Amtek Scraminal

Amtek ScraminalI had high hopes for a product that would keep my dog from grabbing things on counters, table tops, etc. The vet recommended this product as a way to correct the dog, without the dog seeing you as the source of the correction. That way the effect would not depend on your being present to stop the undesired action.

The Scraminal was totally ineffective for this purpose. To point out a few problems:

1) This device emits a LOUD audible signal enough to really bother human ears, but it didn't really have any effect on my dog.

2) There's no way to set Scraminal up "secretly". As soon as you turn Scraminal on, it starts screeching because you are too close to it. The dog immediately knows that you are the one responsible for the correction.

3) It covers too wide an area. If I set it up on the kitchen counter, for example, it detects motion and screeches whenever anyone enters the kitchen not very practical.

4) Maybe some animals would be frightened of the noise and stop the undersirable behavior, but certainly not all. My dog grabs the Scraminal and runs around with it in his mouth. All the while, the thing is making its horrible noise. I guess it's a pretty fun toy for him! But as a training device, I rate it a waste of money.

The Scraminal has been a greatly needed deterrent for our dogs who would NOT stay out of windows ! We only have to say the word scraminal and it turns them away from their direction of the windows. Occassionally we have to actually turn it on to "remind" them of the very loud audible noise it emits. We do not keep it on all the time at all, due to it going off when cats go near it. Still going strong with it though ! Actually decided to leave a review because I am gonna buy a couple more for outside and saw the negative review. NOTHING before this worked ! Our one particular dog has an aggressive nature to protect the house, the other just follows suit. We actually can use it for more than just the window. Just say the word, and they stop ! We turn it on when we are not home, also. Smart dogs! So for anyone that nothing else has worked, give it a try ! It has given us sanity again. Keeping the dogs more sane also !

I can't give this thing a high enough rating.

We have a puppy, and some time shortly after we got her she concluded that the reason our living room has corners is so that you have somewhere you can poop when you can't find Mommy or Daddy and get them to let you outside. Or when you don't want to find Mommy or Daddy. Or when it's Tuesday.

And we tried everything, I swear. My wife and I both have some experience training dogs, and we did a lot of the usual stuff, both positive and negative reinforcement, but we just couldn't shake her of her living-room-is-for-pooping habit. She's a well-trained dog, actually, and today she's an AKC-Certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC), but back over the summer we just couldn't shake her of her bad habit.

Finally, in a fit of frustration after having spent hundreds of dollars on cleaners, I bought a few different beepers on Amazon all at the same time. I tried each one for a few days. And this is the one that worked -and it worked on the very first day.

For the record, this didn't do much to deter our cats (one cat just flat-out ignored it, and the other concluded that she had to run very fast past it to avoid it "seeing" her -and, of course, it beeped at her every time). If you're buying this to keep your cats away from things, best of luck to you. I've debated trying to use it to keep our cats out of the kitchen sink at night, but I'm pretty sure it would have no real effect on them.

But with our dog -now that's a whole different story. On the very first day it scared her away from the living room. By the end of a week, she had learned exactly where it was protecting, and she had learned not to cross that line. By the end of a month, we turned it off, because we hadn't needed it for quite some time.

For the record, this gizmo does not beep: It screeches like your house is being stolen. That's great if you want to keep pets out of a room, and believe me, it works -but not so much when you're trying to sleep. So if there's one bad thing I can say about this, it's that cats + Scraminal + 3 AM = a very bad night's sleep. And I'd be careful of using this in an apartment where you have thin walls.

Still, the thirty bucks I spent on this little gizmo managed to beat out hundreds of dollars I spent on cleaning and hundreds more for dog training. We were looking to buy a major multi-year investment in the Nature's Miracle Pet Cleaner company before I bought the Scraminal, and now I can't even remember the last time I scrubbed the carpet.

As I write this posting, the Scraminal is out of stock, which is sad, because it's worth its weight in gold. If you have a dog, and this comes back into stock, buy one. Seriously. Do it before it's sold out again. And, for the record, no, I won't sell you mine.

Have 3 different type alarms including the Scraminal. The Scraminal is the most effective in keeping my cats away from areas. It emits a loud alarm that leaves a long lasting deterrent. I only use it in areas that will not activate it with regularity by the family as it is loud.

