Bark Control Collar

Bark Control CollarWas excited to get this for my son's barking boxer. The only huge problem with this device is the battery dies very quickly.

I turned the device off each and every time the boxer was inside, which was most of the time.

My father has a boder collie that is stubborn. She is very intelligent, and barks agressively when she does not get her way. The petsafe collar (with new batteries) does not even compare to how effective this is. This collar definately outsmarted her.

She lets out a yelp.... then is quiet.

Because of the pain that this inflicts, we obviously do not leave it on her all of the time. Just when she is in the car (on a cool summer day), or when she is too agressive (vocally)in the house (even after hours of "working" or playing frisbee in their 3 acre yard).

I really reccomend this brand and collar.

Just for shiggles, i wore this collar and barked. It was bearable. I think the dog yelps because it is a little bitch (28 pound female).

Baskerville 6-1/2-Inch Rubber Ultra Muzzle, Size-3, Black

Baskerville 6-1/2-Inch Rubber Ultra Muzzle, Size-3, BlackThis muzzle is so well made with high quality material. Something you are not used to getting in today's world. This muzzle allows your dog to pant, take treats, and drink while wearing it. While I can totally trust my dog not to bite me, I can also totally trust that she will bite a stranger. We got the muzzle only a few days ago and with the step by step directions she is wagging her tail when I get it out. She has worn it for the first time tonight all while I had about twenty pieces of bologna to give her while she was wearing it. She did not associate it at all with the nylon one she hates at the vets office. I just went over to pick it up and move it and she came right over wagging her tail and sat down. I am very excited about working with her and perhaps, one day, overcoming this fear aggression.

After 3 1/2 years of getting along beautifully, my two girls, a Siberian Husky and a GSD/Boxer mix, decided it was time to renegotiate the role of Alpha dog. They had never fought before and when they went at each other with no warning (well, I'm sure there were signs that I, as a stupid human missed) I was absolutely terrified. There is no doubt in my mind that they were prepared to fight to the death. Both dogs had to be sewn up and my hand ended up in someone's mouth when I tried to separate them and was pretty severely injured. I was in tears for two days, wondering how I was going to make it work long-term with three dogs, two of whom could have absolutely no contact with each other. They were still total lovebugs and as sweet as ever with me and with my other dog. But they wanted to kill each other. After doing some research and contacting a behaviorist, the idea of muzzles came up. I hadn't thought of muzzles, since I guess I had bought into the idea that they were for "bad" dogs. That's not the case. Muzzles can be an incredible tool. They provide a safe, fail-proof environment and allow us to work on the real issues. They let us be a happy family again.

I bought the Baskerville muzzles, as they seemed like the best choice for active dogs since the dogs can pant, drink, take treats and the ventilation is excellent. It honestly only took about 10 minutes each to get the girls comfortable with letting me put them on. As recommended, I held the muzzle cupped in my hand with plenty of choice treats at the bottom. Each dog put their face in on their own to retrieve the treats. Once the muzzle was seen as a treat dispenser, it was no problem to get it buckled around the dog's head. It is a bit of a pain to find the holes in the strap, but when I found the best fit for each dog, I marked that hole with a dab of paint so I could locate it quickly. I used the over the head straps at first, but they were always flopping in the dogs' eyes. I took them off and neither dog has ever pulled their muzzle off. Truthfully, they're so used to them that they don't try to pull them off.

These muzzles have just become a part of life and neither of my girls has any problem wearing one. When they see the muzzles, they sit nicely and are more than happy to put their face in as I hold the muzzle out. They seem to know it means family time. When wearing their muzzles, they get along great and play together without any aggression. They're very active, athletic dogs and wearing these particular muzzles has allowed them to remain so. Neither their vision nor their breathing is hindered in the least. They both realized right away that they could drink with no difficulty. They even snuggle together for naps, just like they used to. I think it puts them on equal footing, and since they know they can't fight, they don't even bother. I know it's the muzzles that make the difference because when they're not wearing them, hackles are raised and they still snarl at each other through a gate.

