I have golden retrievers, and one of them needed this. Badly. It has completely eliminated his barking, at least when I'm home and from what my neighbors have told me. Unlike the Cairn terrier in the other post, my golden has decided he's not taking ANY chances, so if the collar is on, he's quiet. I have no idea if the battery is dead, and I rarely attempt to refill it.

I'm guessing the success of this really depends on the dog, and how badly it feels the need to bark.

I hate to admit that I used the bark shock collar years ago on another dog, and, while it was effective, I felt it was cruel. I never feel guilty about using this one. In fact, it was funny to watch his reaction the first few times he got sprayed.

We have a 7 lb Maltese who barks quite alot. We've tried shaking stones in a can, spraying water in his face, smacking newspaper on a hard surface....none worked! This collar does work. He doesnt' like the smell of the citronella or being sprayed. But the unit on the collar is large for these smaller dogs. I wish the company wold develop a smaller sized unit for smaller dogs.

The first thing I noted was how poorly the adjustable collar was set up. My cairn terrier immediately was able to undo it and get it off--after which, he began to chew it up. To deal with the bad neck circumference adjusting mechanism, I used a very small plastic tie instead, and trimmed it short with the sharp side facing out. This did the trick, and since my dog was the only one who would ever wear it, I didn't have to worry about changing the length again. I also did the same operation for my father's 6 collars (same brand) for his large Bouvier dogs. The spray mechanism is rather big for a small cairn terrier, but it does work and doesn't seem to be too weighty. Caution: whistle in the speaker of collar to test if it works each time. My dog is smart enough to check for himself and will bark himself silly if the citronella has run out (which it does a lot!!!) or the battery is dead. Keep extra cans of citronella and batteries on hand, or you will regret it. I use this collar on my dog daily, so I check it each time because my neighbors are raw over his incessant barking. Works great! I have never used a shock collar, but this collar really helps my dog. Especially at the dog park when they get fixated on something or some dog and I need an easy way to get them to refocus.

Please do no think this means it will help a dog with problems at the park though. Mine are well trained but one is old and hard of hearing and the other is a young rescue. I made sure they are not aggressive and listen to me, but at big dog parks where they can separate easy it works for me.

This is a great choice for a dog that tends to pull at times. I have this in medium and large. This medium size is perfect for my 45# shar pei and for my 66# shar pei. The medium is listed for dogs up to 45# and has 3 cord strands. The large size was too heavy with the 4 stands for my larger male who doesn't tend to pull. The medium really fit them both well. The large size up to 165# is a very heavy duty product with 4 bungee cord strands that would be an excellent choice for a dog larger and more active than my lazy male CSP.

It is an attractive and very well made leash. I fasten the hand grip in a waist belt for jogging with my 45# CSP. It is durable. If your dog suddenly pulls, the leash gives with the bungee so you are not suddenly jerked by your dog. Ideally, all our dogs would walk or run nicely beside us and never jerk away at a passing squirrel or cat. But, if your dog is like mine--you can never be sure when she will see something that she can't resist!

Do they stop my hounds from pulling? No. They're the houndiest of hounds, and they like pulling. Perhaps these leashes would have been helpful if they had been puppies and just learning to walk on a leash, but they were all adult shelter dogs when I got them.

However, in every other way these leashes are great. I bought the first two at a pet show several years ago. I just bought the third one for my newest adoptee. The leashes are extremely sturdy and the padded handles are easy to grip. Aside from being a bit dirty now, my original two leashes still look brand new. For me, the 3-foot length is perfect, as if the leads are too long the three hounds tend to get the leashes tangled when all three are walked at the same time.

Using these leashes (bought 3 others in different weights and lengths) to train 2 Labrador Retrievers... one 50 lbs the other 80 lbs. Product works well to get their attention with a short pull on the leash, plus allows for lapse of concentration on the pups part too (say when they see a rabbit... you don't get your shoulder pulled out of its socket). The product is incredibly well made of high quality materials.

I bought this leash to help alleviate jerking motions my young Eskie causes during our walks. If you know American Eskimo dogs, you know they aren't the greatest on leashes. They're a very independent minded dog and tend to sprint or leap unexpectedly on leashes, although they are incredibly trainable in other ways. I picked the 3ft length because I live in the city. I can't let my pup (he's 9 months) get 6ft away from me on busy streets and sidewalks.

