Herm Sprenger Steel Dog Training Collar, 20-Inch, Fine 2.0 Millimeter

Herm Sprenger Steel Dog Training Collar, 20-Inch, Fine 2.0 MillimeterIt works for showing but it is too thin to be sturdy enough for everyday use, especially if your dog ever pulls. I attach my leash so it doesnt choke and my dog snapped this chain within a week.

This product appears to be of good quality, but it is NOT a 20-inch collar, it's a 17-inch collar. At this reduced price, it is just cheap enough to make one reluctant to bother with all the repackaging, traveling to the post office, etc. involved in returning it. Small potatoes, but a rip-off, nevertheless.

Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Royal Blue

Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Royal BlueI had to buy three different sizes before I found the right fit. Even so, this harness tends to self-expand once it is on the dog / does not stay snug, which is essential for it to work properly. I have found I need to use a back-up leash attached to the dog's collar because the dog can slip out of the harness not easy to use 2 leashes! The harness does prevent the dog from pulling, but he has no trouble backing out of it, one leg at a time. Not as helpful a tool as I was led to believe, but maybe it will stay more secure as it ages. In order to make the harness snug enough, I have pinched the dog's skin more than once while securing the belly strap buckle so he is becoming leery of the harness. It is very awkward to adjust the chest and belly straps after the harness is on the dog.

This is the third Premiere harness I have purchased for my dog, a beagle. He pulls when we walk, or sometimes I need to pull him, and this harness allows you to do either move without hurting the dog. Since the harness fits around the dogs' chest and not his neck, there is no risk of choking and you can pull hard without causing them any pain. The small/medium size is also perfect for his size. I originally bought a medium, but it was too big.

Buy Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Royal Blue Now

Worked the very first time without any real training. When my dog started to pull on his lead, it would turn him around forcing him to look at me so I could give him a command. No choking involved. My dog is a Boston Terrier and full of energy. Now whenever we put the harness on, he doesn't even try pulling at all. Actually works better than his choke collar we originally tried. The straps are nice and thick and the clips are very strong. My dog was too small for the medium (which was available at my local pet store) and the size small had very thin straps. Glad I found the small/medium size online.

We have tried several different types of devises for our miniature schnauzer and we found the Gentle Leader to be the best fit for a high energy dog

Want Easy Walk Harness - Small/Medium, Royal Blue Discount?

I won't use a collar on my 3 y.o. mini LH Dachshund and have used a dozen harnesses trying to find the right one as he has a prominent breast bone. I have a drawer full. I even tried the head halti and even tho' he walked obediently, the joy was gone. With his nose to the ground he puts his shoulders into a chest harness and pulls like a sled dog! He also reacts by lunging if he sees other dogs walking, squirrels or a delivery person. So I thought the Gentle Leader Easy Walk harness would be the answer to all my prayers for my stout friend. I was thrilled to receive the Easy Walk within a few days of ordering. It comes with easy to read instructions. The straps are thinner than his previous harness. After sizing the harness with the many buckles and putting it on the dog, we were off! That is when I noticed the problems. The girth belt sits right under his arm pits and on the first pull he walked right out of the harness as his front feet are not too far from his shoulders!! I re adjusted the straps and when he pulled again, instead of him being forced to turn and face me, he got his leash hung up around his neck as the leash ring is right up under his chin. He just kept going!! With his short stature, as he trots along, the leash swings wildly at the clip due to his short gait and it bops him in the face. After several weeks of trying to get used to the leash being attached in front of him, instead of between his shoulders, I've come to the conclusion that he is just too short for this harness to work the way it is meant to. I got the small for his 16" girth according to the sizing chart. I wonder if the medium would work better? Back to the drawing board...

PS I do think this would be the perfect harness for a normally proportioned dog.

KONG Premium Treats Sweet Potato Vegan Treats

KONG Premium Treats Sweet Potato Vegan TreatsThis is advertised as being a vegan dog treat product, but it is definitely not vegan. Its Amazon title even has the word, "vegan" in it: "KONG Premium Treats Sweet Potato Vegan Treats". I ordered one of these, and gelatin is in the ingredient list. Gelatin is not vegan.

The product does not contain any animal "by-products" (rendered meat) and even says so on the package. I think that's what confused the person who labeled it "vegan".

