This harness is awesome... except even the "medium" is way to big for my 55lb setter/spaniel. She is a "skinny" breed long and lean, so this is probably more for a barrel chested breed. I love the durable construction (my dog has chewed right through 3 of the regular harnesses available at pet stores). This one has a really useful handle on the dog's back and best of all, the straps are so wide that people think she is a professional dog (like a helper dog) so I can take her places that I normally wouldn't take her. I ended up taking the harness to a tailor, who shortened the straps so that it would fit better, and it seems to be working well. I appreciate the variety of places that I can hook her leash up to and the heavy duty, easy release clasp/buckles.

Such a great harness even if the XS size is a little too big on our 30 pound beagle. I just wish after paying so much it fit her like it should. The vertical strap is way too loose and the part that goes around her neck is a little loose. It still works quite well for the pulling and allows for a much nicer walk for me at least. I just have to make sure she doesn't accidentally slip out of it, but so far no problems. I usually loop the leash from the front d-ring through the ring on the pull handle to keep the leash from tangling her feet. Quality is excellent, which is why I hesitate to have someone adjust it. It would be the perfect harness if if fit properly.

Just received the harness in the mail today. I love the way it fit my 33lb Standard Poodle, but I am concerned about a few of the features. I wish it was a bit softer for the dogs comfort. The large buckle on the side digs into her when she lays and rubs when she walks. I will have to find a way to modify this to make it more comfortable before I actually use it. Also, the metal ring on the handle just flops around. I will also find a way to velcro this down if it is not needed. I would have expected a little higher comfort level for the price. Having said all that I DO like the design and the ring on the front. It seems to be very well made and looks great on. It just needed a little bit more work to make it the 'perfect' harness.

Harness is great! However, I was notified that I would be receiving the harness on Feb 21st, only to find that it did not ship until the 23rd and arrived in March. I did not rec've a notification of any kind saying that the shipment was delayed. I was pretty disappointed with the three week wait! Probably won't purchase anything from this vendor again.

I bought these pads because the price seemed great! However, I'm not impressed with the quality. The pads aren't very absorbent and when my puppy steps on the urine afterwards, his paws are soaked. The urine has also sometimes gone through the blue backing and onto the floor. They also don't control the smell. I've bought more expensive pads that soak up the urine and the smell. With these, I can smell urine as soon as I enter my house. I kind of wish I ordered a smaller batch, but now I'm stuck with 200. I guess you get what you pay for.

I initially purchased 3 of these collars in different colors and all had the powder-paint evenly applied. Unfortunately, I needed larger sizes than I had initially ordered. I re-ordered and am disappointed to find that some of the re-order has paint missing where links join. They look like they were used for a year by someone else! ONE of them (the lime green) is in perfect condition. Otherwise I do like them, the colors are bright. I ordered, lime green, pink and purple initially. On my re-order I added blue (electric blue) and red.

Poor production control, is my guess. One other suggestion for those who have heavily coated dogs go up one size or you will find it difficult to get the collar out of heavy neck fur.

Bitter Lime Pump Spray

I got Grannick's Bitter Apple spray at the same time as the Four Paws Bitter Lime spray. I don't know exactly what is in the Bitter Apple spray, but the Bitter Lime spray contains Bitrex, a trade name for denatonium benzoate. If you Google this compound, you'll find that it is the most bitter substance known to man. It is commonly used to keep kids and pets from consuming such poisons as antifreeze, windshield washer fluid, denatured alcohol, and the like. The state of Oregon requires it to be used in poisonous products as of 1995. It's also a key component in anti-chewing nail polishes.

Denatonium benzoate is so bitter that humans can detect it in concentrations as low as 0.05 PPM (parts per million). At a concentration of just 10 PPM, it is unbearably bitter to humans. Concentrations used for preventing ingestion are typically in the 10 40 PPM range. That's equivalent to just 2.5 to 10 milligrams of denatonium benzoate per 8 oz bottle of spray. I have no idea what concentration the Bitter Lime spray uses (Four Paws Bitter Lime gel claims its Bitrex content is 0.0025%, or 25 PPM), but it does taste very, very nasty (I didn't taste it intentionally!).

