Herm Sprenger Steel Dog Training Collar, 20-Inch, Fine 2.0 Millimeter

Herm Sprenger Steel Dog Training Collar, 20-Inch, Fine 2.0 MillimeterIt works for showing but it is too thin to be sturdy enough for everyday use, especially if your dog ever pulls. I attach my leash so it doesnt choke and my dog snapped this chain within a week.

This product appears to be of good quality, but it is NOT a 20-inch collar, it's a 17-inch collar. At this reduced price, it is just cheap enough to make one reluctant to bother with all the repackaging, traveling to the post office, etc. involved in returning it. Small potatoes, but a rip-off, nevertheless.

Ruff Riders Roadie Canine Vehicle Safety and Training Harness - Size Small1

Ruff Riders Roadie Canine Vehicle Safety and Training Harness - Size Small1The Ruff Rider seatbelt is great for my dog. It fits her well, and she doesn't have a problem getting into it. I'm very satisfied with this product. It's very high quality materials. I feel confident it will hold should something happen. Make sure you get the right size as there isn't a lot of wiggle room in the harness. The harness itself isn't adjustable. The straps that are adjustable aren't the ones that will hold your dog in the event of a crash. My only wish is that the lead on it that allows my dog to move around some be a little longer. But, perhaps this would negate some of the safety benefits.

I would have given this 5 stars, but since I have 3 dogs and noticed the variance in the production of those three, I took a star off. Two of the three let the seatbelt slide right into place, the third only fits on the shortest loop, which makes one dog a little unhappy at the loss of movement. Otherwise, not too hard to get on and off the dogs, though a lot harder than the Snoozer harness. But these seem sturdy, though (thankfully) they haven't been put to the test yet, and hopefully won't be.

Overall its a pretty good design, although it is more work to get on and off my dog than I think it should be. It fits my westie well. I would prefer to be able to use the d-ring rather than hooking through the tether loop. Not sure why they designed it this way, but the D-ring on the tether is supposed to be used to hook on a leash. I clip in a D ring from the anchor point in my back seat and feed through the tether as shown in Ruff Rider instructions.

I hope I never have to test this product, but if I do I feel confident that it will save his life. Dogs in carriers/crates will slam against the sides in an accident, I have a "car seat" for my small dog but didn't feel like it was secure enough. Now with the Roadie I know he is safe and secure if we are ever in an accident. Fits him great, nice and strong, no worrying about plastic or metal snaps and buckles to break. Best investment to keep my little one safe!

Our older, Australian Terrier has the ability to slip out of any harness, and if she can't, she appears miserable and uncomfortable. For a change, she seems to be comfortable in this harness, and she hasn't slipped out of it yet. Without buckles or flimsy stitching, this well-made harness seems to be just the thing for keeping our dog secure...I hope we never have to put it to the test.

Proper sizing is important, and the harness doesn't fit every dog, even with all the different sizes available. We have a smaller terrier with a thin, long neck and a deep chest. The X-Small chest was too small but the neck was correct; however, the SM-1 neck is too large, allowing her to wriggle through until the harness is around her pelvis.

UPDATE: We took the SM-1 harness for the smaller dog to an equestrian harness maker who reduced the size of the webbing forming the neck loop. The SM-1 now fits our smaller dog without slipping over her shoulders. Yes, it violates the warranty, but it seems to be a very rugged alteration.

4 IN 1 REMOTE CONTROL DOG TRAINING SHOCK COLLAR

4 IN 1 REMOTE CONTROL DOG TRAINING SHOCK COLLARI also use this collar on my Maltese, and it seems to be helping her behavior. So far, so good. Its simple, and it works. At this price, you can't beat it.

IMPORTANT:

For a while it seemed to only work intermittently, and I couldnt figure out why. Now I realize that it ONLY WORKS IF THE COLLAR'S LED IS LIT. AND THE LED WILL ONLY LIGHT IF THE DOG IS ACTIVE. The collar has some kind of motion sensor and it powers down when the dog is motionless. I keep her crated, and I'd put the collar on when she left her crate. But it wouldnt work. So be sure to SHAKE IT to make the LED come on before putting it on your dog. When the collar's LED is lit, the unit works great.