Ingredients: Sweet Potatoes, Barley Flour, Brown Rice Flour, Maple Syrup, Vegetable Glycerine, GELATIN [my emphasis], Natural Flavor, Salt, Carrots, Peas, Phosphoric Acid, Sorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Natural Smoke Flavor, Mixed Tocopherols, Rosemary.

And if I were nitpicking, I'd say the Natural Flavor and Natural Smoke Flavor could also be non-vegan. I can't say for sure.

The use of acids in this is also a little weird. I don't usually see three used. And phosphoric acid isn't typically in dog treats, I don't think. It's just odd.

I also think it's odd that they used maple syrup, since it tends to cost a lot more than fructose syrup. I guess they suspect people avoid fructose syrup or HFCS. But maple syrup is just another sweetener, probably just as "bad" as HFCS.

Other info: "Crude protein: no less than 6.0%. Crude fat: no less than 1.0%. Crude fiber: no more than 4.0%. Moisture: no more than 28.0%."

Anyway, just wanted to chime in to mention that it's not vegan like the title says.

Hope that helps!

I e-mailed the company to clarify the source of the "gelatin" in this product. They responded that they use agar, or vegetable gelatin. In my opinion, they should make this clear on the packaging. I do think it is misleading to list gelatin, instead of agar, or vegetable gelatin.

Otherwise, my dogs like these treats and they are easy to cut into small pieces for training. Worked well for training my dog to walk on the leash without pulling!

PetSafe Agility 3' Closed Tunnel

PetSafe Agility 3' Closed TunnelI was having trouble with my 32# English Cocker with a fear of going thru the closed part of the tunnel in class. I got this up in minutes and before to long he was charging thru it like a champ. I can handle the tunnel by myself and it is easy to put up and take down.

I just purchased this for my Basenji Terrier and it took a short while for him to 'get it'. I used positive reinforcement training methods and incorporated it with Cesar Milan's methods and it worked great. I also purchased the Petsafe ring jump and he loves that, too. Thanks and I'll get the other Petsafe items after my dog masters the two that he has. :o)

Buy PetSafe Agility 3' Closed Tunnel Now

The PetSafe Agility closed tunnelor shoot is a little flimsey and is too long-

the dog gets caught in it. I folded the tunnel back some and it works bette.

The actual AKC standard shoot is actually much shorter than this is.

It will be ok for practicing in the yard.

My year-old small 9 pound terrier rescue pup is full of energy! The tunnel was originally purchased for those days that we were housebound to run off some of that energy, but she loved it so much that we signed up for agility classes. She plays with the tunnel whenever it is available. When I forget to compress the tunnel flat and put back into the handy carrier (which I love!) after a play session, I can find the pup curled up and asleep inside the tunnel with a favorite soft toy. A great purchase, well made, easy to store in its storage case with zipper closure and hours of energetic fun for dog and myself!

Viatek BC16G Super Bark Stop

Viatek BC16G Super Bark StopPEACE AT LAST!!!!! We have only had this for 4 days, but we are very happy. I ordered this because of RUDE neighbors who leave there 2 dogs(who bark and bark and.... they don't stop) out 24/7 is a dog run outside our bedroom window. Other neigbors have complained as well, they still won't do anything. After setting up the bark stop it didn't take long before they got the idea, they get 1 or 2 barks out then nothing :) I called the other complaining neighbor and asked if she heard the dogs "trying to bark" I told her that we bought super bark stop and hid it, she thought that was great.( now maybe we can enjoy a nice fall day with the windows open or working in the yard)

update 10/18 okay the real test came last night and again this morning. What was the test?? SIRENS!!! I just had to laugh, they couldn't bark and howl!!! All I heard was this muffled grumbling coming from them. I am so glad we bought this!!!!!

I bought this device in the hope of eliminating or significantly reducing the noise emanating from my neighbor's mutt. The offending dog is often left on the neighbor's porch, where it harasses just about every living thing that passes by.

Before ordering, I had read varying accounts of its range in terms of how close the unit must be to the dog in order to attain the desired effect. In my case, the neighbor's porch is about 35 to 60 feet aware from mine. Unfortunately, this was not "too close for comfort" as far as the dog was concerned.