The Bitter Lime spray uses isopropyl alcohol and water as its primary ingredients. This is very useful, since it dries quickly, thereby preventing "Mr. Lick'n'Chew" from attempting to rub it off on the carpet or on his bedding. The spray doesn't seem to bother him when I apply it, something I was worried about due to the alcohol content, but he sure hates the taste of the stuff: once he's been treated, he sits staring at me, glowering. Every so often, he'll retry a chew or lick, only to shake his head in disgust. Denatonium benzoate is non-toxic and non-carcinogenic, so it's fine for the dog to get in his mouth, if he can stand it.

Overall, the Bitter Lime spray is a success. It's easy to use, dries quickly, and the dog hates the taste.

I originally got the bitter apple spray to cover wires and keep my ferrets from chewing the cables. However, it didn't seem to deter the, from chewing at all. I have only used the product for a few days so I cant attest to the longevity of the spray but so far they hate it. They have gone up the sprayed wires to sniff but shake their head when they touch them. Does the trick so far!

I have a german shepard mix puppy who love to tear up my indoor rugs. I bought this to keep my cats from jumping into my Christmas tree. I first strayed the area the tree would be in and then I sprayed the tree and again the area. The cats sniffed and seemed to not mind it. I then held both cats, let them smell it and had them lick it and they did NOT like the taste. I wanted them to associate the smell with the taste. They didn't go near it because when they did I sprayed them but then the next day my kitten sniffed and went under the tree. I got this product from Petsmart and paid closer to $200...I wanted to actually talk to someone about the product as I wasn't a believer in it.

After some debating I decided to get this product for my pet as she was a rescue with absolutely no manners. Before owning this product the dog had seen several trainers to work on her behaviors, such as biting, jumping, pulling on lead, garbage raiding, and peeing indoor. Also, we have tried walking her for 45mins 1hr a day to burn energy with no positive results AND tried a dog day care where she was soon kicked out of because she "didn't play well"....but that's a whole different story.

The instructions for the product say to pick 1 problem and work with it as to not confuse the dog. So, I picked the most troublesome problem at the time which was biting (the dog was slowly getting better with house training so I felt no need to use this on her for that).

Well, it has worked miracles. My dog is so much better behaved after just a month of use and even my family members and friends comment on how much better behaved she is.

With the collar you get the option to select levels 1 15 for the "static shock". I started at 1 and worked my way up until I got a response from the collar. I found that for my 45lb dog that 6 works best. It seems to be just enough to stop her from what she was doing, but not nearly enough to make her yelp. IF YOUR DOG YELPS YOU HAVE THE SETTING TOO HIGH!!!

I've read reviews about battery life not being good, but I last charged the collar and the remote a month ago and the remote still reads full battery and the collar is still blinking green (to indicate it's on and charged).

The collar is supposedly waterproof, but I personally don't know with that. The collar goes on like a belt with a pin through a hole, but it also has your traditional clip that plugs in. This is great because once you find the right size for your pet, you can just unclip it when you want to take it off and simply put it right back on without having to adjust the size. This allows for you to quickly and easily take it on or off.

I always wonder if the collar is uncomfortable for the dog (even when it's not zapping), but my dog falls asleep next to me on the couch with it on as if it's not even there. She doesn't scratch at it or anything, so I just have to assume it's not that bad (she put up a much larger fight with those silly elizabethan collars -the "cone of shame")

If you are having issues training your dog, this may work for you. I know not everyone thinks they're a good idea. I've tried it on the number that it's set to for my dog (6) on my arm and it was more of a nuisance shock and not like a taser which is what most of us think of.

I reccomend this product to anyone that is having issues, maybe not as a first resort, but this is certainly able to work if you use it and it will lead to a much happier pet and owner in the long run. For example, now that my dog behaves much better she gets to spend more time hanging around the family instead of in a crate and she gets to be in the kitchen while we're eating because she no longer jumps all over the place.

If you were to ask my dog, I would think she'd say she is happier now that we all get along.

About 9 months ago, I bought my first Vizsla puppy. I've been told that e-collar training is a must for sporting dogs. I was talking to a couple trainers, and they considered this a cheaper collar. I use this whistle to make my dogs shut up when they wont stop barking. I can definitely hear it but it still works pretty well.

This whistle is not quiet at all as a dog whistle is expected to be. With the pitch screw all the way in, there is a high pitch sound and a lower sound with the screw down to the last thread. If you want a "soundless" whistle, this is not it. It does get my dogs attention though. She runs away from it! I'll keep it though, it's not worth sending back.