Bought it to keep the cat off the counter almost 5 years ago. It worked great at that time...actually was able to put it away after about 6 months. Got it out a month or two ago since a new kitten won't stay off the counter...and it still works great. The dog hates the high pitch screeching, so I can see how it would work great for dogs too. The only bad thing is when I set it off myself & it scares the heck out of me. Would definitely buy again & recommend to others.

But this box is only 19 lbs. not the 20 lbs. advertised in the product description. In the past they were 20lb. boxes ....now there's a little sticker covering the 20lbs printed on the box and it states there are only 19lbs!....wish they would lower the price as well. Good cookies though and they love them....

Petsafe PDT00-13625 Elite Big Dog Remote Trainer

Petsafe PDT00-13625 Elite Big Dog Remote TrainerAn underground fence does not make sence when you own 13 acres. This devise is wonderful for calling in the dog when she gets on the scent of a rabbit. We seldom use the shock part of the controller but use the sound part all of the time.

In my opinion, this is a must have for dog owners.

I got this product from Petsmart and paid closer to $200...I wanted to actually talk to someone about the product as I wasn't a believer in it.

After some debating I decided to get this product for my pet as she was a rescue with absolutely no manners. Before owning this product the dog had seen several trainers to work on her behaviors, such as biting, jumping, pulling on lead, garbage raiding, and peeing indoor. Also, we have tried walking her for 45mins 1hr a day to burn energy with no positive results AND tried a dog day care where she was soon kicked out of because she "didn't play well"....but that's a whole different story.

The instructions for the product say to pick 1 problem and work with it as to not confuse the dog. So, I picked the most troublesome problem at the time which was biting (the dog was slowly getting better with house training so I felt no need to use this on her for that).

Well, it has worked miracles. My dog is so much better behaved after just a month of use and even my family members and friends comment on how much better behaved she is.

With the collar you get the option to select levels 1 15 for the "static shock". I started at 1 and worked my way up until I got a response from the collar. I found that for my 45lb dog that 6 works best. It seems to be just enough to stop her from what she was doing, but not nearly enough to make her yelp. IF YOUR DOG YELPS YOU HAVE THE SETTING TOO HIGH!!!

I've read reviews about battery life not being good, but I last charged the collar and the remote a month ago and the remote still reads full battery and the collar is still blinking green (to indicate it's on and charged).

The collar is supposedly waterproof, but I personally don't know with that. The collar goes on like a belt with a pin through a hole, but it also has your traditional clip that plugs in. This is great because once you find the right size for your pet, you can just unclip it when you want to take it off and simply put it right back on without having to adjust the size. This allows for you to quickly and easily take it on or off.

I always wonder if the collar is uncomfortable for the dog (even when it's not zapping), but my dog falls asleep next to me on the couch with it on as if it's not even there. She doesn't scratch at it or anything, so I just have to assume it's not that bad (she put up a much larger fight with those silly elizabethan collars -the "cone of shame")

If you are having issues training your dog, this may work for you. I know not everyone thinks they're a good idea. I've tried it on the number that it's set to for my dog (6) on my arm and it was more of a nuisance shock and not like a taser which is what most of us think of.

I reccomend this product to anyone that is having issues, maybe not as a first resort, but this is certainly able to work if you use it and it will lead to a much happier pet and owner in the long run. For example, now that my dog behaves much better she gets to spend more time hanging around the family instead of in a crate and she gets to be in the kitchen while we're eating because she no longer jumps all over the place.

If you were to ask my dog, I would think she'd say she is happier now that we all get along.

About 9 months ago, I bought my first Vizsla puppy. I've been told that e-collar training is a must for sporting dogs. I was talking to a couple trainers, and they considered this a cheaper collar. I was thinking about spending somewhere in the $50 range, but I'm glad I got this one. I have a couple friends who have cheaper collars, and they've had a handful of problems. This one is easy to recharge, it seems to hold it's charge for quite a while, it's easy to take on and off, and I've had a good overall experience with it. I'd recommend it to anyone. I use it primarily when we go running in the woods and when I take her to the beach. It's really nice to be able to take her off the leash once in a while to let her run.