PRO: As far as function goes, this leash does EXACTLY what it promises. It's durable and stretches just enough to absorb the force but no so far that it's rubbery. For that reason, it scored 5 stars.

CON: I was really disappointed that when I ordered it, the 3-foot variety for dogs weighing up to 65lbs didn't come in more than one color scheme on Amazon. I ordered it anyway hoping that when it arrived I'd be pleasantly surprised. However, the moment I saw it come out of the box: "Ugh." I saw recently they added a blue-black-gold variety, and I wish it was available when I ordered this one.

The colors are muddy. I REALLY dislike camouflage color schemes for dog accessories and was hoping the gold bungee would make the leash not appear so camo, but it's definitely camo-looking.

The 165lb 3ft leash comes in at least three different color schemes, but I don't need one nearly so strong for my 18-pound pup. And before anyone says I should have ordered one of the many Bungee Puppee leashes for dogs 25lbs and under, they are all 6 feet long and not what I need.

For function, it's PERFECT. But for appearance, it's a let down and so I deducted one star.

I needed these for my cat who had major surgery and needed to keep the area clean and free from him licking. but there was no product for cats. I used this one because it was for small dogs. it is his size but the whole was too close so he still managed to get the pee out the whole. other than that, it reminds me of Huggies and I really liked the absorbancey.

I found that these disposal pet diagpers did not fasten properly and didn't not stay on my 14 lb dog. I would not purchase them again.

This tie out cable is a great buy. It works very well for our dog. She is medium sized at 35lbs. I feel she is secure and it is light enough for her to move around freely while checking out the neighbors and eating a treat.

Beefier then the leash I'm replacing. Hopefully will withstand MN winters better then the other. Seems obvious from inspection it will. Ordered it and got it a day or two later.

This is a heavy duty cable to connect my dog to his overhead cable-trolly, to replace a similar one that broke after several years of use. It can be hard to find just the connecting cable so we don't have to re-purchase the entire set-up when the cable inevitably wears out. Very happy to find this on amazon.

I have a hard 11 month old American Bulldog Puppy (95lbs) and he had a few trouble spots in his obedience (running out in the street, chasing other animals/dogs, poor recall). After 1 month of consistent training, there is a serious improvement. He recalls flawlessly, no longer running after cars, chasing animals... and his focus and attention to me has been a complete 180 from before working with the collar.

The range has not been tested outside of 200yards, but out to that it has been perfect. The power levels are more than sufficient to correct the dog (even the 95lb brute I have). The instruction manual and DVD are excellent training for the master/owner of the dog. Excellent product!

I was skeptical about getting an E-collar but I was willing to take a chance. I have a springer spaniel that is very active with his dad (me). We go out on my families' land a lot and are always outdoors. My little guy would allow his sniffing nose to get himself up to 75 yds away from me with me yelling "Here" "Come" and whistling my certain whistle that he "should" know always means COME...well needless to say sometimes it would take a lot to get him to come and I would become very frantic in trying to find him...he is my best friend and I love my little buddy a lot and I never want to lose him or hurt him with any type of shock---I actually tried the collar shock on myself to feel the effects---I have not had to set the device above 2---number 1 you cannot feel at all hardly...number 2 setting you can definitely feel and it does feel like a static shock and would get my attention...I mostly wanted it like I said for out in the field and b/c springers are known for jumping up so much "b/c they love everyone" but I have a lot of older people he is around especially my grandmother and my neighbor that he doesn't need to jump up on....I have worked with him a lot on this but he still needed a little help b/c my little pup is hard-headed (when he was a little puppy I picked him out b/c of this---all the little puppies came to me every time except him he would just sit and look like "why are you all running to him"--that's why I picked him out)...I love him and now after a couple of weeks all I really have to use is the toner and when he hears that beep with my command and most of the time the command just works he is up to me pretty quick sitting down and no jumping...so the toner is really all he needs now...if you want to try it, def. do---it will work...at least it did for me (and springers love water so the water proof quality is great too!)

I got this "good boy collar" for my lab to remind him that he needs to have good manners, even when he's not within arms reach. The option for an audible beep works great, and he rarely needs corrections beyond that now. The easily adjustable settings allow for just enough stimulation to remind him to behave, without making him too uncomfortable. Great product!
