This product is great for people with two or more dogs. It seems very strong, which is nice because my dogs like to pull it pretty hard every once in a while. It was a little bigger than I expected, but still works. My dogs are 7 and 10lbs, right now, and it works for them...and I think it would work for medium size dogs even better.

This item is exactly as I pictured it to be, my dogs are 60lbs each and the 24" might have been a little to long 18" would have probably been better but it works fine.

This was the second collar we purchased. To say this was a life save is an understatement. Our 5 year old black lab was on the verge of having to be rehomed due to her "alpha" mentality with myself and my two children. We've had this product for about a year, and it worked like a charm and quickly to reduce our 30-pound puggle's crazy outside barking at neighbors and dogs as they walk by our house. The beep function is similar to the beep correction/border of our dog fence, so we didn't have to use the electric stimulation very much at all (which is again similar to the correction level of our dog fence). The different correction levels and remote are a huge advantage of this product over static bark collars. You can also use this as a substitute dog fence if you take your dog off your property (we have a few local dog parks we go to). Make sure you turn it off when the dog's in the house, as it goes through a set of batteries pretty quickly (although we were admittedly using cheap ones from the dollar rack of our local hardware store). We then bought a large supply of name brand batteries here on Amazon, because it's immensely cheaper than picking them up at local retailers. I'd buy another one if the one we have breaks for some reason.

I previously had the SportDog SD-105 for which the receiver died after a few years of use. Locally only PetSafe brand collars were available. Since both SportDog and PetSafe are owned by the same parent company I figured it'd be the same, but I was mistaken. The PetSafe one had metal clips inside the remote that were supposed to form as metal contacts to the batteries to provide power, but they are very flimsy. As a result from time to time your remote will completely lose power and have to be reseated or just wait for it to come back on later. That's all the time it would take for my dog to get run over by a car. So I'm definitely returning this. Aside from that it works good... when it works.

If she hears me even wrinkling a plastic she comes running. They last her a good hour or more of chewing, too. The huskies my daughter has want them, too, so they get an occasional one but gone in like 3 minutes. I tried the breath mints with all of them as well. First off, do not remove any of the pins that are already put in place. My boyfriend made that mistake. It took us an hour to get this thing together. And, you definatly need two people to do it. There was one part that was bent but it seemed to be ok. I will definatly be securing all the edges with zip ties. It doesn't seem that only the pins will do the job. On a better note, I would order this again. I don't know if my dog(White Shepherd)is going through his terrible two's or what but he destroyed my couch. So this is the reason I got it. He loves it!!

This product is constructed very well, it is sturdy and high quality. It looks very professional, legitimate and the text is very bold and easy to read. However, the sizing is difficult to understand without having your dog with it to try it on so it was slightly too large for my pup. However I used it several times but it is fairly impractical when it is warm outside. There is too much surface area covering the dog and the harness is very stiff (doesn't allow for much breathability or flexibility). The small handle on the back is FAR too short and fairly impractical. I only used it on my dog twice and never used it after that.

I would only recommend this for someone who lives in a cooler climate, I am going to buy another that is less bulky.

I Crate Single Door - 22" L x 13" W x 16" H

I have a large icrate with a divider panel. I do love this crate, however the hooks and edges are very sharp. Today I took the divider panel out so I could collapse the crate to give to friend who is watching my puppy while I'm out of town. I leaned the panel against the bedroom door and my puppy came up to investigate. As she backed up, a hook went COMPLETELY THROUGH HER EYELID. After a couple seconds of her screaming in pain I managed to get her calm enough to carefully slide the hook back out and rush her to the vet. Fortunately the hook did not injure her eye but she has a bloody gash in her eyelid and it's very swollen. She's going to have to be on antibiotics for the next week. Vet visit cost $120, half of which was for the emergency status of the visit and the other half for the antibiotics. The hooks need to be rounded off or filed down.