PetSafe Ultrasonic Remote Trainer for Dogs and Cats, PUPT-100-19

PetSafe Ultrasonic Remote Trainer for Dogs and Cats, PUPT-100-19I have a miniature American Eskimo dog who hadn't been socialized well as a puppy and tended to be aggressive around strangers and other animals because of her own fear. We've worked hard to rehabilitate her and she's come a long way, but is so anxious that she still barks like crazy when a stranger appears, the kids downstairs are playing outside, the dogs next door bark, or when the doorbell rings (even on TV!). Once she goes into that "red zone," her eyes glaze over and it takes 20 minutes to calm her down. We bought this remote trainer in the hopes that it would stop the anxious barking.

Oh. My. Gosh. Her reaction was almost immediate! The next time she started barking, I hit the button once and she perked her ears up, stopped barking, and ran to me. I was shocked. We tested it again by ringing the doorbell, and this time it was one little yip, then she went and laid on her bed. (Wha?!?) It was amazing. I guess the noise distracts her enough to pull her out of that anxious mode and reroutes her brain so she doesn't work herself up. It even seems to work on the agression. When she growled at my husband because he sat on the couch next to me, I hit the button, she shook her head, then ran up and licked him. Wow! It's like a magic remote control, and we rarely even have to use it anymore. She's learned quickly what behavior we want, without yelling at her. Now we're focusing on curbing the aggression towards other dogs, and getting her to come when called, though I haven't had to use the remote yet. It's definitely progress! She's become visibly more loving and happy now that her mind doesn't put itself into that anxious cycle too often.

Now, that being said, I think this will only work for SOME dogs. My mom tried it on her Golden Retrievers and they just kept barking, ignoring the sound completely. I think it will work best for dogs who are especially sensitive to sounds, and from what I've heard, smaller dogs seem to be more of this type. So I'd suggest borrowing a friend's or getting the $10 "Bark-Off" at Bed, Bath and Beyond first to test out the idea of sound training. If your dog responds to it, then spring for this remote. I'd say it's definitely a great tool if your dog responds to sound!

I love this thing. I purchased mine through Petco in an attempt to correct my cat's bad behaviors. He would wake me up at 3 in the morning pawing on the blinds trying to get outside, claw at the furniture and occasionally become aggressive. One quick press of the button, even if I am in another room, causes him to instantly stop his annoying behaviors! This thing has definitely allowed me to get better sleep. A great device for cats with behavioral problems!

Buy PetSafe Ultrasonic Remote Trainer for Dogs and Cats, PUPT-100-19 Now

First off, it's a tool. You have to use it as part of your training. Otherwise it won't work. You can't expect it to change the dog's behavior right away. I made this mistake.

I have 2 dogs. A poodle and an aussie. My aussie really took to the device. She was very sensitive to the remote trainer. My poodle is very thick headed. He doesn't understand half of the things I try to teach him unless it involves food. So, it worked for the aussie, but not for the poodle. You just gotta find out what works best on your dog. You know if your dog is trainable or not.

As for what you hear, you can hear one tone, quietly and very high pitched. The other tone you can't hear at all. I can't remember which tone (positive/negative) was which, tho. It also takes a 9 volt battery.

My dog definitely heard the remote she would stop for a very brief second, look at the remote with her ears perked up, then go about whatever it was she had been doing. It did nothing to discourage negative behavior.

I bought this product at a local Petco, hoping it would shut up the horrible barking dogs our neighbors refuse to control. I brought it home and pointed it first at my own two dogs. One dog (at a distance of only about 5 feet) had no reaction at all; the other dog just perked up his ears and then went about his business. Outside, the neighbor dogs didn't even respond to it (not even a flick of the ears) and our dogs just ignored it totally.

Our cat, however, FREAKED OUT and clearly heard the noise.

Great for cats, very, very ineffective for dogs (at least the four I tested it on).

Don't waste your money.

Thundershirt Dog Shirt

Thundershirt Dog Anxiety Treatment - Navy Blue RugbyI have 3 Jack Russell dogs that have their phobias about different things. I initially got it for my "alpha" of the dog pack who can be aggressive at times. I put this on him as directed, it is VERY IMPORTANT to introduce it to them correctly per the directions. Within 10 minutes he falls asleep... each time. Needless to say the other 2 Jack's have one of their own as well. I have washed them several times and they hold up well to that also. I ordered them for my Mother's 2 dogs and my Mother-in-Law's 2 dogs also. They all rave about this shirt! I have spent thousands on training, meds, behaviorists, etc.-none of which have worked. This was worth every penny!!!

