dogs learned quickly. In 10 minutes he learned to stand on his hind legs for a treat. With the small ball he learned how to ring the bell in about the same amount of time. It may sound crazy but from time to time I do taste what I feed my dogs especially when they are made with all natural ingredients.(no I don't taste test can food or their normal dry food) You can actually taste the blueberries. I've always liked the Zukes offerings and so do my pooches. When I noticed they made a product called turkey 'n taterz, I had to buy it so my girls could try it. Evie the bichon loved them right away and gobbled several of the flat-bottomed, oval treats in short order. Ever the fussy one, Piper the shih tzu had to be cajoled and had to see if Evie liked them. After her first taste, Piper was a convert soon begging for more.

**Well, I'm amending my review... in the negative. 10 more dogs found it completely unappetizing. Some wouldn't even pay attention to me when I held it out. The few who tried seemed to spit it out in confusion, like, "Why does a cookie taste bad? I don't understand this." Have to return. Wholly disappointing.

As a behaviorist at a local shelter, I need lots of different types of treats to keep dogs' attention. I trust Zuke's to make non-reactive yet enticing doggie snacks and had success with their moist "mini naturals", so I thought I'd give this a shot. I bought the Blueberry flavor. So far, 5 dogs have informed me in varying ways that they couldn't give less of a flip that these are edible. I've had them spat on the ground or flat-out ignored. I have no idea where Zuke's went so wrong with this treat, but 5 otherwise treat-motivated pups give it two paws down.

Risking disgusted stares, I will venture this information; I occasionally taste a crumb of a dog treat. These were entirely bland and tasteless, and frankly reminded me of the insides of a vitamin pill. No hint of blueberry or peanut butter... and downright sandy. They may be starting to sell old stock from the back of the warehouse, as others had good experiences earlier with this treat. I can't explain this shelter's unanimous population down-vote any other way.

After reading the reviews I bought one of each Zuke's mini bakes flavor. I have offered them to my own dogs as well as several training client's dogs. The reaction varies between dog smelling treat and turning away, dog taking treat and spitting it out, and dog taking treat reluctantly and eating it but not looking for more. All three flavors have a stale sawdust smell. No, I will not buy them again.

This looks just like the picture on the box, but that picture is so small that details are difficult to see. There is a flat rubber ring (grey) to keep the toy from moving, and inside that a white plastic rim. Inside the rim rests the scratching pad. It is blue and made out of dense cardboard, in many layers. There are holes in the card that my cats love! This appeals to them greatly, and the cardboard seems to be impressively sturdy. The toy comes with some catnip to help teach your cats to like it, and they also suggest hiding small treats in the holds. I did that, and it helped more than the catnip -my cats love the hidden treats. Both of my cats use it for scratching naturally, and the older cat also loves to sleep on it.

I very much like that the material is not rug. The rug scratching posts are a HUGE mistake, because they teach cats to sharpen their claws on rugs, and this is a very difficult habbit to break. The blue scratching pad did sometimes come out the first few days, but it is easy enough to put back where it belongs. After the first week, the cats stopped taking the blue scratching pad out of the white/grey holder. The cardboard has taken some damage from cat claws, but only a few surface imperfections. This is less than I expected given the heavy use it has gotten over the last two months.

This scratching pad has now lasted 4 years use by two cats. The surface has lasted better than my rug scratching posts the same age. I definitely got my money's worth.

Bought the set and our cats just ignored the scratch pad. I was thinking of donating it to a shelter because it was just using up room.

Suddenly, one started to use it, then the rest joined in. Now I need to order refills.

This seems like a good idea but my cat ignored it after the first day mainly because the cardboard part pulls out of the plastic shell too easily. She could hook it and pull it free on her second try. Not much of a scratching pad. I tried repositioning the pad and even wrapping some tape around it to make it fit in the frame more snugly but she could still pull it free. In addition, the cardboard is easily pried apart so she can actually remove pieces of the layers and possibly choke on them. Now the whole thing's in the trash where it belongs.

It is a well built product, but neither of my cats are interested in it. I rubbed catnip all over it (a few times) and left it sitting out for at least a month, but both of my cats ignored it. I'm disappointed, but we all know how fickle cats can be, I don't really blame the product.

These beds are overall pretty nice. The demensions seem a little off for the standard wire dog kennel but the one I ordered was only about an inch smaller than my kennel so my dog didn't seem to mind and slept well overall. I like that there are several colors to choose from as well. Shipping took a long time as they said it was on backorder which was somewhat annoying but I wasn't in a hurry to get it so it ended up not being that big of deal.

Innotek Multivet SSSCat Deterrent 4.5 oz Pack of 6 Unscented Refill Repellents

We have owned four of these for about a year now, and I can say they WORK!! The cats really try to avoid them. One of them has figured out that if he can knock it over, it is not nearly as effective. We now have to find ways to keep it proped up.

The only downside to the Ssscat system is the price of these spray cans. They do not have nearly 200 sprays, as claimed, and I have found each one of the sensor heads is different in its sensitivity.

I am wondering if perhaps the heads leak some of the gas out over time, and that is why they seem to run out too soon. The cats test them occasionally, and when one runs out, they know it.

All in all, the system works as advertised. If only the price of the cans were less!!

Ssscat is safe and effective. My cats don't like to be sprayed so they stay away from the area of the spray. I have bought several Ssscats and have found that they do vary on how often they spray, and on the range of their sensors. However, even when they don't spray every time a cat comes near it, the cats don't want to be near the Ssscats. I find the Ssscat cost to be on the high side. I have found that buying the refills in bulk is a better deal.

This is a great product, I have two 3 year old brothers and they get bored when I am not home. They like to get on my counter tops and stove when I am away and I hate cat hair on my cooking surfaces. I turn on the device and they don't jump on the counters, they don't like the noise or the light spray. This product is great, I 1st bought it two years ago and I love it. But when it runs out, they know and I have to try to keep it in stock. This is a really great product and Especially Pets delivers so fast that it gets there before you have to look for it. Most times I get it within a few days after I order.

This is the refill air can for the Ssscat battery-operated pet deterrent system (which I've reviewed separately). This is a good system, but the cost of this can of air is ridiculous compared to spray cans with actual contents (like wax, air freshener, disinfectant, etc.) available in every grocery store.

The person who comes up with a more reasonably priced substitute should make money. I'd be a customer! Until then, however, I guess we're stuck with this high-priced version. I'd give this a higher star rating if it weren't so expensive.