I don't ever leave the dogs unattended with the muzzles on. I have this great fear of someone getting caught on something or somehow getting them off and fighting. During those times, they're in separate rooms. I also take the muzzles off and put up a baby gate every few hours and at meal times, just to give them a break. However, given the choice, my 3 dogs want to be together, so they do wear their muzzles for many hours at a time.

The one problem we had was with rubbing on the tops of the dogs' snouts. Like I said, my dogs do wear these a lot, but the rubbing was enough to cause discomfort and rub fur off. I added some neoprene padding and that took care of the issue, but I'd like to see more padding in the design.

I'm so happy that someone recommended muzzles and this brand specifically. I was so afraid of the logistics of keeping my dogs separated while still providing plenty of love and attention and exercise to each of them. I was scared of what would happen if I made a mistake and forgot to close a door. How would we go hiking? How would we take road trips? With the Baskerville Ultra Muzzles, I can have my loves together and we can do all of the things we've always done. These have simply become part of our daily routine and everyone is safe and happy and loved. I hope we can work through the aggression to the point that we won't need the muzzles. But, if not I know we'll be okay and I can't explain how much that means.

Buy Baskerville 6-1/2-Inch Rubber Ultra Muzzle, Size-3, Black Now

I got this for a rescue dog that chewed EVERYTHING! After a few times of being in the muzzle for 15 minutes after chewing on something he shouldn't he started doing it less and less. After long periods of not misbehaving, he gets put in it every now and again. It is so comfortable he doesn't even mind wearing it. He waits for me to put it on him and just lays down and goes to sleep!

The muzzle fits beautifully, I love the way it's made, top quality shows in the details. The top band, that you can take off is really good when they start rubbing up on furniture or trees trying to get it off when you first put it on them.

The basket is VERY heavy duty yet lightweight and doesn't cause irritation. I love how his regular dog collar fits the lower strap and keeps the muzzle secure. This is a very humane and comfortable way to adjust attitudes and behaviors!

If you can get the size right and use it for brief periods, maybe it will be 5 stars for you. I gave it 2 stars for sturdiness, but took one off for sizing difficulty, one star off for the difficulty getting the hook on the top strap, and one star for all the rough edges. There's a low probability the dog can get this off if you put it on right. Perhaps it should be five stars for successfully halting the biting and for staying in place, but ease of use and comfort for the dog are important to me as well.

Sizing is a problem; I couldn't find a good chart on Amazon.com, but may have found a table that uses snout circumference and length on another web site. My dog weighs 35 pounds, yeah he's overweight, so the recommended size is a 3, but it's a 2 for the breed (Cocker) and a 3 based upon the measurements on the other site's table. I bought a 3 and the circumference seemed right. The dog could eat, drink and pant but couldn't bite. It was about a half inch too long though and the upper bar was almost in the dog's eyes. If you have to compromise, base the size you select on snout length, don't buy a size that's too long. It's possible no size fits a particular dog. I've posted a picture of my dog's nose where the muzzle rubbed the top of his nose raw.

While the muzzle is sturdy, there are small ribs around the inside edges and the nylon straps have rough edges that rubbed and collected tufts of the dog's hair. On the other hand, my dog hated the thing and constantly tried to get it off.

The dog has never cared for a muzzle and it was a struggle to get it on. The groomer and vet have had to use a muzzle the last few years. The hook on top is designed to penetrate nearly hidden holes cut into the top strap; they're impossible to see and difficult to align with a struggling dog. If you buy this, you'll want to study the instructions closely, it isn't entirely intuitive how this is muzzle goes on.

Haven't tried, but I'd guess you could throw this thing in the washing machine (no bleach) to clean.

Want Baskerville 6-1/2-Inch Rubber Ultra Muzzle, Size-3, Black Discount?