I wish I could write two separate reviews. The shirt itself gets 5 stars. It's very high quality and I like that all the velcro sections are covered by more fabric so my dog isn't catching herself on the carpet, couch, etc. It was a bit difficult to put on with the different flaps, but the directions did a good job of explaining the process.

The first time we put this on the dog, she stood frozen for 10 minutes, like in other reviews. She seemed better when we got her moving by taking her for a walk. We even put the shirt on her when we had a BBQ so she would feel less anxious about all the people, noise, etc and it seemed to work. However, she started to get scared of the shirt and would run away the next time we tried to put it on her. This bring me to the second part of my review:

The customer service gets 0 stars. I tried calling them 3 different times at the number given on their packaging. I got a recording telling me to leave a message and that my call would be returned within 24 hours. Well, they never called me back even though I tried calling 3 times. I needed help for getting my dog not to be afraid of the thundershirt but they wouldn't even return my calls. So now I've spent all this money on a product I can't even use and it has the opposite effect from what's intended. It causes anxiety instead of reducing it.

Buy Thundershirt Dog Shirt Now

The claims for this shirt sounded dubious to me, but I was desperate for a non-medical solution. My dog gets terrible anxiety during thunderstorms: trembling, panting, whining and scratching. For the two times I've put it on her, she has immediately calmed down. Recently, she woke me in the middle of the night shaking and panting. I put the shirt on her and she crawled under the covers and went right to sleep. No more panting, no more shaking. I kept the shirt on her for about 45 mins and took it off as I thought it might be too uncomfortably tight. She slept through the night with no more issues. I don't know how or why, but the shirt has worked for me thus far. The shirt is worth a try! FWIW, my dog is a senior, female Chihuahua.

My dog HATES car rides. She paces and pants the entire ride when we go on long trips. It is not only uncomfortable for her, but it is irksome to me as a driver because she won't stay still. We bought this shirt based on the other reviews and it does seem to reduce her panting. Mind you, she isn't cured where she lies down and sleeps (which would be ideal) but she is better, the panting is quieter and she seems a bit more calm. I recommend giving it a shot

Want Thundershirt Dog Shirt Discount?

I have two dogs, a 14 year old dachsund who is terrified of thunderstorms to the point we are afraid she'll have a heart attack during one; and a 4 year old Cavalier that has some separation anxiety issues.

I put the shirts on them during non-scarey times first, as recommended. They both went and laid down; fell asleep. Seriously chilled out. I've done this several times with the same result each time. I put them on them before I left the other day and I'm not sure it helped Spenser too much, though his incessant barking seemed a little less...but he still rumpled up my bathroom rug so I guess he was still upset...but he did seem MUCH calmer when I came home; no jumping and running around barking...just happy to see me.

Today is first test of the shirt during a thunderstorm, and it is not a really bad one, so maybe that's a good thing for the first try...I noticed the sky getting dark and immediately put the shirts on them...both went under my desk and fell asleep. As the storm got worse; few big rumbles of thunder, some lighting and real heavy rain Molly got up, looked a bit anxious...but no panting, no trembling, just concern. She laid down in the floor and is now snoring. I'm sold. Try it...what's the worst that could happen?

I'll report back in a month or two as storms are more frequent and let you know if its still working, but I'm amazed so far.

Tinkl Belts, Size XS (10-14" waist)

Tinkl Belts, Size XSI ordered this item because my dachshund puppy doesn't quite have full control yet which led to a pee-pant-car-head-hung-in-shame moment one day. After looking at a lot of wraps, this one comes in the most sizes, is discrete, and solidly constructed. I am very pleased with the product. The outside is a durable denim and the inside is a soft flannel and is held in place with a large patch of velcro. When I put this wrap on my dog he pulled at it a bit a first, but after spraying it with bitters apple no-bite spray once, he left it alone and all was good.

