My dog hasn't really taken to this yet. It's smaller than I expected and it's so heavy that she's afraid of it at the moment.

I think I would have been better off getting a lighter-weight frisbee.

Our frisbee dog loves these, either size. It takes some practice to get a good even, straight throw, but our 5 yr old can do it. They do take quite a beating/chewing, but if left alone our dog will chew the center out. Although, even with the center out it still flies. It's also easy on the teeth and gums for catching. Our dog gets bloddy teeth if catching the typical plastic frisbee.

Our Australian Cattle Dog loves the small size of this frisbee. It is soft enough to avoid hurting her mouth and she gets a great satisfaction out of shaking it as she brings it back. More pet store chains should be carrying this item.

You need to look around but this is the best Frisbee type disc on the market. I could not properly exercise my border collies without them. The small once re the perfect size. They are much easier on the gums and teeth then the hard vinyl and they will sail a long way. Don't use them as chew toys. Some sites are still offering them below $6. They have gone up in price with the rise in the cost of petroleum.

Midwest Accordian Pet Gate

I needed a gate to close off an area with an opening of 55". It is easy to either move sideways or push into itself to go in or out. If you're tall it would be okay to step over. I'm 5'4" and can barely step over it when fully extended. Be aware that the wider the area to block off, the shorter the gate. The narrower the area to block off, the taller the gate. It is not very sturdy, but it held when my lab pushed against it. She does not jump so the gate works perfect for her. If you have a big dog that is a jumper, it will probably be able to go over it easily. It is tall enough that my chihuahua cannot jump over it. The only negative is that I did not realize that it has to be attached to the wall. It comes with four short circle screws for wood and metal, and four long circle screws for drywall. I used the long screws, but made sure I put them into areas of the drywall with studs behind, since I want the gate to hold. The sides of the gate come with four metal hooks/slats that fit into the circle screws, the top two which have a latch. It's not fancy, and the protector (brown thing on top) is cheap looking plastic, but it does what it needs to do. Since my house is filled with browns and golds, it blends in. More importantly it keeps my dogs where I want them.

This is exactly as expected. It's relatively inexpensive but works well and was very easy to install. It opens and closes easily. Would get again.

This is the one I selected as being the best value in an adjustable size gate. I'm using it to keep the deer off our deck. Even though they could jump it in their sleep, it seems to work fine. It moves around a bit which I think make the little critters decide jumping isn't worth it. I'm sure it would work fine for kids and pets as well. Its bare wood and needs priming before painting. It can be opened at either end and swings either in or out too. All hardware and a simple latch are included.

Bark Control Collar

Was excited to get this for my son's barking boxer. The only huge problem with this device is the battery dies very quickly.

I turned the device off each and every time the boxer was inside, which was most of the time.

My father has a boder collie that is stubborn. She is very intelligent, and barks agressively when she does not get her way. The petsafe collar (with new batteries) does not even compare to how effective this is. This collar definately outsmarted her.

She lets out a yelp.... then is quiet.

Because of the pain that this inflicts, we obviously do not leave it on her all of the time. Just when she is in the car (on a cool summer day), or when she is too agressive (vocally)in the house (even after hours of "working" or playing frisbee in their 3 acre yard).

I really reccomend this brand and collar.

Just for shiggles, i wore this collar and barked. It was bearable. I think the dog yelps because it is a little bitch (28 pound female).

Freedom No-Pull Dog Harness Training Package with Leash

Easy to put on and remove as it does not tangle. Takes a lot of stress off the dog and makes her easy to control. Would purchase another any time.

This is a really nice, well-made harness, easy to put on and our dog seems to like it/feel comfortable with it on. It's very sturdy, and made in the USA, so it's not cheaply crafted. All the metal components (D-rings, clips, etc.) are thick and heavy-duty. The nylon is also thick and feels sturdy, and the part that goes behind our dog's front legs is velvety to prevent chafing.