We purchased this product when our grand-daughter obtained a 6 lb Chihuahua. But, since her parents could not deal with a new dog, we inherited Nacho. However, we already had a 14 year old Yorkie. So, there was a real compatible curve to overcome. But, what we found, was that our Yorkie, Molly, loved the security and privacy of this crate. So, we ordered another one from Midwest. Delivery and price were great. But when I broke the handle during assembly, I emailed them and had a replacement within days. I managed to install it with no problems. Dogtra IQ - Yard Training Collar

I had purchased the 280NCP at the recommendation of our trainer for our Australian Shepherd. We used it for 6 weeks and loved it. Once we were "all" trained on how to use it, we saw amazing results. Unfortunately, my husband lost the transmitter. Not sure how -maybe it will turn up, but we needed another collar (did not want to "loose" all of the great results from training). I was not happy about spending ANOTHER $230 on a collar, and came across this IQ by Dogtra. A few of the features that I did not particularly like on the transmitter for the 280 are different on the IQ, making it much easier for me to use with one hand (having the stimulation dial on then top and having the buttons on the sides for example). The receiver is much smaller in size, but the contact points are the same (my dog is only 40 lbs, and the smaller receiver is much better!). The range is less, but the chances of her more being 400 yards (4 football fields) away are extremely slim. The other great thing is the 2 hour charge vs. 12 14 hours on the 280. I will tell you, this is an absolutely amazing collar, and as far as training, does exactly the same as the more expensive 280. I am so happy that Dogtra came out with an excellent collar at a lower price point. Unless you are training dogs to hunt or need ranges so far away you can't see your pet, this is a perfect collar and I highly recommend it~

My dog is crazy fast (part italian greyhound). When she takes off all she is thinking about is running. She doesn't hear me, even if that means she is heading toward a road. This collar helps me get her attention and keep her safe. Worth every penny. No complaints at all. I love the size. I think this is the best, quality collar you can get for a smaller dog. I usually only have to use the pager and I have her attention. For people out there who think these collars are inhumane...I've tried out every level of the electric shock on myself. I've never gone over 40 on her. Over 40 on my bear arm is not comfortable, it did make muscles twitch in my arm. My arm never had any marks on it. I don't know about all collars but this one could not injure my dog. I would not go over level 40 on her though. I always rotate the dial down to zero so that I never hit it on accident and confuse her. It gets her attention where all the training and classes have never been able to consistently do, and keeps her safe from what she doesn't know will hurt her. I would recommend going to a class. As with every command your dog needs to understand what is going on, and what is being asked from them. Be patient with your dog. This isn't a miracle tool. I think of it as an extension of my hand. It should never be used to intimidate your dog.

This collar is amazing, I can't believe I waited so long to get one. I really thought that using something like this was cruel and I still hesitate to mention it to certain people since "shock collar" has such a negative designation. I tell people this is an "E-collar" and explain to them that it has a pager / vibrate option that I use 99% of the time and the other option is something that feels like a TENS unit that makes the muscles contract.

I have a 2 year old pit/poodle/pug mix and he could not be trusted near the door or anywhere outside where he could possibly run away. While on the leash, he pulled constantly unless I put the collar around the top of his neck and really put a lot of effort into getting him to not pull. I wanted to be able to take him on hikes without the leash and a friend recommended this product. I did a lot of googling on the best way to train him, but I ended up mostly just using trial and error. I tried the collar on myself first just to see how it felt and it was not bad. I ended up using a low setting of "20" for my dog which worked 95% of the time (occasionally I had to go up to 30% if he was chasing a squirrel or something).

I spent about 2 hours a day for a few days having him follow me around, buzzing him when he left my side and stopping the buzzing when he got to my side. I basically played keep away and had him try to stay with me. Then I took him for a walk in the neighborhood with no leash and a small string attached to his collar (just in case the e-collar failed me) and I would let him go 40+ ft away if necessary and use the e-collar to get him back. After a week of that I felt confident enough to take him out without a string and we had no issues. After two weeks I rarely would have to use the "shock" and could just hit the vibrate button and he would come running back to my side.

It's been about 2 months and he's almost to the point that he doesn't need the collar. I often never have to hit a button when we're on our walks and can just give him verbal commands to come back to me. I've even taken him for a walk a few times and realized half way through that the collar wasn't even on!

I'm going to try to make a video of what I did to train him to share with the others. I can tell that Pepe is much happier now and has so much more fun going on walks and being able to explore on his own without constantly pulling on a leash. We've been on hikes through the woods and he has so much fun running around smelling things. This product is great, it does not hurt the dog and has greatly improved his quality of life.