I have a very yappy Maltese and this collar has worked wonders! I can definitely tell a decrease in the amount of barking/growling since purchasing this collar. I love the vibration button, as my dog is quite small, which 90% of the time stops his barking without me having to actually shock him. My only dislike about the product is the quality of the remote. I have had this product only 3 weeks and the antennae on the remote is already broken. It still works but only in close proximity. I would still recommend this product, however, I would say try not to pull out the antennae unless necessary. Overall, great product!!!

Bought this for my 5lb pom. The vibrate didnt stop him from barking. I did not use the shock because I used it on my hand and thought it was too much for him. Also, the reciever is HUGE, its almost as big as his head. There is also the fact that you have to carry the controller with you and be quick at hitting the button. I was going to return it, but it would cost half the price to send back to California. I gave it to my brother for his 15lb yorkie. He did use the shock and when i visited him a week later, the dog who usually yaps like crazy WAS SILENT. Said he only needed to shock him twice. I need a smaller reciever and the ability to control the intensity of the shock. Unfortunately, those are more expensive. Otherwise, it apparently works great for my brother.

Very helpful for training. He really listens to the pack leader now. The vibrate feature works better than I expected.

We have two of these and when they're working, they work great. When we got the first set, they worked great for 2-3 weeks. After that, the shocks in both stopped working. They were replaced with no problems but after 1.5 weeks of using the new ones, the remotes went out. Very disappointed in the quality. We live out in the country and to have the remotes go out on you when a coyote runs through your backyard is NOT GOOD! Would either like my money back or two new sets that work and does not have to be returned for a third time!

Cardinal Laboratories Botanic Training Rewards Treats for Dogs, Beef, 3.5-Ounce

Cardinal Laboratories Botanic Training Rewards Treats for Dogs, Beef, 3.5-OunceMy dogs (2 Dachshunds, a Chihuahua and a French Bulldog) love these Cardinal Laboratories Pet Botanics Training Rewards beef and brown rice flavor, and their size (1/4 of an inch in diameter and 3/8 of an inch tall) in conjunction with their consistency (neither too moist, nor crumbly) makes them ideal for keeping in your pockets so that they are readily accessible when training your dog.

The primary ingredient is Pork Liver (beef is actually 12th on the list see below). Pork Liver is a nutrient-rich organ which provides your dog with protein, fat and vitamin A. It is also a good source of copper, iron, niacin, phosphorus and zinc. It provides many B vitamins, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and essential amino acids. Liver is of great benefit to your dog's health when offered in moderation (too much can lead to a condition called hypervitaminosis A, or an overdose of vitamin A). These little treats are a great way to add the benefits of liver to your dog's diet.

They are also great for crate training, too. Just give them to your dog through the crate door as soon as you put them in and eventually they will associate something good with being crated. Soon enough you can just toss 2 or 3 in the crate when you need to crate them and they will happily go right in. My dogs have their own room that their crates are in. When I open the door to their room they run and get in the crates sometimes quicker than I can put their training rewards in.

INGREDIENTS: Pork Liver, Pea Flour, Glycerin, Dried Egg, Pearled Barley, Brown Rice, Barley Flour, Tapioca Flour, Gelatin, Pea Protein, Salmon Oil, Beef, Sweet Potato Flour, Potato Flour, Phosphoric Acid, Natural Smoke Flavor, Flax Seed, Salt, Lecithin, Molasses, Chicken Fat preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, Potassium Sorbate, Garlic, Mustard, Iron Oxide (for color), Carrots, Natural Chicken Flavor, Mixed Tocopherols, Cranberry, Peppermint, Chamomile, Rosemary, Dandelion, Tomato, Blueberry

FYI According to the manufacturer's website and also the product packaging, these training rewards are MADE IN THE USA, have only 3 calories per treat, and contain neither soy, corn, nor BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin (artificial preservatives).