I ordered the orange color, and it was actually orange and brown. The harness is mostly orange with just one loop on the back that is brown. The leash part is mostly brown, with just the loop that you hold orange. I like the dual colors, so this was not a con for me. I'm not sure if all the other colors are two-toned as well.

The reason I'm not giving this 5-stars is that I wouldn't say it was no-pull, as our dog definitely DOES pull when he gets very excited. I will say that this may be a training issue rather than any issue with the harness itself. I liked that you could hook onto the front and the back of the harness for more control, but our dog was just somewhat confused and refused to walk at all with the leash attached at the front. Fortunately, we found a good use for the front hook: we clipped a small light on the front so you can see our dog (he's brindle) at night. If you work more closely with the training guidelines, this may work better for you.

Resco Mahogany Cordo-Hyde Show Lead with Brass Fastner, 3/8-Inch Wide by 60-Inch Long

I have very little experience in showing dogs, but we now have a puppy who is supposedly champion material, and so the breeder wanted us to get a headstart in preparing him. It was suggested I get this Resco lead. It's easy to put on and take off (perhaps a little too easy) and the dog doesn't seem to mind it, and so we jog around the backyard with this lead as if he is the showring. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because when I wind it up after each use, it tends to stay wound up for a while, and it makes it a bit of an untangle job the next time. But the lead itself works fine.

Perfect for showing my Havanese. Would like to purchase oon with the "spinner" and a little shorter than this one.

I have 2 tiny dogs and I often have to clean the floor where their spot has spilled onto to the floor bc these are so thin. These stated that they were highly absorbent but my dogs only weigh 5 lbs and these dont work. There are companies who do sell thick pads where the spot does not spread, it's just hard to know who is telling the truth until you get them home. I would say pass on these.

Do you want cheap or good? These are the cheapest pads anywhere. If your dog is bigger than a hamster they are not going to be absorbent enough. They are probably fine for small puppies.

This pad I ordered is very poor thin quality same as what I ordered from a different seller for less then half the price! What a rip off and the delivery shipment was very late! Tuffy's Mega Gear Ring Dog Toy

I have two dogs that love to play with stuffed toys. The problem is they chew threw them very quickly and then I have stuffing every where. With this toy my dogs made a hole and were trying to get to the stuffing with in an hour. I pulled out all of the stuffing and after two months we still have the toy and my boys love playing with it. I had just hoped it would have kept the stuffing in it longer. Please keep in mind my dogs are excessive chewers when it comes to there toys and with out the stuffing this toy has help up.

The toy is tough but if you have an obsessive chewer with big sharp teeth(like I do) it's still going to break in 3 days. That's what it took my medium sized terrier to chew open one of the corners and start pulling out the stuffing.

I have an 8 month old Rottweiler puppy who destroys absolutely every toy we've gotten (and things that aren't toys like furniture, remote controls, kids toys, socks, shoes, etc). We've had this ring for a few months now and it's completely intact. She throws it around, we play tug of war, and it takes a beating-not a single stitch is gone. I had high hopes for this toy. We have had other toys from this brand, but this toy didn't withstand my dog. It took 5 minutes for him to tear the edge off the ring, and from there it is game over. Once he can access the inside of the toy, I might as well throw it out. He had been walked for two hours so he wasn't even releasing frustration. It was just regular playing. Oh well.

We bought this toy after reading reviews and talking with our local pet shop owner, hearing that this line of toys is supposedly the strongest stuffed toy on the market and is tested by real live tigers! (This particular one is a 10/10 on durability, according to the manufacturers ratings).

DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE HYPE.

Less than 2 days with the toy, our 40 lb. lab-mix had ripped through the outer edges in 3 places. By day 4, he had ripped through the interior fabric (supposedly made out of industrial strength/grad material) and had begun pulling out the stuffing. Less than one week after we purchased the toy, I had taken out all of the stuffing (thanks to the giant hole he created) and removed all the squeakers (almost all of themone casualty occurred when I wasn't watching). We had to stop him from swallowing large chunks of fabric multiple times before ultimately taking the toy away for good.