We were looking for a good yard training collar for our lab, he's 90lbs. I read alot of reviews of this product on Amazon and other website, including the manufacturer website. The reviews were very good. I did some research and found that this collar would work for our needs, this dog doesn't go hunting, but we do live near a lake, with a large place to roam. I wasn't looking for something to keep him in the yard, but when We are out with him, to let him run a little, but keep him safe. He knows basic commands, but we thought maybe something to help reinforce these if he becomes distracted would work good. We got the collar last week, and put it on him after reading the manual and making sure it was fully charged. I like the 2 hour rechargable battery for both receiver and transmitter. The collar is plastic but seems to be made will. The collar came assembled out of the box. The collar fits fine, and is easy to turn on and see that its on. The collar has a nick setting, a longer pulse setting and page(vibrate setting). SO far I have only needed to use the nick feature a couple times, I started out low, around 30, but that didn't seem to get his attention. I went up to 40, I could tell he felt it, but didn't respond to me, at around 50 he responded immediately and returned. Mostly the pager function will let him know he is outside of his free area, and if he doesn't respond to commands,and then paging, then I use the nick. Once I needed to use the longer energy feature. Its important that the dog know his boundaries and basic commands. We don't need the collar for barking or jumping, because he doesn't do that, but I could see that it would be useful. I have let him roam about 150-200 yards from me, and tested the range, and he responded immediately. I do wish the buttons on the transmitter were clearly marked or color coded, but not a big deal. This product works very well for us.

Bitter Lime Pump Spray

I got Grannick's Bitter Apple spray at the same time as the Four Paws Bitter Lime spray. I don't know exactly what is in the Bitter Apple spray, but the Bitter Lime spray contains Bitrex, a trade name for denatonium benzoate. If you Google this compound, you'll find that it is the most bitter substance known to man. It is commonly used to keep kids and pets from consuming such poisons as antifreeze, windshield washer fluid, denatured alcohol, and the like. The state of Oregon requires it to be used in poisonous products as of 1995. It's also a key component in anti-chewing nail polishes.

Denatonium benzoate is so bitter that humans can detect it in concentrations as low as 0.05 PPM (parts per million). At a concentration of just 10 PPM, it is unbearably bitter to humans. Concentrations used for preventing ingestion are typically in the 10 40 PPM range. That's equivalent to just 2.5 to 10 milligrams of denatonium benzoate per 8 oz bottle of spray. I have no idea what concentration the Bitter Lime spray uses (Four Paws Bitter Lime gel claims its Bitrex content is 0.0025%, or 25 PPM), but it does taste very, very nasty (I didn't taste it intentionally!).

The Bitter Lime spray uses isopropyl alcohol and water as its primary ingredients. This is very useful, since it dries quickly, thereby preventing "Mr. Lick'n'Chew" from attempting to rub it off on the carpet or on his bedding. The spray doesn't seem to bother him when I apply it, something I was worried about due to the alcohol content, but he sure hates the taste of the stuff: once he's been treated, he sits staring at me, glowering. Every so often, he'll retry a chew or lick, only to shake his head in disgust. Denatonium benzoate is non-toxic and non-carcinogenic, so it's fine for the dog to get in his mouth, if he can stand it.

Overall, the Bitter Lime spray is a success. It's easy to use, dries quickly, and the dog hates the taste.

I originally got the bitter apple spray to cover wires and keep my ferrets from chewing the cables. However, it didn't seem to deter the, from chewing at all. I have only used the product for a few days so I cant attest to the longevity of the spray but so far they hate it. They have gone up the sprayed wires to sniff but shake their head when they touch them. Does the trick so far!

I have a german shepard mix puppy who love to tear up my indoor rugs. She loves nothing better than to grab the kitchen and door rugs and drag them through her dog door out to the back yard, shredding them and leaving them in the sprinkler. I bought this to keep my cats from jumping into my Christmas tree. I first strayed the area the tree would be in and then I sprayed the tree and again the area. The cats sniffed and seemed to not mind it. I then held both cats, let them smell it and had them lick it and they did NOT like the taste. I wanted them to associate the smell with the taste. They didn't go near it because when they did I sprayed them but then the next day my kitten sniffed and went under the tree. I don't know if it was the smell/taste or the sound of the spray they didn't like. But so far they haven't been going but like I said, I don't know if its because of the spray or sound.