Ruff Riders Roadie Canine Vehicle Safety and Training Harness - Size X-Large

Ruff Riders Roadie Canine Vehicle Safety and Training Harness - Size X-LargePerfect. A sturdy car seat harness for for open SUV rear area or car seats for dogs. Once your understand how to put front feet in (bend wrist, up and through) and take the feet back out (elbow bend, back and out) to remove, it is great. Have 4 for 3 different sized greyhounds and one regular dog. HIghly Recommend. And made in the USA.

Good try, but it's a jumble to try to get it on. 1the instructions could be much better. 2It's painful to get on and off. 3 first time adjustments have GOT to be like alculus. Dog safety is important, ad I give the company credit for trying, but they hav got to make it much easier for man and beast to do mass marketing. Not that they're alone. War finally worked for me was a 2 part solution: aa cushioned leather harness and ba shortened nylon Leah attached to the rear seat belt. Easy on, easy off

Easy on and off over the head. Also easy to help our 130lb St Bernard out of the car without her jumping and possible injuring her joins. She gets her paws a bit tangled up when going from sitting to standing and rotating. All and all I would recommend this harness.

Do you see the photo of the product? Does it look like a jumble of straps to you? It does me too and trying to figure out how it works makes me want to scream. We have an 80 lb. dog and it fits like a loose cheap suit. (assuming I even have it on correctly)I kind of feel ripped off as I put one leg in and then pull that leg out and then put the harness over his head and then take that off and try a different way on and then look back at the photo on the package then move the buckle one way then the other then put both legs in then out....well you get the idea.

Easy Walk Harness - Medium/Large, Green Tweener

Easy Walk Harness - Medium/Large, Green TweenerI initially bought this product at a pet supply store in a large (the ones I've been to only carry S, M, and L.) Although I like the way my dog reacted to it, the large was way too big so I took it back and tried the medium but that was too tight. The packaging showed that there were in-between sizes so I came here to look and bought this. Although in my experience with this product it's not the cure all for the dog that pulls and lunges (my dog is young and still tries, but not as successfully as before) it helps substantially to control the dog without hurting it and with less effort on the human's part. It has made walking the dog less frustrating and more pleasant.

The only thing that I don't like is that fitting the strap across the chest can be challenging. My dog does not have that broad of a chest. There is sliding metal hardware to adjust the harness, but it leaves something to be desired since after a while it doesn't stay in place and it will need to be done again. This is more of a problem on the chest than it is adjusting around the girth. Premier needs to work on coming up with a better fit for a variety of dog builds. Like humans, some dogs are more wide around and have a smaller chest and vice versa.

Great product. works as described. Just make sure it is adjusted as per instructions. A must buy for dog owners

My dog is young and pulls a lot when walking with a regular harness, especially when he sees a squirrel or a deer. I just got this harness and went on my first walk with him and he stayed by my side or slightly ahead the entire time! He didn't pull once! I am so happy at how pleasant the walk was. My only concern about it is that it fits just a little weird. The bottom part has a clip that sits right behind his front "elbow" and I was concerned it my rub and be uncomfortable. He walks a little strange, but it doesn't seem to bother him, so it may just be me being a worried mom. Overall, I would recommend this product if your dog pulls at all on walks!!!!

We have two 80 lb young labs who could pull us down the street in a heartbeat. Harnesses that have the rings mounted between the dog's shoulders just encourage pulling This harness works as advertised. There's just no incentive to pull because it just doesn't have the desired effect. We view this as safety equipment for US more than the dogs!

My dog has short legs and a wide muscular body. This harness is supposed to fit dogs like that, but it rubs her legs in the front. I tried to adjust it, but can't seem to get it right. Maybe it's the adjustment, or maybe it is just not sized right. Not sure, but I can't use it.

Skip To My Loo attractant 125ml

Skip To My Loo attractant 125mlHope You Have Better Luck Than I Did. It stinks, and if it would have worked then I wouldn't have mind, however it stinks and it didnt work for my dog.

