Metal High Pitch Dog Whistle Keychain

This High Pitch Dog Whistle is *****LOUD and somewhat of a ****high pitch. I love love love the convenience of the key chain. My dogs have learned to recognized it and they come running when I blow the whistle.

Unfortunately as good as it is I can't use it too early in the morning or too late for every1 in the neighborhood can hear it as well as the dogs. So if you are looking for 1 of those silent dog whistles this is not it!

My dogs are not the only ones that have learned to recognized it. My goats know it and so do all the rest of the animals that live with us (rooster, chickens, guinea pig, etc. etc. etc).

It is very light weight, great size, and easy to use. I would probably buy it again if I needed to, of course unless I found the silent dog whistle, which I thought this was. Lol! Hope this helps

It is high pitched, but nothing close to "dog whistle" pitch. No instructions, but I am unable to notice a change in pitch when "adjusting" it. The adjustment merely seems to separate it into two pieces.

Mendota Products EZ Trainer/Leash

I couldn't live without this leash. I have a 60-lb dog who is uncontrollable otherwise. It really works, much much better than a gentle leader, etc. My dog is the kind that flops around on the end of her leash like a fish when she wants to get at another animal. This leash stops that behavior in its tracks. Only problem with this thing is the ring that the leash is threaded through tends to slip after a while, so you have to stop periodically and readjust it. I've heard some people complain about the lack of a loop on the end. Nonsense. You should never ever wrap a leash loop around your wrist anyway if you don't want to get dragged and have your wrist dislocated by an out-of-control dog. And it's just not a powerful way to hold a leash. A trainer taught me how to do it right. The leash should be looped around your thumb and the two resulting lengths clenched to your palm by your fingers. No dog can pull the leash out of your hand with this tough grip, but you can let go in a heartbeat if things get way out of control.

This leash makes walking my rambunctious dog easier. I had to figure it out, but once I did, it was easy.

Not bad for a beginner although it doesn't stay together well -but it serves the purpose and was cheaper than most bar jumps

Good for my Aussie Cattle Dog, she loves to jump it. I did forget and leave it out in the winter. A heavy snow was enough to break one of the connectors. Unfortunately the size doesn't match hardware store plastic pipe fittings. I had to tape it.

Plastic is a little flimsy. One of my connectors broke when I was putting it together, although to be fair I was probably pressing too hard. The break was minor and did not affect function.

Vertical poles spread towards the top so the bar doesn't have much to rest on at the higher levels?

One more note, my item arrived missing one of its jump cups. I DID NOT attempt to contact customer service, so to give them the benefit of the doubt I will presume that if I had, a human being who spoke perfect English would have answered on the first ring, apologized profusely for the error, and had a courier hand-deliver a replacement the same day. If only I had given them the chance to show off their remarkable customer service! Instead of replacing the jump cup, I purchased a pair of jump cup strips that screw into the plastic uprights and let you change the height just by moving the bar. I have been very happy with this arrangement so far, and am satisfied with my purchase.

SportDOG Bark Control - 18 levels

We have two very bark-y dachshunds that have caused neighbors to leave us anonymous notes of complaint about them barking constantly while we were away from home, so we have no choice but to use bark control collars on them while we are at work (it was either that or have their vocal cords cut, which I consider more inhumane than a bark collar). I like the bark control part of this collar very much, as it has 18 levels of correction. There are 3 different settings you can choose for your dog, each with 6 correction levels. Whichever setting you use, it will gradually increase the "correction" level until the dog stops barking, then will reset back down to the lowest correction level for that setting for when they begin barking again. It is extremely effective, and if they bark at all, they only get one or two barks out and then stop. Before purchasing this collar, we used another brand that only reset down 1 level below the last "correction" they received, which didn't seem fair in my opinion. Incidentally, our male doxie has to be on the middle setting (he's quite stubborn) but the female does well on the first (lowest) setting. We've never had to go to level 3, which I imagine would be reserved for large, stubborn dogs.

Another great feature of the bark control equipment on this collar is that it has an "off" setting, which is great for when you pack them for travel or store them away for an extended time. We've had the bark control equipment that comes with this collar for just over 7 months now and the batteries are still holding strong.

The only reason I don't give this particular product a 5 star rating is because the collar itself is awful. After we purchased these, we ended up replacing the collars immediately with nylon collars. The plastic is hard and not very flexible, and it was too big for our dachshunds (which are supposed to be miniatures, but are more "maxi-minis" since they weigh in at about 15 lbs each). Consider instead the PetSafe PDBC-300 Deluxe Bark Control Collar. It's the same bark control equipment as this item, but with a nylon collar.