This leash was ok but I have a puppy and older lab and wanted to use a harness instead of collars pulling on their necks. This works well for that. When you pull on the leash the tension increases under their shoulders. My dogs wee both responsive to the tension. I didn't like how long the tension tie is. I'm not sure what to call that but it is the piece that you connect your leash to. It is very long so once it is attached to my normal length leash I now have tons ofleash to gather. Also I ended up returning the product because it isn't good if you want to let your dog "off leash". The harness gets saggy without the tension of being attached to a leash and the "tension tie" dangles and slaps the dogs in the face. However that being said if you don't let you're dog off leash this product does work well. My relative had one and has used it successfully for years on her boxer.

I don't care for this product it's too crumbly for training my dogs with, Training with dogs requires small easily and quickly eaten treats. These treats crumble and leave bits which the dogs are busy scarfing up rather than working.

Beef heart is what gives Discus their beautiful colors (It helps). This product is an easy substitute for buying heart from the butcher (if you can even get it!).

1 box spinach (defrosted and drained)

3ish handfuls of fish flake food (any kind)

use food processor to mash up each part. This makes a good bit so you may have to chop in food processor, take it out and put in large mixing bole, and then put the next ingredient into processor and so on. The consistency is going to be very dense like toothpaste. I put in a baking pan and let it sit in the fridge for 3hrs or so to set up then I move to the freezer and freeze it. Once it is frozen you can take it out and cut it into little peaces, put them in some good Tupperware containers and keep frozen. Then feed as needed! Good luck! : )

Grin Daily Treats - 4 ounce

I've been searching for a treat to give my dogs to help ensure healthy teeth and better breath, and these looked perfect because they are made of all natural ingredients and do not contain any wheat, soy, corn, dairy or sugar. These treats are small, about twice the size of a bullion cube and semi-soft but tough enough that the dogs have to work to chew them. To me, they stink, I don't like the smell of them.

I have four dogs:

two of which who will eat nearly anything you give them, a boxer and a Boston terrier

I'd recommend getting these treats in the small 4 ounce size the first time to be sure your dogs will eat them.

These are great treats for dogs. They are healthy and clean there teeth. My dog has gastrointestinal issues and I have never had an issue with these treats with him. He absolutely loves them.

Sporn Double Dog Leash - Two Dog Leash Med- XL, black

Love it. This works great for me as I have a Boxer and a Boston Terrier which are quite different in height. The leash allows me to set it longer for the little dog so that each of them has the same amount of lead. Much heavier duty than I thought. Love the swivel no more getting tangled.

This is a great product; well built; very good quality. It is great for dogs weighing 20 pounds or more. One caution, though.....the leash and hardware is so heavy duty that it is to "heavy" for puppies and toy/very small dogs. Sporn needs to sell the same product but designed for dogs under 20 pounds.

I have been walking the dogs with two separate retractable leashes that would continuously get tangled up especially if while walking we encountered another dog. This leash is adjustable so that I can lengthen the leash for one dog or shorten it. I was a little concerned about purchasing the leash due to the reviews mentioning that the coupler was too heavy for toy breeds but I don't find the leash to be heavy for my 10 lb. toy poodle.

I own two huskies, who walk fairly well on a leash. I thought this item would make it alot easier for me to walk the two together, but I was wrong. The clip that does the adjustment of the lenght isn't strong enough. It was constantly allowing slippage and the lenght that I had set between the two dogs was becoming larger. I would not recommend this item for dogs over 50 pounds that like to have a tight lead. My dogs don't drag me down the street, but they aren't the greatest walkers either, and this just plain didn't work for them.

Unfortunately, they are hard to find, extremely expensive at more than $10 a bag (about 14 small bones,) and the shipping and handling costs are KILLER. My dog has a very sensitive stomach and is on an almost vegetarian diet. He LOVES these bones! I was afraid they would only last about one minute, but he gets about 15-30 minutes of chewing pleasure from them, so they are a great snack for him. This is doing exactly what we need it to do allowing us to keep track of our black German Shepherd mix at night when we let him outside. Premier Collar, 1-Inch

I chose to return this collar. I purchased 3. I have 3 dogs with thick necks, but small heads. I wanted a collar that was comfortable for daily wear, but that the dog couldn't back out of on lead.