This is a good muzzle, but I had to return the size 3 and get the size 4 instead for my 40-pound pit/greyhound.

So I recommend the product, but consider basing your sizing on actual measurements (which some of the Baskerville descriptions include) rather than weight of your dog.

Nature's Miracle No Tracking Aborbent Pads, 50 Count

Nature's Miracle No Tracking Aborbent Pads, 50 CountI have an older dog with incontinence issues at night, she sleeps on them and they hold the liquid. They smell nice and are easy for clean-up. I have tried so many of the other pads, and they leak or cause bigger messes then absorb. They are slightly more then the others, but purchasing online saves you so much that I would buy online.

I have been trying to find the right pads for my dog to absorb the smell and urine. These are by far the best pads that I have ever purchased. They have discontinued them in some of the PetSmart stores in my hometown. I'm glad to know that I can buy them online.

PetSafe ScatMat Sofa 60" x 12" Mail Order

PetSafe ScatMat Sofa 60' x 12' Mail OrderThis product has helped train my two counter-surfing dogs to keep their paws out of the kitchen. I made the decision to get it after I came home and the gas stove was on. They must have accidentally turned it on while scrabbling around.

I was worried about using a shock deterrent, but drastic measures needed to be taken. The shock from the 9V battery is not awful (I've stepped on it many times), but it's enough to let them know they are going somewhere they shouldn't.

The dimensions of this scat mat were not listed by the seller and I think that would be useful. I was surprised by how long and skinny it was because the picture made it seem wider.

Overall this was a great purchase. It's for those of us who have full-time jobs and need help with training. I'm happy to work with them when I'm home, but need to keep reinforcing it when I'm out.

Indoor Plastic Dog Potty Pet Training Toilet 24"x17"x3"

Indoor Plastic Dog Potty Pet Training Toilet 24'x17'x3'My dog is trained to go inside and out. She mostly likes to go outside but will go inside when it rains, snow, or cannot hold it in. I purchased this one to replace a similar training toilet. My dog refuses to use this one. She has peed on the floor next to it 4 times in a row. I had no choice but to put the old one back. Now she is peeing on the toilet again but I am out $45. ARGGG. I was not crazy about the design of the training toilet but was satisfied. Unfortunately however I can't use it. So beware if you are looking to replace yours your dog may not be happy. I know mine wasn't :(

Lupine 1-Inch 2-Feet Traffic Lead, Purple

Lupine 1-Inch 2-Feet Traffic Lead, PurpleI have two Gordon Setter pups and walking with longer leads was unplesant to say the least. With the shorter leads they are much better behaved and there's hope of training them properly. These leads are well constructed and sturdy. The mechanism is much easier to use than my other leads important with two excited and squirmy pups!

I got this leash in three colors (purple, bright orange, bright pink). They are all nice colors; however, the purple is my favorite. It is a nice length to use for small dogs. Great training leash for dogs not to pull when walking.

It's perfect size that seem does not sell in the regular pet shops which I had been search for quite sometime and the color purple is one of my favorite. Excellent size for my medium dog. Also that give me the opportunity to work with my dog better as she is learning my command more comfortable as possible. My dog is half Parson Russell Terrier and half Chihuahua which make her more medium size than small.

Sporn Nylon Non Pulling Dog Harness, Medium, Black

Sporn Nylon Non Pulling Dog Harness, Medium, BlackI have bought a lot of stuff online, and I have written a lot of reviews. This is by FAR the best thing I ever bought. Our Jack Russel Terrier is a 20 lb ball of muscle, and pulls so hard his tongue turns blue. Someone told me about this type of collar so I thought I'd give it a try.

Well I tried it today for the first time and it worked like a charm! He didn't pull at ALL, and the collar did not seem to bother him at all! His walk is about one mile and for the first time ever, the whole mile was a pleasure. It's as if he never pulled before. Even as I write this I am still blown away at how well it worked. In the past, all the training we used to try only worked temporarily. As soon as he got a whiff of something interesting all the training went out the window. Well all that is history now and I am looking forward to many more pull-free walks.