My advice to anyone probably does not need giving, yet for those like myself, here goes. Read the little instruction guide before jumping in. I immediatedly started popping batteries in and ofcourse did not do the transmitter first. I placed the batteries into the receiver first, which is exactly NOT what the instructions say. So I thought maybe I had gotten a faulty unit. The only faulty unit here turned out to be me. So read the instructions and set up your remote transmitter first. Then place the batteries into the receiver and it will code itself to the remote. Also, read the tips, etc concerning training with an electronic collar. It is important.

I have been using mostly only the vibrate mode on my girl who is a strong headed, hyper one year old lab mix. I have only had to "zap" (shock) her once. She is responding beautifully. This item has absolutely shown her that I now have backup and am serious about the commands I have already taught her, yet she had decided lately that she could obey when it suited her. Now she obeys when I ask her.

And it has only been one day !!!

I LOVE this training system. And I LOVE the price. I would never have been able to afford most electronic training systems on my small old aged pension.

The receivers seem to require reset every day as the batteries seem to shake loose. Also un happy that transmitter rrequires time to restart. The adjustable levels are good. It is useful on control 2 dogs.

Don't waste your money. You WILL be disappointed. The range is about 50 feet. The battery life is short and batteries in remote are not easy to come by. The collars will not tolerate moisture. The collars will not adjust down to smaller dogs and they must be tight enough for the little prongs to make contact or the shock won't work.The remote shuts off after a few seconds of non use and must be restarted and reset to the correct mode. The collars seem to easily loose the ability to communicate with the collars which entails taking the collar off the dog, unscrewing the prongs, pulling the cover off, removing the battery and reinstalling the battery while pushing a button on the remote. This takes from 3 to 10 minutes and happens often...if it keeps working that long. Trust me, you can do WAY better. Stay away from these.

My dogs are a 45-lb boxer mix and a 35-lb mystery mix. They're both medium-sized, with the heavier one being 3-4" taller. The coupler arrived unexpectedly fast; a day before the delivery estimate in fact! So we gave it a test run. I wasn't sure if the 24" length on each side would be too long, but it was great...the longer length allows you to keep the leashes above the dogs' heads which prevents tangling. No stopping to lift up front legs because of leashes caught underneath. And not once did I do a spin to get unwrapped from a leash around my waist or a high step over one around my leg! The dogs were far enough apart so that one couldn't yank the other around, which is something I encountered years ago when I tried out a much shorter coupler. I also felt more in control; my dogs walk pretty well on leash but every so often a dog or squirrel will grab their attention and they will forget their manners and pull. That didn't happen today, but I can tell that correcting them will be a lot easier with the coupler and a single leash rather than trying to correct two excited dogs on two separate leashes. As I was researching couplers, I noticed others saying they could be too heavy for smaller dogs. I don't think that would be the case with this one because it's very light. It's definitely worth a shot if you're on the fence, and I recommend going for a longer length instead of shorter if you're unsure about what size to get. It's awesome to get a well-made, useful product for under 8 bucks, with super fast free shipping besides. Five stars!

I purchased a different coupler before this one, and I must say this one is a much better design. I like how the two leashes are permanent to the o-ring. The other coupler I purchased had an adjustable clip, and the clip would always slip making one side longer than the other so one dog had 3 feet and the other only a few inches. This works great for two very different size dogs. I use it for my 50# Chow Chow and my 25# Dachshund, and I attach it to a retractable leash. It worked greatno tangles and the leash held them both no problem. It seems to be well made. Great purchasevery happy.

Works as promised. Very heavy duty. Doesn't appear to be heavy duty. The straps are not the size of car safety belts and the buckles are not the size of vehicle toe clips, but this is a VERY heavy duty item that will last and will hold any breed dog. Strong enough for bigger breeds and small enough for the little ones. Clip one leash and able to control (or try to control) two dogs at once. I have two shepherds, so I try. Mostly they just trot along together and it is long enough to give each dog their distance. Great product.

Great quality and good heavy duty clips but not too heavy for my 20 lbs dogs. One love to pull, the other is a gentlemen: With being able to use just one leash, I was able to control his side of the coupler with one hand so he had to was alongside and not out in front. Although it is said there should only be enough room for one dog of the same size between the two dogs on the coupler, the longer length gave my gentlemen the ability to get around the bully easily and take his own walk, while the other had to mind his manners. Two big drawbacks for this product.

First, the collar would not stay tight on our dog. As soon as she ran around for less than five minutes the collar was flapping around her throat. That means no contact for the electrodes. A cheap collar ruins the product.