If I had intended to only put this on my dogs for walks, and then remove when we got home, then this would have worked. The collars did feel very solid. Although, the adjusting needed to fit the neck properly would make frequent "ons and offs" kind of a pain?

However, my intent was to put it on, and leave it on. Two problems I didn't like-

The premier collar has a fairly large choking loop. So much area was taken up by the choke loop, that I would worry about my kids accidentally hurting the dog by tugging too hard. In all fairness, this may be solved by my getting a smaller size? My dogs measurements were just on the edge between medium and large.

I considered sending it back and trying medium...because the price is really quite fair, and the quality great. But, this brings me to problem 2.

There is only one D ring...and it is, of course, on the choker loop. If you put the Dogs ID on that, it causes the choking loop to hang down. This seemed dangerous to me. It would clearly get caught on stuff and have the potential to choke the dog.

But, the price is right, and the quality good. (although, I did notice the 1 inch collar was better material than the 3/4...the latter seemed to be "snaggy") I reviewed the product description and found the collar was described perfectly. I guess that I just didn't know what I was looking for until I tried it on the dog, and found it did not suit my purposes.

I was able to find a Lupine collar that was perfect. Also, of course, on Amazon :)

Our dog had a medium-sized Premier collar before and we encountered problems taking it off every night -clearly, it was just a bit too small for her size (she's approximately 40 pounds, medium-sized). For this collar, I decided to measure her neck according to the instructions and she fell in the very high end of the medium collar and the low to medium range for the large collar (so, easy choice -large collar it is!). Unfortunately, because she's still a fairly small dog, the 1-inch size is a bit bulky for her and we have to tighten it to the max to keep it on (and it's still a bit large).

All that being said, I haven't seen her slip out of the collar yet and it's holding up well despite several runs in a creek and through the woods. Would definitely buy again, but next time hope they have blue in a 3/4"!

this is a very durable collar. I definitely recommend the martingale type collar for most dogs. it keeps them from slipping out.

The martingale feature just doesn't work as well as a chain martingale collar. It look goods but just isn't as functional as I thought of it.

I have owned this collar and transmitter for about 12 months now. We purchased it with 2 additional collars for our two new large breed puppies and an older 2 year old Catahoula. We have 10 acres which is fenced with electric horse wire. The dogs soon learned to hunker down under the fence and go roaming. We bought the collars to teach them their boundaries. All the dogs are rescue dogs with unknown backgrounds my wife is a veterinarian.

First the bad:

The transmitter supports up to 6 collars, however the more collars you add the less features you have. With 3 collars we are only able to 'nick' (a brief shock) or shock (hold the button for up to 2 buttons for a continuous shock).

The collars are bulky our dogs do not seem to know they are wearing them, but smaller dogs may feel uncomfortable.

The Good:

The transmitter has a great range.

The collars stay charged for around 2 days (we charge ours every night as a habit)

The transmitter charge lasts around 4 months before needing recharging

The collars are rugged. Our large puppies play hard together and they have never been a problem.

The collars have a big bite. The scale goes up to 10. I use 1 normally, but had to go to 3 just once when one dog got in a fight with a neighbors dog.

How we used ours:

Dogs are smart, and they know when you are not around, and will adjust their habits accordingly. We used discreet training, and not the usual method as detailed in the book. We were not using the collars to get the dogs to perform a task, more to stop them from doing unwanted behavior. I train my dogs with a clicker for wanted behavior.

Our dogs quickly learned that all fences are 'hot', whether they were electric or pipe or chain-link.

Our dogs learned that horses or cattle being chased can shock them from 5 feet away.

Our dogs learned that pickups being chased will also shock you.

Our dogs learned that vegetable patches are shocking.

Our dogs learned that aggressive behavior to siblings shocked you.

Our dogs now freely roam our 10 acres. They never go out of the property line without their masters inviting them to do so. They never chase horses or cattle. They play fight, but never take it further. They return home at my whistle for their dinner. They are happy and content dogs.

If you worry this collar is cruel then you are not thinking about it logically. An ill-behaved or aggressive dog is a liability to itself and others. My wife (the veterinarian) sees many cases were one dog attacked another member of its family, got hit by a car whilst chasing it, was shot after worrying neighbors live stock, etc.

Keep your pet safe, he will thank you for it.