Taking their advice, I put a panty liner in the wrap to catch leaks and this worked well for submissive peeing (something we're also working on) after a few mistakes on my part to figure out how best to place the pads. I tossed them in with the rest of the wash afterward and they were good to go.

He doesn't wear them all the time, just when needed, but when needed, they're good to have. These boy dogs are all new to me and tinkle belts helps! :)

Just wanted to put in a word that I think this is a great little business with exceptional customer service. All the hoo-ha is true about these little belts and the superb customer service is right on the ball:) Would definitly recommend.

This tinkl belt definitely is a furniture and time saver. I would run late to work every morning from stepping in a puddle of pee or having to constantly throw a rug into the washer. Putting aluminum foil everywhere around the house to prevent marking wasn't aesthetically pleasing to the eye either. The XS belt fits perfectly on my 3 lb yorkie. I add extra protection by putting a sanitary napkin on the belt. I get to work on time now, have clean furniture and a new marking-free dog without all the expensive training!

Himalayan Dog Chew, Small 3.5 oz

Himalayan Dog Chew, Small 3.5 ozMy dogs liked this treat ok. It was something for them to chew on besides my furniture. They did last a couple of weeks in a house with 3 small dogs. My only complaint is they leave a milky residue behind. It was very hard getting it out of their beds.

$1500 later......please learn from my experience and DO NOT buy these Himalayan Yak chews for your small dog. I have a 14lb Shih Tzu who is a chewer and we were turned on to this product by our local high-end dog retailer (Mud Bay). While the packaging does have some warning about when the chew gets small.....I have to say it's near impossible to babysit your dog's chewing. A piece of this company's yak bone did in fact get caught in my dog's esophagus and we incurred some SIGNIFICANT bills to retrieve the item through endoscopy. Not to mention all the pain and suffering my dog went through all because of a product he's supposed to chew on/eat. It's just not worth it. The chews in the package are smallish and you'll have to end up throwing nearly 1/2 of it away because it will become a choke hazard for your dog. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!!!! I hope my review helps you steer clear of this product!

Got this for our 4 month old Frenchie and she loves it! I only let her chew it for 15-20 min per day. I noticed if she chews it longer than that she doesn't seem to enjoy it anymore (like a kid that gets unlimited candy on Halloween, they'll keep eating it, even if it's making them sick). It also gives her bad gas : But she loves it so much, so I deal with it. Each piece lasts about 2 weeks when I give it to her on a limited basis.

One complaint small pieces flake off sometimes, making a mess on my rug. I always put a sheet down before I give it to her. Oh the things you do for your dog...

You can find this for less on other websites.

My new 2 yr old, 8 lb. rescue Chihuahua really loves these chews. It takes her 3 hrs of real chewing to finish one. It like it because it's not dangerous like rawhide. My only concern is the noise when she's chewing on it. I'm not sure if it's the chew or her teeth that are "crunching". It really sounds like her teeth are cracking. She's quite the chewer. Everything else either sounds dangerous, like rawhide or crunches up too fast, but is safer. Anyone else have the breaking glass sound? I worry about her teeth and as much as I would like to buy them again, I may not.

Zuke's Z-Bones Natural Edible Clean Carrot Crunch Regular Dog Dental Chews, Pack of 8

Zuke's Z-Bones Natural Edible Clean Carrot Crunch Regular Dog Dental Chews, Pack of 8The Z-Bones Dental Chews are great! I was looking for a dental chew that both of my dogs would like, in addition to being a healthy and effective chew. I have a Sheltie and a Chihuahua (they make a funny couple), and while they are not super chewers like Labs, they do like to chew (including the Chihuahua surprisingly!). Well, both dogs loved these chews. They liked the smell and couldn't wait for me to open the re-sealable plastic bag, which was inside the box, keeping them fresh. Both dogs got right down to chewing the bones and the Sheltie finished his in one sitting, while the Chihuahua almost did! Even the piece of the Z-Bone that was left (about a 1/3) was finished by the Chihuahua in a couple of days. It was also nice that the Z-Bone lasted quite a while for both dogs, rather than disappearing in just a few minutes. I just thought I would share my experience with other dog owners, since I have appreciated the feedback provided by others on different products, which has resulted in great purchases, helping me to avoid poor choices and saving me money. Thanks!

