This product has helped train my two counter-surfing dogs to keep their paws out of the kitchen. I made the decision to get it after I came home and the gas stove was on. They must have accidentally turned it on while scrabbling around.I was worried about using a shock deterrent, but drastic measures needed to be taken. The shock from the 9V battery is not awful (I've stepped on it many times), but it's enough to let them know they are going somewhere they shouldn't.
The dimensions of this scat mat were not listed by the seller and I think that would be useful. I was surprised by how long and skinny it was because the picture made it seem wider.
Overall this was a great purchase. It's for those of us who have full-time jobs and need help with training. I'm happy to work with them when I'm home, but need to keep reinforcing it when I'm out.