My elderly lab/Weimaraner mix has had an increasingly difficult time holding his urine. I bought him a big tray with fake grass but can't get him to pee there. At times, he lays down on it. I tried adding the Skip To My Loo Attractant and it made no difference whatsoever.

Midwest iCrate Single-Door Home Training and Travel Series

Midwest 1524 iCrate Single-Door Pet Crate 24-By-18 -By-19-InchIt sure is a good thing I checked amazon.com for dog creates before spending almost twice as much at a major pet store! This crate is perfect in every way. It's very well made and the price can't be beat. The bottom plastic tray can be easily removed for cleaning and the crate collapses very easily. It's pretty easy to open and close with the double sliding locking mechanism, and it comes with a partition so it can grow with your puppy. I can't imagine housetraining our now-five-month-old puppy without it! We love this create, and so does our puppy.

Update 1/2011: This crate is still standing strong and has proven itself to hold up against a strong dog, us bumping up against it, moving it, collapsing it, and cleaning it. It's perfect!

Update 10/2012: This crate is still holding up after several moves and a few dogs! It shows no signs of wear and still works perfectly. I'm pregnant and it's still very easy to use and move.

I watch my neighbor's toy dog everyday when I am not traveling. I like to tell people that we have a "joint custody" arrangement. She has a large crate at her home for the dog to spread out in, but since she chews on things (the dog, not my neighbor) I needed a little one for the times when I leave the dog alone in my house. Also, she needed a travel-sized crate for car trips.

When I found this dog crate on Amazon I was curious as to how well made it could be for such a low price (I got the smallest one, 18x14x12). When it arrived the next day I was really pleased with how easy it was to set up. No tools, no wing nuts, just lift the sides up and snap it together. It is perfect for my needs. Bella, a little Yorkie, is fully grown and can stand up in it just fine. I now have a fleece liner for it and sometimes she walks in there on her own and hangs out in her little house. I have added photos of her in the crate under "Customer Images". I am very pleased with this purchase.

I recently purchased the 42x28x30 crate for my 4 month old German Shepherd. He was quickly growing out of his smaller crate as he is already over forty pounds. I was unsure before ordering whether this would be a sufficiently sized crate for my dog when he is mature. I will tell you we joking call this his condo because it is huge. I am 5'3" and 110 lbs. and me and my dog could fit in this crate (we actually did lol!). Plus the free divider makes it great as a training crate. If you are considering a crate for a large breed dog like a German Shepherd, this is a great crate for your dog. It is also very sturdy and easy to set up. I am so happy that I saved money and got a great crate!

I bought this for my Chihuahua/Terrier mix, and she fits perfectly into the smallest size, with enough room to stand up. I put it together in 30 seconds, and it is very easy to use. However, the smaller crates come with only one latch, and my dog has now figured out how to open the gate easily, as the sliding bar only needs to be pushed out and to the left. (I have a video of this on Youtube, search for "johnnyma45" and watch "Izzy breaks out". We use a little suitcase padlock to keep the door closed. Overall happy, just wished the latch wasn't so easy to open by the dog.

This crate was a replacement for a "portable cloth crate' that I had for my "little re-decorating instigator". We absolutely need the crate because, he honestly feels that, it is HIS job alone, to inspect EVERY inch of our house, when we are not home. And even though HE won't admit to it in front of other dogs, he hates thunderstorms and firework. So, for US,,,The crate also comes in handy, when he "freaks" during a thunderstorm. Being in the crate during a storm, helps to calm him, and lessens the stress, on all of us involved. We only use the Crate, for short periods of time, when we are not going to be home I for one, don't ever suggest a dog be kept in a crate, for an entire day. It's just not a fair thing to do to a dog. If this is the case say while you are at work during the day, have a neighbor or somebody that you trust, come over and let the little guy out, for a short break, ***(like I said,,,,this is just MY opinion).