Second, the shocking device needed to be completely dismantled to turn it off. The batteries have to be removed because there is no switch.

Overall, this product was a waste of money. Don't make the same mistake I did, I tried to get by with the cheapest product I could find. I just ordered another training collar for twice the price. I hope it works better.

The item description says it will fit a small or medium dog with a neck measuring 20-50cm, I have a min-pin, my dog has a 31cm neck and even when I pulled the strap on the collar to make it it's smallest it was still too large for my dog. The unit never touched my dogs neck for him to feel the vibration. The positive is that I wanted a unit that I would use the vibrate function more so the shock was of very little importance and when used it was so low I could barely feel anything as I tested it on myself. It is also nice that it used batteries that wouldn't require special ordering, they are at any and all local stores.

Point #1: The collar does shut itself off when it sits undisturbed for a few minutes. (not supposed to leave it on the dog all the time.

Point #2: I have only needed to use the shock feature 1 time. I use the vibration feature which is enough to scare my dog enough to stop doing what he is doing (small cavalier king charles spaniel). I have used the shock feature regularly for 2-3 weeks before having to replace the collar batteries. still using the same 9-volt that came with the remote.

Not sure how effective this would be on a large dog but I know that this collar was well worth the cost and has trained my dog to not misbehave, scratch up doors, and chew up everything. Very pleased. Not sure what others are expecting from a collar of this price! The only reason I gave it 4 start is I don't like how large the collar piece is on a small dog. Another reason i don't leave it on him all the time, only when training.

Treatstik Small Blue Meal And Treat Dispensing Dog Toy

I own the large Treatstik (9.75" long), and the small (6" long but with the same size treat dispensing hole). The large holds up to 1.5 cups of treats or kibble; the small ½ cup.

Both are well made of thick, hard, sturdy nylon that is smooth, with no sharp parts. Even the hole treats are dispensed from has smoothed edges. I have not used either size long enough to speak to how long it would last. I can't say what a stronger/larger jawed chewer than mine would do with it, but this toy is so sturdy and well made that I fully expect that it would last for years with my dogs. I bought the large to feed my 50lb. border collie one of her 2 meals a day of dry kibble. It both entertained her and slowed down her too-rapid eating. She did not seem too interested in chewing on it, mainly just knocking the food out (which occupied her for quite a while, but was not so hard to do that she became frustrated & felt the need to chew it open). She worked on it quite vigorously, pawing hard at it and knocking it into furniture. So I toss throw pillows or towels in front of certain furniture legs, etc, when I use it inside.

I've bought several treat/food dispenser toys, but this is the only one I've continued to use. Unlike the others, both sizes of Treatstik are very easy to fill through its large opening; even my sore hands can screw the cap on/off easily; cap stays on while my dog plays with it; and it's very easy to wash by hand, or it's dishwasher-safe.

Note that the Treatstik website says it is not for "toy" dogs: the hole that dispenses the treats is by my measure approximately 3/4" long by 1/2" wide oval. The small size has the same size hole. So in my opinion a dog might be a bit safer if she has lower canines farther apart than ¾".

The large size also works fine with my 14lb mini poodle, and she loves it (I supervise her with it, and her lower canines are wider than the hole). She rolls it all around, pawing at it & nosing it until she gets as much kibble out as she can, then looks to me to shake the rest down to the narrow end so she can work on it some more. I have to shake it down several times for her to get it all. So I bought the smaller size for her, thinking that she would be able to pick it up & tilt it to shake the last remaining bits of kibble down to the dispensing hole, which she cannot do with the large size (too big even at the narrower end for her small mouth to pick up). But she still can't pick up the fatter end of the small one, which is where she would need to grasp it to tilt it to get the food to fall down to where the hole is (she frustrates easily & won't experiment with more creative ways to tilt it). So she has the same problem with both sizes, causing her to get frustrated & give up on getting the last 10 or so pieces of (very small bites size) kibble out. So whichever size Treatstik we're using, I continue to help her out when she gets down to the last pieces. Occasionally I just open the end & dump out the few remaining pieces to save time.

Also, the smaller toy is so much narrower in diameter in the part where the dispensing hole is, that if I put her entire 1/3 cup meal of kibble in it, my dog feels she might be able to reach the kibble by just lying down & chewing at the hole to get to the food something she never even tried with the large version, and not what I want her to do with this toy. So I have to feed her the 1/3 cup in 2 installments, a minor nuisance (but not an issue if you're only using it to feed a few treats at a time).