For sizing, we got the medium and we had to adjust it down quite a bit but then it fit perfectly. I think the small would've been a little tight. Our Jack Russell is a stocky little muscle-man!

In case I haven't been clear, I will summarize by saying I LOVE this thing!!!!!

4/7/11 Additional Details: I've been meaning to edit this for a couple of weeks. I think in the beginning our dog didn't pull probably because he felt the padded straps around his body and it felt foreign to him. That's the only explanation I can think of. He's back to pulling again, BUT...he's still WAY easier to handle with this collar. And he doesn't choke himself. He looks like he's pulling pretty hard, but it doesn't feel like he's pulling that hard. I think it boils down to the balance the collar provides. For example, if you can imagine trying to lift and move a heavy object let's say a really big flat rock; If you try to hold on to it by just a little corner on one end it'll be very difficult. Now let's say there was a convenient handle right in the middle of the rock. You'd be able to lift and maneuver it much easier. Same principal with the collar. So although he's back to pulling again, it really does him no good at all. He's still so much easier to handle. I still love the collar and I'll keep the five stars!

I bought the Sporn mesh harness for my mixed shepherd puppy. She wasn't too bad walking on a regular leash/collar, but there were times (like walking home from the park!) where she would pull hard. I swore she was going to hurt herself, and with a regular leash/collar it's impossible to give corrections. So I decided to invest in a harness which would allow me to correct her those times when she pulled. I chose the Sporn mesh harness because it looked more comfortable than a standard all nylon strap harness. I just returned from a walk to the park with her and all I can say is that she walked like a new dog! Not exactly sure how it works to stop the pulling, but it's like magic! She never really pulled at all. A few times I thought she was going to pull, but she'd just stop, wait a second or two and then start again. Coming home she walked beside me the whole way. I would strongly recommend this harness.

Buy Sporn Nylon Non Pulling Dog Harness, Medium, Black Now

This thing is a lifesaver. I was actually able to take my dog on a long relaxing walk the first day I tried the harness. My arm actually stayed right by my side the whole time rahter than him tugging my arm out of its socket like he likes to do. Every time he would try to zip ahead and start pulling the harness would make him pause and look at me, he'd wait for me to catch up and then he'd just walk at a normal pace. No more tugging like a maniac, claws digging into the ground and gagging from him chocking himself on his collar. And this product doesnt even cost that much!

Read Best Reviews of Sporn Nylon Non Pulling Dog Harness, Medium, Black Here

I have a 40 lb. 3 year old male husky. He can pull 150 lbs. with no problem. The harness does not stop the pulling completely, working approximately as well as a prong collar.

The harness has an adjustable draw string which allows the harness to fit to each dog. The harness is strong and allows better movement corrections compared to any collar.

The harness is far from perfectly designed. First off, it does not prevent pulling. Second, the straps going over the dog's shoulder's are not adjustable, causing the mesh piece to be much lower on the dog's chest than it should be. This causes the mesh ends to cramp on the dog's armpits which may cause damage on thin furred dogs. The cushions are slidable pieces on the straps running from the dog's chest its back. The pieces gradually move up the line towards the back, which exposes the dog's armpits to the raw strap underneath. The cushion pieces also catch fur, so shedding dog owners beware as they do not release and are very difficult to clean.

Want Sporn Nylon Non Pulling Dog Harness, Medium, Black Discount?

We have a rescued Sheltie who is very skitish. I bought this harness because she pulls very hard when we go for walks. The harness stopped her pulling almost instantly. It was magic. The harness also is very easy to put on her. Unfortunately, she was spooked by a sound, she backed up and pulled herself right out of the harness. Luckily I was able to capture her but it was very tense. I put the harness on her in a fenced yard. If I pull her forward or she backs up, the harness once again pulls right off of her. The harness was adjusted tightly on her. The problem is that the leash connects on top of the dog. Therefore, it doesn't take much of a pull to pull it right off her. I've since bought a harness that connects in the front. She can't pull out of that type of design.