Having read a number of very mixed reviews of this and similar devices, I was not overly optimistic about the prospect of it actually working. Alas, it did not. Some dogs just don't hear them. In my case, it was probably due at least in part to the distance.

My suggestion is to go ahead and pick up one of these devices if and only if you are within 20' of the target. If it doesn't work, go ahead and return it to the manufacturer for a refund (which is exactly what I did). By the way, you don't need an RA (AKA RMA) number to return the device. Just send it to the company along with your receipt, and a note saying that you would like a refund (not an exchange).

(...) I sympathize with anyone having this problem, and wish you all the best of luck. No one deserves to have their peace and quiet disturbed without good reason, and the argument that "dogs bark" simply does not hold any water.

I bought this bark stop because my neighbor has a pit bull that stays out 24/7 barking, and the shared fence is about 15 feet from my bedroom window. The dog barks so loud, there is no where in my house that I can retreat to for silence. I bought this super bark stop in hopes of quieting the dog. The dog is so stupid that it barks even more when the noise starts up. So we turned the volume up so that the neighors hear it too. That's what did it. As soon as the dog started barking and the alarm sounded, the dog was brought in. That was until the neighbor broke it with a broom stick so we are buying another one. Too bad for them.

Like many people, I have ignorant neighbors that allow their yappy mutt to bark on and on and on. Despite talking to the neighbor politely and such, they still have no concern for the noise pollution. I was losing sleep, and the barking was getting so bad that I even considered moving!

In desperation, we looked online for something to stop barking dogs. We came across Viatek's Super Bark Stop and decided to risk the money.

WOW, talk about being worth the money! My husband affixed the device on a piece of wood, and staked it about 5 feet high in our back yard. It's unsightly, yes, but we're the only ones to really see it. More importantly, it's RIGHT IN LINE WITH THE BARKING MUTT. The first time he tested it, he told me the dog about jumped out of its skin! We laughed gleefully. Could a good night's sleep actually be on the horizon...?

It's been several days and Super Bark Stop has worked AMAZINGLY. The dog will no lie as far as it can away from the device...when it usually lay in the middle of the neighbor's yard. If it starts to yelp a little, it stops almost immediately. It's as if it's afraid to bark. YAY!

You can select the volume, tone, and number of barks to help eliminate false activation (say, from talking or loud bird squawking). Audible and inaudible both work fine, but we now keep it on inaudible at the two bark setting.

The device is waterproof plastic and you need 4 D batteries (not included) to operate it.

I am SO thankful we found Super Bark Stop! My nerves were really getting jangled and I was dreading early mornings, when they put the mutt outside. It's amazing at how inconsiderate neighbors are; just because you may want a dog doesn't mean I want saddled with its noise while you neglect it!

P.S. After using Bark Stop for 2 weeks (yes, it did work!), we noticed that the neighbors dog started to bark a bit more. (Not as bad as before, though.) We had it on silent, and realized that it had stopped working. Apparently, it's not 100% waterproof, despite the claims of the manufacturer. The person I bought it from said that "once it's opened, we find that it's not 100% waterproof". Well guess what? You gotta open it to put the batteries in it! Either buy a faux bird house to protect Bark Stop or house it where it won't get wet. Otherwise, you may find yourself in the same position we were in. We got a refund, and fortunately for us, our neighbors got rid of their dog...so we didn't bother getting a new one.

FieldTrainer for Stubborn Dogs, SD-400S by SportDOG

FieldTrainer for Stubborn Dogs, SD-400S by SportDOGI own 2 SPORTDOG products (SD 400 and SPORTHUNTER 1200). I bought this brand because of their lifetime parts warranty. What I didn't realize is that they require the customer to return the unit for repair no matter how trivial the failure. Then they assess the minimum service charge (not less than $25.00) for parts costing less than $1.00 which the customer could easily replace themselves. They do offer to sell the parts to the customer at an exorbitant price if one would rather not return the unit for repair. This is very frustrating and disappointing. Don't put your trust in their warranty as I did.

I tried this on my Siberian Husky, he can be a very stubborn dog at times and has a high tolerance for pain. I set it on one and he didn't even flinch, I adjusted it to two and he reacted to that and followed my commands right away. I wouldn't imagine you would ever have to turn this all the way up for any dog, but it works great!