I have a SportDog SBC10 that works well. I bought this product(SBC-18)and it is crap. The intensity/test switch will not stay at one setting, the dogs can change the setting during play. Most of the time I put the collar on at night and by morning the switch is on test and my dog is happily barking away.Don't buy this product.

These collars do work work but are hard on the batteries, I've had to replace them a couple of times in two months. The only part vulnerable is the microphone. If you have more than one dog (I have three) the others can (and did)damage the microphone.

Had the 10R model for a couple years for our larger dog, but it was way too big and heavy for our 11 lb. terrier. This model is much lighter and works well. The first unit has a sensor issue but was replaced with an extra collar by the factory. They have excellent customer service.

I bought this item just a couple days ago at Cabelas. The first unit I purchased was defective as the light stayed on in test mode and did not flash. I promptly returned it and now have a properly working model. The batteries last 3-6mo depend upon use and new batteries can be purchased at a local pet store for $10 for a pair of them. I recommended testing all three levels to find the one that works. For my dog the lowest mode did nothing, I could tell the middle power would curb the length of each individual bark. However on the highest mode it had an immediate affect on him, even when I would take him outside without this collar on he would look hesitantly at me prior to attempting to bark. My dog is a 9mo old puppy and I would strongly encourage any pet owner to use this on your dog as a puppy when he is young and eager to learn. I am hoping only to have to use this on him for a couple of months. If your dog is older and constantly barks with this on then there may be other behavior factors to consider and you may want to look into other means to correct its barking. Ultimately, I'm very happy with this device and would consider it an important part of puppy training.

I am a dog trainer and this is a great alternative for those dogs that need a mild "redirect" that a prong collar cannot give but are too sensitive for an actual shock collar. It has 6 settings for a nice gradual point to work with the dog.

This pet trainer was purchased for my mom's dog. We expected this to be a more humane way to train the dog than a shock collar. However the device we purchased was not effective at all. The dog didn't even notice the vibration from the unit and it did nothing to stop him when we tried to get his attention. I would like to also note that the battery on the unit was poor and barely lasted more than a half hour while in standby.

This collar just doesn't do what it claims to do. I have years of positive dog training and bought this to get my senior "hard of hearing" dog's attention when out on walks. I tried the collar in the house, and put my years of training to work. Sadly it just doesn't do as it claims. Following manufacturer's recommended use and instructions, this product does not vibrate enough for my dog to even notice it, and that is when the collar is set to the highest setting of 13. So I tried it on my thigh and even at the highest setting (13) it was hardly noticeable for me. My old cell phone has a stronger vibration.

The only reason I didn't rate this product with 5 stars is the fact that the hook won't fit the metal loop in the cat collar. I have to hook it to the fabric part of my cat's collar. But I do like the size (width) of the lead and the fact it has reflective stitching on it.

I have to agree with the other reviewer who said that the sizing chart is off. Both my dogs are about 28 inches from neck to tailbase, so I ordered size XXL only to find out that the vests are way too big. PPE exchanged them without a problem (I had the new vests within a week) to XL, which fits my 100 pound Black Lab. It is still a little too big for my 78 pound Lab/Husky mix. Otherwise this is a good quality product.

I purchased two of these vests for my dogs so that they would be seen in the snow as something other than a hunted animal. First off, I found them to run a bit small. My male, Herman Munster, has a very large chest, and the strap barely fit around it. The back strap also has a fit issue. If I were to close it, it would come right across his penis. Not a great feature. So I had to snap it together on his back, so it just kind of flaps around like a cape. The first time he wore it, the strap got caught on a branch, and totally unraveled. So even if the placement had worked, it's of no use to me now. My female, Lily Munster, is on the chubby side, and the straps barely fit around her. I couldn't go up a size, because it would be too long for her body. So all in all, I'm not impressed with them. Sizing was an issue, placement of straps, durability also did not impress me. The concept is great, but I could've been more impressed.

These vests are well made for the price (China,of course), but the sizing chart is misleading. The chart states that a medium will fit dogs who are 12 to 16 inches from their neck to the base of their tail, but the medium itself is 16 inches long. My dogs are about 15 inches and there seems to be plenty of strap material to fit a much larger dog. I double checked the tags and mine are indeed mediums. These vests have 3 straps; one around the neck that connects harness-fashion to the one near the middle (about even with the first reflective stripe), and one at the hind end. This last one must have been removed for the picture. If you don't want your dog to pee on the last strap, you will either need to remove it, fold or roll up the vest, or order the next size down.

This vest is great, my dog it's okay with it. I bought it because we were going to be in Vermont during hunting season, and I didn't want anybody to confuse my dog with a deer. Also when it's great when you are in the woods because you can find your dog so easy everytime we loose him for a little bit.