Our dog is about a year and a half old and while he loves chewing toys, he isn't as aggressive or destructive as other dogs I've seen. I can only imagine how quickly a larger dog would go through this and cannot justify spending $30 on something that lasts such a short time.

Our last training collar which was from dogtra and $250 was stolen, so it was a good time to search for much lighter one.

we didnt want the shock part, so we specifically looked for one with only vibration mode.

he used to just sit around when he wore dogtra one (which is a great product for training), but with this collar, he does not seem to mind running around. i guess dogtra one was hurting him when he ran.

we use the least sensitive setting and is good enough to stop him from barking aggressively towards big dogs. he barks once and turns around to come back. well, he hates big dogs, so he barks at them and sometimes even nips at their butt. He is only 12lb!

He had an extensive training by a trainer using dogtra before, so he knows what to do when his collar vibrates, but i would think even without a training it can startle your dog enough, so he/she stops barking.

he jumped into a huge puddle which was deeper than he thought... the collar got wet and it no longer works. it says water resistant, but not sure how much. being in the water for a few seconds killed it. so i am buying another one.

over all, it works and i recommend it.

By reading info on internet about this collar it seems that it is recommended for little dogs. However I think that they just probably say that because the collar is fairly small compare to other models. I decided to give it a try anyway on my 50lb dog. It actually worked like magic! The combination of the beep sound and vibration was enough to get her attention and made the barking stop.

I had this collar for a few days now and after testing it on my dog I have to say that IT IS EFFECTIVE.

I read all the reviews and most of the negative reviews were from people complaining that the collar is too sensitive, I had the same problem at first but it was easily corrected by simply following the instructions in the user manual, here is a copy and past of the manual:

ADJUSTING the bark detection sensitivity

Adjusting the bark detection sensitivity is a very important preliminary operation.

Adjusting it correctly ensures detection of the barking but helps avoid unnecessary

detection.

The detection, must therefore be sufficiently sensitive but not overly sensitive. In factory,

barking detection sensitivity is set on the maximum position (maximum sensitivity).

To adapt the detection sensitivity to the barking strength of your dog, you should proceed as

follows:

Remove the 2 screws from the battery cover with a screwdriver.

Remove the battery cover.

Carefully turn the setting screw according to the sensitivity you wish (See. Diagram 5)

Caution: the adjustment system has a stop for the minimum sensitivity and a stop

for the maximum

I could not wait for this collar to arrive. I thought it was going to be the answer to my little dogs barking. I have a 6lb papillon that is a very sensitive dog. I was sure the pulse collar would be enough to get his attention and stop the barking. I knew the collar was only going to vibrate like a cell phone and thought it would be perfect for him. I used this wire to fence of a two acre area for our dogs.

Main points if you don't want to read through the entire review.

1) Use this wire if you don't want to search for breaks and splice your fence repeatedly.

2) This wire has a thicker casing than the yellow wire that you get with a fence kit.

3) It seems to give a stronger signal than the yellow wire. (Not tested. I noticed it by observing my dogs' responses to the signal)

I used this wire to replace the underground fence that I installed three years ago. When I installed the old fence I used the red twisted wire and the yellow solid wire.

About half the fence runs through my yard the other half runs through the woods on my property and about a 100 feet trough my pond. The twisted wire made up about three quarters of the length of the old fence. For the rest of the old fence I used the yellow solid wire.

I buried the part that runs through my yard. I stapled the part that runs through the woods with landscape staplers. I sunk the part that runs through my pond with cement blocks. (I did the same with the new fence)

The twisted wire failed at five different places during the three years. I had to splice it and all the splices caused the signal to become too weak to trigger the receivers properly.

The yellow wire performed well in the old system.

I decide to replace the whole system.