This thing really works. I got it because my previous collar used regular batteries and needed to be replaced weekly. I can leave the SD-400S charging all night and put it on my dog during the day. He has learned new tricks like "come" and "heal" since I got this collar. I have only used it up to level 3 and that's strong enough for a 80 lb lab. Hope this helps :-)

First of all, this is a pretty long review and I apologize for that. I've tried to break it down into sections so you can easily jump to what you most want to read about. I felt it's important to be a bit more verbose to explain my feelings about eCollars and I'm sure many will identify with where I'm coming from, so I hope this write-up is helpful to you.

WHY I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW

-------------------------------

I wanted to write a review on this collar because I think many other people may have the same views about ecollars in general and thought it would be good to share my comments and experience.

HISTORY ON ME

-----------------

A little history on me. I have worked with dogs for many years and am very comfortable doing basic obedience training with them. Actually, I love it and think it's the best bonding time with a dog and establishing pack order. The dog is kept busy...thinking...building trust in your relationship together and everyone is so much better in the end for that time spent.

WHY I PURCHASED AN ECOLLAR

------------------------------

I have traditionally felt that eCollars are bad and can seem abusive. So, this is the first time in my years of working with dogs that I actually gave it a try because I felt it is best to speak from experience and not ignorance on any topic. I have been working with two Beagles and what a great breed...totally hound dogs and their noses lead them everywhere. They can be very stubborn at times, but very loving in general.

I purchased the SD-400S primarily because I wanted a black collar and not a bright orange one..although I was a bit concerned about the higher stimulation level. I figured I could just keep it set very low.

Doing the traditional training I've always done, I've never really had a dog offleash except for in the enclosed park areas and other similarly very controlled confines. Normally, we go on very long walks all over the place and in new environments, but always on leash. I've always wanted to be comfortable having a dog offleash(in the right environment) and feel it's so much free-er for the pup. Some breeds need that more than others.

SD-400S EXPERIENCE WITH THE BEAGLE

---------------------------------------

Wow! So amazing... Truly it was like opening a door...or getting to the 'next level' with training together. TOTALLY does not break his spirit. *HOWEVER*, it is so very important that the handler show restraint and use the tool properly...which the very excellent booklet that comes with the device reinforces over and over(btw, the authors are totally Pavlov'ing us...lol). The intent is to set at the lowest possible level that the dog can feel and when used that way, it's simply like a small leash tug...but at 400 yards! Amazing. The fault with any failed training or 'bad dog' is always with the humans, in my opinion. And over-stimulating or setting too high, or TRYING TO USE THIS IN PLACE OF Basic obedience training...will surely cause problems and fail in the end. Remove emotions..focus on the dogs needs and responses and you'll both be so happy using this together.

...[Continued]

Tell Bell - (pink)

Tell Bell -After 6 months of consistent trying, our (admittedly a little slow) 10 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel still didn't get the hang of the Tell Bell. He knew the bell would be rung before the door would open, but he would always stand by the door and wait for us to help him ring it.

I think the main problem is it takes too much coordination for a small dog to strike the bell in the right place and with enough force to actually ring it (the button is about the size of his paw, and it doesn't make much noise unless it is pushed sharply straight down).

In the end we replaced the $25 tell bell with a $1-ish jingle bell tied from the door handle on a string, hung just above the ground. We put a treat right under the bell so he had to move (ring) it to get his treat, and one week later he is already ringing it on his own when he wants to go outside.

At least six months with the Tell Bell taught him what "Ring your bell," means, even if he couldn't actually do it ;-)

The Tell Bell has worked extremely well for us as we have used it for almost a year now. We have been so exceedingly thrilled with our Tell Bell that we have purchased numerous Tell Bells for friends! I've been truly impressed with the quality and innovative design specifically made for dogs, which makes it comfortable to ring. A cheap bell from the store was not designed for a dog's paw and seems like it would annoy their paw when they stepped on it. Bells that hang on the door are not as effective as they scratch and ruin the door and would make noise when you open it. Additionally, we found that watching the instructional DVD as a family helped us all to get on the same page with her training, and the booklet was helpful to refer to and review the training details.