Bought 2 of these for our dogs and after 3 wears, one of the black straps came out of the seam. Since I sew I fixed it and reinforced all the places the black straps hit the orange fabric. The stitching it comes with is single line and weak. Won't last if you're dog/s run through woods/brush or wrestle. At least the price is right and it was an easy fix if you can sew. I ordered L's (1 55 pound husky and 1 55 pound lab) but which fits in around the body but the fitting is too long, so the back strap goes too far back and makes it bunch. If I had male dogs it wouldn't fit comfortably. I would order a Medium next time and loosen the black straps.

Okay, here is the deal......this does work. The nubs are not something any pet or person wants to walk on. However, it covers only a small area, so there is nothing to stop your little furry family members from just dropping their presents around it. Once they pick a spot they like to go, they tend to stick to it. I was pretty upset that despite technically working, these were just squares of plastic that likely do not cost much to make. I bought three of them and felt a little jipped. I started thinking, and came-up with a similar concept that works-only it is cheaper and covers a lot more space. I bought a 6ft roll of clear rubber carpet runner for $3.99, and just laid it down upside-down so that the carpet grippers were facing up. Exact same result---cats do not want to step on those uncomfortable nubs. I was able to cut the runner down to the size needed and put it in a couple different places ( with lots to spare), and it actually is less obvious since it is clear. 6 feet instead of 18 inches for 1/3 the price.

I bought these to help with training my cat not to get up on counters or on the chairs by the fireplace and it didn't work. Several times I found her laying on top of them rolling around as if getting a massage. I now use these for kneeling while gardening. They keep your knees clean and airate the ground.

I have 6 dogs, ranging from 13 pounds up to 115 pounds and 3 cats. I tried 2 of these mats for my chairs to see if they would work and ended up buying 18 more. Nobody, but nobody wants to sit on them. The only thing they don't prevent is the cats jumping up on the top of the chairs to lay down. That I can live with. Occassionally the Jack Russell jumps up and tries to lay down but he eventually gives up and lays on the dog beds.

I got five of these originally to keep our kitties off our off-white sofa, not because of fur, but because one of them throws up all over the place. It took only a short period of time for all the kitties to realize that the sofa was no longer comfortable. I didn't even have to leave them on the sofa. Then, we started having problems with stray cats coming to the house and getting our kitties all excited by pawing at the windows of our screened-in porch. I took the X-Mats and placed them so the stray cats couldn't get past them on the stairs leading to the porch. Our cat will walk on the mat, but it is not comfortable enough for it to sit on (so that is good). Animal Planet Retractable Pet Leash with Flashlight

I spend more time fighting the leash than walking my dog. The leash doesn't retract very well, always getting caught in the handle. The rope portion is actually a ribbon shape which twists and creates knots easily. All in all this leash is crap I'd rather use a plain ol' rope and hold a flash light in my other hand.

I bought this leash to replace the other style of Animal Planet retractable leash that failed after almost a year of use.

This leash is equipped with a light, which did not work at all. Even if it did work, the button would not stay in the on position. Also, the light is mounted so far from the handle that it requires using your second hand to activate the light. The battery compartment cap on the light is very difficult to remove. Unlike similar battery holders, this one has a small keyway that makes it hard to assemble properly.

The leash I bought looks like the one in the attached photo, except the trigger has been redesigned with a larger hole. This allows you to use the leash while wearing gloves, which you will probably want to do because the edges of the trigger are rather sharp and uncomfortable to use.

This product is bad, even by Chinese product standards. Don't waste your money.

I agree with previous comments that the dog owner spends more time fighting with the leash than walking the dog. It does not retract well at all...especially when wet. When a product is endorsed by Animal Planet, one would think the product has been tested by one of thier own. Apparently, this was not and it shows. My dog gets tangled in the leash all the time because it will not retract. Have bought a new leash from a totally different company that actually works and makes walking the dog a much more enjoyable experience.

I bought this specifically for the flashlight to walk my dog at night. The flashlight worked for about 2 weeks then it died. I went to change the battery and the inside was totally corroded. I cleaned it up and tried a new set of batteries and it did not work. Very cheaply made. The leash works but it gets stuck frequently with too much slack so dog constantly walks over it and it's always under his leg which annoys him and me. I only spent $8 so I just have to chalk it up. Will never buy this brand again.

Update: I bought a small round flashlight from a dollar store and fit it in the hole (and taped it in place) where the animal planet flashlight was located and the leash is back in the saddle. Animal Planet just needs to improve their product. If a dollar store flashlight can work fine, their flashlight must be lower in quality and cheaper than that. I am very disappointed that they couldn't up the quality just a little bit.

Another update: The leash finally gave out. My dog extended it to the maximum and it got stuck at the longest extension and never retracted again. I tried everything to get it to catch and retract back in, but it did not. Imagine trying to control a energetic 70 lb dog with an over extended tape leash. The hand grip didn't matter anymore because I had to hold on to the line (ouch! think, hand burns from the friction)... Now it's in the trash. RIP.