I purchase the Zuke's Z-Bones for my dog Cody and he loves them. The reason I get these particular bones is because Cody has Lymphoma and is on what is called a 'cancer diet', which one of the main problems in finding a treat that is compatible for this diet is finding one that is grain free and thankfully Zuke's supplies a no grain treat for my pet that also helps his teeth, wonderful product, and most of all he LOVES them. He gets one per night and come close to ten every night he sits in front of the shelf they sit on until he gets his Zukes!

Today was the first day we gave our 5 month old puppy one of these. She LOVED it! It was like giving a baby a bottle, she just laid with it for a 1hr/20mins (yes we time treats here for longevity, Maggie is a heavy chewer haha) and was in heaven. Would definitely recommend. A lot of her 'big' treats dont last more then 5/10 mins, so I was not expecting anything much longer, these were a great surprise. I know she's a little young for them per packaging rules but I took the chance because she tries to eat crazier non-edible objects then these. My only gripe is the price is a little high per bone BUT they are made from great ingredients and last awhile. I have tried many Zuke's products over the years and have always been very happy. I will keep ordering them for sure.

:::::UPDATE::::: Okay, shes figured them out and only last about 15 mins but they are still great!

Grizzly Salmon Fillet Treats for Dogs and CatsThese are my dogs' favorite treats. They love salmon and they love these salmon treats. My dog loves salmon. As soon as I opened the box, I could smell the treats without opening its package. My dog loved them, but they smelled so fishy, I could hardly tolerate giving them to my beloved fur baby. I put them in a freezer baggie and kept them in the freezer to tolerate. I wondered if they were healthy since good fresh fish does not stink like these treats do. Would not re-order these smelly treats.

Treatstik Small Blue Meal And Treat Dispensing Dog Toy

Treatstik Small Blue Meal And Treat Dispensing Dog ToyI own the large Treatstik (9.75" long), and the small (6" long but with the same size treat dispensing hole). The large holds up to 1.5 cups of treats or kibble; the small ½ cup.

Both are well made of thick, hard, sturdy nylon that is smooth, with no sharp parts. Even the hole treats are dispensed from has smoothed edges. I have not used either size long enough to speak to how long it would last. I can't say what a stronger/larger jawed chewer than mine would do with it, but this toy is so sturdy and well made that I fully expect that it would last for years with my dogs. I bought the large to feed my 50lb. border collie one of her 2 meals a day of dry kibble. It both entertained her and slowed down her too-rapid eating. She did not seem too interested in chewing on it, mainly just knocking the food out (which occupied her for quite a while, but was not so hard to do that she became frustrated & felt the need to chew it open). She worked on it quite vigorously, pawing hard at it and knocking it into furniture. So I toss throw pillows or towels in front of certain furniture legs, etc, when I use it inside.

I've bought several treat/food dispenser toys, but this is the only one I've continued to use. Unlike the others, both sizes of Treatstik are very easy to fill through its large opening; even my sore hands can screw the cap on/off easily; cap stays on while my dog plays with it; and it's very easy to wash by hand, or it's dishwasher-safe.

Note that the Treatstik website says it is not for "toy" dogs: the hole that dispenses the treats is by my measure approximately 3/4" long by 1/2" wide oval. The small size has the same size hole. So in my opinion a dog might be a bit safer if she has lower canines farther apart than ¾".

The large size also works fine with my 14lb mini poodle, and she loves it (I supervise her with it, and her lower canines are wider than the hole). She rolls it all around, pawing at it & nosing it until she gets as much kibble out as she can, then looks to me to shake the rest down to the narrow end so she can work on it some more. I have to shake it down several times for her to get it all. So I bought the smaller size for her, thinking that she would be able to pick it up & tilt it to shake the last remaining bits of kibble down to the dispensing hole, which she cannot do with the large size (too big even at the narrower end for her small mouth to pick up). But she still can't pick up the fatter end of the small one, which is where she would need to grasp it to tilt it to get the food to fall down to where the hole is (she frustrates easily & won't experiment with more creative ways to tilt it). So she has the same problem with both sizes, causing her to get frustrated & give up on getting the last 10 or so pieces of (very small bites size) kibble out. So whichever size Treatstik we're using, I continue to help her out when she gets down to the last pieces. Occasionally I just open the end & dump out the few remaining pieces to save time.