I decided to use only solid wire for the fence. I received 500 feet solid yellow wire with the kit that I bought. My goal was to have as few splices as possible. I felt that the twisted wire is not worth the effort for my application. I bought two of these 1000 feet rolls of black wire to finish the fence. This wire is thicker than the yellow wire. I had to splice the fence at only two places. I used the water resistant splice kits for that.

The fence works very well and my dogs mind the fence again. It seems to me that the black wire gives out a stronger signal than the yellow wire. I have not tested this scientifically but by observing my dogs. It seems that they get closer to the fence on the yellow wire part than on the black wire part before they hear the warning beeps. For that reason I am going to replace the yellow wire part with black wire so that the entire fence is made up of this black wire.

Since I wrote the review I did replace the yellow wire with another role of this black wire. The fence now consists completely of this black wire and it is performing well. I am satisfied that I made the correct decision to use this wire for the entire fence.

When I searched for 14 gauge wire this popped up. I assumed it would be 14 gauge because of the search criteria, and since it was listed as heavy duty. Nope, just 20 gauge, but better shielding. Other than that it works fine.

The product works, however it is not as pictured. I bought it because it was black and in one roll. However when I got it, it was actually the same product found everywhere else, a yellow roll of 500 feet, except I got 2 rolls. I still gave it 4 stars becaue they worked when spliced together, the color wasn't that important to me, and because the price was still less than it would have cost to buy 2 rolls of the yellow 500 feet wire anywhere else I saw. If having 1 roll of 100 feet wire, or having the color black is important to you, this product is not for you.

I have a 1 year old yellow Lab and he would start crying a the break of daylight every morning about 5 am. He didnt want to go out he just wanted up. I used only the vibration on him from my bedroom and it only took 3 days before he learned to wait till 7 am. I have also used it to get his attention when he is misbehaving and it has made training so much easier. I have never used the shock part of the collar on him, only the vibration. Wish I would have gotten one a year ago.

This item works great. My dog is a new "man" and well behaved with the use of the collor. The only down side is the battery life in the collor unit. However, to reduce cost of use, I use rechargable batteries. The item arrived well pacaged and undamaged and was what was described it would be. Thank you for helping me with my ill mannered dog.

I bought this because it had the vibrations option since I didn't want to shock my dog. It worked while it worked. The dog would get surprised by the vibrations on her neck and that would give me a chance to get her attention but the whole thing is kind of flimsy and it eats batteries like crazy. I had to replace the batteries every 3 days and I wasn't even using it much. At times it would stop working so I had to take it apart to remove the batteries and after a couple of weeks I just gave up and let my dog do whatever she wanted to do.

Coastal Control Ease Training Dog Harness - Medium

Best harness for sensitive skin and controlling fear-based pulling.

I initially bought this harness at a local pet store and paid $38 for it. This harness is made out of very soft nylon with rolled edges and does not irritate. The product has an excellent design that allows for good control of the dog even when pulling or in stressful situations and several options including hooking both front and back hooks, using hands-free leash, etc . . .

My 44lb AmStaff is not a chewer, but is a scratcher, and was able to scratch a thread out. . . combined with pulling, the harness unraveled. I took the harness back to local store, and they exchanged it, said the thread must have been defective. I think it's just a side effect of the type of nylon used. .. appears to rip on sharp objects (like dog nails). Do not leave dog unattended in harness or they could scratch out threads.

After two weeks of use, the second harness, I used to restrain dog while grooming, and the dog pulled so hard, the plastic buckle shattered. This time I called the manufacturer (Coastal Pet Products) I sent the harness back to the manufacturer, and they promptly and politely exchanged it. . .but sent a note with the replacement that they believed it had been chewed. IT HAD NOT BEEN CHEWED. The buckle shattered when combination of my hand gripping with her extreme pulling was applied.

The third harness, I carefully inspected before using for defects. . .I used for three days, and loved it so much, then my best friend borrowed it for her flat coated retriever (45lbs). ..and never gave it back. She even bought a second one for her other dog. With careful vigilance of the dogs, both of those harnesses have lasted 5 months without incident.

