I picked up a box of the blueberry treats while vacationing in DC as a treat for the dogs. I loved the tiny size because we're doing a lot of training at the moment and the dogs were putting on weight (two toy poodles and a Lab#. Who knew that all three would be crazy for the blueberry treats all three run to the cookie dish and sit patiently until they get a couple of blueberry bones #they are small treats which allows me to give two or three treats instead of breaking one into pieces). Even the Lab, who has had weight issues for years, loves these treats. Who knew dogs liked blueberries! My dogs love these treats. I love the ingredients. Be warned though, they are tiny. More like a training treat.I got some of these through a friend of mine who bought them for his dog. He swore no dog could resist them and he was right! I had the apple dumpling flavored treats and my little dog, "Magic" was hooked! The ingredients are human grade and could be consumed by humans (though they don't taste great to the average person's palate!).Friday, August 15, 2014

Midwest Starter Series Single-Door Drop-Pin Metal Dog Crate

This crate is large enough for our St. Bernard with enough room to spare for a person to climb in with him! We've had the crate 2 months and overall, are very happy with it. The dog loves it he has room to stretch out and stand up and opts to take his naps in it. For the price, we think the crate is great value, sturdy enough and surprisingly portable if a little unwieldy for one person. We expect to have it for years to come. if you have the space, highly recommend.Read Best Reviews of Midwest Starter Series Single-Door Drop-Pin Metal Dog Crate Here
First off, do not remove any of the pins that are already put in place. My boyfriend made that mistake. It took us an hour to get this thing together. And, you definatly need two people to do it. There was one part that was bent but it seemed to be ok. I will definatly be securing all the edges with zip ties. It doesn't seem that only the pins will do the job. On a better note, I would order this again. I don't know if my dog(White Shepherd)is going through his terrible two's or what but he destroyed my couch. So this is the reason I got it. He loves it!!Want Midwest Starter Series Single-Door Drop-Pin Metal Dog Crate Discount?
They sent it all the way to Alaska. no dents/bends. easy to put together/didn't read the instructions. might be easier with 2 people. very heavy, not very portable unless you are on steriods. didn't buy the pan because I have a smaller cage and the pan is cracked/leaking. I will have a metal pan made. the only large cage I could get shipped to Alaska without extremely high shiping rates added on. would rather have 2-door with a side door for more options in placement because it is huge. fits my Great Dane well.Friday, June 6, 2014
Remote Pet Trainer LCD display Dog Electric Training Collar With Controller , 100 Level Shock and Vi
The bottom line is this collar will work, however it is not very durable or well made.
I'd say if you have an indoor dog that isn't very active, you'll probably get results with this collar. If you have an active, outdoor dog, I'd invest in a higher quality collar. This product only last for around 30 minutes. After using for around 30 minutes, I put it back in the box for future training. Next day, it stop responding even I put 2 sets of brand new batteries in the receiver, nothing to do. I need to return it. I give 1 star because I cannot give less than 1, but I would if I could. This is a cheap copy from some brand name product.I am not a fan of shock collars, although we were going on a family vacation that approved animals as long as they didn't disturb other's. I have a Jack Russel terrier that could bark all night long if you let her.
So my husband and I thought it over for a long time and we finally decided on the remote pet trainer, when we received the collar I tested it moderately on myself to see exactly how it felt to be shock and the know what my dog would be feeling.
The collar it worked well with the remote, and had a lot of shock power to it. I would defiantly recommend this product to anyone out there wanting to buy a shock collar it has two different modes shock and vibrate. Honestly the vibrate worked just as well with my dog.Ok I got this thing maily for the vibration to get my dogs attention. The problem with it is that after not pushing any buttons for 2 min it goes to sleep mode. That wouldn't be a problem, but it won't turn back on after it goes to sleep. I tried pushing all the buttons and everything and it won't turn back on. The only thing that works is the LED light at the top. The LCD display will be blank. The solution to this problem is to take the batterties out of it, and push the LED button to drain the juice that is still in it, and then put the batteries back in. After this you still have one more step until you get the thing to work. You have to take the collar off the dog, remove the batteries and and pair the two devices again.
Needless to say, this is a pain in the butt. It makes using this device on a consistent basis nearly impossible. I would not reccomend anyone buying this product. Spend a little bit more money and get a better product. This is the best little collar. We've only had it for about a week, but it's worked wonders! We have the option to just use the vibrate mode, which is perfect for our dog. He feels the vibration, and stops whatever bad behavior he's doing. I was afraid that it would be junk since it was so cheap, but it has worked out so far!