Also, the smaller toy is so much narrower in diameter in the part where the dispensing hole is, that if I put her entire 1/3 cup meal of kibble in it, my dog feels she might be able to reach the kibble by just lying down & chewing at the hole to get to the food something she never even tried with the large version, and not what I want her to do with this toy. So I have to feed her the 1/3 cup in 2 installments, a minor nuisance (but not an issue if you're only using it to feed a few treats at a time).

My dog gives up easily & never goes back to toys that frustrate her, but some small dogs might work at the small Treatstik until they figured out a way to tilt the food out which might even be a good thing to keep them busy longer?

So both sizes work pretty much the same for my small dog, except that I can put her whole meal at one time in the large one, and the small one just requires a refill part way through. She likes both, and we use both, but I wish I'd known all this before I invested in the 2nd one that I ended up not needing. I prefer the large one, even for my small dog.

This is a really heavy-duty product that stands up to our dog's powerful chewing. She loves the toy and thinks getting her dinner in it is great. We got it since she would house her food so fast we thought she might choke or get bloat and it has definitely slowed down her eating.

Sporn Pack Leader Halter Small Black

Sporn Pack Leader Halter Small BlackUnfortunately, the nose piece keeps going over my dogs' eyes so I can't use the halters for fear of eye damage. Also unfortunately, I don't have the plastic packaging that the halters came in to return them. I found the halters to be very cumbersome and a much more complicated fit than the Gentle Leader. They are not easily adjusted either.

I need to find out how/if I can return them without the plastic packaging.

This head halter kept riding up on my dog's eyes so I can't use it at all. :( The Canny Collar worked well in the end (didn't want to spend $30 first but ended up wasting money on this). The problem is that there is no point returning it as the postage would be more than the actual product.

this worked perfect for our puppy pitbull. it looks harsh, but it works. we had her walking perfect in minutes and stopped using it as a halter after a week. now she has outgrown it.

Every dog is different and this collar offers another fit and option. Especially good for those snub nose dogs or those dogs built a little lower to the ground. Other head collars attach the leash under the chin, but a dog who is low to the ground is always stepping on the leash. This gives you control and an attachment on top.

I tried 2 Snoot Loop brand harnesses, and 1 Gentle Leader brand. My terrier puppy destroyed them all in short time. This has two major advantages: 1. If you get it on correctly, it does not get near your dogs mouth. Not only does that solve the chewing problem, but seems to be more tolerable for the dog. 2. The leash attaches behind the neck almost like hooking onto a collar. The others hook below the chin, which makes the leash come out at an odd angle and cause more tangles than normal.

I am also pleased at how well made this is for the price. The hardware is all very solid. There is a little felt padding on the part that contacts the muzzle. I ordered this one for my wife, I got mine from another website. This one has nice little elastic bumps where the halter pulls out that help in putting it on.

Oh, and yes it does stop the dog from pulling. If you know anything about dogs, these three words will let you know what I am dealing with: abandoned terrier puppy; Like trying to walk a Tasmanian Devil. Slip this on and she prances like a show dog. After six months of use, she does remarkable well when only hooked to her collar. We are still primarily walking with the head halter.

A word of warning, though. Make sure the slider is cinched down fairly tight. She has slipped out on rare occasion.

SODIAL(TM) SMALL MEDIUM BIG NO ANTI BARK DOG TRAINING SHOCK COLLAR

SODIAL(TM) SMALL MEDIUM BIG NO ANTI BARK DOG TRAINING SHOCK COLLARThis item works exactly as described. My dog is learning that the "sound" is telling him to stop barking. I would give this item 5 stars except is was described as being for small dogs and it is really big. I have a pomapoo and the box is really big. It does do the job though and for that kind of money you can't go wrong!

Don't buy. Goes off when we talk loud near it or if my dog scratches. Get what you pay for!

Dogtek NoBark Spray Bark Control Dog Collar, Lavender Scent

Dogtek NoBark Spray Bark Control Dog Collar, Lavender ScentThis is a wonderful ideal. My barking dogs (2 toy poodles) are very peaceful now. I put it on one dog and they both calmed down. They like to wrestle and play but now they are playing quietly. We really like the lavender scent.