Everyone who has visited our house has been so amazed that our dog rings the Tell Bell to go potty. I've even had a repairman who noticed the paw on the bell and couldn't believe that she would ring it to go outside, and he was so impressed when she actually did it! Initially, we started another potty training method, and then switched to the Tell Bell, so it did take our dog a little longer to figure it out. We just kept being consistent knowing that it would work. It took us at least 6 weeks or more; however, once she got it, she got it. Our entire family was filled with such joy when she finally figured it out! That joy remains with us every day as it continues to be so much fun to hear her ring the bell to go outside. It always brings a smile to our faces.

We have 2 Tell Bells, one at the garage door, and the other at the back door. We've successfully trained our dog to ring the bell at the garage door when she has to go potty, and the other bell at back door when she wants to go outside and play. It's convenient that each Tell Bell comes with 2 bells. Right after she learned to ring the bell, all of my kids walked out of the garage door to go play, and she whacked at the bell over and over again because she wanted to go outside to play with them. It was too funny! Through the consistent training that they teach on the DVD, she eventually learned how to use the bells properly. Our Tell Bells have also visited several people's houses and she has used them successfully, even in strange homes.

The Tell Bell works well! We give the Tell Bell the highest recommendation possible. It's a quality product with a remarkably effective training technique that has worked well for us, as well as the numerous people we have given it to as a gift.

We had relatives coming for a visit and their dog was coming with them. I asked if the dog was potty trained. She said yes and the dog uses a specially designed doorbell that sits by the door called Tell Bell. I have very nice doors that I did not want scratched and new carpet so I was not thrilled, but knew that the relatives were exceptionally clean people and would never let a dog stay in the house that was not "potty trained".

When the family put the Tell Bell by the door, I found it adorable! And sure enough, the dog hit the bell and went outside. No howling, no scratching!

Adorable! In fact, we offered to watch their dog while they visited elsewhere. We've bought a Tell Bell ourselves and it always makes our guests smile every time the Tell Bell rings.

We are told the people made the Tell Bell to stop sooooo many dogs from going into shelters. Many dogs go into shelters because the owners can not get the dogs potty trained. The people who made Tell Bell hope the Tell Bell would help keep the dogs out of the shelters. If you don't have a Tell Bell trained dog, then get it Tell Bell trained. You will never have a problem in finding someone to watch your dog. I wish everyone would do this so there would be less dogs at animal shelters. What a great fun way to love your dog even more.

I love this product in so many ways. How do I count the ways? This product is excellent in that you get two for the price of one, so one of the bells can travel or just stay at the sitters house, NO BATTERIES required! DVD gives instructions whereas many of the other products do not, no scratching ever on my doors, no barking or howling,

This was a great find for me....I was about to go on vacation and my dog, who has learned to ring a bell to got outside and potty, was going to join me on a trip. We'd been using some small windchimes on our French doors--we hung them low using a Command Hook (c) and it's always been a hastle trying to find a place to put them when we visit other places as I don't always remember to take extra hooks with me. I found this bell and it was an answer to my problem--and a bonus was that it included TWO bells PLUS a training DVD! Now, I have one bell by the door and the other bell stays in her "to go bag" ready for any trip that we might take next. This was a definate good find and the package was delivered in perfect timing for my trip. I will use this seller again!

Innotek Automatic No-Bark Dog Collar, BC-50B.

Innotek Automatic No-Bark Dog Collar, BC-50B.We bought this collar for our animal shelter rescued American Eskimo who barked ALL THE TIME. By barked all the time, I mean he barked and kept barking for 10 minutes or more. He barked at us, he barked at the other dogs, he barked at the cats, he barked at any noises inside or outside, he barked whenever someone walked in the door, he barked while he played and he barked in his kennel. The worst part was when he would start barking at 4 in the morning and not stop till we let him out at 8. For two months we tried everything we could think of, and everything a certified trainer could think of... with absolutely no luck.

The day I got it I rubbed in against a hard surface and touched the tips. I did that several times (to get it to go up as high as I could). It startles you a lot; it really doesn't hurt, even all the way up. If you do that yourself, remember to take out the battery so that it will reset down to the lowest shock level. It takes a couple of hours to reset itself back down, and taking the battery out and then putting it back in will restart it.