Goughnut Black Ball Rubber Dog Chew Toy

Goughnut Black Ball Rubber Dog Chew ToyWe have an 85 pound lab/shepherd/pit mix who can decimate a piece of firewood in under 20 minutes, reducing it to splinters (an honest 21" diameter piece of white oak firewood). We've bought "invincible chains", which lasted 5 minutes. We've bought "tire tough" toys, which lasted 10 minutes. The Kong Black toys lasted a few weeks. She currently has the Goughnuts Stick, Ball, and Doughnut in the black rubber strength, which is the strongest they make.

One of the things that makes our dog so effective at destroying items isn't her pure bite strength, but rather her intelligence. She identifies weak points in toys and persists until she's wrecked them. With the Goughnuts brand toys, there are no weak points. They do exactly what they say they do, they cost what they cost (which, for a truly unique, researched, and engineered product is not much), and I don't have to watch our dog very carefully while she has her chew toys. This is particularly important since we let her have one in her crate at night ... otherwise, she'll destroy her bedding

Besides, we probably spent $200 on "chew toys" that lasted her 5-30 minutes before being destroyed. This one costs $28, is safe for your pet, and they'll unconditionally replace it if your dog manages to breach the safety margin ... forever. How is that not a great value?

The ball and stick toys from them that we own are labeled "interactive play item, not intended as a pure chew toy". If they get destroyed, I'm not taking them up on their guarantee, because I'm letting our dog use them as a chew toy. I'll take away the damaged one, and buy her another. She's been working on them for almost a year now, and I haven't had to live up to that intent yet. They all look nearly brand new.

I have a pitbull and they are knowing as being super chewers. I did not think I could ever find a toy that MoMo could not kill in a matter of minutes. The pet store recommend a chew toy made of fire hose nope 5 minutes and that was destroyed. Next they recommended this tire with a rope well I knew the rope had no chance but a tire ok worth a shot. Well the tire set a record at 30 minutes before MoMo bit a huge monster chunk out of it. Now for the goughnut. We have a winner. MoMo can bareley leave a tooth mark and will chew and chew until he has fallen a sleep with it in his mouth or all slobbered to death next to him. If your dog has chewed thru everything you have tried then you need to go all out and get a goughnut plus if they do kill it then its only $4.95 shipping to replace it.

Buy Goughnut Black Ball Rubber Dog Chew Toy Now

I am a professional dog trainer and own EIGHT German line German Shepherds. These dogs are T O U G H on toys! POWER Chewers! They should be the test market for any new product that the manufacturer thinks is tough! Until Goughnuts, I spent a fortune on black Kong toys, and anything else that claimed they were indestructible, and never expected them to last more than a few months. The Goughnuts last for years!

The balls are exceptional. They bounce like crazy. They float in the pool!

The toys are outside all year around and we live in Idaho with the toughest winters you can imagine. These toys weather like no other.

The balls and rings are the toughest. The sticks are wonderful too, but my dogs have chewed the ends off after a LONG time. You don't have to have the receipt to return them. Just go to the Goughnut website and follow the instructions. They will replace them, no questions asked and promptly! Even repeat offenders!

I endorse them to my dog training clients!

My dog (60lb Lab) is a "power chewer", he's destroyed 2 black Kongs already. I use them for reward only, so it's not like he gets to just chew on them all day either. This is the ONLY product he hasn't destroyed. The lifetime warranty means I don't have to worry about if he ever does. The only way to improve this product would be if it was a slightly different shape so it wouldn't roll away when he drops it.