My dog gives up easily & never goes back to toys that frustrate her, but some small dogs might work at the small Treatstik until they figured out a way to tilt the food out which might even be a good thing to keep them busy longer?

So both sizes work pretty much the same for my small dog, except that I can put her whole meal at one time in the large one, and the small one just requires a refill part way through. She likes both, and we use both, but I wish I'd known all this before I invested in the 2nd one that I ended up not needing. I prefer the large one, even for my small dog.

This is a really heavy-duty product that stands up to our dog's powerful chewing. She loves the toy and thinks getting her dinner in it is great. We got it since she would house her food so fast we thought she might choke or get bloat and it has definitely slowed down her eating.

Chose Hartz protection training pads because I have used them in the past and tried everything else and nothing compares.

They do hold the liquid and turn it into a gel like baby diapers. And the deodorize if you don't get to them right away.

I don't use them for training pads, i use them for everyday toileting for my little white Bishon. Keeps her and my yard clean, odor and bacteria free. And I am free to go out for the day and evening and know her needs are taken care of. Recommend them to anyone with a puppy or little dog.

Mini Retractable Dog Leash

I bought this as a back up leash. My rather more expensive brand name one is nearly 7 years old and still working well, but showing some signs of age. I prefer this type with the all belt leash rather than cord. It wasn't terribly expensive but seems to be well made.I haven't used it much yet .

I can either put up with incessant pointless barking or try to do something about it. The whistle does seem to have some effect on these dogs even though they are four city lots away. I have to be outside or have the window open, and blow the whistle as hard as I can. This is a nice, sturdy brass whistle. There's an adjustment screw that isn't well explained in the instructions, but I guess there's not much to it. I tried the dog whistle iPhone app, but it's harder to give the dog immediate feedback because you have to unlock the phone and navigate to the app before you can use it. I keep the whistle on a lanyard and wear it when the dogs are typically barking... 8 AM, 11 PM, or whenever a squirrel walks by... Note to neighbors: You're welcome.

I bought this product because of the great reviews. Tried it on my Border Collie that was subborn about coming when I called.

She is doing much better and now pays attention when I blow the whistle.

I've tried two other whistles by other companies in the past few years and this is the only one that seems to work. When they hear it, my dogs stop barking and look to me for the next command. I usually ask them if they want a "cookie" and they immediately come inside. Not the best obedience training but the whistle works.

people reviewing this product seem to have no idea its purpose is to train. Dogs do not instinctively come out of the womb thinking this sound means "stop barking" or "come" or anything else. The point of this is to train your dog to respond to commands at distance. If your dog is never more than 30 feet from you, or you don't care about yelling over distance and being just plain irritating to others, this whistle is not for you. If you don't intend to train your dog, and just want a dog that runs around and does as it pleases, this is not for you. Training whistles like this are for those that properly train their dogs, and are now able to trust them at further and further distances on outings, they are for bird hunters that need their dogs to be large distance away.

I can't stress enough that your dog doesn't know what you want if you don't train it sure, they will eventually pick up on some things, like "when i chew his shoes, he gets loud and intimidating and doesn't pet me all day" or "when he throws the ball, he gets happy when i bring it back" a 15 minute training session each day will get your dog trained! Training your dog will get him more attention from people, and you will lock him up less often, and he gets focused attention from you, which is all he wants other than food and shelter! Untrained dogs too often just lay about the house, taking up space in a bored existence until they eventually die, and you get a new dog that you never do anything with other than pat his head, feed, and take out to go bathroom. Dog training is not rocket science, I learned how to teach my 2 month old cocker the basic commands (sit, stay, down, go lay down, heel, etc) in 4 days using treats and a leash by just watching youtube videos. I trained my year and a half old golden to do all the same plus hand signals the same way. my two month old is already starting on advanced training (flushing game pattern, some light agility drills). All this is from youtube no complicated or expensive videos, no weird dog collars, and best of all, I have done it all without ever hitting my dog.

The moral: It's fun an addicting (having replaced my video game addiction almost completely) and your dog is happy!

Received the silent dog whistle quickly. Discovered that I needed to turn the adjuster out until it slunded to me like a high pitched whistle. This seemed to carry further according to our dog's reaction. We used treats to train her to come to the whistle. That went pretty quick. Still experimenting to determine the range. I don't think it is 400 yards but it is at least 100 yards.