For us, the "portable Cloth Crate" was nice, and also very easy to use and to travel with. BUT,because our little guy has, the ability to use his arms, like a pro tennis star, he ripped the screening off of the inside of the front door flap rather quickly. To help remedy this situation, I purchased fiberglass screening, and stitched a new piece of screen, onto the inside AND the outside of, that zippered door flap. This new Flap, lasted for MAYBE a WHOLE, 3 months. It was then that, I knew that, the little fella was on his way to an escape of EPIC proportions! And that, my somewhat, neatly kept home, would soon become, a dreadful mess! Why? He will come up with all sorts of stories,,,,his favorite chewy or toy, or something of that nature, could not be found (blah, blah, blah,,,he has a tendency to over exaggerate on what REALLY took place, while we were away ;o} ) All to often, this would, necessitate in him absolutely NEEDING to getting out of that crate, and finding "it", by himself. Of course this is showing us undying love, simply by saving US the trouble, of having to help HIM, in finding it! He's smart,,,what can I say, but his stories and excuses are getting a bit ,,,well,,,,"used" up and old. As I said, it was only a matter of time, before the next escape came,,,tick,,,tick,,,tick went the clock.

And so, this brings us to THIS wonderful All METAL crate! Not only was it fairly inexpensive, but very stealth as well, for a larger dog crate. And, that is because, since the crate itself folds and ships flat, it can be folded back into it's original, small, flat, compact size in no time. Leaving it perfect for, extremely ease of use, when packing for travel. It ships in a flat box, it folds back into, a rather flat format. Just lay down the ends, and then the sides, in their easy to figure out format, and it folds up, all while leaving the plastic tray, inside of the crate. Once you have it folded up, just place it on the bottom of your trunk. Then, you can place your other items, right on top of it. Luckily for me, it was actually a bonus that I had tried the cloth crate first,,,and here's why: If you have one of these, DON'T THROW IT AWAY! Take the measurements of your CLOTH crate, and then find a similar size metal crate. Because of the way the soft crate was made, it had large zippered end panels. Because of these, I was now able to put the metal crate INTO the soft sided cloth crate, and make the metal one somewhat "camouflaged", in my living room. Plus with the cover over it, it makes him less afraid of the thunder storms. And because the soft one came with a awesome carry bag, I used the carry bag, to store and carry, the folded up metal crate when traveling nothing went to waste on the soft crate, except that darned screen door (which I cut off)!

The metal crate itself, is a much better, and much needed, totally WONDERFUL, well made piece of doggie equipment! it's a solid and safe place for your pup when you cannot be there for him. The sides lock into place, the door has a sliding latch that stays in place,,,it really is just an all around great crate to keep our little "Houdini re-decorator", in a safe spot, when we cannot be home with him, or take him with us .

***HINT for sizing*** depending on WHAT "Dog Expert" you are listening to, on that particular day,,,, all too often, they suggest a crate that keeps your dog somewhat cramped area. We liken this to be: sort of like a "Goldilocks Fortress" not too big and not too small. Our pup is a Sheltie, he stands about 15 inches at the withers, and weighs 17 pounds. The 30x19x21 was really a perfect fit for him, because we like him to have the ability to stand up, stretch a bit and turn around as needed. To us, it is just seems very mean, to stick a dog into a box, that they cannot move in. Simply because, this type of small spaces, it can cause cramping and make the dog, to become, leery of the crate. Which can then turn into: your pup, not wanting to use his crate, at all. And really,,, if your dog is a snooper, isn't it better to keep him safe when you are not home? We have tried all sorts of different sizes for different dogs over the years, and we have found that, Get a crate that they can move around in and you will find a happier dog when it comes time for: "In the Crate". And, because this one is collapsable, it stores away easily if needed, so you don't necessarily SEE the extra size, when it is not needed; (the plastic crates that come apart, only store inside of each other, and take up a lot of real estate in your home or car. So, yes, I would highly suggest this crate. In the end, I give it four stars because, it would have been nice to have a carry bag come with it, for ease of use when traveling. I still love it though! Good luck!