So, In short, wonderful product in terms of design and usage but leaves something to be desired in quality and doesn't stand up to reasonable wear and tear (scratching and extreme pressure on buckle.)

I have also tried

Four Paws basic pet harness in medium(leaves awful red marks on white dog's skin and I believe encourages pulling by design but very durable.)And (recommended by dog behaviorist)Sensation harness in medium (doesn't provide same level of control in stressful situation, dog gets turned around and continues to pull, and leaves red marks on dog's skin as must be worn extremely tightly to work)

I have of course also tried the Easywalk (dog was able to pull one front leg out of it within minutes) and gentle leader (dog and I both hated it!)

This is clearly the best harness for both controlling a fearful dog and protecting sensitive skin. . .only wish it was made of more durable materials.

My dog is a medium sized (42 lb.) pit bull mix, so very strong for her size. She is not usually a bad puller, but does get excited sometimes. The front attachment on this harness is helpful when I am walking her and she sees something super interesting, like a small animal, another dog to play with, or a person to make friends with. I do not use the lead that comes with it, I use her Lupine lead. I should note, For much of the time I used this harness, I was recovering from very severe golfer's elbow in both arms, and did not have much arm strength. The harness did help me maintain control of my dog reliably.

If you are looking for a miracle control tool for a large, powerful dog that drags you around, I don't think you are going to find one. You have to have patience, and train them that you are the boss. Classes will help. Choke chains, prong collars, head collars, front-attach harnesses, and any other special harnesses and collars may help a little, but ultimately you just need to take the time to teach the dog to respect you as alpha.

This wobbler is a great interactive toy! I would definitely recommend it for supervised play though, as it is not designed as a chew toy & therefore isn't as durable as other toys designed for that purpose.

Premier Busy Buddy Tug-a-Jug Treat Dispensing Dog Toy

This toy takes more effort to get food out than the Buster Cube, which I like because it occupies the dog longer. I find that the cube, even on its "hardest" setting only takes a few minutes to get out most of the food, and then the rest doesn't come out no matter how long the dogs work it. With the bottle the dogs can get nearly all the food out if they keep at it.

At first you should fill the bottle so that it is over half full. This way food can come out more easily when it is on its side. This will encourage the dog to play with it. Once the food level goes down food will only come out as they toss and pull the bottle. It took my dog a few days to get to this, but now she seems to have mastered it. She stands the bottle up and knocks it over, putting food into the neck, then she works the rope a bit and manages to get a piece of kibble out. When I first got the toy I thought she would never be able to figure it out, but she has. Even so, it takes a fair amount of work to get out just a few pieces of food, so it can keep them occupied all day.

Our 16 month old yellow lab loves to play with empty 2 liter pop bottles. I bought him this toy because I worried he would cut his mouth and gums on the sharp plastic shards of those flimsy bottles. No worry about that with the Tug-a-Jug...this toy will most likely survive through the next millennium!

To fill with treats, just twist off the bottom; couldn't be easier. It's a lot of fun watching our dog figure out how to get at the goodies inside.

I honestly don't think the rope pull is going to last very long; especially if you are buying this for an aggressive chewer. However, don't let that stop you from buying the tug-a-jug. Even without the rope, it's still a great and challenging toy.

However, this has not worked very well for us as a treat dispenser. I consider Tucker to be quite a clever puppy, but after fiddling with the tug-a-jug for a couple days, he just began bringing the thing to me and dropping it at my feet for me to dispense the treats for him. (I suppose that may be evidence of just how clever he is!)

I have a medium size dog 38 pounds. He enjoys to chew on things but I have never thought of him as a heavy chewer. The night I received this he was so excited about it. It was so tempting to see, hear and smell the treats. Well, within 20 minutes the toy was in the garbage. He chewed off the rubber toy that blocks the treats from coming out. He then started to chew where the smell of the treats is able to escape. The plastic fell apart so easily! He then started to break off little pieces. I woudl not recommend this for a medium or large sized dog!