The first day I put it on my dog he barked up to the 3rd or 4th setting before he gave a yelp and stopped barking. It was the kind of yelp he does when he is rough housing with the other dogs; the yelp that says "okay, you win, I give up" NOT "I'm in pain". We used it every evening after work and through the night... for about 2 weeks. Now we might have to put it on him once a week for a couple of hours, just as a reminder. He almost never barks in the house anymore, and when he does it is just one bark and he is done. Periodically throughout the week when he is quiet (like when we walk in the door and he doesn't bark at us) we walk over and give him a treat, to reinforce the good behavior.

I think the product is great. I don't usually like products like this, but there are some dogs that just won't learn any other way. We rescued our dog from the animal shelter and his bad barking habit was already drilled into him... this was all we could do to fix it. Once your dog learns what happens it shouldn't take very long for him to realize that barking is not good... then just reinforce the good behavior when it happens. Hope this helps.

My wife and I both tested this on ourselves before we used it to train our dogs.

The level of stimuation is similar to the "hand buzzer" joke toys.

Dogs like to be good. This stimulation is far more humane than all the accumulated "Bad Dogs!" they would have gotten while we tried to train them out of thier natural behaviour.

It works pretty fast too. When the dogs were trained we removed the collar. When they reverted to barking we put it back on. Now we just have to show it to them and they quiet down.

Buy Innotek Automatic No-Bark Dog Collar, BC-50B. Now

I have 3 small dogs, two doxies and one peke. The dominant doxie would get the other two barking like mad. When she was in bark mode nothing would stop her and I've read and watched Cesar Milan (who I still love!) and tried so many techniques. Being very tiny, she could go thru almost any fence in our neighborhood and bark at squirrels, people in their own yards, whatever. She would not stop, would not come when called. She was in danger of being hit by a car because she would run down the road barking at passers by. I tried the citronella collar but the batteries ran out quickly, were expensive, and she wore the collar out in a short time. I've had these collars for a few months now, the batteries are still working, and I'm happy to say that my problem is finally SOLVED. The dog does not roam and run away from me when I call now that she cannot bark maniacally at whatever she pleases. She is a sweet dog but the barking was like an obsession with her! I highly recommend this product if you've had similar problems.

I bought this product to quiet my golden lab. He would sit outside and bark a very high pitched, excited bark, at everything all day long. If I went outside, he'd be quiet, but who has time to sit with the dog all day??

When this collar arrived, I put it straight onto the dog. He barked about 5 times, figured out he didn't like the result and has been quiet ever since. He's also alot less hyper than before. I suspect if I take the collar off, he'll remain quiet. But if he starts up again, the collar will be put right back on.

Excellent product!

Whole Life Pet Products Pure Meat All Natural Freeze Dried Beef Liver Treats for Dogs, 4-Ounce

Whole Life Pet Products Pure Meat All Natural Freeze Dried Beef Liver Treats for Dogs, 4-OunceThese are great because they have ONE ingredient; beef liver. That's it. Also, they are made in the US so I feel comfortable knowing that they are safe to give my dogs. And my dogs love them! One downside is that since they are freeze-dried, there are powdery crumbs that kind of coat all of the treats. If you've ever had that freeze-dried astronaut ice cream, you know what I'm talking about. Having beef liver "powder" on my fingers is a little unpleasant so I removed a star. Otherwise, I'm happy with these and so are my dogs.

Oh, and they give you a lot in the bag. Bag is resealable.

Dog like it and its a very healthy treat. I don't buy garbage treats filled with preservatives and artificial junk so this is a good price for a healthy snack!

Large Soft Claws for Dogs (Natural, 12mm x 7mm)

Large Soft Claws for DogsI have tried these recently after moving into a house with brand new wood flooring and two dogs. I thought that the soft paws would be the answer to easily keeping my floors looking new for years to come, but after using them for 3 months now I've given up. They are just way more trouble than they are worth.

In theory, it's a great concept. Soft little caps over the nails protect the floor. In reality, they are a hassle. I will say, they'll likely work well for you if you have an inactive indoor dog. They apply fairly easily, but getting the right amount of glue on is rather difficult. If you don't use enough, they'll fall off quickly. If you use too much, they'll never come off and glue will squeeze out the top and glue the dog's hair to the cap (tip: they hate this).