I have Labs and an English Bull Dog, all of whom are MAJOR chewers. These are the only toys that have, so far, proved indestructible. One of my Labs has three titanium crowns on his canine teeth and is absolutely prohibited from hard toys such as Nylabones, so the Goughnuts are soft enough for his teeth, but hold up like nothing else.

SmartBones Chicken Dog Chew, Mini, 24-Pack

SmartBones Chicken Dog Chew, Mini, 24-PackThis product is made in China. It is distributed in the USA, but it is made in China. It took a lot of digging and calling to discover that because they do not want you to know that. It is a good product, but the risk associated with giving your dog chicken from China after two recalls in the last two years is not worth it. In the future, if a product does not say, "MADE IN THE USA" on the packaging, there is probably a reason.

Our dog Callie loves these bones and she's VERY picky about flavours(only chicken). It's nice to give her something to "chew" on for awhile. They last a long time and are not smelly or greasy. The price is reasonable and come in quantity options.

My dog absolutely loves these bones. I love the fact they do not contain rawhide. They contain chicken, sweet potatoes, carrots and peas. They take quite a while for him to finish, are not messy and are digestible without me having to worry about sharp edges hurting him internally. I will definitely buy these again and will probably try other flavors.

However, when I placed my last order for them, Amazon never notified me that they were sold out. I waited for days for my order that was supposed to be shipped in two days and when I logged on to find out what was happening, I found out it was never shipped with no explanation. When I finally was able to get through on the live chat, I was notified that they were out of stock, but was never sent an email. This is the last time I will place an order with these shipping directly from Amazon since they have such poor customer service.

Canine Caviar 12-Inch Buffalo Jerky Pet Food, Braided, 30 CountI was a bit concerned as the jerky had an odd odor not present in canine caviar products I had bought before, but they looked fine and my dog enjoyed them, so maybe it was just because they had been packed in an airtight package for shipping. SmartBones Dental Dog Treat

SmartBones Dental Dog Chew, Mini, 24-PackI purchased this product as an alternative to a rawhide. Our 5 month old German Shorthair Pointer puppy ate it in a matter of 6 minutes or less. She loved it, but it was more of an expensive treat.

With a puppy, I needed something to satisfy her chewing urge. The treat fractured into small bits all over the floor but our dog was willing to pick those up. The pieces looked rather sharp and that was a concern. Others mentioned it was made in China and I would like to add the first ingredient is corn. It might last longer for very small dogs.

My minischnauzer loves them and I love the fact they are not made from rawhide. Thanks for a great product.

Dean and Tyler DT Dog Harness, Black With Reflective Trim, Large - Fits Girth Size: 32-Inch to 42-In

Dean and Tyler DT Dog Harness, Black With Reflective Trim, Large - Fits Girth Size: 32-Inch to 42-InchWe have a large, beautiful black and tan GSD. He is warm, loyal, loves all kids, protective (of course) and very very strong. We are training him in a different way.

He gets excited when he goes out walking or playing in the park. We really needed something that would HOLD him back when necessary, gently train but not CHOKE. This fits the bill. He didn't understand it at first but immediately he got it. It is easy to make comfortable and it seems to fit as well as some of the $100 or more harnesses. This will likely last a few years, maybe not a decade but it is of pretty good quality. It makes our family outings with one of our pets more enjoyable and even helped him tone down his excitement WHEN THE HARNESS IS NOT ON. I was worried it would be too small but any regular large dog (Danes, Rots, Mastiffs, GSD's, Labs, etc) should be okay. Not sure a Tibetan Mastiff or St. Bernard or BARKLEY (from Sesame Street) would fit, though....good luck.

i was looking for a harness for my 9 month old english bulldog.. nothing seemed to fit right, everything would cut into his "armpits" and be uncomfortable for him. so i tried this. so glad i spent the money, what a well made product that finally fits right. my pup is very happy. he is about 65lbs so i ordered the large, it is a tiny bit big now, but i wanted room for growth consdering he is just a baby. thanks for such a wonderful harness!