I was very disappointed with the tug-a-jug. It came in the mail today. The dog had it for 5 minutes and she had the rubber rope chewed in half in that short amount of time. A waste of money for me. I have yet to find something that this black lab doesn't destroy in record time.

Spotty Training Clicker

I thought this would be a decent clicker because of the price. But its not. Its not very accurate and doesnt always click the best. I dont maybe because im new to it, but i think you can get a better clicker for 2 bucks instead of this one..

I ordered this to start training my dog and then move on to shelter dogs. It is not nearly as loud as every other clicker I've seen and does not feel nearly as sturdy. I would not buy this product again.

I bought this to work with my puppy. It is not loud enough to gain a non-interested puppies attention. The older dog, who is already trained with a different clicker (read lost and misplaced) will respond. However, because of the low volume there is a diminished intensity.

I live in Chicago and have two cavalier king charles spaniels that are 3 years old. I purchased the Mini DogPacer about two weeks ago and we've been using it everyday. It's incredibly easy to use. The reason I bought the treadmill for my dogs is to exercise them for weight loss, and also as an energy release. The size of the Mini DogPacer is perfect for my dogs and for my condo. I introduced the dogs to the Mini DogPacer by luring them with a treat and letting them power walk on it for about 3 minutes. The dogs took to the Mini DogPacer IMMEDIATELY. After about two days I increased their walk to 5 minutes, and then 7 minutes. The dogs are curently doing an interval workout that lasts from 7 to 10 minutes in the mornings and evenings. I'm always standing in front of the treadmill, praising and encouring, "Good girl, you could do it!!". This week, I've started to teach them to jog by gradually increased the speed. Once they are used to jogging, I'll start to introduce the incline feature of the treadmill. In Chicago, it's challenging to give them a long walk outside when it's raining and when there's a lot of snow and ice. Absolutely the best money I've spent and it has been worth the investment.

I live in Arizona...it hits 115 during the summer, never cooling below 100 at night. Walking my dogs is not possible for at least 3 months out of the year. This little treadmill is perfect! My dogs can get exercise all year round now. It is the right size for my cavaliers; it has a small footprint; and basically does everything I want, at a very affordable price. LOVE IT.

Overall a very good product the vibrating mode gets the dog's attention without any discomfort whatsoever. The static read shockis variable from totally undetectible ( by dog or human ) to attention getting level. It could be abused but at least there is a 12 second max at any setting. My one wish is that the sustained mode ( more than a fraction of a second ) first starts with the fraction of a secon stimulus followed by about a 1 sec break followed by a longer stimulus up to the 12second max. It would be perfect for avoidance training if there was no gap in the stimulation. With this method you set the device at the lowest detectable vibration holding same until dog STARTS to do what you have previously taught him to do on that specific command. The gap seemed to distract the dog making the training somewhat more difficult. Consistency is the goal and the gap in stimulation defies consistency and wth my dog ( a 9.5 yr old rescue from Toms River NJ (Just before Sandy) at least finds it a bit of a distraction)

This trainer started off with problems, but the supplier support was very good. The transmitter battery would not charge, so they sent a new transmitter. The new transmitter was not compatible with the collar, so I simply took out the battery and replaced with my original transmitter which now works. I have a mix border collie/ black lab, very challenging. I live on 10 acres and walk on an additional 40 acres. Before the collar, my dog would completely ignore me to come and run uncontrollably. After the collar with only the buzz, he stopped and looked back at me and immediately came. So it works good. Sometimes the collar turns itself off, and I am not sure it is the result of the dog running so I check it frequently but overall it works. I also bought longer probes for the collar as the dog's fur is quite heavy. Keep in mind we already have a invisible fence so the dog was used to something happening on his collar. In addition this collar helps me walk the dog off leash which the dog enjoys more, but is mindful of the vibration to stay close when we walk on street.

This is the second product from this vendor. The shocker portion of the collar stopped working after a few months but the vibration portion continues. Same comments for the previous product.