Petstages Snuggle Scratch and Rest

Our felines absolutely loved this product, but sadly it is poorly made and the corrugated board rapidly unraveled with the feet also coming off. We are down to just a nub of the original product and yet the cats are still trying to lie on the remains. If it were more substantially constructed and lasted better it would be a fantastic product. A great concept, but the product quality is lacking.

My cat is about 17 years old and buying gifts for him is difficult. He's one of those cats that thinks he's above most toys, but he loves cardboard boxes and things like that, so I figured he'd like this. I was wrong.

He LOVES it. We call it his "saucer." He requests that it be put in the window during the daylight hours, and in the evening, we sit it in the floor of the den so he can watch TV with us. He's barely been out of it since I bought it. Plus it came with a little baggy of cat nip.

I have a rabbit too who hops in it when the cat has his back turned.

My cat absolutely loves to scratch and then cuddle up in a ball on this bed. I have bought two of them. The first one she tore off the printed cardbord around the sides. We then duct-taped the sides and bottom and this has worked fine. We bought a second one and put clear tape on the sides and duct tape on the bottom. We have six rescue cats, five females and one male, ages 9 months to 18 years. Weights 5 lbs. to 17 pounds. ALL of them LOVE this product...and we did not put the catnip on it. We bought two, one is upstairs and one on main floor. All the cats use them. They use for scratching some, but mainly for "resting". Often when one gets off, another will get in within a very short time. Even the 17 pound male can fit although there is no room to spare. Yes, it's made of cardboard but we knew that. It's partly why it is comfortable for cats. It appears the product will last quite a while. Bottom line: excellent product that I highly recommend.

I have a large female English mastiff and this wider collar is a much better fit to her size than earlier collars I have purchased for her. Good quality but not cheap

I got my American Staffordshire, which has big stocky neck at a shelter--they sent him home with me with a martingale collar. I liked the way it worked, and he started to outgrow the one he had from the shelter so I looked for another in the same design. I found this one in a pet store--paid almost $30 for it--but it was worth it. The wide design is great for my dog and it easily adjusts to slip off when I need to wash it, or my dog. I've had it about a year, and it still looks great after washing. So far it hasn't faded despite being red. Looked for it here on amazon because I plan on buying another one in case the same pirate design isn't available one day when it finally wears out.

The design on this collar is poor--the martingale loop is HUGE, loosens easier than it should and is heavy enough that unless attached to a taut leash, the collar slips around so the big martingale loop is hanging by the dogs' front legs...and becomes fully capable of catching and injuring a leg.

Due to that flaw, I consider this collar useless. While it's attractive and the thickness looks great on my male pit bull's neck, he doesn't lunge and drag on his leash (which appears to be the only way to keep the collar tight and in place), which means this collar is never going to work well with him or any other well-mannered dog. If you have a poorly behaved, lunging dog, then perhaps this collar might work for you....

Have the chain martingale from this company (1' thick) and love it, so was hoping this would be as nice, just a little thicker and more showy. No such luck.

Dean & Tyler DT Universal No Pull Dog Harness with Service Dog Velcro Patches, Black

I suggested this product for a client a service dog lab puppy who is ready for a long-lasting service dog harness. It was important for this puppy to not only look like a "real" service dog, but begin practicing obedience downs w/ weight being pulled against him. His training will be for a young boy who has "walking seizures" which essentially is a term to describe partial seizures which cause him to walk/run away. The service pup is being trained to maintain a down during this time to "anchor" the boy with his mom.

Anyway, with all of the different D-ring placements, the ability to swap out different patches as necessary, the handle, and the sturdy construction, this is all around a MUST BUY!

My only complaint is the sizing. A small was ordered for this 45# dog and the strap that goes between the legs from the front is TOO LONG. It is on its tightest fitting and is still too large, even though the girth strap is almost completely extended. I called and spoke with the manufacturing co. got the measurements. I don't know of any breed which would fit these types of dimensions. I tried this on my 50# 2.5 yr old APBT for sizing and still, on the tightest center strap setting, it fits perfectly around his wide chest (strap which is parallel to ground), and doesn't fit in the girth (even though his measurements do). I have ordered it for him with the strap extension piece.

So, if you are looking to buy a professional grade harness with multi-point connections, this is your harness! HOWEVER, I suggest to go one size smaller than you think you need and get the strap extension.

It isn't easy to find a reliable harness for a Newfie, much less find one that works well, is easy to adjust, and gives a degree of control. This does all that. And it has rings placed around to hang ID from, or even hook up a longer harness to pull a wheelchair or shopping cart. Two thumbs up!