I have used them as treats for most of their lives. I throw a handful in the grass and they apparently can't see them because they run around with their noses to the ground to find them. Great exercise : )Read Best Reviews of Old Mother Hubbard Mini and Training Snacks for Dogs, 7-1/2-Ounce Pouch Here

PetProjekt Tretbon
This toy is hollow and constructed from approximately 3/8" rubber. When it arrived, it was a bit dirty and had some black markings on it (think like sole marks from sneakers on a gym floor. I thought this was just from shipping, so I washed it off and gave it to our 30 pound dog.
There is a cross shaped cutout on both ends that is designed to enable treats to be incorporated, but its serve as a weak point. Our dog quickly tore off all of the tabs in the area. After I took it away from him, I saw MORE dark streaks inside.INTRO
I am always on the search for new and reliable dog toys our 25lb whippet-shepherd mix has plenty of energy and does not like to be ignored for too long! On a search for new toys, I came across petprojekt's website and was intrigued! I was sent a sample of this product to evaluate in exchange for an honest review.
Our first introduction to treat-based toys was when picking up the funny looking Kong Classic toy and wondering what the heck it was. Since that time, we have found that our dog responds very well to toys that (a) contained treats no shock there, and (b) took some work. Despite being only 25lbs she has remarkably strong jaws (shepherd) combine that with her little pointy teeth and you have a toy-destructor of epic proportions. Many tattered "indestructible" toys later, and we decided that these treat-based toys were the way to go.
DESIGN
I'm all about natural rubber toys for the most part any small pieces that break off will pass through the dog's system without any complications or worries from potential toxins. This is definitely one of the first things I look for when choosing a dog toy. What I like about the trētbōn is the fact that despite being small, you can really pack a lot in! Each end has a cross-style opening in which to place treats, peanut butter, and whatever other things make your pup go crazy! Because the opening is narrow, your dog will have to come up with some creative ways to get at their favorite things our dog has found her process: stepping on the ends and then flinging the bone at the wall. It's rather hilarious to watch to be honest! Because the opening is also made of rubber, it's easy to get a finger in there when cleaning. Very hot water should do the trick I recommend not using soap simply because some dogs won't touch it after.
DURABILITY
As stated on the packaging, this toy is not indestructible and doesn't claim to be. That said, due to the nature of this toy being puzzle-based you will find that it doesn't take much wear and tear (depending on your dog). As I already mentioned, our dog's preferred way of reaching the treats is squashing and flinging, but I would try this out with yours to see if tearing is more their style. For less than five dollars, it's a cheap experiment, and one that may pay off! So far we have stuffed the trētbōn several times, and the only damage is a few *shallow* puncture marks on the ends. Much like the Kong linked above, I am very pleased with how well it has lasted.
PROS
All-natural rubber
Very durable!
Provides hours of your dog being busy and out of your feet
Perfect size for small-medium dogs
Easily washed
CONS
Nothing comes to mind
TIP:
Natural rubber does just fine when frozen, so if you want to provide your dog with a summer treat, I suggest packing the trētbōn full with peanut butter, all-natural liver treats (small) and some blueberries (very good for dogs). Let it freeze overnight and both of you will enjoy the extra time it takes for your dog to enjoy their treat!
OVERALL
This toy has proven to be durable, is easily cleaned and has provided a lot of fun for our dog. The price is very attractive and it has already outlasted toys that cost us twice as much. I can very happily recommend this to owners of small to medium-sized dogs. Even if your dog is a destructive chewer you may find that this is exactly what they need to keep busy! Highly recommended!

Floppy Disc 10-Inch Original Classic Style Soft Bite Disc Toy for Dogs, Regular
Update: Changed review to 5 stars. I've had this things for months now and my dog plays with it frequently. it's been sitting around in my yard and sometimes my patio (when I pick it up) and shows very little signs of wear and tear. Sure, it's dirty. But it's intact, no rips or tears, the perimeter is still circular and not warped, no seams are coming undone. My dog isn't really a chewer but does run around with things in her mouth, so it sometimes sees some heavy usage. A winner.I've bought close to a dozen of these. My dog loves them and they wear VERY well. I've washed them in the washing machine and they came out great too.

My dog LOVES this disc! It is soft yet flies true. She can catch it easily without hurting her mouth. It lasts forever-even when I leave it out in the yard in all weather. The flying discs were exactly as expected. Unfortunately, I have a dog that would rather chew than catch but he's learning. A good price for three of them...Want Floppy Disc 10-Inch Original Classic Style Soft Bite Disc Toy for Dogs, Regular Discount?
We have two Jack Russell Terriers. This frisbee is their favorite toy! I recently purchased a second identical one so that there is one for each dog. The first one we purchased is still going strong after a year and a half of daily frisbee sessions in the back yard and many weekends at the lake. The pink and green colors do fade after a few months of being in the sun, but of course the dogs don't care. We have the 10 inch version and it is just the right size for my smaller female dog to carry it in her mouth without tripping on it. She is about 17 lbs. It might seem pricey but is worth the initial investment for the durablility and quality. Your dog will thank you!!Friday, August 9, 2013
Petco Classic 1-Door Dog Crate

I purchased this cage for a puppy who seems destined to be a 65 lb escape artist. The bars are a nice thickness, and it is sturdy. Plus the locks can't be just slipped into the unlocked position. You need to rotate them 90 degrees before pulling them out. I would recomend this cage to anyone with no doubts in my mind.I've had this crate for a week now, and my dog has managed to escape from it twice. The two latches are really light and easy for a crafty dog to slide open with his paw or mouth.