My two dogs are reasonably active, we go for several walks a day with a little on pavement (but mostly on grass). The big problem I've found is that for my dogs, the caps tend to wear through before they fall off. Either that, or they fall off and the dogs scamper around the floor before I notice. My dogs also love to chew at them which doesn't help (bitter spray did not deter them).

So basically, my floors still got scratched up somewhat because the cap would wear away exposing the nail, or the cap would fall off. Because the nails have to be long for these to adhere, when this happens there is a sharp long nail waiting to dig into your floor. In order to combat this I had to inspect their nails multiple times a day which was just a royal pain.

I'm also concerned about whether these are good for the dogs nails. When applied, they tend to make the nail longer and will contact the floor. I think this puts more stress on the dogs nails and isn't as comfortable for them as having the nails trimmed short. Also, when I removed them one of my dogs nails didn't seem to be in very good shape. Some of the nail I could actually peel away with my hands, and when I clipped her nails some sort of semi-soft material oozed out. I'm not an expert, but that doesn't seem like a good thing.

In short, they do work well but I think they are too high maintenance. If you have a passive indoor dog so that wear won't be much of an issue, they may work well. I'd recommend getting a color so you can easily tell if one is missing however. I've decided instead that the cost and hassle isn't worth it and I've ordered a dremel to start filing nails down smooth. With a combination of short nails that are smoothed over, the floors will be fairly well protected and the dogs should be much happier.

Snuggle Pet Products Snuggle Puppies Behavioral Aid Toy for Pets, Golden

Snuggle Pet Products Snuggle Puppies Behavioral Aid Toy for Pets, GoldenWe received a snuggle puppy right after our 8 week old labradoodle puppy arrived. While his first two nights were a little rough with whining, the first night with snuggle puppy he went to sleep in his crate with his mouth on her and slept all night. Five months later he wouldn't consider going to bed without his "puppy". We know he is ready to go to bed when he goes and gets her. In the morning the first thing he does is go back into his bed and get his "puppy" to bring downstairs. In times of stress (thunderstorms being alone, when his tummy was upset) he will go and get the puppy and just lie with her under his chin. Our snuggle puppy has been thrown in the wash weekly (we always redo the velcro after removing the heart), and washes up beautifully. Our big puppy is not terribly hard on his stuffed toys but we have not noticed any damage. As for the battery cost; The batteries do need to be replaced every three days if the puppy is left on most of the time. We turned it off during the day and got an extra day or two out each set. We usually would wait a night or two before replacing the batteries so that he would get used to there not being a continuous heartbeat. We purchased a lot of 50 batteries (ebay or amazon) for about $13. this lasted a little over 4 months. Now we just turn it on if he is in need of extra comfort, a new bed or when we travelled.

This little guy is amazing. I thought I was silly for getting this for my new 8 week year old puppy. As soon as I set it in his crate he buried his nose it in and feel asleep. The heart beat is so soft and gentle and for my Pom puppy the stuff animal is the perfect size to replicate his mother. If you are getting a puppy right from his mother this little guy is a must!

I have a new tiny, tiny Yorkie and she sleeps with her Snuggle Puppy every night! Sometimes during the day when her crate is open, she will get in and snuggle up to it. Never had any crying during the night! She sleeps until 6:30 every morning. Can't say enough about this product! Have bought another one for one of my friends!

I really wanted to love thisGREAT idea however the quality is poor. This thing goes through batteries at least once a day and on top of that our heartbeat gave out within the first 3 days. The heating packs barely warm up, hardly detectable heat. Save your money this just isn't worth it. If they improved the quality of the heartbeat/heat-packs I think they are really on to something here

Don Sullivan's "Secrets to Training the Perfect Dog" (SMALL DOG) w Fun Fetch Training Ball

Don Sullivan's 'Secrets to Training the Perfect Dog' w Fun Fetch Training BallMy husband has already made progress on the dogs walking

at his side without pulling. Still have more work to do but

so far so good.

I ordered this for my Sister, her dog is very small but super agressive and she could not seem to get her dog to behave. These DVD's and collar are REALLY working and so far she has trained her dog to get 'down' on command, it is still a learning process as she treats her dog as her baby and has trouble correcting her but I think the more she watches these DVD's, the more she will realize that it is important not only for her dog but for her, to train her to not be aggressive!
